5 Underrated Color Combinations for Fall That Work Better Than You Could Imagine

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

In the past few years, street style trends have largely dropped experimenting with different color combinations in favor of the “quiet luxury” aesthetic. Simple, timeless, and neutral tones of course have their place and are an effective way of dressing. But when did everyone get so afraid of color? Looks in saturated tones can be just as elegant, we promise.

We’re all for a look with a single pop of color, but the truth is that some of the coolest and most unexpected outfit ideas today are doing the opposite: They play with overlooked or surprising color combinations to create a look that’s beautiful and decidedly anything but monochromatic.

There are no fashion “rules” here. Pink and red were born to be worn together. The myth that navy blue and black shouldn’t be mixed has been proven wrong time and time again, and the same goes for brown and black. Actually, all the colors that you think wouldn’t go well together unexpectedly do. And so, here are five color formulas worth trying this fall and winter.

Pakistani Actress Iqra Aziz Comes In Support Of Deepika Padukone On 8-Hour Work Debate

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Iqra Aziz recently took to Instagram to voice her support for Deepika Padukone, who welcomed her daughter Dua last year, amid ongoing discussions about an 8-hour workday in the film industry. Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz expressed her solidarity with Deepika amid the debate over the demands for shorter working hours in Bollywood. The controversy gained traction after reports claimed Deepika had withdrawn from two major projects—Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD—allegedly due to her request for an eight-hour workday.

Iqra Aziz Comes In Support Of Deepika Padukone On Her 8 Hours Work Debate

Deepika recently addressed the controversy in an interview with CNBC-TV18, highlighting that male superstars have been adhering to the same eight-hour schedule for years without attracting headlines. She pointed out that her request is not about the hours but about the perception of her being demanding.

On Instagram Stories, Iqra shared a clip of Deepika’s interview and wrote a supportive message. She said, “The focus isn’t on the 8-hour shift but on her perceived demanding nature. A mother striving for work-life balance should be supported. As long as she fulfills her commitments, her colleagues should be team players and respect her time.”

Hansal Mehta On Bollywood’s Working Hours Demand

In addition to Iqra, filmmaker Hansal Mehta also voiced his thoughts on the issue via social media. On X (formerly Twitter), he remarked, “In our line of work, a 12-hour day is politely called a ‘shift.’ But between chaotic shoots, endless commutes, rushed meals, and broken sleep, there’s little left for us. Where does our mental health or physical well-being fit in? The normalization of 12-hour workdays feels exploitative. It should be the exception, not the norm.”

Regarding Deepika’s recent statements, she has been in the spotlight for exiting Spirit—reportedly due to her request for an 8-hour workday—and stepping away from Kalki 2898 AD, with producers citing the need for a higher level of commitment.

New Special, ‘I Don’t Wanna Work Anymore’

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

For somebody who’d allegedly prefer a life of leisure, Phoebe Robinson sure hustles.

The writer-actress has a deal with Sony Pictures TV, via her Tiny Reparations production company. There’s the literary imprint of the same name, where she’s published her first three books of comedy. And, more pressingly, there’s the stand-up career that’s just birthed her latest comedy special. I Don’t Wanna Work Anymore is now on YouTube. And if you don’t watch it, well, Robinson will be that much further from retirement.

Speaking in early October, the 2 Dope Queens and Everything’s Trash alum spoke about the communal joy of raunchy jokes, why she has no plans to discuss her new hour with her family this holiday season and her firm belief that people should take an “Are You Dumb As Fuck or Not?” test before they’re allowed to to record a podcast. Speaking of podcasts… an extended version of this conversation will be featured in the premiere of The Hollywood Reporter’s latest, out later this month. (And, no, I did not take the test.)

You say you don’t want to work anymore, but clearly enjoy what you do. What part of your job could you do without?

If I never had another meeting in my life, I’d be fine. I don’t want to do a general meeting. “Hey, what are you watching right now?” I don’t give a shit. We’re all watching 20 different shows. I just love writing, I love doing stand-up. I love doing the creative stuff. The admin things and the networky things… I only have a certain amount of bandwidth.

The title of the special is work-focused, but I’d argue it’s really about sex. When it comes to personal material, do you have a line that you won’t cross in terms of what you’ll share on stage?

I always want to be respectful… and I know that may not be what you think when you see my stand-up. And by that I mean that I never want to punch down. I never want to just completely eviscerate someone. The way that I talk and joke about sex on stage, it’s fun and liberating. I think other people feel that way, too. They just need to hear someone on stage say the things that I’m saying. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Have you had any reactions to the contrary?

I mean, I’m definitely going to tell my parents to skip this one. Just skip it, Phil and Octavia! There is nothing here for you. Not one solitary sweet thing. Please don’t put yourself through it. I’ve got to go home for Thanksgiving. I don’t want the stress. We’ve got to make conversation over vegan turkey, so let’s just skip this awkward part, go see Wicked: For Good and pretend everything was fine. This special is kind of wild.

The stand-up special economy has changed dramatically over the last few years. How did you end up going with YouTube?

There’s just an over-saturation. For me, I want to bet on myself and see where this goes. I like what YouTube does for a lot of stand-up comedians. It’s just a very open space. It’s really hard to stand out on streaming platforms when they’re dropping one or two specials a week. I don’t want to get lost in the shuffle. So I wanted to go my own way. I think it’s very in line with my career. Jessica [Williams] and I started 2 Dope Queens because we didn’t feel there were enough gay people and people of color doing late night. I started my own imprint because it was hard for me to sell my first book in 2015. People were telling me that people don’t buy books written by Black women. To me, this doesn’t feel like anything new.

Your last series, Everything’s Trash, aired in 2022. You’ve now got projects in various stages of development. What is the biggest obstacle to getting a green light?

Hollywood is so cray cray right now. I have a first look with Sony TV, and they’ve been great so far. We have a good mix of half-hour comedies and a couple of dramas. I have a couple of projects I’m trying to develop for me to start in. I think the biggest hurdle is that there’s a reticence to doing something original or left of center. It’s so funny you hear these platforms and networks. They’re like, “Oh, we want a Fleabag or a Beef.” All these shows that are so singular and have a specific voice. Then when you pitch them those things, sometimes they’ll try and tell you all the ways in which it won’t work. I’m like, “Yeah, it could also work, so how about we try that?” It’s been really tricky, but I’m holding out hope that the tide will turn.

When you say left of center, do you mean quirky or, like, progressive or politically left?

I think both. But it is also a big time for procedurals, and I don’t think anyone turns to me to be like, “We need Phoebe Robinson to write a procedural!”

But if you had to make a procedural, what does a Phoebe Robinson procedural look like?

I thought Justified, on FX, was a really good way of doing a procedural. Also, the Matlock reboot! I tell everyone how good that show is. That is truly a straight down the middle procedural, but the writing, the acting are also really great. I would want something that’s a little gritty, a little interesting, a little sexy, a little something for me to star in opposite Andrew Lincoln. I just saw him do a play in London. He’s so absolutely brilliant and I would love to see him lead another show.

Can you tell me a little bit about your ongoing Instagram series, Thirsty Thursday? You pen these incredibly well-written and totally perverse odes to the famous men you find attractive.

I’ve always been a horny person, and I just wanted to have a fun way of talking about these hot celebs. So, I write these little horny sonnets about everyone from Jason Momoa and Denzel Washington to Tom Holland. It’s been fun, and people get the joke. I’m just having a good time objectifying these guys. Sometimes I think, “Oh, is this person going to be problematic?” So far I’ve been good. But let’s see.

Ever hear back from any of them?

I wrote one about Milo Ventimiglia. I just think he is so dreamy, and he DM-ed me. Mandy Moore sent it to him, which is so wild. And he was like, “Thank you so much. It was so funny.” The fact that the guys get it and know it’s not wild or crazy, that’s really cute. I did Steven Colbert’s show and he asked me to do one on him, so I did.

Any dates come out of this yet?

No. One thing I will tell you about hot famous men: They’re not like, “Wow, she can write! That’s who I want to date — someone who’s witty with the pen, someone who’s going to challenge me. Oh yeah, that gets my dick hard.” That has not happened. But there’s still hope. Maybe one day.

You just ran the Berlin marathon. Congratulations! And, a totally inappropriate pivot, did you see Harry Styles out there?

That man is so fast. I did not see him. It was so hot, and he was wearing all black, long sleeves! This guy’s a true athlete… I’m so jealous of him. But I just started running two years ago and I’m already running four marathons, so I feel like I’m doing OK.

Before I let you go, I’m wondering, as a podcasting pioneer, what are your thoughts on the saturation point we seem to have reached? You have not been shy in sharing your critiques of the podcast bros.

There are too many people with microphones. And most of them don’t even listen. You don’t know how to interview. You don’t know how to carry a conversation. You should have to take an exam before you can launch a podcast. It’s called “Are You Dumb As Fuck or Not?” I’ve listened to some of these podcasts, and hurts my brain. Now these guys are coming along with their stupid ass platforms and their nonsensical opinions; they’re flooding the space. It’s not great. I have hope that some people will go away from podcasting.

Can disagreements with seniors at work hurt your mental health? 3 easy ways to resolve them safely

by jummy84 October 8, 2025

Disagreements at the workplace, especially if it’s with your seniors, can feel like walking on a tightrope. One may feel uneasy about calling out their senior or boss for fear of conflict, repercussions or appearing insubordinate. To avoid the potential tension, a simple, obedient nod shoves all doubts under the carpet. But bottling up frustration leaves employees stressed and weighs down on their mental wellbeing.

HT Lifestyle reached out to experts to understand the potential consequences of suppressing workplace concerns and how employees can safely handle disagreements at work.

How it harms mental health

Disagreement with bosses can harm not only mental health but also affect the entire atmosphere of the team. Dr Ajit Dandekar, head of mental health at Nanavati Max Hospital, Mumbai, told HT Lifestyle that how managers handle disagreements with their team can shape the psychosocial climate of the workplace. It also influences the employees’ stress levels and overall job satisfaction.

He explained the repercussions on mental wellbeing, “If the manager is inconsistent, supportive one moment and dictatorial the next, his subordinates are more likely to experience symptoms of depression, anxiety and exhaustion.”

According to Dr Dandekar, the most successful teams are those where open and honest communication is encouraged without employees being afraid of being disobedient. He added, “In such teams, the manager and his subordinates are ‘in agreement’ to achieve a common, single goal and there is no tug-of-war of egos in discussions.”

And most importantly, if the manager insists that their opinion or views are right, Dr Dandekar noted that employees may hesitate to share their thoughts, and in turn, this affects both their mental health and hurts the team’s overall performance.

The doctor highlighted the importance of ‘corporate listening,’ a soft skill that helps alleviate workplace stress, reduce misunderstanding and support employee wellbeing. This fosters open communication.

3 easy ways to handle disagreements with seniors

Ravi Kaklasaria, co-founder & CEO at edForce, suggested that upskilling is an effective strategy for managing workplace disagreements. He said, “Disagreements are inevitable, especially between junior and senior team members. Upskilling, especially in communication, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking, helps individuals navigate these tensions constructively.”

He also shared with HT Lifestyle 3 easy ways to settle disagreements with seniors:

1. Lead with curiosity, not assumption

  • Instead of reacting emotionally or defensively, ask clarifying questions. “Can you help me understand the reasoning behind that approach?” shows openness and respect, and often de-escalates tension.
  • This strategy positions you as someone seeking collaboration, not confrontation.

2. Use data to ground your perspective

  • Rather than framing your disagreement as opinion, support it with relevant data, outcomes, or examples.
  • Senior leaders are more receptive when they see that your viewpoint is informed, not impulsive.
  • This also shows that you’re thinking from a business perspective, not just a personal one.

3. Acknowledge experience while offering a view

  • Start by validating the senior’s expertise. A simple line like, “I know you’ve seen this from a broader lens,” builds trust. Follow it with, “Here’s another angle I’d love to explore…”
  • This respectful framing encourages dialogue, not dismissal.

When Kareena Kapoor Revealed How Shahid Kapoor Convinced Her To Do Jab We Met, “I Was Without Work…”

by jummy84 October 3, 2025

Kareena Kapoor Once Opened On Doing Jab We Met (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met is one of the most iconic films of Hindi cinema. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the romantic-comedy film was a superhit at the box office. Shahid and Kareena had been dating in real life earlier, and their on-screen chemistry was well-received by the audience. However, did you know that Kareena initially refused to work with Imtiaz Ali because she hadn’t seen any of his films? Read on to know more.

Kareena Kapoor Was Not Sure Of Taking The Character Of Geet

According to Bollywood Shaadis, in an interview with Mid-Day India, Kareena Kapoor shared that she was unsure about taking on the character of Geet Kaur. She said, “I was actually without work. I hadn’t worked in a year and a half because I was saying no to big films. I was not getting the kind of film that I wanted. Films weren’t working, so I wanted to take a sabbatical for a year and a half. I think Imtiaz called up Shahid and narrated the film. We didn’t even know Imtiaz because he had just made Socha Na Tha. I hadn’t seen the film; Shahid, I think, had seen the film.”

Shahid Kapoor Convinced Kareena Kapoor For Jab We Met

“Imtiaz came out of the blue, and it happened. He approached Shahid, and Shahid told me, ‘Hey listen, you know, he’s going to approach you for this role, and it’s great.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll work. I’ll do this movie.’ I never knew that it would be this iconic movie. I think Imtiaz always looked at me for that, that you’re not understanding what this character is,” Kareena added.

Earlier, in an interview with Film Companion, Kareena Kapoor recalled shooting for Tashan and Jab We Met simultaneously, calling it a “karmic connection.” She shared, “I was shooting for Tashan, and I was giving Jab We Met the treatment like, ‘Listen I’m working with YRF, I’m playing the main role, I’ve become a size zero, and I’m going to kill it.’ That was my vibe on the sets of Jab We Met. In fact, it was Shahid who actually said that I should hear the script. He was like, ‘It’s amazing; the girl’s part is amazing, and you should try it. He kind of actually got this entire project together, and both of us ended up doing this film.”

Tashan Was Kareena Kapoor’s Passion Project

Kareena further shared that she was just shooting for Jab We Met because Tashan was her ‘passion project and would change her life.’ “Destiny had its own plans, and life took its course. And a lot had happened in the making of this film and Tashan. This (Jab We Met) changed my career, and that (Tashan) changed my life. I met the man of my dreams, and I did marry him. This took its own course where Shahid and I went our own ways, and this gem came out of it,” she concluded.

Rani Mukerji weighs in on flexible work hours amid Deepika Padukone’s 8hr-shift demand: ‘When Adira was 14 month old…’

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

As the film industry continues to discuss Deepika Padukone’s reported request for an eight-hour workday, a demand said to have led to her exit from Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, actor Rani Mukerji has weighed in with her perspective, drawing from her own experience of balancing career and motherhood.

Rani Mukerji noted that while flexibility in working hours is essential, the pressure on women remains significantly different from their male counterparts.

Rani recalled her schedule when Adira was a toddler

Speaking to ANI, Rani recalled the filming of her 2018 movie Hichki, which took place when her daughter Adira was just 14 months old.

“When I did Hichki, Adira was 14 months old, and I was still breastfeeding her. I had to pump the milk and leave early in the morning to shoot at a college in town. From my home in Juhu to the shoot location, it would take almost two hours due to traffic. So I’d leave by 6:30 a.m. after expressing milk. My first shot was at 8 a.m., and I’d wrap up by 12:30 or 1 p.m. My team and director were very organised. I’d reach home by 3 p.m., before the traffic worsened. That’s how I completed the film.”

She stressed that conversations around flexible working hours in cinema aren’t new but are gaining visibility today because they’re being publicly acknowledged. Rani also highlighted the double standards faced by women in the industry, pointing out that female actors often have to pause or adapt their careers after motherhood, while their male counterparts rarely face the same expectations.

Rani talks about juggling work with motherhood

“These things have always existed. It’s just that now people are openly talking about it. In any profession, if the producer agrees to shorter hours, you go ahead with the project. If not, you opt out. It’s a mutual choice; nothing is forced. Men don’t have to go through a physical transformation. Women, on the other hand, go through both physical and emotional changes after becoming mothers. But I’m very happy being a woman,” she said.

Rani Mukerji recently earned the Best Actress award at the 71st National Film Awards for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway. The film, based on the real-life story of Sagarika Chakraborty, follows a mother’s emotional and legal battle to reclaim her children from the Norwegian foster care system.

Deepika, on the other hand, is busy shooting Shah Rukh Khan’s King which also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Arshad Warsi.

‘If I could dance, maybe Bollywood could work’: Enrique Iglesias on return to India and its ‘amazing energy’ | Exclusive

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

If you are not a young Millennial, it is perhaps hard to describe the chokehold Enrique Iglesias had on an entire generation in the 2000s. The singer remains one of the most influential musicians of our time, and also one of the most popular international artists in India. That is why it is hard to understand why his last visit to these shores was in 2012. It may have taken 13 years, but Enrique is back, or at least he is en route.

HT EXCLUSIVE | Enrique Iglesias talks about his India return.

The singer will perform in Mumbai in October. Ahead of the much-anticipated visit, the multi-platinum singer spoke to Hindustan Times about India, the evolution of his music, and Bollywood, among other things.

On the return to India

When Enrique’s India visit was first announced in June, there was only one show scheduled. But the demand for tickets was so high that it sold out in minutes, and the promoters added another. Was the singer surprised? He says, “You never know when you first announce, but I will say that I had a great feeling about India specifically. The fans there are so amazing and dedicated.”

Enrique says he is in awe of India’s energy, something that makes the crowds here and performances very different. “The energy is incredible. The crowds, the fans, the people….EVERYTHING is always amazing,” he says. But then what took him 13 years to return to this ‘amazing’ place? “It just takes time to go around the world and then return. I would definitely love to come here more often in the future,” says Enrique.

The October concert will be Enrique Iglesias' first performance in India since 2012.
The October concert will be Enrique Iglesias’ first performance in India since 2012.

On Indian music and Bollywood

During his last visit to India, Enrique expressed his admiration for Indian music. He has collaborated with Sunidhi Chauhan, among other Indian artistes, over the years. “I am always listening and watching,” he says, as the conversation moves to Indian music. He adds, “I have done duets and remixes in the past with various Indian artists and am always considering the future.”

Everything about Enrique’s music and persona is very Indian. He is a heartthrob who sings, which begs the question as to why nobody from Bollywood has cast him yet. “Have there been offers?” we ask him. “If I could dance, maybe it would work,” he responds with a smile.

At 50, Enrique is completing 30 years in the music industry. It has been a while. When asked what changes he has seen in his music and style, the singer flips the question. “I would divert that question right back to the fans,” he says. But is there something he would change in his journey so far? Never to be outwitted, Enrique has the perfect reply ready: “I would have loved to come to India hundreds of more times.”

Enrique Iglesias’ India concert

Enrique will perform at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai on 29 and 30 October. Produced and promoted by EVA Live in partnership with BEW Live, this concert marks the multi-platinum-selling artist’s highly anticipated return to India after 13 years.

Deepika Padukone And Farah Khan: A 15-Year Friendship ENDS Over Work Demands? | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

A surprising development has caught the attention of fans — Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan, once known for their close friendship, have unfollowed each other on Instagram. This unexpected move has sparked rumours of a fallout between the two, especially considering Farah played a pivotal role in launching Deepika’s Bollywood career with Om Shanti Om and later directed her in Happy New Year.

The timing of this social media activity has added fuel to the speculation. Recently, Farah Khan made multiple public jabs — albeit light-hearted — seemingly aimed at Deepika’s alleged preference for 8-hour workdays. In a YouTube vlog with actress Radhikka Madan, Farah joked about how long work hours create true stars, indirectly questioning actors who insist on shorter shifts.

The comments didn’t stop there. During another vlog appearance at actor Rohit Saraf’s home, Farah cheekily mentioned that even Deepika Padukone didn’t take as long to say yes to her film. When her cook Dilip asked when Deepika would appear on their show, Farah quipped, “She only works 8 hours now, she has no time,” adding, “She’ll come the day you go to your village.”

Farah Khan Instagram

Interestingly, Farah has also unfollowed Ranveer Singh, though the actor still follows her.

This comes at a time when Deepika has made headlines for reportedly being dropped from major projects, including Kalki 2 and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Reports claim her exit was due to her alleged work-hour restrictions, high salary demands, and requests for profit sharing — terms that reportedly didn’t sit well with the filmmakers.
