“I’ve spent my entire life trying to escape… But after a few years, my life turned to shame… Maybe I could earn a second chance.” Apple TV has debuted another chilling full-length trailer for the forest fire thriller The Lost Bus, made by acclaimed director Paul Greengrass. After premiering at TIFF (to very positive reviews), it’s opening in theaters first this weekend – before streaming on Apple TV+ in October. Inspired by real events, The Lost Bus is a white-knuckle ride into one of the scariest wildfires as a school bus driver (played by Matthew McConaughey) and school teacher (America Ferrera) save 22 children from the inferno. It also explores what went wrong in California’s Camp Fire in 2018, America’s deadliest wildfire in a century (85 were killed), and how to prevent future tragedies, also including the story of a bus driver & school teacher who helped kids through the blaze. In addition to McConaughey & Ferrera, the cast includes Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, and Spencer Watson. Yet another haunting forest fire movie following Kosinski’s Only the Brave (in 2017) and Rebuilding Paradise about this same fire. This is the best trailer yet – better than other official trailer! Looking like it might actually be damn good. Greengrass delivering again.

Here’s the official trailer (+ two posters) for Paul Greengrass’ film The Lost Bus, direct from YouTube:

“You’re disgusting – these are my work clothes!” HBO Max has revealed the first official trailer for a kooky comedy series called The Chair Company, co-created by the comedy writers Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin (both worked for “SNL” for years). So this sees to be the spiritual sequel to the hilarious Friendship movie from earlier this year? The series stars Tim Robinson as a man who investigates a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident. The main cast includes Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, Joseph Tudisco, & Lou Diamond Phillips. With episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung, director of the film Friendship. So what did he discover? They don’t reveal in here – would could it be? This reminds me of a Charlie Kaufman comedy, it has very similar vibes to Being John Malkovich or even a bit of Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You. I hope it gets crazier & crazier as it goes on! Ready to watch and find out later this fall.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for HBO Max’s series The Chair Company, direct from YouTube:

The Chair Company Series Poster

The Chair Company is an 8-episode comedy series created and co-written by actor / comedian Tim Robinson (writer on “Saturday Night Live”, “Detroiters”, “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”) and writer Zach Kanin (also from “Saturday Night Live”, “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”). Featuring episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg. Made by Wolfmask, Inc., Zanin Corp, Hyperobject Industries. Executive produced by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, plus Andrew DeYoung, and Igor Srubshchik. HBO will debut The Chair Company comedy series streaming on HBO Max starting October 12th, 2025 with new episodes weekly through the end of November. Anyone interested in watching this?

New Trailer for ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ 4K Re-Release for its 40th Anniversary

by Alex Billington

Source: YouTube

“All I can remember… is the seven of us always together.” Sony Pictures has revealed a brand new trailer to celebrate the 40th Anniversary re-release of the 80s classic film St. Elmo’s Fire, a story about life and love and friendship made by Joel Schumacher. This is a big favorite among Gen Xers, an important film for the time – first released in June 1985. The Brat Pack is BACK. Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of St. Elmo’s Fire, newly restored in 4K and back in select theaters starting on October 17th this fall. A group of friends, just out of college, struggle with adulthood. Seven friends – Alec, Billy, Jules, Kevin, Kirby, Leslie, Wendy – are trying to navigate through life & their friendships following graduation from Washington DC’s Georgetown University while often at their ol’ dive known as St. Elmo’s Bar. Starring Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez, Mare Winningham, Andie MacDowell. Critics don’t seem to like this film much. One review states that the film reminds “us that the eighties were far, far worse than any of us can recall today, and by helping these monsters get their careers off the ground, we will be paying for our sins for decades to come.” Ouch! They’re not so bad. Anyone else enjoy this movie?

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Joel Schumacher’s film St. Elmo’s Fire, direct from YouTube:

St. Elmo's Fire Poster

The hottest young actors of the day star in this film about seven friends, recent college grads, searching for a place in “the real world,” as they face the issues of career & commitment. Leslie & Alex (Ally Sheedy & Judd Nelson) try to save a crumbling romance. Wendy (Mare Winningham), a shy virgin, hides a love for Billy (Rob Lowe), a reluctant father still searching for goals. Kevin (Andrew McCarthy) is a cynical writer who scorns love until he realizes he’s in love with his best friend’s girl. Kirbo (Emilio Estevez), law student, obsessively pursues an older woman. The beautiful, neurotic Jules (Demi Moore) paints a poignant picture of life in the fast lane. Against the backdrop of St. Elmo’s, their local hang-out, they save, betray and love one another as only the closest friends can. St. Elmo’s Fire is directed by filmmaker Joel Schumacher, his sixth feature film at the time after making D.C. Cab (1983) and before making The Lost Boys (1987). The screenplay is by Joel Schumacher & Carl Kurlander. This first opened in theaters in late June, 1985 during the summer – earning a solid $37M at the box office during its run. Sony will re-release Schumacher’s St. Elmo’s Fire film in 4K in select US theaters starting October 17th, 2025 this fall. Any big fans of this one?

Brooklyn Zombie Apocalypse Horror Film ‘Queens of the Dead’ Trailer

“It’s life or death!” “It’s both. It’s always both.” Brooklyn zombie mash! IFC Films has debuted the official trailer for a horror comedy movie called Queens of the Dead, a queer zombie comedy made by filmmaker Tina Romero (daughter of the legendary zombie master George A. Romero – who passed away in 2017). Drag queens and club kids battle zombies craving brains during a zombie outbreak at their drag show inside a warehouse in Brooklyn, putting personal conflicts aside to utilize their distinct abilities against the undead threat. The film premiered the 2025 Tribeca Festival – where it won an Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature – and later screened at the Fantasia Film Festival up in Montreal a few months ago. Queens of the Dead is now set to open in theaters starting in October (of course!) before it’s streaming on Shudder. The fun ensemble cast includes Katy O’Brian, Jaquel Spivey, Tomas Matos, Nina West, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Jack Haven, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Margaret Cho, Riki Lindhome, & others. This looks like some wacky, weird, wild and kinky horror fun even if it’s another familiar zombie riff.

Here’s the official trailer (+ posters) for Tina Romero’s film Queens of the Dead, direct from YouTube:

Queens of the Dead Poster

Queens of the Dead Poster

It’s Easter in Bushwick, and a different kind of resurrection is at hand… In Queens of the Dead, a zombie apocalypse breaks out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, & frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the brain-thirsty, scrolling undead. They’re all forced to resolve their differences and find a way to band together and survive. Queens of the Dead is directed by up-and-coming genre filmmaker Tina Romero, making her feature directorial debut after a few short films previously. The screenplay is written by Tina Romero and Erin Judge. Produced by Natalie Metzger & Matthew Lee Miller. This initially premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, and also played at the Fantasia Film Festival earlier this year. IFC Films debuts Romero’s Queens of the Dead horror in select US theaters starting October 24th, 2025 this fall. Who’s in?

Watch ‘The Diplomat’ Season 3 Trailer: Allison Janney as President

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Tensions ratchet up in the latest official trailer for the third season of Netflix‘s The Diplomat, as viewers eagerly await the Oct. 16 premiere of the next set of episodes.

Kicking off with what looks like the immediate aftermath of President Rayburn (Michael McKean) dying at the end of season two, the preview sees staffers informed of his death and that the commander-in-chief was on the phone with former ambassador Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) when he died.

Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) soon learns that Hal was telling her boss that he had a “rogue deputy,” as Hal puts it, alluding to Grace’s involvement with the British warship attack that launched the series.

Hal and his U.K. ambassador wife, Kate (Keri Russell), then consider the risks of Grace as a “terribly flawed” president and the possibility of Kate keeping an eye on her in the White House, but Kate seems uninterested in the “opportunity” that Grace’s presidency presents.

“I’m not walking around in the middle of a constitutional crisis with a résumé stapled to my forehead,” Kate says at one point.

And soon the international stakes grow higher as viewers see British Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) warning Kate about Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) “concealing explosive information on [her] behalf,” saying he will extract “10 pounds of flesh.”

And Kate declares that the president, seemingly Grace, is “about to do something that is apocalyptically dumb” as Hal and Grace consider something “catastrophic” possibly “coming out.”

The trailer, offering the most substantive look at the season yet, then suggests larger tensions between the U.S. and the U.K. as a voiceover informs viewers of the Pentagon “drawing up battle plans for war with the U.K.”

Kate is shown saying, “I am doing everything I can, but there is a limit.” Meanwhile, Trowbridge declares, “I expected more from you.”

And, leaving viewers in suspense, Nana Mensah’s chief of staff Billie advises someone, “You should get a lawyer.”

The trailer and key art that Netflix released today tease that “no alliance lasts forever.”

After a shorter, six-episode second season, The Diplomat‘s third season will feature eight episodes, which Netflix describes as follows: “In season three of The Diplomat, Ambassador Kate Wyler lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want. She just accused Vice President Grace Penn of hatching a terrorist plot and admitted she’s after the VP’s job. But now the president is dead, Kate’s husband Hal may have inadvertently killed him, and Grace Penn is leader of the free world. None of this slows Hal’s campaign to land Kate the vice presidency. Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected, an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (Gyasi), and an unnerving bond with first gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).”

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about the end of season two and beginning of season three, Sewell teased that things soon get complicated.

“The end of season two is one thing but very quickly even more extraordinary things happen,” he told THR before the season two premiere, as season three was already in production, last fall. “Allison Janney coming in, the dynamics of the story after what happens at the end of season two really gives us some extraordinary things. Also it changes dynamics that might have been in danger of playing out. And it’s getting really complex.”

The Diplomat has already been renewed for a fourth season at Netflix.

Debora Cahn, who created the show, serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Russell, Janice Williams, Alex Graves, Peter Noah and Eli Attie.

The cast includes Ali Ahn, Ato Essandoh, Celia Imrie and Miguel Sandoval.

“You can’t avoid the inevitable. The universe is always going to find a way.” Stan in Australia has revealed the amusing official trailer for a romantic comedy movie called One More Shot, a time loop New Years Eve party story about a woman trying to win over a guy. This premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Film Festival recently and will be out in Australia next month, but has no US release date just yet. An end-of-millennium house party becomes an endless, tequila-fuelled time loop in this funny film starring Emily Browning. Armed with a bottle of time travelling tequila, Minnie arrives at a swanky beach house on New Year’s Eve, 1999, only to discover that her former flame Joe, has brought his new girlfriend. When Minnie takes a shot and is suddenly transported back to the moment she arrived at the party, she soon realises she has a bottle’s worth of chances to win Joe’s heart. But as she tries to rewrite the night, things quickly spiral out of control and no matter what she does or how many times she resets, she can’t escape herself. Also starring Aisha Dee, Sean Keenan, Hamish Michael, Ashley Zukerman, and Pallavi Sharda. This looks fun enough to watch, though the tequila swig concept is clearly going to get out of hand at some point. Get a look below.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Nicholas Clifford’s film One More Shot, direct from YouTube:

One More Shot Trailer

One More Shot Trailer

On New Year’s Eve, in 1999, with Y2K anxieties in the air and “Coco Jamboo” on the radio, anaesthetist Minnie (Emily Browning) jumps at the chance to attend a party with her ex Joe – whom she still hasn’t gotten over. But everything goes wrong when she realises he’s there with a new girlfriend. One swig from a bottle of tequila after midnight and, in the blink of an eye, Minnie has travelled back in time to the start of the party – a process that, she discovers, repeats with every drink she takes. Each do-over presents a new opportunity to fix her mistakes or compound them further. But will any of them allow her to win back Joe’s heart, or understand what it means to live with the consequences of her actions? One More Shot is directed by Australian filmmaker Nicholas Clifford, making his first feature film after the “Monologue” TV series and many other shorts previously. The screenplay is written by Alice Foulcher & Gregory Erdstein; from a story by Heather Wilson. Produced by Virginia Whitwell, Nick Batzias, Elise Trenorden, Jim Wright. This just premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Film Festival last month. Stan debuts Clifford’s One More Shot film streaming on Stan in Australia starting October 12th, 2025. No US release date is set yet. Look fun?

“This is will be for you now… You are going to die tonight. Unless you give it what it wants.” Paramount+ has revealed the first official trailer for a brand new original horror creation called Vicious, the latest from filmmaker Bryan Bertino, creator of The Strangers franchise and director of a few other indie horror films as well. Vicious will premiere at Fantastic Fest 2025 later this month before it’s streaming on Paramount+ to watch in October for horror season. A woman spends the night fighting for her own existence as she slips down a rabbit hole contained inside a gift from a late-night visitor. It comes with simple instructions if she wants to live – place three things inside: something you need, something you hate, and something you love. Starring Dakota Fanning as Polly and a very creepy Kathryn Hunter, along with Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, Devyn Nekoda, Klea Scott, and Emily Mitchell. So, from this tease it seems like Hunter is just another victim of this box, and an evil supernatural force is hiding inside this box, controlling people to give it what it wants? Yep seems like a wicked cool concept for a horror movie – check it out below.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Bryan Bertino’s horror thriller Vicious, direct from YouTube:

When Polly (Dakota Fanning) receives a mysterious Box from an unexpected late-night visitor (Kathryn Hunter), it comes with a simple instruction: place three things inside: something you need, something you hate, and something you love. What begins as a strange ritual quickly unravels into a waking nightmare. Trapped in a terrifying world where reality bends and memory betrays, Polly must navigate a series of impossible choices. As time slips away, she’s forced to confront the darkness not just around her, but also within her—before it consumes everything and everyone she’s ever known. Vicious is written and directed by acclaimed American genre filmmaker Bryan Bertino, creator of The Strangers franchise, and a director of the films Mockingbird, The Monster, and The Dark and the Wicked previously. It’s produced by Richard Suckle. This is premiering at Fantastic Fest 2025 this month. Paramount will then debut Bertino’s Vicious movie streaming on Paramount+ starting October 10th, 2025 during the spooky season. Who’s intrigued?

“An intimate look at Ozzy’s final act.” Paramount+ has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled Ozzy: No Escape From Now, available for streaming in October. After 76 years rocking this planet, John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne passed away in July. This doc about him will be released posthumously celebrating his life & his final years anyway. “The last six years have been full of some of the worst times I’ve been through. There’s been times when I thought my number was up… But making music and making two albums saved me. I’d have gone nuts without music.” Directed by filmmaker Tania Alexander, the doc began filming in early 2022, during the recording sessions making his 13th studio album, the 2x GRAMMY Award-winning Patient Number 9. He played his final show in July 2025, dying only 17 days after the Back to the Beginning farewell concert. This doc features full access to Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne and their children, and a host of key contributors in his life – all of whom help deliver a human view of a man who remains a hero to millions. An emotional farewell for fans, and final thank you from Ozzy, for all the years of rock ‘n roll glory.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Tania Alexander’s Ozzy: No Escape From Now, from YouTube:

Addressing his health issues and impact of his Parkinson’s diagnosis, the film showcases the central role music continues to play in Ozzy’s life, also proving his mischievous sense of humor remains resolutely intact despite it all… Ozzy: No Escape From Now is a documentary film directed by producer / filmmaker Tania Alexander, directing her first project after producing many others including “Seven Days”, “Girlfri3nds”, “Gogglebox”, “It’s Showtime”. Made in partnership with the Osbournes and MTV Entertainment Studios. Exec produced by Bruce Gillmer, Amanda Culkowski, Phil Alexander, and Sharon Osbourne. “Find forgiveness!” “Why should I do the forgiving?” Time for X-Mas fun! True Brit Ent. has revealed the first official trailer for a musical comedy Christmas movie called Christmas Karma – from the acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha (best known for the films Bend It Like Beckham, Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging, Blinded By The Light). I’m a big fan of Chadha and her films (and her musicals) so I have to say I’m curious to see how this out plays. Take Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol story, add heaps of British musical and acting talent, and you have a modern film set in vibrant, diverse London. Told from Chadha’s unique point of view and in her own distinctive style – starring actor Kunal Nayyar as Eshaan Sood, the Ebenezer Scrooge of this modern “It’s a Wonderful Life” story in the UK. The whimsical cast includes Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Boy George, Danny Dyer, Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, Charithra Chandran, and Hugh Bonneville. With music from Gary Barlow, Nitin Sawhney, Shaznay Lewis, Ben Cullum, Panjabi MC, Jassi Sidhu and Malkit Singh, the film features an eclectic soundtrack influenced by gospel, bhangra, carols, rap and classic pop songs. You will not be able to sit still! 🎅 The “festive, feel-good event of the year” opens in UK cinemas in November. Though still no US release set. A bit too British for American audiences?

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Gurinder Chadha’s musical Christmas Karma, via YouTube:

Christmas Karma Trailer

Christmas Karma Poster

An early Xmas gift… Christmas Karma sees ones of the greatest novels – Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol – transformed into a joyous, colourful, feel-good Christmas musical that celebrates modern-day London and all of its communities and cultures. Told from Chadha’s unique point of view and in her own distinctive style, the film resonates with Dickens’ masterful statement on the human condition, exploring themes of prejudice, acceptance, reconciliation, identity & belonging. Inspired by Frank Capra’s timeless “It’s A Wonderful Life”, Christmas Karma is a festive British classic for our times, and for generations to come, that promotes a strong message to be kind, choose love and celebrate the present. Christmas Karma is directed by acclaimed British-Indian filmmaker Gurinder Chadha, director of the films Bhaji on the Beach, What’s Cooking?, Bend It Like Beckham, Bride & Prejudice, Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging, It’s a Wonderful Afterlife, Viceroy’s House, and the musical Blinded by the Light previously. The screenplay is also by Gurinder Chadha; based on “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. Produced by Gurinder Chadha, Celine Rattray, Trudie Styler, Amory Leader. True Brit Ent will debut Chadha’s Christmas Karma movie in UK cinemas starting November 14th, 2025 this fall. No US opening is set – stay tuned. Look any good? 🎄
