Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doja Cat Set for New Season of Saturday Night Live

The new season of Saturday Night Live is just around the corner, and NBC has now announced the first sets of hosts and musical guests. Bad Bunny will host the season debut, on October 4, and Doja Cat will serve as musical guest. The next week, Amy Poehler is host and Role Model is the musical guest. Then, on October 18, Sabrina Carpenter will host for the first time and also perform music.

Bad Bunny previously hosted Saturday Night Live in October 2023. He most recently served as musical guest in May. He soon begins an international tour in support in support of the new album Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

Doja Cat and Role Model will be making their respective Saturday Night Live debuts. Doja Cat’s performance will occur not long after the release of her album Vie, and Role Model shared the deluxe album Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye) earlier this year.

Sabrina Carpenter made her Saturday Night Live debut last year. She then participated in SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

The 50th season of Saturday Night Live ran from September 2024 to May 2025. It featured the aforementioned anniversary special, SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, and performances from Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, and others.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has a net worth of Rs 7300 crore, according to GQ India. He lives in a Rs 200 crore mansion today called ‘Mannat’ and owns an extensive car collection that features four-wheelers from brands like BMW, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Bugatti, and Range Rover. However, did you know there was a time when SRK’s car was taken away as he couldn’t pay its EMI? Those were Shah Rukh’s initial days in the Hindi film industry.

One of his closest co-stars and a business friend, actor Juhi Chawla, made this revelation. She had seen SRK very closely and had known him since the day he didn’t have his house when he used to eat food on the film unit’s set.

While speaking at an event once, Juhi revealed how Shah Rukh once came dejected on the film set after his car was taken away as he couldn’t afford to pay its installment.

“He had no home in Mumbai, as he came from Delhi. Nobody cooked for him, so he used to eat at the unit. Unit ka khana khaate they..unit ki chai peete they. He had one car. It was a black gypsy. He used to do 2-3 shifts as he used to work around the clock. He was very driven. For some reason, he could not pay for his car; maybe he couldn’t pay his EMI. I don’t think something happened, and his car got taken away. That day, he came very dejected to his set, and I said, ‘Don’t worry, you will have many cars. They will come, you see,’ I told him. This is nothing.’ And look at him, where he has gone. Where he has reached today,” Juhi said.

Shah Rukh has worked in several movies with Juhi, such as Darr, Yes Boss, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Duplicate, Ram Jaane, and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

Shah Rukh Khan’s On Work Front

The 59-year-old actor came to Mumbai from Delhi in 1991. He initially started with the television serial Fauji and, in 1992, landed a role in the film Deewana. Shah Rukh’s entry became a rage, which was the beginning of the era of SRK.

In his three-decade career, he has done more than 100 films, winning 14 Filmfare awards for the role of Best Actor. In 2023, he gave back-to-back three blockbusters: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. His next release, King, is expected to hit the theaters in October 2025.

Phish Set 2025 New Year’s Eve Shows at Madison Square Garden

Phish are once again set to close out the year at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, as Trey Anastasio and co. have announced their 2025 return to The World’s Most Famous Arena.

The four-night run, an annual tradition from Phish, is set for December 28th-31st, 2025. This year’s dates will bring the jam band’s total number of shows at The Garden to 91.

A ticket request period is ongoing at Phish’s website through Monday, September 22nd at noon ET. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 26th at noon ET via Ticketmaster.

Phish are currently wrapping up their late summer tour (get tickets here), with remaining multi-night stands in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Hampton, Virginia. In 2026, they will return to Cancún, Mexico, for their 9th annual Phish: Riviera Maya, taking place January 28th-31st.

It’s called the Luc Besson 9-Film Collection, featuring for HD copies of the first 9 movies made by French filmmaker Luc Besson. All nine are on Blu-ray though only 6 of the films are 4K Ultra HD. Many of these are bonafide classics – The Fifth Element is one of my all-time favorites! Though I have to say, after these first nine I think his filmmaking took a downward turn and he hasn’t made anything as incredible on this level again since 2005. The 9-film collection includes Luc Besson’s: Le Dernier Combat, Subway, The Big Blue, La Femme Nikita, Atlantis, Léon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, and Angel-A. Many of his movies from this era were either sci-fi or fantastical or over-the-top with an action thriller premise. “Be one of the first to bring home this one-of-a-kind gift set honoring the visionary French filmmaker, Luc Besson. For Ileana D’Cruz, Barfi remains a special film of her career. But there was a moment when she decided to quit the film midway when filmmaker Anurag Basu shouted at her for no reason, leaving her feeling offended.

Ileana D’Cruz looks back at Barfi memories

Ileana walked down the memory lane and spoke about her experience of working with Anurag Basu during an interview with NDTV. The film also featured Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role.

“One morning, I just walked in super happy in the morning on set and I was like, hey, how’s it going? And he was in a very bad mood. Something ticked him off and he lashed out on me and I got really offended. So, I said, Dada, listen, if you think I’m not right, for this role and if you’re not happy with the work I’ve done, I’ll leave. I’m not going to sue you. I will leave. I love the story so much and it won’t make me happy to be in a film like this if you don’t think I’m right for the part. He went one way I went the other way crying and called the producer. And I said, no, I’m leaving,” Ileana said.

She added, “I spoke to Vidya’s husband, Sid, and he said he’s on his way, just do the scenes. So I go, get ready, have my makeup on, And Dada comes walking back in and he’s the only one who used to call me Ilu. I don’t allow anybody call me Ilu. And he just simply said that I walked in at a bad time, and not to take him seriously. We laughed it off and hugged it out.”

About Barfi

Barfi was released in 2012. The film starred Ranbir, Ileana and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. It was directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Motion Pictures.

Set in Darjeeling and Kolkata in the 1970s, the film focuses on Barfi (Ranbir), a deaf-mute man based in Darjeeling, and his relationships with Shruti (Ileana) and autistic Jhilmil (Priyanka). The film also featured Saurabh Shukla, Ashish Vidyarthi, Jisshu Sengupta, Roopa Ganguly and Haradhan Bandopadhyay.

Ileana was last seen in Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s 2024 romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar, which also starred Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Daisy Ridley, Ambika Mod Set for Pride & Prejudice Table Read for Gaza

Ambika Mod, Daisy Ridley and Morfydd Clark are among the names taking part in a special one-off table read of “Pride and Prejudice” in London to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The event is being arranged by the Cinema for Gaza group, which last year helped raise more than £250,000 ($316,00) for the charity through an auction of items and personal experiences from names such as Josh O’Connor, Tilda Swinton and Jonathan Glazer.

The table-read will be hosted by Nish Kumer and is set to take place on Oct. 12 at the Troxy in East London. Alongside Mod, Ridley and Clark, others involved include Jameela Jamil, Susan Wokoma, Mawaan Rizwan, Priya Kansara, Amar Chadha-Patel, Jeff Mirza, Shazia Mirza and Asim Chaudhry. More names are set to be announced for what is described as a “fun and imaginative tribute to Austen’s enduring tale,” being directed by “We Are Lady Parts” creator Nida Manzoor.|

“It is the 250th anniversary of Austen’s birth as we lift the curtain on a single man with a large fortune in want of a wife,” reads the description. “Roll up to witness the unsuspecting Mr. Bingley going toe-to-toe with the Bennett family, as Mr Darcy puts his foot in his mouth every time he encounters the vexing, intriguing Elizabeth Bennett. Enjoy withering wit, some top-notch repressed flirting, and hard-won happy endings.”

According to Cinema for Gaza, “every penny raised on the night will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestine’s lifesaving work, including their polyclinic in Gaza, which is continuing to operate despite Israel’s bombardment, siege, and forced displacement orders.” It asserted that the clinic has been supporting hundreds of patients a day, providing vital healthcare such as psychosocial support, physiotherapy, and medication for chronic conditions.

The industry advocacy group Cinema For Gaza is hosting a fundraising table read of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, adapted for the stage, with a participating cast that includes names such as Daisy Ridley, Jameela Jamil, and Ambika Mod (One Day). 

The table read will serve as a one-off fundraising event for the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians. The event will take place on October 12 at the Troxy in East London. 

The wider cast includes Jenna Coleman, Morfydd Clark, Nish Kumar, Susan Wokoma, Mawaan Rizwan, Priya Kansara, Amar Chadha-Patel, Jeff Mirza, Shazia Mirza, and Asim Chaudhry. It will be helmed by director Nida Manzoor.

Cinema for Gaza has said 100% of the money raised will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians, which runs a polyclinic in Gaza. The clinic has been supporting hundreds of patients a day, providing vital healthcare such as psychosocial support, physiotherapy, and medication for chronic conditions.

Cinema for Gaza was created by UK film professionals Hanna Flint, Julia Jackman, Leila Latif, Sophie Monks Kaufman, and Helen Simmons, with support from Rebecca Osias and Guy Lodge. The group has so far raised £269,206. 

Last year, the group organized a fundraising auction where high-profile names from the film and TV world donated unique gifts to be auctioned off. Contributors included Tilda Swinton, Ramy Youssef, Peter Capaldi, Imelda Staunton, Brian Cox, Joseph Quinn, Mike Leigh, Misan Harriman, Joanna Hogg, Aimee Lou Wood, and Josh O’Connor.

The Joker could feature in upcoming superhero film ‘Clayface’, set photos reveal

Photos from the set of the upcoming Clayface movie have given fans a new glimpse of the Joker – take a look at them here.

In an on-set photo shared on X (Twitter), a black-and-white poster reads, “Corruption is the enemy of the people,” with the text underneath saying, “March against the G.C.P.D. Park Row, Gotham. This Saturday, 2pm. JOIN THE JOKER.”

It comes after the Joker was first teased last month, with other behind-the-scenes photos revealing graffiti tags reading, “The Jokers”. Some have speculated that the character might be recruiting people to take a stand against the Gotham City Police Department.

The James Watkins-directed movie is filming in Liverpool and set for release on September 11, 2026, and stars Tom Rhys Harries as the titular character, also known as Matt Hagen, an actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster. As a result, he turns to a scientist (Naomi Ackie) who transforms his body into clay. Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan are also set to star.

It’ll be the third movie in the DC Universe franchise, part of its ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’ slate.

DC Studios is currently developing The Brave And The Bold, which will showcase the franchise’s version of Batman for the first time, but Clayface could give fans a look at the Joker in the meantime.

Also in development at present is Superman follow-up Man Of Tomorrow, set for release in 2027, as well as The Authority, Swamp Thing, and an as-yet-untitled Wonder Woman movie.

Clayface’s first appearance in the DCU came in the first season of Creature Commandos and was voiced by Alan Tudyk. However, DCU co-creator said that Tudyk wouldn’t reprise his role in the movie because the character wasn’t Tudyk’s main role in the universe – he also voiced Doctor Phosphorus in Creature Commandos.
