Ginger Owl team completes 30-week wellness challenge

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Ginger Owl Productions has shown its commitment to employee well-being by rewarding the team with a spa break after they completed an ambitious 30-week health and wellness challenge.

From 1 February to 31 August, the Ginger Owl team were challenged to complete a goal every day or week to help prioritise their health and well-being during the busy period of events.

Across 211 days, the team’s achievements included:

  • 1,382,894 steps walked collectively
  • 8,440 squats completed
  • 4,220 minutes of meditation
  • 7.5kg total weight lost across the team
  • 11 laptop-free weekends
  • 413 alcohol-free days
  • 52 hours dedicated to creative writing
  • 96 early nights prioritising sleep
  • 3,660 minutes spent outdoors
  • 62 personal training sessions
  • 13 Pilates classes
  • 533 steps climbed up Cologne Cathedral spire

As recognition for their hard work over the summer, the team were also treated to a two-day team meeting and spa getaway at Hoar Cross Hall in Burton upon Trent last week.

During the past year the team has also implemented its new GOAllAreas platform across more than 30 events across the UK and Europe, including the BRIT Awards 2025, British Summertime Festival, VE Day 80, Fashion Awards, and F1 75 Live at The O2.

Ginger Owl co-founder Nancy Skipper said: “We find that our team has difficulty achieving their work/life balance over the hectic summer months with challenges around sleep, food and frequent travel between sites and events. We came up with the Wellbeing Challenge as a way to promote small changes within the team, and the key point was to pick something that maintained consistency.

“We didn’t want them to set unachievable targets, just something small that could be done every day or week that allowed them time to focus on their own wellbeing and encouraged them to choose what would be the greatest benefit to them.  You can see from the list that they selected a huge variety of challenges and we’re so happy to see the success they all had.”

Fellow co-founder Julie Chennells added: “We have had a really busy year so far, particularly with the rollout of GOAllAreas, and with the awards season and the festive period fast approaching, it was great to all get together to reflect on the year’s achievements and thank the team for their hard work with a little bit of R&R.”

Diddy’s legal team seeks immediate release ahead of sentencing – National

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs urged a judge to sentence him to no more than 14 months in prison for his conviction on two prostitution-related charges, which would result in his near-immediate release if the judge grants the request.

In a written submission, Combs’ legal team said he has already been punished enough.

“Mr. Combs’s celebrity status in the realms of music, fashion, spirits, media, and finance has been shattered and Mr. Combs’s legacy has been destroyed,” his legal team wrote to Judge Arun Subramanian, who is scheduled to decide the disgraced hip-hop mogul’s sentence on Oct. 3.

“He has served over a year in one of the most notorious jails in America—yet has made the most of that punishment. It is time for Mr. Combs to go home to his family, so he can continue his treatment and try to make the most of the next chapter of his extraordinary life.”

In the 182-page sentencing memo, his lawyers argued for Combs’ release as he has already served nearly 13 months in a Brooklyn jail.

“To achieve specific deterrence in this case, a sentence of no more than 14 months is ‘sufficient, but not greater than necessary’ to achieve the goals of sentencing,” his lawyers wrote.

The court filing also provided new information about what Combs’ life has been like during his nearly 13 months behind bars, describing intense surveillance by guards and at least one threat of violence.

“Mr. Combs’s near-13 months in prison has been life changing, productive, and a testament to his desire to return to his family and community and lead the best life possible,” his lawyers wrote. “He has taken the time to achieve necessary rehabilitation from day one at the MDC (Metropolitan Detention Center) — including getting clean of all substances.”

Combs’ life in prison has been harrowing at times, his lawyers said.

On one occasion, an inmate approached Combs with a shiv — a makeshift blade — and accused Combs of sitting on his chair, the lawyers wrote. Combs calmed the man down, the lawyers said.

Combs heats his drinking water because he doesn’t trust that it is clean and must sleep within two feet of other inmates in a dorm-style room containing a bathroom with no door, the lawyers wrote.

“Mr. Combs has not breathed fresh air in nearly 13 months, or felt sunlight on his skin, often walking with a limp due to a painful knee injury that requires surgery,” they said.

Prison has also allowed Combs to become sober for the first time in 25 years, his lawyers wrote.

“Without minimizing Mr. Combs’s conduct, this is in many ways a ‘sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll’ story,” they said.

Combs has created a program in jail, called Free Game with Diddy, in which he is “inspiring and helping other inmates,” his lawyers said in the filing.

The program is a six-week course, “which is an educational program designed to equip participants with essential skills in business management, entrepreneurship and personal development,” the legal filing stated.

“Despite many professional successes in Mr. Combs’s life, he counts his Free Game course as one of the most impactful and important endeavors of his life. He hopes to continue with and expand and improve upon this curriculum in the future,” his lawyers wrote. “His goal is to implement this program on a grander scale upon his release with programming to extend to youth in the community as well as in state operated facilities.”

Combs’ lawyers quoted the rapper as telling a probation officer that he once thought “success and money gave me freedom to do whatever I wanted to do with no real consequences.”

“I used to call myself a king. But I didn’t act like a king. I didn’t act like a man. This situation has made me become a man, a man who knows and understands his responsibilities,” Combs said, according to the lawyers.

Letters from more than 75 of Combs’ associates

Combs’ lawyers included letters from different associates of the rapper, including his family members and his ex-girlfriend, Caresha Brownlee, also known as rapper Yung Miami.

“I believe it’s important for the court to know the side of Sean that isn’t always seen or spoken about — the man who poured into others, who gave opportunities, who led by example, and who loved deeply,” Brownlee wrote.

Brownlee shared details about her three-year relationship with Combs, who she described as “loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging.”

“He helped shape me both professionally and personally. He believed in me, pushed me to grow, and taught me how to be a better businesswoman,” she wrote.

Brownlee added that she truly believes Combs “belongs at home, with his family, the people who mean the most to him and who continue to be his greatest source of purpose and strength.”

“Judge.. That’s a good man,” Brownlee’s letter concluded.

Combs’ son, Christian, 27, also submitted a letter to Subramanian, asking him to “please let my father out of jail.”

“We have been through a year of lies and discrimination and dehumanization and loneliness and separation and extreme stress on the family,” Christian wrote.

“This is my dad and he is the best father in the whole world. He has never ever taught me anything but to treat people with the most respect possible and to never be entitled and to always work for what I want and to treat people with love and kindness most importantly.”

Christian said his father is the reason he has a career in the music industry and credited him for the person he is today.

“Please let my father out of prison! He does not deserve to be there and has already been in jail for a year!! This has been the worst year anyone could ever go through,” he added.

Combs’ sentencing takes place Oct. 3

On July 2, Combs was found guilty of two counts of prostitution. Prosecutors said he arranged for paid sexual encounters between his girlfriends and male sex workers.

The Bad Boy Records founder was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

Combs’ lawyer Marc Agnifilo asked that Combs be released on conditional bail to his home in Miami and offered a US$1-million bond. Prosecutor Maurene Comey countered, saying to Subramanian that Combs should remain in jail until sentencing.

Comey also said the government will seek a 20-year maximum sentence for Combs.

Prosecutors have yet to submit their final recommendations for a sentence, but in a previous court filing, they said his “extensive history of violence” and attempts to minimize his conduct demonstrate that he is still a dangerous person.

Combs’ sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3.

Neil Young, Beck, Lana Del Rey Team For Benefit Show

written by jummy84

Neil Young is bringing back his Harvest Moon benefit concert at the Painted Turtle Camp in Lake Hughes, Ca., and will welcome Beck and Lana Del Rey for the 2025 edition on Oct. 25. Young launched the event in 2019 as the successor to his annual Bridge School Benefit concerts, which he organized with his late wife Pegi.

Proceeds from Harvest Moon benefit not only the Bridge School, which supports children with severe speech and physical disabilities, but the Painted Turtle, which offers “transformative camp experiences” for children with serious medical conditions.

Young will perform with his band the Chrome Hearts, while marima ensemble Masanga will reprise their role as the first act of the day. Tickets are on sale now.

“This gathering, where music, nature and purpose come together, is a powerful celebration of hope and community,” says Painted Turtle executive director April Tani. “It’s an opportunity for all of us to support two extraordinary organizations making a real difference in children’s lives.”

Previous Harvest Moon performers have included John Mayer, Father John Misty and Norah Jones. In 2024, Young was joined by former bandmate Stephen Stills for a set of solo, Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young songs.

The Avett Brothers, Mike Patton Team For First Album

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Yes, you’re reading this correctly: the Avett Brothers have teamed with eclectic Faith No More/Mr. Bungle vocalist Mike Patton to form AVTT/PTTN, whose self-titled debut album will be released Nov. 14 through Thirty Tigers in association with Ramseur Records and Ipecac Recordings. The lead single, “Eternal Love,” can be sampled below.

The musicians are said to be longtime mutual fans of one another and birthed the nine-song effort by trading ideas from coast to coast. “Mike’s part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth,” says Scott Avett. “Literally, we studied him. He’s a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.”

Adds Patton, “My peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit. They brought him out years and years later.”

AVTT/PTTN was produced by Patton, Scott Avett and engineer Dana Nielsen. It runs the gamut from the Avett Brothers’ stripped-down folk/roots sound to something more propulsive and unusual, as heard on songs such as “Heaven’s Breath” and “The Ox Driver’s Song.” “This is what art is,” says Scott Avett. “This is what making is supposed to be: in secret and with no ambition.”

There’s no word yet whether AVTT/PTTN will perform the new material live, but for now, the Avetts have a handful of fall shows on their schedule, including their bespoke Moon Crush Avett Moon festival in Miramar, Fla., on Oct. 3-5.

Netflix Team Meet Allu Arjun and Atlee, Sparks Speculation Over AA22XA6 Digital Rights

written by jummy84

Scale, genre and budget — these are the three elements that strike us when we talk about Allu Arjun’s upcoming film with director Atlee. Ever since the film was announced in April, the project garnered global appeal for the kind of VFX that’s being integrated into the narrative. In fact, top studios in the West have already spoken high about the content… making the film one of the most anticipated ones. While the team of AA22XA6 (working title) recently wrapped up its Mumbai schedule, here’s an interesting scoop about the project. Streaming giant Netflix has reportedly expressed willingness to acquire the digital rights of the film.

Netflix to buy digital rights to Allu Arjun’s film?

There’s so much being written about Allu Arjun’s new film AA22XA6 under director Atlee. The anticipation grew so much that a team from Netflix flew down to Hyderabad recently. The team met Allu Arjun, Atlee, Allu Aravind (Allu Arjun’s father) and had a lengthy discussion about films, filmmaking and how Indian cinema has been shaping up. But their dialogue wouldn’t have been complete without the mention of AA22XA6. According to reports from Tollywood circles, the OTT streaming giant evinced interest to buy the digital rights of the Allu Arjun-starrer. Apparently, the team from the streaming giant has been holding discussions with several top names from the South Indian film industry. And when the team met the unit of AA22XA6, it sparked major speculation.

“Allu Arjun’s film unit has reportedly quoted a whopping for the OTT rights. The streaming giant too was game to shell out considering the film’s budget, genre and of course, Allu Arjun’s growing global appeal. While the official deal is yet to be completed, the discussions are still at preliminary stage. But after the picture of team posing with Allu Arjun and Atlee emerged on social media, fans predict that Netflix will seal the deal,” says a source in the know.

The team behind BST in Hyde Park announce huge new ‘Roundhay Festival’ in Leeds

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

A huge new music festival has been announced for Leeds’ Roundhay Park by the team behind BST Hyde Park.

Set to become a central fixture of the north of England’s cultural calendar, a press release for the new festival promised it will host some of the music world’s biggest names, with the first headliner set to be announced soon.

The legendary Roundhay Park has already got a storied history with live music, having played host to the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Rolling Stones and, most recently, Ed Sheeran.

Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, Roundhay Festival will deliver a sizable economic boost to the local area, and will also run a midweek programme of free-to-access
activities for all ages, offering high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities as well as providing a platform for local talent at the park during the summer.

Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said the park was a “fabulous setting” for concerts, adding that the festival would “act as a wonderful showcase” for the city.

“The park is a fabulous setting for concerts, as legendary artists like Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stones will know from their own fondly-remembered appearances there,” he continued. “It’s also a much-loved part of the fabric of life in Leeds, so it’s fitting that this event will be doing as much as possible to support local vendors, suppliers and staff.”

“Roundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy. I’m sure music fans, not just in Leeds but across the region and beyond, will agree with me when I say ‘roll on next summer’.”

Organisers AEG Presents, who also run London’s BST Hyde Park, have said they plan to bring premium festival experiences and world-class performances to Leeds.

“Everyone at AEG is thrilled to announce the launch of the Roundhay Festival in Leeds,” Jim King, the CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, said of the news.

“This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans, while building on the park’s incredible musical legacy. Roundhay Park already holds an extraordinary place in music history, having hosted concerts from some of the biggest artists of all time and we cannot wait to add to that story.”

Roundhay Festival’s headliners, full line-ups and programmes are set to be announced soon.

How Michaela Coel Pulled Off Her TIFF Tribute To Sudan, With An Entire Team Of Sudanese Women

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

“Sudanese women have been on the frontlines of every revolution in Sudan—2019 was even called a women’s revolution. I’m inspired by their resilience and determination, and wanted to pay tribute to them and help give their stories a platform for recognition,” Michaela Coel told Vogue on Monday after the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) premiere of The Christophers. On TIFF’s international stage, where the industry converges on Hollywood North and kicks off the unofficial start of awards season, Coel wasn’t vying for awards recognition or trying to drum up Oscar buzz. She was using her platform to shed light on the devastating atrocities in Sudan, in which 12 million people have been displaced, 150,000 (likely many more) have been killed, and the region is facing mass starvation caused by the ongoing civil war.

Joined by a team of Sudanese women, hand-picked by Coel and her friend, Ebaa Elmelik, co-founder of Media for Justice in Sudan, the multi-hyphenate pulled off the ultimate GRWM with intention. And Toronto-based Sudanese photographer Nabra Badr was there to document it all. Badr’s work is rooted in her Sudanese heritage, and as her bio reads, her “work goes beyond aesthetics, creating visuals that not only look beautiful but also resonate deeply.” Two days after Coel’s TIFF premiere look did exactly what she had hoped — make people stop scrolling and dedicate their timelines to learning more about what’s happening in Sudan — Badr and I got on the phone to talk about how the moment came together, what it was like to be in the room with Coel as she honored Sudanese women, and why the team was adamant that the photos had to be exceptional. Coel wanted them to be so good that Vogue would have no choice but to splash them everywhere. Featuring never-before-seen outtakes from the day, here’s how they pulled it off.

Tell me how this moment at TIFF with Michaela came to be.

Nabra Badr: It was a really quick turnover. I got a DM from the agency that’s working with her on the movie, The Christophers; they messaged me on Saturday and said that Michaela [had] requested to have me shoot this project that she’s working on.

Did you know Michaela before this?

NB: I’ve never had any contact with her. When I saw the DM, I was kind of taken aback. And I’m a huge fan of her work so I was like I don’t know if this is a real DM [laughs]. I was at work as well so I was like, okay, let me get my bearings together. I told them that I was interested and they were like, ‘Okay, great. We’ll get back to you with the details.’ Then they followed up and said that it was actually [Michaela] herself trying to push for [the shoot] to become a Vogue article. It just was surprise after surprise. They let me know that they needed it for the next day. So I got the DM Saturday and ended up meeting up with them on Sunday.

Did you know ahead of time that she was going to tribute Sudanese women and how did that inform your storytelling as you were taking pictures throughout the day?

NB: I wasn’t aware that she was even interested in showcasing the story of Sudan. It was more so that I always knew that she was socially conscious and she utilizes her platform to talk about things that she really cares about. And actually it wasn’t until I met her in person that I learned she was really, really passionate about it. She actually told me that she’s worn a traditional Sudanese garment, the toub, to the White House, and that gained some traction previously. After that happened, she said she wanted to do it again. With TIFF and her premiere, she had a lot more time to make it happen. I’m always willing to do anything in connection to Sudan. It informs my personal work. Even if this wasn’t someone in the public eye, but it was going to get eyes on it, period, I would do it. I was ready to take that on.

I just kept telling [Michaela], ‘this is so important.’ So many people would shy away and feel uncomfortable… but she’s willing to go above and beyond.

Nabra Badr on michaela coel

When you say Sudan informs your personal work, how so?

NB: Sudanese storytelling is often neglected, and the issues that happen in Sudan are kind of placed on the back burner, mainly because people think the problems that are arising in the country are insular and that there’s no way they can help. In reality, it’s not complicated. The people of Sudan just want to be able to live in a democratic environment and not risk their lives every single day, and especially back in 2019 when the revolution first started, it was spearheaded by a lot of Sudanese women. We saw a lot of Sudanese imagery featuring women at the forefront. Since then, anytime I have an opportunity to shoot with Sudanese women, especially my elders, I take it.

Unfortunately, during COVID, I had a lot of female figures in my family pass away, and it just made me realize that time is of the essence, and I only have this opportunity to be around my elders and my ancestors for so long that I want to be able to document it and share their stories and share how they feel about Sudan and what their aspirations are. I have spent more time outside of the beauty and the fashion stuff that I usually do to be able to just document the people around me and my community members. It informs me by me picking up the camera more often when I can.

That’s really beautiful. And I’m so sorry about your family. So when you found out the story that Michaela wanted to tell and and knowing that she wanted to put it in Vogue, did that knowledge inform the way that you approached the shoot?

NB: Michaela’s friend Ebaa [Elmelik, co-founder of Media for Justice in Sudan], was also the person who put everybody together. They were pretty adamant about trying to feature as many Sudanese women as possible. Her henna artist was Sudanese, the jewelry designer was Sudanese. They even got an older Sudanese lady to come in and teach her how to tie the toub. I communicated with Ebaa and what we wanted was really just capturing Michaela while she was getting dressed, but also making sure that I’m capturing details of the [Sudanese] aunt putting the garments on and the details of how she’s passing on this information to Michaela and everybody in the room, just making sure that we’re doing everything correctly.

[Michaela’s] henna artist was Sudanese, the jewelry designer was Sudanese… an older Sudanese lady came in to teach her how to tie the toub… everybody in the room [was] making sure we were doing everything correctly.

nabra badr

There were a lot of conversations around, oh, is this appropriate for this particular instance? There were a few jewelry pieces that are typically reserved for certain situations, like bridal wear [in Sudan]. And we were going back and forth. Maybe Michaela puts it on, maybe she doesn’t. But then it just came to a consensus from both her and everybody else in the room that if it’s not authentic to what the day is, then we’re not going to do it. So if it’s something that would be reserved for brides, then we’re going to take that away. It was a lot of having really authentic conversations and bouncing off of each other — what works and what doesn’t work — and making sure that I’m capturing every aspect of the outfit. It’s not just the toub but the hair piece, the jewelry, the henna that she had done before she even came to Toronto for the festival, by a South Sudanese artist in London. And there was just so much attention to detail about how that henna looked on her hands, and how the henna looked on her feet, and making sure that I was also getting those aspects of it. Because each detail is really important to the outfit as a whole.

It all seemed so intentional. And I love what Michaela said in the Vogue piece about how the color of the traditional toub was dark brown, because she wanted to bring attention to how dark-skinned women are treated specifically.

NB: I didn’t have as much conversation around the color choice of the garment, but I could definitely see why that was intentionally done. She did have a lot of conversations around the fact she was making sure to include [certain pieces] because West Sudan is the is currently the one in the most crisis, or she would say, ‘I want to make sure I’m amplifying these specific voices’ so I could definitely see why she made that particular choice, especially because a lot of traditional Sudanese toubs that are worn on an everyday basis, or to a special gathering, are usually super colorful and bright. So for her to choose something that’s not shimmery and not super textured, and go with something that’s very plain and a very specific color, it was a more modern take on the toub, from my perspective. It’s like bringing the toub to the everyday person.

Did Michaela say why she wanted to showcase this look in Vogue specifically? Was it that she wanted it on the biggest platform possible?

NB: Not specifically. But there was so much conversation [around], ‘Guys, we have to get these pictures done as well as possible and get as much traction as possible, because we don’t want them to pull the photos. When I was approached, I was told that Vogue was okay with iPhone photos, and [Michaela] wanted to reach out to me on her own accord, like, no, let’s get a Sudanese photographer in. Let’s make these pictures as amazing as possible, so that they don’t have any reason to not use them, or to not go ahead with this article. Let’s push them to like the pictures so much that they’ll put them on their social feed and they’ll put them on their story, just pushing to get eyes on Sudan and just making sure we’re utilizing our platform to the best of our abilities. From my understanding, she just wanted to utilize Vogue in particular because she knows how big of a platform it is.

The shots are stunning and you did make it undeniable. These are just so good that they had to run them. Can you talk to me about using art, fashion, and beauty as a way to make political and social statements? Why do you think that’s so effective?

NB: I would say that it’s kind of threaded through all my work., I’m a Black Muslim girl who doesn’t have any links to the fashion industry, doesn’t have any links to the photography industry, it’s really been a breaking of the wall, like the glass ceiling at every single stage possible. And I have always been pretty vocal about my personal beliefs and that I’m not willing to conform just so I can get the job, because at the end of the day my belief system and my moral system just says, Oh, this is just not worth it. I feel like the ability to be able to use fashion and art and all these things is just a more digestible way for people to understand and maybe get connected to it. I’ve grown up with the Teen Vogues [and], I remember reading these stories that were super impactful, but then they were always complimented by beautiful images. I was like, oh, okay, it’s possible for us to have these nuanced conversations, but then at the same time, we’re utilizing art to make a statement.

Is there anything you want to say to or about Michaela after having this experience with her?

NB: My respect for her has gone up tenfold. I truly did not get a sense that it was a performative act. She genuinely wants to learn about Sudan. When I first came into the room, she greeted me with a Sudanese greeting. She’s like, ‘I know it. I know how to do it!’ And it was just so charming. And she had a whole Sudanese playlist. Ebaa, who put everything together, is also her friend, and has been informing her on a lot of the issues, and she genuinely cares. When I first got introduced to this project, I thought maybe the movie was about Sudan, and so that’s how we were trying to relate. None of this has anything to do with Sudan. She just saw an opportunity to be able to be like, ‘Oh, I’m going to this big, huge premiere that I’m doing, and at the same time, I can do this activism at the same time.’ People will see it and they want to do more research so now they know.

We’re utilizing art to make a statement.

nabra badr

I think that was really exciting. I just kept telling her, ‘this is so important.’ So many people would shy away and feel uncomfortable because they don’t want to burn any bridges or ruin any relationships, but she’s willing to go above and beyond. That’s someone I really respect. I would say that she’s great at what she does in her artistry, but she also just has this incredible ability to empathize with other people, be compassionate, and utilize her platform for good, which you don’t always see nowadays because a lot of people fear backlash.

Like what you see? How about some more R29 goodness, right here?

bitchy | Sky: Prince William & ‘wingman’ Harry could still be such a ‘powerful team’

Prince William and Kate’s post-Harry-visit vacation is going to hit like crack next week. In the past seven days, we’ve seen more of William and Kate than we have at any point in the year. It’s wild that no one is calling them out on it, right? That none of the royal commentators will actually say the words “William and Kate are desperate for attention and they’re clout-chasing Prince Harry during his four-day visit.” What the royal reporters will say and write is pretty funny though. Take, for example, Sky News’ Rhiannon Mills, who wrote an “analysis” piece: “William and Harry show separate commitment to shared causes – it shows what a powerful team they could be.” Sob, why didn’t Harry divorce his wife and come back to do all of William’s work? They could have been a TEAM!!

This industrial estate in Nottingham was certainly not the glamour of California. But Prince Harry could not have seemed more at home during his trip back, which was ultimately to see friends. Ever since he left for America, he’s stayed in touch privately with community groups that do the vital work of trying to keep young people out of trouble and tackle youth violence. They have been discreet about his contact, and loyal to him.

So now it felt like he was paying them back – with a huge million-pound donation from his own pocket, not from his charitable foundation. That’s particularly interesting because we don’t usually get told the amounts royals donate. But also when there’s been so much chat about Harry and his money since he left the comfort of the Royal Family.

It also seems to show a firm commitment to the UK that we’ve not physically seen from him in a while. Is this the half-in, half-out royal life that he always wanted? Other family members don’t have a choice, of course.

In London, Prince William was making a similar type of visit to an event in Lambeth focused on what his homelessness initiative, Homewards, is trying to do more specifically for young people.

I was once told by a palace insider that Harry would be William’s wingman when he became king. Their ongoing commitment to the same issues shows how much they could still be a powerful team if they could patch things up.

As I watched Harry walk out of the recording studios, there was a serious feeling of deja vu. This had felt so similar to engagements I’d done with him on this very spot in the past, and that is hard to square with what’s happened over the last five years.

We thought he was leaving, but instead, he hopped over a small wall to chat and take photos with the crowd, despite his security team trying to guide him to the car. Will there be any other unexpected sights over the next two days? We’ll have to wait and see.

[From Sky News]

“We thought he was leaving, but instead, he hopped over a small wall to chat and take photos with the crowd…” That’s something William can’t do… because there are rarely crowds waiting to see him. This is all so pitiful from everyone involved in the UK – William’s half-assed, last-minute busywork to “compete” with Harry, royal reporters mocking Harry’s charitable donation, royal reporters wistfully dreaming of Harry coming back to be William’s “wingman,” since they know William isn’t up to the job, nor does William have any charisma, work ethic or charm. It’s been so many years, and there’s still this refusal from the Windsors, the press and the royalists to acknowledge their massive role in everything that happened. None of them can say “actually, we should have treated Harry and Meghan better, then they would have stayed.”
