bitchy | Jobson: Prince William asked to ‘cut back’ on work last year, Charles said ‘think again’

A consistent undercurrent of royal gossip in recent years is that King Charles thinks that Prince William is lazy, but not only that – William is undignified as well. Charles doesn’t care for William’s half-assed attempts to be relatable or talk about his feelings. Charles thinks it’s unbecoming for the heir to the throne to cosplay a football hooligan or a bloke down at the pub. And I can only imagine Charles’s reaction to these undignified photos of William playing beach volleyball in Rio de Janeiro. These are not the ideal images for a future (Scooter) king. Of course, that scooter wasn’t an ideal image either, but I digress. Royal biographer Robert Jobson has a new book called The Windsor Legacy. Jobson has been “aligned” more with Charles and Camilla’s side of things for many years, and so you should take many of the excerpts from this book as Charles and Camilla narrating certain things. Notably, “sources” told Jobson that William was desperate to cut back his schedule in 2024:

How Charles has changed after his cancer diagnosis: He’s changed some of the habits that once seemed set in stone – largely due to advice from Dr Michael Dixon, a seasoned NHS GP and advocate of complementary medicine who was appointed head of the Royal Medical Household after Queen Elizabeth’s death. William, too, has urged his father to slow down and listen to his medical team. So Charles now takes regular afternoon naps. And he’s started having lunch again – often spinach soup – after skipping the meal for most of his life.

Charles was in a lot of pain before his diagnosis: Before being diagnosed with cancer, he’d been typically stoical about his mounting levels of pain. Months before, his condition had worsened so dramatically, says a senior royal aide, that a doctor was summoned. The King was given morphine (one of the strongest painkillers available), fitted with a catheter and taken to Aberdeen Hospital. The cancer, however, was not discovered until a few months later, in January last year, while doctors were in the process of treating the King for an enlarged prostate. A few weeks down the line, it was announced that the Princess of Wales was also suffering from an unnamed cancer. Having two leading members of the Royal Family struck down at once seemed a malign twist of fate – and Prince William was shaken to the core.

William goes to church more, despite all evidence to the contrary: As the year progressed, both he and Catherine became more religious. Never known as a regular worshipper, William now attends church more frequently than in the past, though as privately as possible.

William asked to do fewer events: Last year, he also told his father that he wanted to cut his own official royal engagements back to ten for the rest of 2024. But the King refused his request. ‘Think again,’ he urged.

Kate’s “cancer-free” video last summer: In September 2024, in a polished video directed by Will Warr, Catherine revealed that she had completed chemotherapy and hoped to remain cancer-free. The footage showed the Wales family affectionately enjoying time together in Norfolk, on the beach and in the woods, and many found it moving. Queen Camilla’s reaction? She was deeply relieved, of course, at Catherine’s recovery. But according to a senior Household source, she also joked with friends – very much tongue-in-cheek – that the video was ‘like a shampoo commercial’.

Underlying tension: These days, William and his father generally work well together. The King happily consults him, and largely trusts him to do what is right. But there is often an underlying tension between them. It doesn’t help that both have a fiery temper that’s not always held in check. Working for Charles, some staff say, can be like ‘treading on eggshells’. As for William, Palace sources recall all too well an incident when the prince was over-assertive with his father – over a matter that William had completely misinterpreted. Even senior aides are known to tread lightly around the prince, mindful of his mood swings before attempting to raise sensitive issues. William may always appear to be composed in public, but insiders describe him as occasionally ‘difficult to handle’.

[From The Daily Mail]

I love sitting back and watching Charles get the heir he deserves. Charles’s failings as a father writ large have set the stage for all of this – William’s laziness and rage, Harry’s exile, and an institution which is mostly limping along, collapsing in on itself in slow motion. Not to blame everything on Charles though – William is horrible and that’s on him. He’s a man in his 40s who recently had some kind of breakdown because… his brother visited England and did some charity work. Anyway, it’s just funny to watch these two men try to out-petty one another.

How an Actor’s Work Appeals to Both Casual Viewers and Dedicated Fans – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 November 2, 2025

Understanding the competing forces at work between the casual viewers and discerning fans of a performance gives one an idea of how complicated and strategic acting can be. Audiences search for authenticity and emotional clarity in one aspect, but interested in another, looking for different and more rewarded re-see portrayals. To balance those two is what takes an actor from good to unforgettable. On-screen presence and role diversity works with off-screen charisma, all speaking to the overall impact.

Whether it’s a character that mirrors real life or a surprising shift into an unexpected genre, for those familiar with Evan Roderick, it’s important to understand that each choice an actor makes can widen their reach and deepen their audience’s investment. These traits, explored across six interconnected themes, provide a closer look at how performance and perception combine to create lasting appeal.

Who’s Watching: Casual Viewers and Dedicated Fans

Casual viewers tend to watch shows or films for entertainment without closely following specific actors. They may not remember every character detail, but still appreciate a performance that feels natural and easy to follow. That ease of connection is often what keeps them watching, even if the storyline starts to drift.

Dedicated fans, on the other hand, often track an actor’s entire career, analyzing performances and revisiting past roles for hidden layers. Some even create online forums or fan edits that explore recurring mannerisms or thematic choices. Both groups bring value to a performer’s audience. An actor who can reach casual viewers with straightforward storytelling while offering deeper layers for loyal fans builds a broader and more lasting connection with them. Think of performers whose work sparks online discussions and also resonates during a first watch. This balance creates lasting interest.

Clear and Consistent Performances

When an actor delivers a performance that feels grounded and cohesive, it becomes easier for casual viewers to stay immersed in the story. They may not be analyzing every scene, but they recognize when a performance feels authentic and easy to follow. This clarity helps them stay connected without needing deep context.

Consistency also strengthens a character’s presence across episodes or scenes. Audiences respond when an actor maintains emotional tone, body language, and personality traits throughout. Performers like Tom Hanks or Sandra Oh often earn praise because their roles feel stable, believable, and emotionally accessible, which invites a wide range of viewers to return. That kind of consistency builds trust, and trust keeps people watching.

Layered Performances for Deeper Engagement

Many fans have shown interest in Evan Roderick’s performances because they reveal more with each viewing. Actors who use subtle expressions, controlled movements, or intentional silences invite closer attention. These layers make a character feel more complex and lived-in, sparking discussion and interpretation long after the credits roll.

Sometimes, a slight shift in gaze or tone can change the viewer’s entire understanding of a scene. Performers like Elisabeth Moss or Mahershala Ali often craft moments that reward a second or third watch. This kind of detail-rich acting creates a deeper emotional thread that devoted fans are eager to follow. It turns a performance into a puzzle, one that fans enjoy piecing together over time.

Crafting Relatable Yet Complex Characters

Audiences tend to connect most with characters who feel both familiar and unpredictable. When actors ground a role in real emotion, grief, joy, or hesitation, it becomes easier for viewers to see parts of themselves in the character. That emotional anchor draws casual viewers in, even if they are unfamiliar with the actor’s body of work.

At the same time, complexity keeps dedicated fans engaged. When an actor introduces contradictions or unresolved tension within a character, it opens the door for deeper analysis. Performers like Michael B. Jordan or Claire Foy often bring that layered humanity, someone who seems knowable, yet surprises you with quiet depth. That tension between familiarity and mystery fuels long-term interest and emotional investment.

Memorable Moments and Off-Screen Presence

A single standout moment can define an actor’s appeal across both casual and dedicated audiences. Whether it’s a powerful monologue or a perfectly timed reaction, these moments linger in conversations and clips long after release. They become emotional bookmarks for fans and casual watchers alike.

Beyond the screen, an actor’s public presence also plays a role. Interviews, social media interactions, and participation in fan events offer glimpses of personality that can deepen the connection. Actors like Pedro Pascal or Florence Pugh often maintain interest not just through roles, but through how they carry themselves when the cameras aren’t rolling. Their authenticity off-screen reinforces the credibility of their on-screen work.

Variety in Role Selection

Actors who take on a broad range of roles, like Evan Roderick, tend to keep their work feeling fresh. This unpredictability invites curiosity, allowing casual viewers to stumble upon them in vastly different genres. Shifting between comedy, drama, or even action shows ranges and avoids typecasting, which can limit longevity.

It also keeps dedicated fans engaged, as they’re constantly being challenged to see new sides of a performer they admire. Watching someone like Daniel Kaluuya move from indie dramas to blockbuster thrillers becomes part of the appeal, as the audience evolves with the actor’s choices. That evolution turns each new role into an event rather than just another credit on a résumé.

Rick Edwards says fatherhood has changed his presenting work for ever

This article first appeared in Radio Times magazine.

What’s the view from your sofa?

It’s a fireplace that I think I like, but I’m not completely sure about. It’s very ornate, with a wooden surround that incorporates a mirror above it. It probably dates from, and hasn’t been changed since, the 1920s. Then there’s the TV, which is small and probably temporary, and keeps tilting backwards because I mounted the little feet on it badly.

Sounds like you need a TV upgrade!

We left the TV that we loved in our old house because it was wall-mounted, was perfect in the space and it felt like a nice thing to do, to leave it for the next people. My wife Emer [Kenny, Karen Pirie writer and actor] and I really regret that now.

You began your career as a model — when did you realise you’re handsome?

I was a cute kid, I think, and then, from 10 to 16, which is the worst age for this to be the case, I was not a good-looking boy. At all. I wonder if, in those formative years, it was character-building. Then, around 17 or 18, the proportions of my face sort of settled down, and from that point, it’s been fine. It’s weird to go from being not-good-looking to, a couple of years later, getting scouted for modelling work. I did it when I was at university and just after. That was odd. I didn’t like it one bit. Aside from the models, who seemed fine, it’s an industry of a lot of not very nice people. I found it a bit grubby.

What’s the best TV programme you’ve watched recently?

Your Friends & Neighbours on Apple TV starring Jon Hamm. He’s great – the whole cast is good – and it has some quite interesting things to say about family. As a fairly new father, with anything that says anything at all about family and fatherhood, I am quite likely to cry.

How do you juggle family life and, among other things, 5 Live Breakfast?

It’s tricky, because both Emer and I work and I’m very conscious of ensuring that she still has all the time she needs to work. Trying to dovetail it all together is a complicated jigsaw. One good thing is that, although the hours of my job are horrendous, doing a breakfast show does mean I’m home in the day and I get to spend time with my son then. You have to make it work.

How ready were you for fatherhood?

It was definitely something we wanted to do, and I thought and read about it quite a lot. But there is absolutely no way you can be prepared for what it’s like. There’s a depth of feeling you really can’t get your head around before you experience it. It’s crazy how it’s massively heightened my emotional response to almost everything, because you just see everything through a new lens of: “What is that going to mean for his future?”

How has it affected your work?

My emotions are much closer to the surface, so when we have people on who have distressing stories, I’m very affected by them. In my first year doing 5 Live Breakfast, Russia invaded Ukraine. In those first few weeks, we were speaking to Ukrainians and it was like nothing I’d ever done before. It was completely overwhelming and I really struggled. I’ve definitely cried on air, and I think the audience kind of get that because it’s quite a human response, but you don’t want someone crying all the time.

How’s your relationship with your dad?

My dad was and is terrific. The world I live in is probably quite different from the world he lived in and lives in, but I still go to him for advice, even when I know he won’t know much about the thing I’m asking him, because I’m still interested to get his take. He’s a safe person for me.

What has surprised you most about becoming a parent?

Sometimes, being a parent is hard, sometimes boring, sometimes annoying. But you don’t let those fleeting emotions override the core emotion, which is “this is brilliant, this is special”. What it has made me realise is how much my mum and dad must love me.

EXCLUSIVE: Surbhi Chandna REVEALS Manifesting To Work With Ektaa Kapoor In Naagin

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Surbhi Chandna played the lead role alongside Sharad Malhotra in Ektaa R Kapoor’s Naagin season 5. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress revealed how she manifested this role. She recalled how she narrated the script to the producers. Scroll down to read what she said and watch the full interview.

Surbhi Chandna REVEALS Manifesting To Work With Ektaa Kapoor In Naagin

Speaking of her time shooting with Ektaa R Kapoor’s Naagin and if she was given any liberty while performing, Surbhi Chandna said, “Naagin ke dauraan mera sabse bada dukh yeh tha ki main apni manifestation mein likh chuki thi ki mujhe Balaji aur Ekta ma’am ke saath kaam karna hai. Aur tab tha saala COVID! Aur maine yeh bhi suna tha ki Ekta ma’am baith ke apni conference room mein sab narrations deti hain, and she is so passionate about her narration. We have heard all this while we have done shows and worked with other producers.”

She continued, “And I knew that ek din main Balaji ki heroine banungi. And it came in the form of Naagin 5. Mera narration hua tha vanity van mein with a laptop on Zoom Meet, and Ekta ma’am baithi thi, sab apne gharon ya apne spaces mein baithe hue the. And she narrated how her Naagin is supposed to be, how her performance is supposed to be. Aur mujhe uss show mein kabhi koi problem, complaint, ya demand nahi thi because it was a dream come true.”

Surbhi On Playing Naagin As Lead

Surbhi was shocked at getting the lead role. She said, “Of course, I wasn’t expecting it in the form of Naagin because it’s a very big responsibility. We have seen the best Naagins on television. Aur mujhe lagta tha shayad main justify nahi kar paungi. And I’m very real to myself, agar main nahi kar paungi, toh main nahi kar paungi. Mere yeh doubts the. But they were very confident. The season did okay, decently well. But of course, Sharad and my chemistry became a rage, and people loved us together. Toh aisa kabhi laga nahi.”

Concluding, the actress said, “But coming back to your question, jinke saath bhi maine kaam kiya, mujhe har show mein liberty mili hai. Producers have been kind enough to understand your viewpoint, even performance-wise and all that kyunki woh bhi jaante hain ki after a point, actor starts living the character on set. Aap 14 ghante uss character ko de rahe ho. Woh bhi ek thought leke aaye hain, hum bhi ek thought leke aaye hain.”

About Naagin

Naagin is an Indian supernatural fiction television series about shape-shifting serpents produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms.

The Droptines on Hard Work, TikTok, and Texas Country Music
Music

The Droptines on Hard Work, TikTok, and Texas Country Music

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

The Droptines were used to playing simple dive bars and rock rooms. Their worldview changed this summer when they went on an amphitheater tour with Whiskey Myers.

By the time the Texas roots-rock band’s opening run for Whiskey Myers ended with a sold-out show in Nashville earlier this summer, the five-piece — named after a deer’s antler that, through genetics or injury, grows downward — nearly had whiplash over how far they had come.

“It feels like an acid trip,” Conner Arthur, the band’s singer, tells Rolling Stone. “There will be a lot to unpack after it’s all done. I need to start journaling, because I feel like I’ve forgotten a lot already.”

The Droptines are Arthur, bassist Dillon Sampson, drummer Johnny Sheets, pedal steel player Tony Rincon, and guitarist Donny Parkinson. Collectively, they are a group of veteran musicians from the Texas Hill Country, heavy on Texas and Red Dirt, with a wildly prolific catalog they are hell-bent on sharing at every concert.

“If you look at our setlist, there’s a shitload of songs on there,” Arthur says. “We’re not dragging out a song that should be three minutes and making it nine minutes, relying on every lick our guitar player has. We punch in, and we punch out. We’re trying to sell the songs.”

A native of Concan, Texas, Arthur grew up “at the foot of the state” at House Pasture Co., a major venue in the Texas music scene, run by Arthur’s parents. He started taking music seriously as a teenager, leaving home at 18 and busking around the country for the better part of a year. He formed the Droptines in 2019 and released an EP, but the pandemic shelved any real growth until 2021.

The first few years of the band were “filled with dumb shit” as Arthur recalls now. The band took nearly any gig it was offered, even when travel costs outweighed the pay. Their approach, he says, was grassroots, aiming to win over fans one-by-one. The first place he recalls it taking hold was in Lubbock, Texas. The band celebrated the release of a single, “Bill of Sale,” at the Blue Light — a music room on Buddy Holly Ave. — in 2023, and were greeted with a full house.

Editor’s picks

“The biggest chapter turn was in Lubbock,” Arthur recalls. “We walked in the damn door and it was sold out. That’s when I went, ‘God almighty, this is working.’ People started paying attention after they saw that.”

“Bill of Sale” made it onto the band’s self-titled 2024 album, one which raised the group’s profile significantly. Once impressive shows — such as an afternoon set at the 2024 Jackalope Jamboree in Pendleton, Oregon, to an overflow crowd — became routine. This year, the group landed a slot at Bonnaroo as well as a pair of afterparties at Lollapalooza (one with Luke Combs and one with Wyatt Flores), plus runs with Dwight Yoakam and American Aquarium.

The Lollapalooza show, the group says, was apparently manifested by the guitarist Parkinson.

“We got the news we were gonna play Lollapalooza, and Donny was still asleep,” Sampson says. “I go upstairs, and I wake him up and say, ‘Donny! We’re gonna play Lollapalooza!’ and he opens his eyes and says, ‘I always knew I’d play Lollapalooza,’ and rolls back over and goes back to sleep.”

Such confidence did not extend across the group. Ahead of their show at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, Arthur admitted he wasn’t “used to this type of shit.” Success, he said, felt “like I stole something.” In the wake of the Droptines’ self-titled record, the calls from record labels began. Major outfits like Warner Records felt too big, but when representatives from Big Loud Texas showed up to a bar show in College Station, the group found its match.

Related Content

Big Loud Texas was co-founded by Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall in 2023, and, a year later, the imprint named Brendon Anthony, then director of the Texas Music Office, as vice-president. Immediately, Anthony and Randall realized they both had the Droptines on their radars.

“Conner is a special songwriter and frontman,” Anthony tells Rolling Stone. “That comes across to me on the releases and onstage. His mind and interests and talents — beyond music as well — are so unique. The band behind him is tightly in tune and gets more locked in as they tour.”

The group announced their signing by the label at their Nashville show, which coincided with the release of the single “Take Too Much.” The song combines love at first sight, drugs, and death. Arthur’s initial delivery of, “I met a girl and it’s too soon to talk about her,” over heavy electric guitar, is a chilling tone-setter.

At the end of September, the Droptines released the follow-up “Calling All Cars,” a cover of a Mike McClure (The Great Divide) song about an alcohol-fueled fatal car crash and its impact on the first responders. The group will spend the rest of 2025 alternating between a headlining tour of theaters, along with more of those high-profile opening slots, including dates with the Turnpike Troubadours, plus another show with Whiskey Myers at the rockers’ annual Moon Crush festival in Miramar Beach, Florida, on Nov. 7.

For the Droptines, it’s all the result of their on-the-grind mentality.

Trending Stories

“Hard work is hard for a reason. I’m not mad at anybody who went from TikTok to a tour bus right away,” Arthur says, “but I feel like what we’re doing has a little bit more dignity.”

Cardiothoracic surgeon says ‘every minute without defibrillation drops survival by about 10%,’ explains how AEDs work

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Defibrillators are life-saving devices designed to restore the heart’s normal rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest. They are widely available in schools, airports, gyms, and public spaces – but despite their accessibility, most people don’t know how to use them. However, even basic knowledge and quick action in an emergency can make the difference between life and death.

Dr Jeremy London, a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 25 years of clinical experience, is raising awareness about the crucial role defibrillators play in saving lives during sudden cardiac arrests. In an Instagram video shared on October 22, the cardiologist breaks down how defibrillators work, emphasising that swift action during a sudden collapse can be lifesaving.

How does AED work?

According to Dr London, an AED, or automated external defibrillator, is a simple device commonly found in airports, gyms, schools, and other public spaces – yet most people pass by without a second thought. In critical moments, however, knowing how to use one can literally be the difference between life and death.

The cardiologist explains, “An AED doesn’t restart the heart like you see in the movies. It works by delivering a quick electrical shock that depolarises the heart muscle, stopping the chaotic rhythm just long enough for the heart’s natural pacemaker to reset and start beating normally again. It’s used for sudden cardiac arrest when the heart’s electrical system goes haywire and stops pumping blood.”

Knowing how to use AED can save lives

Dr London highlights that time is of the essence when someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, hence every second matters. He stresses, “Every minute without defibrillation drops survival by about 10%. The good news, AEDs are fully automated and talk you through each step, where to place the pads, when to stand clear, and if a shock is actually needed.”

You don’t need to be a doctor to use an AED – “You just have to know where the AED is and have the courage to actually use it. Because when someone collapses, seconds matter. And you might be the one who saves their life,” emphasises Dr London.

“Let’s make it as cool as possible.” While making it look as realistic as possible! Every few months there is a discussion about visual effects and CGI and how Hollywood loves to hide the truth of how much work goes into each & every movie. The most outspoken advocate reminding people about CGI in movies is the social media maven Todd Vaziri – who also happens to work at the illustrious ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) in San Francisco. He’s always commenting on Twitter about how VFX happen, so Vanity Fair put together a video feature him discussing his work at the studio. “ILM’s compositing supervisor Todd Vaziri breaks down the methodical approach to the groundbreaking creations that have redefined the limits of our imagination.” He spends a few minutes on a handful of movies discussing the shots and his work on these shots, and how ILM created and finished each of these shots. It is one of the most interesting and entirely comprehensive breakdowns that actually shows what really goes into VFX shots these days. Todd has always said the most important aspect to making VFX look legit: shot composition. Which he talks about in depth in the video.

David Gilmour says there is “no possible way” he would work with Roger Waters again

David Gilmour has said there is “no possible way” that he would ever work with his former Pink Floyd bandmate Roger Waters again.

The two creative forces behind the legendary rock band have been publicly feuding for much of the time since Waters’ departure in 1985, with the dispute becoming political in recent years. Last year, Gilmour stated that he would rather “steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like Putin and Maduro” than reunite with Waters.

It appears that he has not softened his stance over the past 12 months. In a new interview with The Telegraph, he was asked what it would take for him to join forces with Waters again. “Nothing,” he replied. “There is no possible way that I would do that.”

Going into further detail in the 2024 interview, Gilmour explained: “Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK. On the other hand, I’d love to be back on stage with [Pink Floyd keyboardist] Rick Wright, who was one of the gentlest and most musically gifted people I’ve ever known.”

Gilmour’s wife Olly Samson has also been vocally outspoken against Waters’ politics, accusing him in 2023 of being “anti-Semitic to [his] rotten core” and “a Putin apologist and a lying, thieving, hypocritical, tax-avoiding, lip-synching, misogynistic, sick-with-envy, megalomaniac”. Gilmour re-shared Samson’s post, adding that “every word [is] demonstrably true”.

Waters himself issued a statement in response, in which he described Samson’s comments as “incendiary and wildly inaccurate”, adding that he “refutes [them] entirely”. He also said that he was “taking advice as to his position” regarding the claims.

Gilmour has also said he finds it “wearisome” to have to talk about Waters. “Do you know what decade of my life I was in when Roger left our pop group? My thirties. I am now 78. Where’s the relevance?” he told Mojo in 2024. In a Rolling Stone interview, however, he also stated that “one day there are things I will talk about”.

Elsewhere, Pink Floyd sold their back catalogue for $400million in a deal with Sony last year. Gilmour said it was a move driven primarily by his desire to “get out of the mud bath that it has been for quite a while”, rather than a financially-motivated decision.

Gilmour released the live concert film of his ‘David Gilmour Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome’ on Blu-ray on Friday (October 17), while a 50th anniversary edition of Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ is coming on December 12 as a deluxe box set.

Earlier this year, Pink Floyd achieved their seventh UK Number One album with their live record ‘Pink Floyd At Pompeii – MCMLXXII’.

The Patient Star: 25 Years Of Hard Work And Finally, A Filmfare Award! | Glamsham.com

Born to legendary Bollywood parents, he entered the film industry under immense pressure. After a rocky start, a breakthrough came with a 2004 blockbuster. He later delivered several commercial hits and earned a National Award as a producer. His personal life, including a high-profile marriage, often made headlines. After 25 years, he finally received a Filmfare Award for Best Actor, marking a story of resilience and quiet success.

Born on February 5, 1976, to film legends Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan came bearing daunting pressure to fulfill his father’s giant shadow. His 2000 debut in Refugee was not bad but reasonably successful. But his early years were a string of box-office duds.

Dhoom, the 2004 action film, was his money-maker as it was his first blockbuster and career-maker. It was followed by success with Bunty Aur Babli (2005) with Rani Mukerji and Guru (2007), both of which were successful at the box office though these performances yielded him no Filmfare Award.

Abhishek continued to add hits to his filmography in the shape of Dus (2005), Dhoom 2 (2006), Dhoom 3 (2013), Dostana (2008), Bol Bachchan (2012), Happy New Year (2014), and Housefull 3 (2016). He won a National Film Award as a producer in 2009 for Paa, and earned yet another feather for himself.

His personal life also hit the headlines. He became engaged to actress Karisma Kapoor in 2002, which was ended in 2003. He then fell in love with Aishwarya Rai when they were working on Dhoom 2. Abhishek and Aishwarya became engaged in January 2007 and were married on April 20, 2007. The two had a child, a daughter Aaradhya, on November 16, 2011. Despite passing rumors in the media, the couple is stable, frequently demonstrating publicly their respect for each other.

For years of unyielding commitment, Abhishek at last got his first Filmfare Best Actor award for I Want To Talk, the highlight of his 25-year-old career as an actor. His own is a testament to hard work, change, and humble success—both on and off screen.
