Bob Vylan announce ‘We Won’t Go Quietly’ 2025 UK tour as they hit back at “spineless” BBC chief for condemning “deeply disturbing” Glastonbury set to MPs

Bob Vylan have announced some UK headline dates for 2025, and hit back at the BBC director-general for condemning their Glastonbury set to MPs.

The punk rap duo will hit the road for their ‘We Won’t Go Quietly’ tour this November, following a summer of controversy surrounding their slot at Worthy Farm in June.

  • READ MORE: Bob Vylan: “We’ve been screaming about these topics at the top of our lungs for years. Why has it taken this long?”

“After all the attempts to silence us, we’re about to be louder than ever. We won’t go quietly!” the band wrote when confirming the upcoming shows this morning (September 9).

Kicking off at the O2 Academy in Leeds on November 4, the trek also includes stops in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Bristol and Birmingham.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday (September 12) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. An O2 Priority pre-sale will begin at the same time tomorrow (Wednesday September 10).

Check out the announcement post below, along with the full schedule.

Bob Vylan’s 2025 ‘We Won’t Go Quietly’ UK tour dates are:

NOVEMBER
04 – O2 Academy, Leeds
05 – Academy, Manchester
06 – O2 Academy, Glasgow
11 – O2 Kentish Town Forum, London
20 – The Prospect Building, Bristol

DECEMBER
04 – O2 Academy, Birmingham

Bob Vylan have also called out Tim Davie, the BBC director-general, after he called the corporation’s decision to broadcast the duo’s Glastonbury 2025 set live “a very significant mistake” (via The Independent).

When facing questions from MPs on the Culture, Media and Sport Committee today, Davie branded Bob Vylan’s slot at the event “anti-Semitic” and “deeply disturbing”.

“I don’t think I misread it, I just got there [to Glastonbury] when I heard about it [at] about five o’clock,” Davie recalled. “The performance was well done by then, and at that point, I knew absolutely that it was an anti-Semitic broadcast.

“So, my decision was to get that off on demand, simple as that. I mean, it wasn’t too complicated in my mind […] I do think it was deeply disturbing.”

In response, the band labelled Davie a “spineless puppet” and denied any wrongdoing once again: “There was nothing anti-Semitic or criminal about anything I said at Glastonbury. Why do you think @metpoliceuk @ASPolice are taking so long?

As well as being dropped by their agency, Bob Vylan have had their US visas revoked and are currently under criminal investigation over the performance. The gig saw the duo voice their support for Palestine, criticise Israel, and lead the crowd in chants of “death, death to the IDF [Israel Defence Forces]”.

In July, it was reported that police were still investigating Bob Vylan’s Glastonbury set. However, it was confirmed at the time that they had dropped their inquiry into Kneecap’s performance at the festival.

“Tim Davie is doing his best to continue throwing others under the bus and cling on to power at the BBC but we see him and the institution for what they are,” Bob Vylan wrote this afternoon.

“Bought and paid for, complicit in the Gaza genocide and a leading force in the silencing of those speaking up against it.”

They went on to claim that “the reason [their Glastonbury set] wasn’t cut immediately is not because of some oversight at the BBC as they keep making out, but because there was nothing anti-Semitic about the performance”.

Davie said today that “the BBC made a very significant mistake in broadcasting” the show. “The fact that those words were broadcast to that broad audience […] frankly, it was disturbing,” he added.

Bob Vylan responded: “As a matter of fact I know there were staff at the BBC that loved the performance and saw nothing wrong with it until they were told there was something wrong with it. I also know some other bits and pieces but let me just 🤐.”

Following the broadcast, a spokesperson for the BBC said: “The team were dealing with a live situation, but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen.”

Lorna Clarke, a Black woman, was so quickly dismissed from her duties after Glastonbury. Why? Someone had to fall and who easier to take it than a Black woman. But now he’s getting grilled and is showing just how incompetent and bought HE is.

— Bob Vylan (@BobbyVylan) September 9, 2025

They continued: “The BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence. The anti-Semitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves.”

Bob Vylan have also today addressed Lorna Clarke stepping down from her role as the BBC’s director of music following the backlash.

“Lorna Clarke, a Black woman, was so quickly dismissed from her duties after Glastonbury,” they wrote. “Why? Someone had to fall and who easier to take it than a Black woman. But now [Davie is] getting grilled and is showing just how incompetent and bought HE is.”

Bob Vylan have spoken out to defend their Glastonbury 2025 performance numerous times now. They’ve claimed it was vital to “teach our children to speak up for the change they want”, and reiterated that they were wanting the “dismantling of a violent military machine” – not calling for “the death of Jews or Arabs or any other race or group”.

In a statement, Glastonbury organisers said they were “appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan”.

Shortly after the festival, the BBC said it would no longer broadcast performances it deemed “high risk”. Around the same time, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy accused the BBC of having a “problem of leadership”.

Pulp Announce 30th Anniversary Reissue of Different Class

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Pulp have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of Different Class, long considered one of the defining Britpop albums. Out October 24th via Island Records/UMe, the expanded edition will feature a recording of their full set at Glastonbury Festival 1995.

Available in either 4xLP or 2xCD formats, the anniversary release was remastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road, a process overseen by Pulp’s frontman Jarvis Cocker and guitarist Mark Webber. It comes with a 28-page booklet featuring previously unseen images and an essay based on new interviews with the band. Pre-orders are ongoing.

Get Pulp Tickets Here

In a statement, Cocker explained why this new release will feature uncompromised audio quality compared to the original record:

“We were obsessed with the fact that this was our ‘Pop’ album (we had finally achieved some ‘popularity’ when ‘Common People’ was a hit) and, as everyone knows, all pop albums have 12 songs on them: 6 tracks per side. Only problem: this took the running time of the record to 53 minutes. We were told this would compromise the audio quality of the vinyl record — but we were more bothered about not compromising the quality of our Pop Dream. Now, 30 years later, we are finally ready for Different Class to be heard in all its glory. Different Class indeed.”

Released in October 1995, Different Class debuted atop the UK Album chart and spawned four Top 10 hits, including “Common People” and the double single “Mis-Shapes/Sorted for E’s & Wizz.”

Four months before the album’s arrival, Pulp headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival, filling in for The Stone Roses on short notice. The Different Class 30th anniversary edition marks the first time that the audio from that performance has been released.

Earlier this year, Pulp returned with More, their first album of new material in almost 24 years. They’re currently on a supporting North American tour. See the full schedule below, and get tickets here.

Tame Impala announce new album ‘Deadbeat’

by jummy84 September 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Tame Impala has announced the release date for a forthcoming album, titled ‘Deadbeat’.

The psychedelic music project of instrumentalist Kevin Parker returned in July with the seven-minute, house-inspired track ‘End Of Summer’, which the artist had previously debuted during a DJ set in Barcelona. Shortly before, he had shared a series of photographs on social media – revealing that he had “been busy” in the studio working on new music.

Now, the Tame Impala Instagram account has shared an image with the caption “LP5 – October 17”. The official website confirmed the title of the album as ‘Deadbeat’, as suggested in the post, and the image shared as its cover.

The description on the album’s pre-order store describe the fifth LP as “a collection of wickedly potent club-psych explorations as a vehicle for some of his most direct, brain-wormy songwriting to date, recasting Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act in the process.”

It continues: “’Deadbeat’ sounds like the work of an artist with a levelled up mastery and bristles with a revitalized energy for experimentation. 12 songs crafted with a newfound embrace of spontaneity for the renowned perfectionist. How that manifests is a distinct minimalism and crunch to many of the tracks, with a clutch of crucial details, timbres and textures that add an ineffably new dimension to the sound, as well as a richer, more playful vocal range than ever.”

The announcement comes just after Tame Impala shared the video for new single ‘Loser’, which features Stranger Things star and Djo singer Joe Keery. The collaboration was teased through a series of posters spotted in New York and Chicago last week alongside a photograph of a younger Kevin Parker.

‘Deadbeat’ will be Tame Impala’s first full album since 2020’s ‘The Slow Rush’. In the time since, the producer and musician contributed to the Barbie soundtrack album, as well as collaborating with Dua Lipa, Thundercat, Diana Ross, Gorillaz and Justice.

In February, Parker won his first Grammy for ‘Neverender’ – one of his collaborations with Justice. Parker also reflected on the creation of his 2015 album ‘Currents’ recently, to mark its 10th anniversary.

Tame Impala Announce New Album Deadbeat

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

After dropping two songs this summer, Tame Impala have announced a new album – their first in five years. The follow-up to 2020’s The Slow Rush is titled Deadbeat and arrives October 17 via Columbia. Check out the cover artwork for the album below.

Kevin Parker ushered in Tame Impala’s return in July with “End of the Summer,” which arrived with a trippy split-screen music video. Then, yesterday, he also rolled out the new song “Loser.” Tame Impala tapped Joe Keery—the Stranger Things and Pavements actor who records his own music as Djo—to star in that music video where, for a brief few seconds, he swaps places with Parker to tell the tale of a dejected burnout.

Deadbeat, according to a press release, “is deeply inspired by bush doof culture and the Western Australia rave scene.” Parker worked on the album in his Fremantle hometown and at his studio in Injidup, Western Australia. The 12-song project will include both “End of the Summer” and “Loser.”

Although The Slow Rush came out five years ago, Parker has been plenty busy since then. He won his first-ever Grammy Award, the Best Dance/Electronic Recording trophy, for the Justice collaboration “Neverender.” Then there’s all the film contributions, with Tame Impala recording “Journey to the Real World” for the Barbie movie, “Wings of Time” for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, a remix of “Edge of Reality” for Elvis, and the Diana Ross collaboration “Turn Up the Sunshine” for Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Of course, Parker has lent his skills to a number of other songs over the past couple years, too. The Tame Impala mastermind recorded “No More Lies” with Thundercat, “One Night/All Night” with Justice, “New Gold” with Gorillaz, and “Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better” with the Streets. That doesn’t even include all the remixes artists like 070 Shake, the Crowded House, and Justice have asked him to do, or him helming the production board for Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism.

Well known for his intelligent and thought-provoking stand-up, Goldsmith has performed climate comedy on the BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Conan in Los Angeles, and at leading global festivals. His 2023 solo show Spoilers won Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2023, received five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and was widely praised for its ability to confront sustainability with humour and hope.

Goldsmith’s work has featured across BBC News, Radio Times, and News UK, and he has appeared at leading sustainability events including the Net Zero Festival, Blue Earth Summit, and GreenBiz in the US. His performances engage audiences and alleviate our collective dread by using comedy to tackle a serious subject.
