Peaches Announces Tour and First Album in 10 Years, Shares New Song: Listen

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Peaches is back with a new song, along with the announcement of a tour and her first album in a decade. The follow-up to her 2015 album Rub is called No Lube So Rude, and it comes out on an unspecified date next year. “Not in Your Mouth None of Your Business,” recorded with producer the Squirt Deluxe, is out right now, and you can listen to it below.

The North American tour kicks off in February, 2026, with support from Model/Actriz and Cortisa Star. A dollar from each ticket sale will go to Trans Justice Funding Project, via Plus1.

Peaches says of the new music, “When the world is friction, lube isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. It’s how you turn that friction into pleasure, into power, into pride. I want people to understand that they can still have a voice no matter who they are or what the world says about them. Now more than ever, there are so many forces that just want you to give up and be quiet. If this album can help you resist that, then that’s what it’s for.” The video description adds that it is “a chant
for trans and queer autonomy.”

FKA Twigs reflects on “catastrophic” North American tour cancellation

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

FKA Twigs has reflected on the “catastrophic” fallout that followed the cancellation of her North American tour earlier this year.

  • READ MORE: FKA Twigs – ‘EUSEXUA’ review: a lust-fuelled insight into what it is to be human

Back in spring, Twigs took to social media to inform fans that a handful of upcoming shows in the United States and Canada were being scrapped due to visa issues, and later revealed that the “ongoing” visa problems meant the remainder of North American dates, including festival sets at Coachella and Axe Ceremonia, would be cancelled.

Reflecting on the situation, the British singer-songwriter recently told The Hollywood Reporter that scrapping the tour was financially “catastrophic” for her business, and marked “one of the most painful times” in her career.

“Just the emotional and physical and financial ramifications that fell on FKA Twigs the business was catastrophic. All I wanted to do was perform in front of my fans – go to Mexico and do Coachella and tour America. The creative on that show was brilliant. We worked so hard on it, and it all slipped through my fingers like sand.”

She went on to explain that the mistakes were not within her control and said she was “kept in the dark” about how bad the situation was because it wasn’t her remit.

“The flights and the visas and the stage advancing, none of it was done. And I don’t know how to do that because it’s not my job. But you know what? I’ve learned a lot,” she added. “Now I know about buses and freighting; how many days it takes to get from New York to Mexico in a truck; how to get through customs.”

After the tour fell through, Twigs went on to house nine of her dancers in her London home as they worked together to rework the show.

“My back was against the wall, and I came out kicking,” she said, adding: “We lived together and danced and trained and brought the show back to life. … I felt like I was weathering a storm and I turned something really horrific into something positive.”

Twigs went on to embark on a tour of Europe and the US between May and August, and is now confirmed to perform at Coachella next year.

Having brought ‘EUSEXUA’ to the capital with two headline shows at Magazine, her set scored a four-star review from NME, who said described it as a “typically artful performance”.

As for the record itself, NME gave ‘EUSEXUA’ a glowing five-star review, writing: “Twigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience.

The artist and NME Godlike Genius winner first announced the follow-up to her Mercury-nominated 2025 record ‘EUSEXUA’ back in August, with ‘EUSEXUA Afterglow’ set for release on November 14 via Atlantic/Young. You can pre-order/pre-save here.

The Cure add huge Cardiff show to 2026 UK and European summer tour

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cure have just added a huge Cardiff show to their 2026 UK and European summer tour.

The goth rock legends announced their new tour on September 30, where they’re set to kick off on June 26 at Dublin’s Marlay Park.

After travelling to Belsonic in Belfast on June 28, they’ll stop off at Manchester as part of Live From Wythenshawe Park’s summer series on August 21, before heading off to Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showgrounds on the 23rd. They’ll also play two outdoor shows in Berlin’s Parkbühne Wuhlheide on July 10 and 11.

Now, The Cure have unveiled a huge Cardiff show to take place in the Blackweir Fields on June 24. The Twilight Sad and The Joy Formidable have been hand-picked by Robert Smith to support The Cure on the day.

Pre-sale will commence on October 16, 10am here, with general sale following on October 17, 10am – get your tickets here.

No London dates have been announced so far, but it’s rumoured the band will play a huge show at the Royal Albert Hall.

WALES! NEW DATE IN CARDIFF BLACKWEIR FIELDS!
FANS SIGNED UP TO THE MAILING LIST WILL GET PRE-SALE ACCESS! REGISTER AT https://t.co/eRO5OrC1Oy pic.twitter.com/TKoNgQJZxF

— The Cure (@thecure) October 10, 2025

The Cure’s 2026 UK and Ireland headline shows are:

JUNE
24 – Blackweir Fields, Cardiff

26 – Marlay Park, Dublin
28 – Belsonic, Belfast

JULY
10 – Parkbühne Wuhlheide, Berlin
11 – Parkbühne Wuhlheide, Berlin

AUGUST
21 – Live From Wythenshawe Park, Manchester
23 – Edinburgh Summer Sessions, Royal Highland Showgrounds, Edinburgh

Along with their headline dates, The Cure have been announced for a slate of festivals, including headline slots at Rock En Seine, Primavera Sound, and Isle Of Wight Festival.

They’ve also been announced to play Øya, Nova Rock, Rock Werchter, and Open’er festivals.

It will be their first dates together since their show at London’s Troxy last November, an intimate gig with just 3,000 fans in attendance – including Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong, Radiohead‘s Ed O’Brien, Boy George, Mogwai‘s Stuart Braithwaite, and Pedro Pascal.

Smith previously revealed there was another new album that’s “virtually finished” – with a third new record also on the way.

Excitingly, Smith also shared he wanted to finish one of those albums before they start touring, suggesting that it may be released before they officially hit the road in August.

So far, their most recent record is ‘Songs Of A Lost World‘, which we gave a whopping five stars: “The 10-minute opus of ‘Endsong’ – always intended as the album closer – circles back to that full stop from the start: how we’re all ultimately dust and “left alone with nothing at the end of every song”. Merciless? Yes, but there’s always enough heart in the darkness and opulence in the sound to hold you and place these songs alongside The Cure’s finest.

“The frontman suggested that another two records may be arriving at some point, but ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ feels sufficient enough for the wait we’ve endured, just for being arguably the most personal album of Smith’s career. Mortality may loom, but there’s colour in the black and flowers on the grave.”

Rush announces 2026 reunion tour with 2 Canadian dates in Toronto

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Original Rush band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced that they’re planning a reunion tour for the iconic Canadian band in 2026.

It’s the band’s first shows since the R40 tour in 2015 and drummer Neil Peart’s death in 2020.

The tour, called the Fifty Something Tour, will celebrate Rush’s music and legacy as well as Peart’s life, according to the band.

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil,” said Lee. “A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we f–king miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration.

“So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of Rush songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.”

“As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again.”

Rush will perform multiple shows in seven cities across Canada, the United States and Mexico, beginning June 7, 2026 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Rush Announces Reunion Tour To Celebrate Life Of Drummer Neil Peart

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, co-founders of the classic rock band Rush, have announced the band’s first tour in 11 years. The 2026 “Fifty Something” tour will, in the words of the band, celebrate Rush’s “music, legacy and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.”

The tour, with German musician Anika Nilles taking drum duties, launches Sunday June 7 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the first of two nights there.

See below for full tour itinerary.

In a lengthy statement (read it in full below), Lee said, “It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music. So in 2026, my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.”

Peart died in January 2020 of glioblastoma.

The 2026 tour is being undertaken with the full support of Peart’s widow Carrie Nuttall-Peart and daughter Olivia Peart, who said in a statement, “We are thrilled to support the Fifty Something tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist.”

After the two dates in Los Angeles, the Fifty Something tour will then go to Mexico City for one show, followed by two-night stands in Fort Worth, Chicago, New York and Toronto. The tour ends on September 17 with a single concert in Cleveland.

The band also announced today a 50-track super deluxe anthology, RUSH 50, available in five distinct configurations, including the (1) Super Deluxe Edition, (2) RUSH Store Exclusive Super Deluxe Edition, (3) 7-LP Deluxe Edition, (4) 4-CD Deluxe Edition, and (5) Digital Edition. The career-spanning anthology includes the first-ever reissue of their 1973 debut single and concludes with a live recording the final song Lee, Lifeson, and Peart played together during the 2015 R40 Tour closer at The Forum.

Among the band’s many hits are “Tom Sawyer,” “Fly By Night” and “New World Man.”

Here is Lee’s full statement:

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.

“Yet life is full of surprises, and we have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated RUSH fanbase, whom, we know, will give her every chance to live up to that near impossible role. Before we hit the stage, we also hope to add another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps.

Lerxst, Anika and myself, along with many of our longstanding crew members have been hard at work rehearsing and designing the kind of RUSH show you’ve grown accustomed to expect from us. We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate our history together.”

And here is the Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart statement:

“We are thrilled to support the Fifty Something tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist.

“Neil’s musicianship was singular. Compositions of intricacy and power that expanded what rhythm itself could express. As both drummer and lyricist, he was irreplaceable. Inimitable in his artistry, and unmatched in the depth and imagination he brought to the lyrics that inspired and moved so many, he profoundly shaped how fans connected with him and the band, giving voice and meaning to their own lives.

“As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again.”

Paul McCartney "Got Back" Tour in Las Vegas: Review
Music

Paul McCartney “Got Back” Tour in Las Vegas: Review

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The past feels very present for Paul McCartney — at least in the way he talked on stage about those he’s lost during the Las Vegas stop on his “Got Back” tour. “Let’s hear it for John,” he said the first time he mentioned the late John Lennon, like Lennon was waiting in the wings, about to come out and duet with him. “Let’s hear it for George” came as he swapped a guitar for the ukulele George Harrison once gave him, which he then used to plink out a stripped-down version of “Something.”

That ukulele performance of “Something” represented one of the few quiet moments of the show, as McCartney’s goal was to keep the crowd on its feet for, as he proclaimed early on, “the biggest party in Vegas.” It perhaps wasn’t quite as raucous as that (perhaps because the crowd demographic leaned heavily towards people who were calling my 40-something ass “young lady”), but McCartney without question delivered a great two-and-a-half-hour hang without a single break in the music.

Get Paul McCartney Tickets Here

The October 4th, 2025 show at Allegiant Stadium blasted open with the nuclear-powered energy of “Help!” — notable given that the “Got Back” tour is the first time McCartney’s performed the song live in 35 years — and it’s hard to imagine a better way to get a crowd on its feat and ready to dance. From there, McCartney promised that the setlist for the evening would include “some old ones, some new ones, and some in between.” That said, his definition of “new” proved a bit loose just a few minutes later, when he launched into “Come On to Me,” released in 2018. “Relatively new,” he said wryly. “It’s new enough.”

Related Video

However, considering the full scope of the 83-year-old’s career, 2018 is new enough. And lest one forget just how long McCartney’s been rocking, he leaned hard into the early days by going even further back than his time with The Beatles for The Quarrymen’s “In Spite of All the Danger.” Before it began, he took a moment to remember those early days in Liverpool, being a young man with his mates recording their very first song. “They did quite well for themselves,” he said with all the earned smugness in the world.

After “All the Danger” came The Beatles’ first track for EMI (that’s the way McCartney introduced it), “Love Me Do,” which remains the same burst of pop sunshine it’s been since 1962. Otherwise, vibe rather than chronology really drove the song order, with the show hitting its most melancholy moments with an elegant rendition of “Blackbird.” For that track, McCartney rose up on an elevated platform that put the full focus on him and his guitar (the band largely taking a break otherwise). It was one of several subtle choices in the stage design that kept the action dynamic without distracting from the music.

Then, McCartney shifted to “Here Today,” the song he wrote for Lennon after Lennon’s death, musing about how hard it is to say “I love you” to your friends. At which point, acknowledging that “now that we’ve plunged the mood to zero,” he performed the “newest” song of the night, “Now and Then.” He concluded with a note of gratitude: “Thank you, John, for writing that beautiful song.”

After that, though, the vibe shifted as McCartney banged out “Lady Madonna” at a technicolor upright piano, followed by a switch to guitar and the exuberant Wings song “Jet.” Other Wings songs featured during the night included “Let ‘Em In,” “Band on the Run,” and of course “Live and Let Die,” which was accompanied by enough pyro effects to put a WWE main event to shame. The literal fireworks being set off on the stadium stage were so loud, in fact, that McCartney literally crouched down and covered his ears for the final blast.

Following “Live and Let Die,” with the smell of gunpowder still in the air, McCartney launched into “Hey Jude” as the pre-encore closer. One really can’t prepare oneself for the experience of hearing an entire damn stadium sing “na-na-na-na” in unison, led by the man who gave us that gift of a song.

McCartney kept engaged with the audience throughout, with the occasional pause to check in with the crowd: At one point, he took a beat to read out some of the signs being held up, people cheering for someone attending their 122nd show. To the person whose sign asked him to autograph “my butt,” he quite fairly said, “No… that’s pushing it.” And he shared a smile of delight with the fan whose sign said I Was at Shea Stadium. His cheery reply: “So was I!”

The backing band knew the assignment and played with world-class skill without drawing focus: Guitarist Brian Ray had some quality solos, and you could tell that drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. was having a fantastic time, a huge grin on his face as he used his drumstick to conduct the audience sing-along on “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.”

They helped ensure that there was a real sense of play throughout the night, such as the way McCartney ended “Let Me Roll It” with an impromptu cover of “Foxy Lady,” a tribute to “the late, great Jimi Hendrix,” who McCartney recalled seeing perform live in London very early in his career, in a small club. There were only a few people at that early Hendrix show, McCartney said, but a few nights later, when Hendrix played again, word had spread and the place was packed. As for McCartney himself, it’s a bit sad to note that his vocal abilities have not aged as well as one might have hoped. Yet that becomes a secondary concern after watching him bring the enthusiasm of a 20-year-old country star to a twangy rendition of “I’ve Just Seen a Face.”

McCartney kicked off the encore with “I’ve Got a Feeling,” which he performed as a duet using the recently remastered footage of Lennon from Peter Jackson’s Get Back. “I like that song,” he said simply when it was over, “because I get to sing with John again.”

Lennon and Harrison may be gone. But perhaps the reason McCartney speaks about them like they’re still here is simple: For him they’re still alive, through the music they once made together. The music that will outlive us all.

India is becoming increasingly the focus for international music, and 2025 looks set to be an annus mirabilis for fans. Following hot on the heels of news that John Mayer will be touring India, global EDM phenomenon Calvin Harris has been confirmed to play his eagerly awaited debut in India.

The Grammy-winning Scottish DJ and producer will play in two key cities under a special tour tie-up with Sunburn. Calvin Harris will make his debut live performances in India at Mumbai on November 8 and Bengaluru on November 9, 2025. Tickets will go on a limited pre-sale for chosen credit card members beginning October 6 at 12 PM IST, followed by general ticket sales from October 8 at 12 PM IST, only on BookMyShow.

Harris, with his energetic performances and international hits, is likely to deliver an experience never to be forgotten to Indian audiences. Fans await his performances of hit songs like “We Found Love,” “One Kiss,” “Outside,” “Summer,” “Blame,” “This Is What You Came For,” and his recent hit “Blessings.” These concerts are likely to attract huge fan bases as Harris displays his skills as a DJ and songwriter that have earned him a place among the most prominent voices in the international EDM industry.

Calvin Harris started off in music with his debut album I Created Disco in 2007 and has since been churning out hits and collaborations in galore. His high-energy style and worldwide popularity make him an ideal addition to India’s fast-growing list of international acts.

On the personal front, Harris wed British TV and radio host Vick Hope in 2023. The couple had their first child, a boy, in August 2025, bringing a new chapter in his life after music.

With this tour, Indian fans are going to get to see one of the largest names in EDM perform live for the very first time.

Paper trail: Take a tour, in photos, of government offices across five continents

Dutch photographer Jan Banning, 71, has a new photobook out, his 16th, titled Bureaucratics Revisited.

His previous works have ranged, in theme, from war crimes, sex crimes and the aftermaths of genocide to effects of World War 2. This one picks up where his sixth book, Bureaucratics (2008; co-authored with journalist and writer Will Tinnemans), left off, capturing stirring portraits of bureaucracy in eight countries across five continents: Bolivia, China, France, India, Liberia, Russia, the US and Yemen.

The book and its sequel offer a dramatic take on government and how States present themselves to their citizens. Shot over five years, from 2003 to 2007, his subjects range from chief secretaries in ornate offices to lowly clerks with just a makeshift desk to their names.

“My experience in India is something I will never forget,” he says. Excerpts from an interview.

* Why revisit Bureaucratics today?

Civil service offices are places where the government presents itself to its citizens, using symbols and paraphernalia to showcase their power. At the same time, these offices are a kind of communal living space for those who spend a significant portion of their time there — whether working or not. This reflects in some of the personalised backdrops.

But what’s interesting is that this is also a world that no longer exists. This project and these books are now a record of a simpler world, a historical account of a time when outsiders were not viewed with as much suspicion, not even in government offices. A world in which cameras were not viewed with suspicion. This stark difference is an important one.

In most countries, we were considered completely harmless. Today, just getting the permissions in many countries would be next to impossible.

* What were some of the most surprising things you saw, as you made your way unannounced through these offices?

There were stark economic differences. In parts of Bolivia, the police didn’t even have vehicles. The homicide squad in Potosi, Bolivia, would travel to crime scenes by bus.

In some remote areas in this country, the police were also breeding rabbits and chickens to add to their food because they got paid so little.

In Liberia, there was so much poverty that sometimes there was only one chair, or officials had bought their own desks. You could see “Private Property” written on these desks.

* What countries were the hardest to secure permission in back then?

There were various levels of difficulties for each country.

China was a nightmare, and I think the reason was that people there were intent on making sure their country was presented only as they wanted it to be presented.

It also took very long to figure out how to get permission in the US, but then in the end it turned out to be very simple: Each individual civil servant is the one to give permission.

In the stunningly beautiful Yemeni capital of Sana’a, we found ourselves, four mornings in a row, stuck to leatherette cushions in the office of the PR manager at the ministry of information. The deputy minister refused to sign our travel permits. A simple display of power? Fear that we’d ridicule his country? Whatever the reason, he did eventually sign.

* What stood out for you in India?

We chose Bihar because we didn’t want to go to any country’s capital, where systems are generally more organised. We got in touch with a social scientist in Patna, through a common connection in Holland. When we reached his house, he began to draw on a blackboard in his back garden, diagrams to help us understand the Indian bureaucratic system.

After about 15 minutes, he was completely lost. He had no idea where he was or how to continue anymore! That’s what made India special; there’s utter chaos.

We eventually headed to the Old Secretariat in Patna. The front entrance was flanked by two guards, so our contact took us through the back entrance, which was unguarded. And we were in, just like that. We got permission to shoot there, and we later shot in other districts such as Jehanabad and Kishanganj too.

In one office there was a sort of typewriter graveyard. We were told that the typewriters were waiting for people. About 40% of the department’s positions were vacant.

In 2004, the photo series on the bureaucracy in India won a World Press Photo award.

* You’ve said Russia offered surprises too.

As in India, the government officials in Russia were very forthcoming, in 2004. I don’t think that would be the case now. After getting permission from the Russian government, we photographed offices in Tomsk Oblast in Siberia, in the dead of winter.

What surprised us was the extreme poverty in the villages. When we went, temperatures were at -20 degrees Celsius in Siberia. Many people had left to search for a better life in the cities, and the remaining ones sometimes used the wood from those abandoned houses for fuel. It was hard to even witness that level of poverty.

* You ended the project with China, in 2007. What was that like?

We planned to shoot in Shandong province, in their foreign ministry department. But every day, we would be taken to a director’s room. He would lecture us on how amazing the province was, and we were forced to take pictures of him so as not to seem impolite.

When we asked to take photographs of the other workers in the office, he always seemed very surprised. Then, after a while, we would be ushered into some room where the floor has just been mopped and two women were sitting at brand-new-looking laptops. The walls were empty. It felt like a set-up, but we had to photograph it.

We were there for four weeks, and couldn’t figure out a way to take pictures of the people actually working in the offices. It turned out they feared words more than cameras, so Will and I eventually divided and conquered. When he was interviewing people, the attention was on him, so I slipped out to photograph other people. That’s how we finally got our pictures.
