Lazarus cast | Who stars in Harlan Coben’s Prime Video thriller?

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

If there’s one thing Harlan Coben has become known for in the TV stakes, it’s tense thrillers that leave you guessing until the very last moment.

While many of his fans are familiar with his shows on Netflix, the acclaimed author has created an entirely original series – which is not based on one of his novels – for Prime Video: Lazarus. It’s not the first time Coben has partnered up with the streamer, with his now-cancelled Shelter series adapting one of his hit young adult books.

This time round, Coben’s story revolves around Sam Claflin’s Joel Lazarus, who returns home after his father Dr Jonathan Lazarus (Bill Nighy) dies by suicide. But when he does, he starts to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained and soon starts to get embroiled in a series of cold-case murders.

Speaking about bringing the story to life for the screen and not in a book first, Coben said: “I thought about it for a little while as a novel, but even though it’s not necessarily supernatural, it has a supernatural feel to it. And I saw it really visually and graphically and just thought, ‘Maybe this would be a really cool TV series.’”

But who’s who in Lazarus? Read on to find out about the cast of the new Prime Video drama.

Lazarus cast: Who stars in Harlan Coben’s Prime Video thriller?

The full cast list for Lazarus is as follows, scroll on to find out more about the main characters plus the actors who play them.

Trailer #2 for ‘The Old Woman with the Knife’ Sneaky Korean Thriller

“It may look dull… but it still does the job.” Well Go USA has debuted another new trailer for the film The Old Woman with the Knife, a Korean assassin dark thriller from filmmaker Min Kyu-dong. We already posted the first trailer months ago and it opened in select US theaters back in May – this new trailer is for the VOD release (on November 25th). An aging female assassin with a knack for taking out society’s worst encounters a young protégé eager to learn the trade – who has his own secrets. As they form a surprising & unexpected bond, the veteran killer discovers fresh purpose in her twilight years of violence and routine. Actress Lee Hye-yeong plays Hornclaw – a legendary assassin now in her 60s who specializes in “disease control,” or getting rid of “human vermin,” for over 40 years. Perhaps because she is getting older, she feels a strange compassion for the doctor who treated her. Also starring Kim Sung-cheol and Kim Mu-yeol. Another underrated, underseen action thriller that I recommend watching – it’s slick, stylish & entertaining. Most of all, Hornclaw is such a badass. Watch it just for her! Catch this film at home starting in November.

Here’s the second US trailer for Min Kyu-dong’s film The Old Woman with the Knife, from YouTube:

You can rewatch the first official trailer for The Old Woman with the Knife right here for more footage.

Aging assassin “Hornclaw” (starring Lee Hye-yeong) has seen it all, but she never expected to mentor a reckless rookie like Bullfight. As their unlikely bond deepens, cracks form in the underworld they navigate together. When Hornclaw discovers someone wants her dead, she’s thrust into a deadly game of deception. With enemies closing in and trust in short supply, survival means staying sharp—both blade and mind. The Old Woman with the Knife, also known as 파과 or Pagwa in Korean, is directed by acclaimed Korean filmmaker Min Kyu-dong, director of the movies All for Love, Antique, The Chase, The Last Blossom, All About My Wife, The Treacherous, Herstory, and The Prayer previously. The screenplay is written by Kim Dong-wan-II and Min Kyu-dong. Produced by Min Jin-soo. This initially premiered at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, and it also opens in Korea this week. Well Go USA will debut The Old Woman with the Knife in select US theaters starting May 16th, 2025 coming soon. For more info, visit their official site.

“Her music will lead us into the future.” “No pressure.” Chroma has revealed the official trailer for an indie thriller film titled Decibel, the second feature directed by producer / filmmaker Zac Locke. After originally premiering at a few genre film festivals last year, it’s now set for US release on VOD starting in November this fall. “Decibel is exactly the kind of daring, inventive story Chroma stands for.” Locke explains more of his intent: “We set out to make a film that’s as thrilling as it is thought-provoking, exploring what happens when art and technology collide.” She’s not just listening… 🎧 What is she doing? When a struggling singer-songwriter gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a tech-obsessed music producer, her art and life are put in peril as she is forced to help create the perfect AI music algorithm. The tech horror-thriller stars Aleyse Shannon, Stefanie Estes, and Colby Groves. It looks like it has some intriguing ideas, but won’t amount to much. Less about AI more about a vicious producer trying to utilize this musician for her benefit.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Zac Locke’s sci-fi thriller Decibel, direct from YouTube:

Decibel follows a struggling singer-songwriter named Scout (Aleyse Shannon) who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a tech-obsessed music producer. Her art and life are put in peril as she is forced to help create the perfect AI music algorithm. Beyond its sci-fi storytelling, Decibel also boasts a strong and distinctive soundtrack. The film features original songs by Caitlin Scholl and music production by Groves. Shannon performs her own vocals, all of which were recorded live on set, lending rare authenticity & emotional weight to the film. This authentic use of music and sound earned Decibel the Best Sound Award at FilmQuest. Decibel is directed by producer / filmmaker Zac Locke, director of the film Santa Isn’t Real previously, plus a few short films, and a producer on many other films. The screenplay is written by Stephen Christensen and Matt Wise. It’s produced by Jordan Michaud-Scorza, Matt Wise, Stephen Christensen, Zac Locke. This initially premiered at the 2024 Abertoir Horror Film Festival in Wales last year. Chroma debuts Locke’s Decibel thriller direct-to-VOD starting on November 7th, 2025 this fall. “She’s just warming up.” Uh huh, sure she is. Vertical has debuted the official trailer for a film titled Stone Cold Fox, an action thriller 80s throwback marking the feature debut of filmmaker Sophie Tabet. The film is being released in November on VOD right away, which is a sign there’s not much to be excited about with this. In this ’80s revenge story, the defiant Fox breaks out of an abusive commune in search of her family. But when the queenpin kidnaps her little sister and sends a crooked cop after her, Fox has no choice but to infiltrate the very place she escaped and take them down. The director explains: “I grew up on gritty ’80s action-thrillers, so getting to make my own audacious thrill-ride with a fearless partner like Vertical [the distributor] is a dream come true. I’m endlessly grateful to the incredible cast & crew who brought this labor of love to life.” Starring Kiernan Shipka, Kiefer Sutherland, Krysten Ritter, Mishel Prada, Karen Fukuhara. It seems way more like an SNL spoof comedy than real action thriller. Not even worth a glance.

“I found it…” “Where’s the rest of it?” Aura Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a movie called Ice Fall, an action thriller made by filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky (best known for The Counterfeiters movie in 2007). Alas this is another of these junky action movies being dumped direct-to-video like the old days, but now that just means out on VOD right away. And, surprise surprise, it doesn’t look any good. The story revolves around a young Native American game warden who captures a notorious poacher only to learn that the poacher is aware of the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake. When criminals & corrupt cops close in, the unlikely pair must fight to survive & escape across the ice. This stars Danny Huston, Joel Kinnaman, Graham Greene, Frida Gustavsson, and DeVaughn Nixon. Aside from this being a Cliffhanger ripoff, this whole movie looks absolutely awful… Not even VOD worthy.

Also known as The Priest 2: Dark Nuns, it’s a spin-off of the 2015 film The Priest. Starring Song Hye-Kyo, Jeon Yeo-Been, Lee Jin-Wook, & Moon Woo-Jin. Vicious: Dakota Fanning Faces A Terrifying Psychological Mystery In Paramount’s Upcoming Thriller | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

According to the official production notes from Paramount Pictures, Vicious is an upcoming psychological horror film starring Dakota Fanning as Polly, a woman whose life spirals into terror after receiving a mysterious box from a stranger late one night. The only instruction that comes with it is chillingly simple: place three things inside, something you need, something you hate, and something you love.

While the premise sounds deceptively small, what unfolds is far from ordinary. As Polly follows the instructions, her world begins to twist in disturbing ways. Reality fractures, memories blur, and she finds herself in an ever-tightening web of psychological horror. What begins as curiosity soon turns into survival as Polly faces not only an external evil but also the darkness within her own mind.

The film is directed by Bryan Bertino, known for The Strangers, and produced by Richard Suckle and Bertino himself. The supporting cast includes Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, Devyn Nekoda, Klea Scott, and Emily Mitchell, each playing a part in what is rumored to be a story full of tension and emotional depth.

Though we do not know the full scope of the plot yet, Vicious is being described as a psychological descent that plays with the ideas of guilt, grief, and the human need for control. Early discussions around the project suggest that it may rely more on atmosphere and emotion than traditional jump scares, making it one of the most anticipated thrillers of the season.

Vicious releases on October 10, 2025, and will remain in theaters through early 2026. Based on available information, it appears to combine Bryan Bertino’s signature psychological tension with Dakota Fanning’s emotional range, setting the stage for a gripping and haunting cinematic experience.

Based on official Paramount Pictures production notes and publicly available information.
