Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially taking their love story to the next level. The global superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end have announced their engagement on Tuesday (Aug. 26) with a joint Instagram post.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the pair captioned the post, adding a dynamite emoji and a snippet of Swift’s track, “So High School.”

In the first photo, Kelce is seen kneeling on one knee beneath a floral arbor while Swift, in a striped dress, holds his face and smiles above him. Another shot shows a closeup of the singer’s hefty new ring.

The couple’s romance has captivated fans and dominated headlines since she first started appearing at his NFL games last year. While some football fans criticized the NFL for panning to Swift in the stands instead of the game, her presence reportedly boosted ticket sales and viewership.

Swift, however, has always kept her focus on their relationship despite the backlash. In 2023, she told Time magazine, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

Before Swift, Kelce publicly dated media personality, influencer, and former sports reporter, Kayla Nicole, for about five years before their split in 2022. As for the “Shake It Off” singer, she’s dated a plethora of notable men including John Mayer, Calvin Harris, Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, and others.

The couple’s engagement news arrives just weeks after Swift appeared on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, to share details about her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl, slated to release next month.

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end publicly expressed his interest in the singer. Kelce attended the Eras Tour stop at his team’s home venue, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, and later told his brother, on their podcast, New Heights, that he made a bracelet that he wanted to give Swift after the show. Eventually, in September 2023, Swift attended a Chiefs game, and she later said that she and Kelce were a couple by that time. In the ensuing months, Swift attended more football games, Kelce went to more Eras Tour shows, and they generally did a lot of things together. Recently, Swift went on New Heights to discuss her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Before dating Kelce, Swift’s longest relationship was with the actor Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for about six years. She briefly dated numerous notable figures—including Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, and Matthew Healy—but had never been engaged.

Kelce was the star of a 2016 reality show called Catching Kelce that was designed for him to find a partner. (Maya Benberry won the show, but her relationship with Kelce did not last long.) He also dated the social media influencer Kayla Nicole for a number of years, before breaking up in 2022. Like Swift, Kelce has not previously been engaged to be married.

In 2023, Kelce subsequently disclosed that he had tried, but failed, to buy Swift a friendship bracelet bearing his phone number.

He later talked more about how their romance started, saying that the two had been chatting before their initial encounter in New York.

Swift supported the Chiefs tight end at a number of his games in the months that followed, including Super Bowl LVXIII, when the football player and Swift kissed after the big game.

Following the conclusion of the singer’s wildly popular Eras Tour last year, Kelce has been spotted on the stage of the NFL since the completion of his successful 2023–2024 season.

Although the two had previously been spotted together in public and on the field, the NFL star’s visit on Swift’s stage marked his first foray into his beau’s territory.

Before the two celebrities’ big moment, there was a lot of internet speculation among Swifties that the couple would become engaged.

Kelce and Swift ‘found a lot of common ground’

Us Weekly claims that Swift and Kelce’s relationship has flourished due to their mutual admiration for one another’s traits. “They found a lot of common ground they were not expecting, and it made their relationship stronger,” an insider disclosed.

Another source highlighted three characteristics that have formed their solid foundation: “They have found their counterpart in terms of ambition, work ethic, and values.”

ARTMS have announced a new slate of ‘Grand Club Icarus’ tour dates – see the full list of dates and venues below.

The Modhaus group have shared details of the first leg of their ‘Grand Club Icarus’ world tour, in support of their new EP ‘Club Icarus’. The trek will see them perform across North America this November.

It’ll begin in Baltimore, and will be followed by stops in Medford, Toronto, Madison, St. Louis, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Denver, Tempe, Los Angeles and Monterey. More dates across other regions are expected to be announced soon.

The tour reveal comes two months after ARTMS shared their latest EP ‘Club Icarus’. The group spoke to NME about the project ahead of its release. Member HaSeul explained the EP’s theme to us: “The idea is to heal the souls that’ve been hurt. Even [if] the myth of Icarus itself is quite a tragedy – but the idea is to heal such a soul. If you watch our music video when it’s released, then I’m sure you’d fully understand it.”

The girl group is made up of five LOONA members: Kim Lip, Choerry, JinSoul, HaSeul and HeeJin. ARTMS joined Modhaus in 2023, a label established by former LOONA producer Jaden Jeong, following their departure from BlockBerry Creative.

They also told NME about the chances of a LOONA reunion: “Although there’s nothing set in stone, if there’s an opportunity – we’d really want to do it. Our recent world tour, ‘Lunar Theory’, was to continue the legacy of LOONA, and we’ve been performing a lot of LOONA’s songs. It really made me nostalgic, so It’d be great to have all of us perform together again.”

Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi are now parents.

The Stranger Things star, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, the son of Jon Bon Jovi, announced that they had adopted a daughter on Thursday.

“This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” the pair said in a joint Instagram statement.

“We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter.”

The Enola Holmes actor and Bongiovi first crossed paths on social media and were friends for a while before becoming a couple, she told Wired in 2022.

They became engaged in April 2023 and were married in May 2024.

In October, the couple shared photos of their wedding celebrations, which took place at Villa Cetinale in Italy.

In a March appearance on the Smartless podcast, Brown said she was looking forward to becoming a mother one day.

“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And it’s been my thing since before I met Jake … since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me,” she said.

“And my nan, my grandmother, was a huge part of my life… Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.

“It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, ‘We cannot do that until we get married.’ So that was his thing.”

She hinted that adoption was in the cards and having a large family was important to her and her husband.

“I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different as in adopting,” she said.
