Organisers for cupboards, kitchen, bathroom, work desks and more: Store smarter for better efficiency

by jummy84 September 29, 2025

I often notice that clutter is not about having too many things but about not storing them in the right way. A well-chosen home organiser instantly changes how a space functions. An organiser for cupboard shelves prevents clothing from piling up, while a kitchen organiser ensures easy access to jars, spices, or cleaning supplies. Bathroom organisers keep toiletries in order and avoid the constant shuffle of bottles, and a simple table organiser can keep work desks productive.

The idea is not just about storage, but about creating systems that work quietly in the background. When each item has a place, efficiency follows naturally, and daily routines feel lighter and smoother.

Kitchen organisers

In a busy kitchen, the smallest detail matters. A well-placed kitchen organiser can save time during cooking by keeping utensils, spices, and ingredients within easy reach. I’ve seen how cluttered countertops reduce efficiency, while a tiered rack or pull-out tray frees up space and creates a logical flow. By grouping items according to use, cooking becomes less stressful and far more enjoyable. The right organiser doesn’t just store things; it helps the kitchen function like a finely planned workspace.

Bathroom organisers

Bathrooms tend to collect more items than we realise, from skincare to hair products. Without order, mornings can feel rushed. A bathroom organiser, such as wall-mounted shelves or corner caddies, helps sort these essentials by category. This avoids the scramble for a misplaced bottle while also keeping surfaces clean. I’ve noticed that clients often overlook vertical space, which is perfect for extra storage. Using smart organisers, the bathroom transforms from a cluttered zone into a calm and functional retreat.

Organisers for cupboards

Cupboards often look neat from the outside, but inside can be a jumble of clothes, bags, and accessories. An organiser for cupboard shelves or hanging compartments turns this chaos into order. Stacking jeans, dividing seasonal clothes, or assigning a place for shoes creates a visual system that simplifies everyday dressing. I find that once clients use these organisers, they save minutes every morning. It’s less about storage and more about creating an effortless routine that supports a smoother start to the day.

Drawer organisers

Drawers easily become dumping grounds, holding everything from receipts to accessories. A drawer organiser uses partitions to create clarity, so each item has a visible place. I often suggest them for kitchens, dressing tables, and offices because they reduce the time spent rummaging through mixed items. For example, neatly separated cutlery or jewellery brings calm to daily tasks. The subtle shift from mess to order saves energy and maintains tidiness. It’s a small tool with a surprisingly big effect.

Study table organisers

On a study desk, clutter can quietly disrupt focus. A study table organiser with pen holders, trays, or small shelves makes materials accessible without overwhelming the surface. I’ve seen how children stay more engaged when books, stationery, and gadgets have dedicated spots. For home offices, these organisers balance practicality with productivity by preventing the desk from turning chaotic mid-day. They’re less about decoration and more about shaping an environment where thinking, reading, and working can flow without unnecessary interruptions.

Dining table organisers

Dining spaces benefit from subtle order that doesn’t feel intrusive. A dining table organiser for cutlery, napkins, and condiments keeps the table neat while allowing easy access during meals. I often recommend compact caddies or trays that blend with the décor, avoiding constant trips back to the kitchen. This small adjustment brings ease to family dinners and makes hosting guests more pleasant. It’s about creating a setting where conversation takes centre stage, with essentials neatly arranged within reach.

Sylvester Stallone opened up about what it felt like to welcome Samuel L Jackson to the cast of Paramount+ hit series Tulsa King. Speaking about Season 3, the 79-year-old actor admitted he was initially nervous when he heard Jackson would be joining the crime drama.

“When I heard that was gonna happen, I went, ‘Oh, this is gonna be a fist fight. This is gonna be a battle,’” Stallone told People. Stallone added that it is like having two boxers in a ring, and wondering who would throw the first punch. “So you are getting nervous because you are dealing with serious competition,” he added.

Stallone plays Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi, a mafia capo building an empire in Oklahoma. Jackson, 76, joined as Russell Lee Washington Jr, an ex-con assigned to eliminate Manfredi.

Despite his early nerves, Stallone said any tension evaporated the moment Jackson arrived on set. He even joked that the two of them could even star in a spin-off together: Tulsa King and Buddy.

“We are good, we are flowing,” Stallone said, and explained, “We just worked that well together.”

Although this marks their first on-screen collaboration, Stallone revealed that they lived only a hundred yards apart in Los Angeles for decades, though their busy careers meant they only crossed paths at events, People reported.

Sylvester Stallone on Samuel L. Jackson’s confidence

Stallone likened Jackson’s presence to a heavyweight fighter stepping into the ring, praising his “relaxed confidence” and ability to command a scene. “That takes years to develop,” Stallone remarked, and added that Jackson ‘pops’ in the streaming format, according to another Gold Derby report.

Jackson, meanwhile, is also expanding within the franchise. He will lead a spin-off series titled NOLA King, where his character will return to Louisiana to establish his own criminal operation.

Sylvester Stallone on his journey

According to People, Sylvester Stallone reflected on how his journey evolved from being a struggling actor to becoming an Oscar-winning actor. “You are just trying to survive. You’re not really aware of the chaos it’s all enveloped in,” he said. “I told myself, ‘You’re probably not going to make it. But I don’t want to have any damn regrets. You give this decision 100%, not 99%.'”

Now, approaching his 80s, Stallone can look back and be proud of what he’s done and what he has left behind, reported People. “When you lay back and you’re looking [at your life], you just say, ‘Dear Lord, I tried my best. I didn’t hold back anything. So that’s really what my legacy is, that I didn’t quit.’”

What’s next for Tulsa King?

Season 3 of Tulsa King is currently streaming on Paramount+ with new episodes dropping every Sunday. The season also introduces Stallone’s daughter, Scarlet, in an expanded role and features new cast additions, including Kevin Pollak and Dana Delaney, Gold Derby reported.

Paramount+ has already confirmed a fourth season, signalling that Stallone and Jackson’s on-screen partnership could just be getting started.

Gastroenterologist reveals how long hours of sitting at work impact your gut health: ‘Causes bloating, constipation…’

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Long hours of sitting at a desk at work are red-flagged by medical experts because of the adverse effects on health, from back pain to heart health. It also negatively impacts your gut. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Senthil Ganesan, senior consultant, surgical gastroenterologist at SIMS Hospital, Chennai, revealed that beyond the commonly known obesity and metabolic disorders, long hours of sitting at a desk impact the gut seriously, especially the intestines.

ALSO READ: Acidity and bloating continue despite medications? Gastroenterologist reveals this reason behind common gut issues

Why is gut health at risk?

He explained the reason behind why the gut is at risk, “Our digestive system, especially the intestines, relies on regular movement, or peristalsis, to keep things flowing. When we stay still, gut motility slows down, causing bloating, constipation, and discomfort.”

Moreover, according to the doctor, prolonged sitting causes a ‘stagnation’ in your gut that heightens inflammation and makes you feel tired at work.

He further elaborated, “The gut is not just a tube that moves food from one end to another. It’s a complex system with muscles contracting in waves, nerves coordinating these movements, and bacteria aiding digestion. When we sit for too long, these muscles don’t get the workout they need. If your overall activity is low, things start to stagnate, especially after a high-calorie, fat-rich, modern diet. This stagnation in the gut can trigger inflammation, slow metabolism, and make you feel lethargic.”

What to do?

What is the best way to protect your gut health if you have a desk job that may include long hours of sitting? Dr Senthil Ganesan highlighted the value of taking frequent breaks, drinking water, and maintaining a high-fibre diet.

He said, “In addition to a daily workout at home, you should avoid sitting in one place at the office for more than 45 minutes. Even short, strategic breaks—like walking around the office or doing stretches—can help. Make a habit of standing up while taking phone calls. Drinking water regularly helps, as dehydration also slows down bowel movements and is a common cause of constipation. Many people turn to high-fibre diets to keep their intestines moving, but fibre alone can’t replace movement. ”

His advice was that if you are feeling bloated at work, start moving, such as stretching or standing during calls.

bitchy | Edward Enninful won’t work with Duchess Meghan again, doesn’t want to ‘repeat myself’

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Edward Enninful is trying to rebuild his career or do something new. Two years ago, he left British Vogue after a six-year stint as editor-in-chief which revolutionized the magazine. Before Enninful, British Vogue was pretty staid and not inclusive in the least. Enninful put women of color on the cover, he brought in the Duchess of Sussex to guest-edit the magazine (in what would become the highest-selling issue in the mag’s history), and he prioritized global fashion and more international models. It’s widely believed that Enninful left British Vogue after he made a play to replace Anna Wintour and he got outmaneuvered. Whatever happened, Enninful is only hinting at it these days. He’s launched his own media company, EE72, and he’s launched a new quarterly magazine, 72 (his birth year is 1972). To promote the new venture, Enninful gave a lengthy interview to the Times of London, and it’s worth talking about some of these quotes.

He doesn’t blame Anna Wintour for his departure from Conde Nast. “I feel I really changed Vogue, and my work was pretty much done. I’ll have fond memories but I was never going to do a lifetime’s service. I couldn’t have done what Anna has done.”

He swears he hasn’t fallen out with Wintour. “I text a bit. I had a great run at Vogue. I’m different; I don’t have rules. I have boundaries, but I allow creative freedom. I have no forbidden colours, though I don’t embrace colour myself. I prefer to hide and get on with the job.” What about British Vogue’s new head of editorial content, Chioma Nnadi? “She’s very competent,” he says, as icy as Wintour suddenly.

He isn’t focused on class: “I love King Charles and Queen Camilla — I went to the coronation with Katy Perry. I am happy to have them in the magazine. They care about the same things I do.”

The rise of sexism: “Women constantly need to be vigilant, and I am there for the fight. There is the manosphere, but that is not my world or reality — Andrew Tate is not my thing. But I think we must meet the young on their platforms to counter him, give them something else, more optimism. Gen Z are very interesting. They care about issues; they are curious. They need to be protected as they navigate this new online world and I want to do it with them.”

His comments about the Duchess of Sussex: That is what Enninful does so adeptly: he loves gossip, rarely falling out with celebrities in the highly fraught fashion world — the Duchess of Sussex is rumoured to be one of the few exceptions after she guest-edited the September 2019 edition of Vogue. He pauses. “Meghan and I had a great moment with the issue we did, but I feel like I have done it and I wouldn’t necessarily repeat myself.”

[From The Times]

Leaving the EIC position after six years because he felt his work was “done”?? Bizarre. Whatever happened – and we still don’t know – it feels less Game of Thrones and more like The Office, you know? Just petty office politics rather than a larger falling out. As for what he says about Meghan… curious wording from the Times and curious wording from Enninful. Earlier this year, there were some really odd stories about Enninful and Meghan falling out in 2022 because he wouldn’t give her a British Vogue cover or something. The nonsensical stories felt like they were coming from Enninful’s camp or they were happening with his approval. I strongly suspect that Enninful asked Meghan for a favor (something like, “will you appear on the cover, it would really help me out”) and she said no. I suspect that because he’s behaving like HE got jilted. Honestly, his public insistence that he doesn’t want Meghan for a cover shows that he’s a bad editor too, right? Like… why would you not want one of the most famous women in the world on the cover of your start-up magazine?

Fat loss coach warns this is why your joints hurt every time you work out: ‘It’s not just age’

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

As you are exercising, when your knees ache, you may often blame it on your age. But joint pain does not always originate from age. In many cases, it’s rooted in hormonal changes. Isaiah Fergusson, a sustainable fat loss coach, revealed in a June 18 Instagram post that the knee pain is a wake-up call for you to start training your body in tandem with the body’s functioning, not against it.

Knee pain is common when exercising. (PC: Freepik)

ALSO READ: Poor knee health in older adults: 5 exercises to improve joint strength

Hormonal causes

Estrogen’s fluctuation causes this. As the coach noted that when the estrogen levels fall, the body takes longer to recover from a workout. Now the tendons and ligaments of the knee lose their resilience and become more susceptible to strain.

Along with this, there are also risks of inflammation, causing more chances of injuries. Isaiah said, “Lower estrogen levels lead to a longer recovery period, your tendons will not bounce back the way they used to, estrogen has an impact on your tendon health, on your ligament health as well. Your body is also more inflamed than it has ever been in your life, so injuries will happen a lot easier and they will stick around for a lot longer.”

How to prevent?

So how do you prevent your ligaments and tendons from straining? According to Isaiah, the solution is to train the body in a way that supports it. He emphasised prioritising recovery time, along with adding anti-inflammatory foods to the diet, because inflammation around the knee may also cause pain.

He said, “So instead of training harder start training smarter, work on your mobility, work on getting stronger and recovering better, when you pair this with eating more anti-inflammatory foods, you will have less pain and more mobility in your joints.”

So, in other words, joint pain doesn’t mean you halt your workout. Instead, focus on smarter training, ensure you recover well, and choose a better diet.

Damon Lindelof Will Not Work With Disney Amid Jimmy Kimmel Suspension

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Damon Lindelof showed support for Jimmy Kimmel and said he “can’t in good conscience” work for Disney or ABC unless Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s suspension is lifted soon.

“I first heard Jimmy Kimmel on Kevin & Bean shortly after I moved to L.A. in my twenties. I was a fan of his goofy honest wit from the jump, and I never imagined we would one day be friends. I met him for the first time backstage at the ABC upfronts in 2004 … he had just seen The Lost pilot and dug it. He also said, ‘I hope you guys know what you’re doing,’” Lindelof began in an Instagram post shared on Thursday.

Lindelof went on to explain that he’s gotten to know Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, over the past “twenty years.” He also called McNearney, who serves as the co-head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel’s “better three quarters.”

He said that anyone who knows Kimmel knows that “he is caring and empathic and grateful.”

“You know he loves his country. You know he appreciates a good roast, and he can take as good as he gives. You know he supported his crew through multiple strikes, and you know he is generous and philanthropic and most of all, you know that he is kind,” Lindelof continued. “I was shocked, saddened and infuriated by yesterday’s suspension and look forward to it being lifted soon. If it isn’t, I can’t in good conscience work for the company that imposed it.”

Lindelof wrapped up the post by asking his followers if they “know the difference between hate speech and a joke.” He concluded, “I think you still do. And Jimmy? You’ve ALWAYS known what you were doing. Love you and support you.”

His vow to not work with Disney or ABC comes after he worked with the company for several years. Lindelof co-created ABC’s Lost, which ran from 2004 until 2010, alongside Jeffrey Lieber and J.J. Abrams. Additionally, he served as Lost‘s co-showrunner alongside Carlton Cuse.

Lindelof is currently an executive producer and writer of HBO’s DC series Lanterns. He last worked with Disney on a Star Wars film script in 2023 but later left the project.

In late 2022, he assembled a writers room to work on a top-secret Star Wars project, that eventually was revealed to focus on Daisy Ridley’s Rey and would be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. By March 2023, he had been replaced by Steven Knight and later said Lucasfilm asked him to depart the project.

It was announced that on Wednesday that Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been suspended following his controversial comments about Charlie Kirk’s murder. The news came just two days after Kimmel mocked MAGA Republicans for attempting to distance their own ideologies from those of Kirk’s suspected murderer, Tyler Robinson. Following the fatal shooting of Kirk on Sept. 10, the left and the right quickly pointed fingers at each other while trying to determine Robinson’s political views.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his monologue on Monday’s episode.

Rick Porter and Aaron Couch contributed to this report.

Buckingham Nicks Is the Work of Two Virtuosos Finding a Singular Voice: Review

Buckingham Nicks Is the Work of Two Virtuosos: Review

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were fresh Los Angeles transplants when they created their first and only collaborative album as a duo, 1973’s Buckingham Nicks. Released in September of that year, the album flopped and went mostly ignored by the public. One day, Mick Fleetwood stumbled upon one of Buckingham and Nicks’ recordings — “Frozen Love” — as his band wrestled with another lineup change, and he was quickly won over. The songwriting duo officially joined at the start of 1975, immediately contributed new songs to the band’s self-titled rebirth, and the rest is history.

But the process of making Buckingham Nicks, when the two were just beginning to realize their songwriting partnership, was less miraculous. According to the pair, Nicks took on the breadwinner role at the time, working waitressing and cleaning jobs while Buckingham stayed at home with guitar in hand, smoking weed and making music. They did this, apparently, because they both felt it would be best for Buckingham to not work and instead focus on his guitar technique and songwriting efforts.

That’s quite the arrangement. Obviously, in 2025, gender roles are more nuanced than they were in the early ’70s, but with both Buckingham and Nicks demonstrating serious ambition as songwriters, vocalists, lyricists, and instrumentalists, they had every reason for the survival workload to be equitable. The album they made is not just Lindsay Buckingham and not just Stevie Nicks. It’s both of them, shoulder-to-shoulder, skin on skin, like the album cover suggests.

But when listening to Buckingham Nicks, which will now be released into the world officially for the first time since its initial pressing in the early ’70s, you can also hear why the arrangement worked. Both Buckingham and Nicks were obsessing over craft, just in different ways. Buckingham’s virtuosic nature is more obvious, evident in spellbinding, fingerpicked passages and clever harmonic turns. Nicks, on the other hand, was developing something just as sophisticated: a vocal approach inspired by her late ’60s heroes in Grace Slick and Janis Joplin, with raw command and a capacity to depict a multitude of emotions within her lyrics.

These studied approaches meet on Buckingham Nicks, which has held a sort of mythological status among Fleetwood Mac devotees, but has been largely unavailable to casual listeners. Usually, debut albums from legacy acts like Buckingham and Nicks demonstrate a scrappier dynamic; even looking at Nick’s charged gaze and Buckingham’s untamed (and untrimmed) features on the album cover suggests a raw, adventurous work, imbued with the recklessness of youth and ambition.

But Buckingham Nicks is much more measured and unblemished than you might expect, an aspect further emphasized by the release’s newly-remastered audio. The remastering reveals just how polished these recordings were; Buckingham’s clean guitar tones on tracks like “Without a Leg to Stand On” shimmer with clarity, while the rhythm section (featuring top-shelf session players like Jim Keltner) provides a rock-solid foundation that sounds anything but amateurish.

This is especially apparent on the seven-minute closer “Frozen Love,” a majestic cut that features an moving string section and an extended bridge that burns with fiery emotion. The chords dissolve into one another as Buckingham plucks his guitar with bewildering speed, the urgency mirrored by growing dynamics and an expansive arrangement. Recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios with future Fleetwood Mac producer Keith Olsen at the helm, the album benefited from state-of-the-art equipment (including the studio’s new Neve console) and world-class musicianship back then; it sounds even more crisp and immersive now.

Condolences: Grammy-Winning Producer Sidney ‘Omen’ Brown, Known For Work w/ Beyoncé & Drake, Has Passed Away At 49

Very sad news.

Sidney “Omen” Brown, the Grammy-winning producer celebrated for shaping hits with Beyoncé, Drake, and Lil Wayne, has passed away at 49.

His mother, Martha Brown, confirmed the heartbreaking news after a relative discovered his body in his Harlem apartment. Staff at Barawine Harlem, a wine bar where he worked for over a decade, had grown concerned when he failed to report for duty.

“It is with shock and deep sadness we have heard about the passing of our dear friend,” the restaurant shared. “There are not enough words to express our feelings.”

Brown’s musical career took flight in the 2000s, working with Roc-A-Fella staples like Mýa and Fabolous. He earned his first Grammy for producing “Tell It Like It Is” on Ludacris’ “Release Therapy” album. His later credits include co-producing Drake’s “Shut It Down” and Beyoncé’s “Mine” featuring Drake.

Ethyl’s Bar, where he also DJed, remembered him as “a friend and family member” who will be deeply missed by all.

His cause of d*ath has not yet been revealed.

Prayers to his loved ones during this trying time.

Dietitian shares 5 diabetes-friendly food swaps that actually work: ‘Swap sugary drinks for infused water’

Managing diabetes comes with mindful dietary and lifestyle changes, but that does not mean giving up on all our favourite foods. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Archana Batra, dietitian said, “It means making smart, delicious swaps that help stabilise blood sugar and improve overall health. These simple changes focus on reducing refined carbohydrates and added sugars while increasing fibre, protein, and healthy fats.” Also read | Diabetologist shares 7 diet tips to keep diabetes, hypertension at bay: ‘Have more protein’

1. Swap white grains for whole grains:

Instead of white rice, white bread, or regular pasta, choose their whole-grain counterparts like brown rice, quinoa, whole-wheat bread, or millets. The fibre in whole grains slows down the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream, preventing sharp blood sugar spikes. This swap helps you feel fuller for longer and provides essential nutrients.

2. Swap sugary drinks for infused water:

Sugary sodas, juices, and sweetened teas are major culprits behind blood sugar fluctuations. A single glass can contain a massive amount of added sugar. Instead, swap these for water infused with fresh fruits like lemon, berries, or cucumber, or choose unsweetened teas. This provides flavour without the dangerous sugar load. Also, swap fruit juice for whole fruit. Fruit juice has a concentrated sugar content with none of the fibre of whole fruit. That fibre is what slows down sugar absorption. Opt for a whole apple, an orange, or a handful of berries instead. This gives you the full nutritional benefit, including the fibre, making it a much better choice for managing your glucose levels. 3. Swap starchy vegetables for non-starchy vegetables:

While all vegetables are healthy, starchy vegetables like potatoes and corn have a greater impact on blood sugar. Swap these out for a greater portion of non-starchy vegetables like leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, or bell peppers. These are low in carbs, high in fibre, and packed with vitamins, making them excellent for a diabetes-friendly diet.

4. Swap processed snacks for nuts and seeds:

Reaching for a bag of chips or crackers can lead to blood sugar swings. Instead, prepare a small handful of nuts (almonds, walnuts) or seeds (chia, flax). These snacks are rich in protein, healthy fats, and fibre, all of which contribute to satiety and help maintain stable blood sugar levels.

5. Swap tea-time snacks like chips and cookies with protein and fibre-rich options:

Instead of reaching for fried chips or sugary cookies, try healthier snacks like carrot and cucumber sticks with hummus, sprouts and pomegranate chaat, or kala chana chaat. These are loaded with fibre, protein, and essential nutrients that keep you full longer and help regulate blood sugar levels.
