1010Benja Announces New 3X10 EP, Shares New Song “YAM”: Listen

written by jummy84

The Kansas City–based artist 1010Benja is following his debut studio album, Ten Total, with a new EP. The new project is called 3X10, and it’s out October 31 via Tabloid. Below, listen to 1010Benja’s new single “YAM.”

According to a press release, 1010Benja recorded his new three-song EP in a friend’s basement in Kansas City, Missouri. “I mean, it’s three… by 10,” the producer, singer, and songwriter said of the EP in a statement. “Cheap and obvious marketing, but the songs are really passionate, and heartfelt. I got here the same way anyone does: I came from a really raw place.”

Discussing “YAM,” he added, “‘YAM’ stands for ‘YOUR ASS, MINE,’ and wouldn’t you know it? Life’s got you; the gods and planets ensnare the weak and vulnerable. You, you are a snare; your love is a prison. The truth hurts—its violence is rich and sweet. When an American leaves their familiar land to travel to tropical places, one bite of a good ‘YAM’ is worth 1,000 Quarter Pounders.”

World Tourism Day 2025: Vet shares 5 simple tips for keeping pets comfy when they are your travel partner

World Tourism Day 2025: If your furry friend is your travel companion, make sure you follow this vet-approved checklist for a stress-free experience.

World Tourism Day 2025: September 27 is observed as World Tourism Day, a day which is designated to celebrate the many joys of travel. Travel’s value is also measured by the company, such as pets, whose presence makes the journey more goofy and memorable. While people aspire for ZNMD (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) moments with friends, let’s not forget that furry friends can also turn ordinary trips into something extraordinary.

But your planning needs to be solid if you are thinking of making your pet your travel partner. Dr Deepak Saraswat, head vet at Zigly, told HT Lifestyle in an interview that often long journeys can be stressful for pets, making them act out.

He added, “Long travels by road, train, or plane can be stressful for your pets. Foreign surroundings, long travel time, and new noises tend to make them restless or anxious. It is possible to ensure the experience is more relaxed and comfortable for pets with proper planning and some intelligent tricks up your sleeve.”

So the question is, how do you make your pet feel comfy on the trip? It is not rocket science, and your pet is not a stubborn critic whom you can’t please. With a little bit of love, care and lots of pre-planning, your trip with your pet has the potential to be picture-perfect.

Here’s a checklist, vet Dr Saraswat shared with us:

1. Establish a comfortable setting

  • Carry your pet’s favourite toy, blanket, or even a piece of clothing with you that has your scent on it.
  • Familiar smells and textures give a feeling of security and comfort, and this will help alleviate anxiety during the trip.

2. Exercise prior to travel

  • A fatigued pet is many times a relaxed pet. Give your dog a fast walk or get your cat to run around vigorously prior to beginning the trip.
  • This will release accumulated energy and make them more apt to relax while travelling.

3. Comfort through carriers and restraints

  • For safety and peace of mind, employ a secure pet carrier or seatbelt harness.
  • Filling the carrier with soft bedding and leaving it partially open can provide your pet with a den-like, snug area where they feel safe.

4. Have hydration and light snacks within reach

  • Bring an emergency water bottle and small amounts of your pet’s normal food or treats.
  • Providing water at intervals keeps them hydrated, and small, familiar portions of food can be a comfort and distraction.
  • Do not overfeed before travelling in order to avoid nausea.

5. Calming aids and soothing techniques

  • Some pets respond well to calming aids like vet-approved sprays, chews, or even natural remedies such as lavender essence (in pet-safe forms).
  • Gentle reassurance, soothing music, or white noise can also help create a more relaxed environment.

Physiologist shares 3 strategies to naturally lower blood sugar levels quickly: ‘Drinking at least 2 glasses helps…’

Sudden spikes in blood sugar can be concerning, but the good news is there are natural ways to bring those levels down quickly. Small, everyday habits – whether it’s how you move, hydrate, or eat – can make a powerful difference in stabilising glucose and supporting better overall health.

According to Jose, eating veggies before meals can prevent blood sugar spikes.(Unsplash)

Jose Tejero, a ‘dietitian and exercise physiologist’ specialising in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, is sharing three effective strategies to help naturally bring down blood sugar levels quickly. In an Instagram video posted on September 17, the physiologist breaks down his blood sugar lowering strategies, explaining the science behind them and emphasising how simple daily actions can create a big impact.

Walks + squats

Jose recommends going for a 20 minute walk followed by 20 body squats. He explains, “The reason why this works is because muscle contractions increase the rate at which glucose is transported from the bloodstream and into the cell to be used as energy.” The physiologist further elaborates, “When muscles contract, they trigger contraction-stimulated glucose uptake – meaning your cells pull glucose from your blood even without insulin. This makes your muscles act like “glucose vacuums,” lowering blood sugar fast.”

Drink water

While drinking water, in itself, does not lower blood sugar levels, dehydration leads to higher blood sugar concentration, according to Jose. He explains, “While water doesn’t directly lower glucose, dehydration concentrates the sugar already in your bloodstream, making values higher. Drinking at least 2 glasses helps your kidneys filter excess glucose and reduces overall blood sugar concentration.”

Eat non-starchy veggies before meals

Jose recommends eating at least two cups of non-starchy vegetables, like broccoli, spinach, or zucchini, before your meals – it adds more fibre in your diet and slows down gastric emptying. He explains, “This means glucose from carbs enters your blood more gradually, reducing spikes and improving insulin response. Studies show sequencing meals this way can significantly blunt post-meal glucose elevations.”

Former Shark Tank judge Ashneer Grover reflects on his strained relationship with Salman Khan amid Bigg Boss invitation.

Ashneer Grover, former Shark Tank India judge, recently stirred headlines after revealing that he was invited to join Bigg Boss 19 as a wildcard contestant. On Friday, 26 September, Ashneer took to social media to share a screenshot of an email allegedly sent by the show’s Senior Casting Coordinator, inviting him to enter the popular reality show.

Ashneer Grover reveals an invitation to join Bigg Boss 19 as a wildcard contestant, sharing an unverified email praising his personality.

Ashneer shares email from Bigg Boss makers

Though the authenticity of the email remains unverified, the message praised Ashneer’s “dynamic personality” and “engaging social media presence,” while describing him as a “strong candidate” for the controversial show.

However, Ashneer responded to the invite with his trademark sarcasm. Taking a subtle jab at Salman Khan, the host of Bigg Boss, he wrote:

“Haha! Salman bhai se pooch le!! Mai to free ho jaaunga tab tak. (Haha! Ask Salman Bhai. I would get free till then. Yeh ‘mail merge’ kisi ki to naukri khayega.(This mail merge will take away someone’s job)”

(For context, ‘mail merge’ refers to a tool used to send mass personalised emails implying the invite may not have been personally crafted.)

Ashneer and Salman’s controversy

This isn’t the first time Ashneer and Salman Khan have clashed publicly. Their alleged fallout dates back to 2019, when Ashneer, then co-founder of BharatPe, approached Salman’s team to onboard him as a brand ambassador. According to Ashneer, during a meeting at a shoot, he requested a photo with the superstar but Salman’s manager refused, citing that the actor wasn’t comfortable with taking photos at the time.

Their strained dynamic resurfaced during Bigg Boss 18, when Ashneer appeared in a special Weekend Ka Vaar episode. On the show, Salman publicly reprimanded him for comments made about his fees and public persona. In response, Ashneer later posted a detailed note reflecting on his experience and the show’s format.

Feeling lonely this Navratri? Therapist shares 6 tips to navigate through loneliness this festive season

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

The festive season is a time of joy, celebration, and the warmth of togetherness. However, it may not be a great time for everyone, especially those living far away or cut off from family and friends. Many people experience disappointment and despair during the holidays due to family conflicts, the death of a loved one, and other pressures, which exacerbates the all too prevalent feeling of seasonal loneliness – but rest assured, you are not alone.

The festive season can be difficult for some people.(Pexel)

In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Mansi Poddar – a trauma-informed psychotherapist and mental health expert with over 15 years of experience – stresses that the holiday season can be an exceptionally difficult time for some people, which is a completely normal human response to loneliness. She outlines six therapist-approved tips to help cope with festive loneliness, making the season a little easier for those who find it challenging to navigate through the holidays.

1. Acknowledge your emotions

According to Dr Poddar, “Festive loneliness is more prevalent than most people realise. Recognise your feelings rather than ignoring them. By giving your emotions a name, you can lessen their intensity and keep them from turning into self-blame.”

2. Practice mindfulness

According to the therapist, some research indicates that practising mindfulness might help reduce feelings of loneliness. Even if you are only using mindfulness apps and practicing it only for a period of time every day, it makes a difference.

3. Keep a simple routine

Dr Poddar recommends making a to-do list of things you can do, be it daily activities or something special, over the holidays – it helps keep your schedule as well as your mind organised.

She elaborates, “Give yourself permission to let go of everything you are unable to do over the holidays due to emotional, mental, or physical limitations. Try making a menu of things you can do, broken down into high and low-energy activities, if you have trouble sticking to a schedule. It’s crucial that you determine what activities are truly engaging rather than merely something you ‘should’ do.”

It is important to be kind to yourself during the festive season.(Pexel)

4. Treat yourself with compassion

“Imagine a loved one approaching you to share their feelings of loneliness over the holidays. You would most likely listen to their worries, treat them with the utmost kindness, and tell them that you care about and love them,” says Dr Poddar, adding the question, “So why not do the same to yourself?”

She suggests treating yourself the way you would treat someone you love – be gentle with yourself, practice kindness and compassion, believe in yourself, and care for yourself just as you would for a friend.

5. Practice gratitude

“An excellent place to start is with a gratitude diary. Writing down all of your blessings, from the more philosophical to the more mundane, could be a good place to start,” suggests the mental health expert.

Practising gratitude and counting your blessings can help you see the good in people, point out the things you are blessed with, which helps you appreciate what you have – directing your attention to life’s good aspects and eventually, aiding your recovery.

6. Engage with communities

The festive season is a time of celebration and togetherness, so it is only natural to feel lonely. Dr Poddar emphasises that it is a common human sensation and should not be viewed as a personal weakness. “Even if the holidays don’t look like traditional festivities, you may make them a time of healing and purpose by establishing deliberate connections, rituals, and self-care routines,” she highlights.

“The impacts of social isolation can be countered even by conversing with complete strangers. Attend local gatherings like concerts, sporting events, or open-mic nights where you may meet others who share your interests. Become a member of a book club. Make use of social media to broaden your network and get in touch with former acquaintances. Engage in forums and social media groups related to your interests.”

FKA Twigs Announces ‘Eusexua Afterglow’ Release Date, Shares New Song

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

The singer released track “Cheap Hotel” on Thursday, calling her upcoming album “hungry, raw and ready to be adored”

After FKA Twigs led us into the pulsating corners of the club world with Eusexua, her follow-up album Eusexua Afterglow seeks to channel the “euphoria of movement” that lingers after leaving the party.

While her upcoming album was initially conceived as a deluxe LP to Eusexua, Afterglow will now be an entirely new body of work that serves a continuation of its predecessor and is set to arrive on Nov. 14, per a press release.

“AFTERGLOW, a visceral waterfall, as you leave the rave in search of your next wonder, give her your consent to kiss, splash and caress your naked skin,” Twigs wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “EUSEXUA stripped you down and her aftermath is hungry, raw and ready to be adored.”

Trending Stories

The announcement of the release date arrived alongside a new track titled “Cheap Hotel” and music video. The cinematic feature directed by Jordan Hemingway sees Twigs and her friend book a room with an unlucky fellow’s credit card as the scene evolves into a provocative hotel rendezvous sans fellow. The party takes a surreal turn as Twigs pauses the music and everyone in the room freezes while she exits to grab a drink from a vending machine outside. Yet Twigs saves the best for last when the card’s owner eventually shows up and gets an unexpected surprise waiting behind the door.

Afterglow will follow Twig’s successful tour, which kicked off in Paris in March, and festival run in support of Eusexua. A Rolling Stone review of her third studio album detailed its “techno beats, house production, and unforgiving industrial tones.” Writer Julyssa Lopez praised the “unpredictable” album for its focus on “complete freedom and impulse,” as Twigs “recharges and transforms, becoming stronger and at times even unrecognizable.”

FKA twigs Announces New Album EUSEXUA Afterglow, Shares “Cheap Hotel”: Stream

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

FKA twigs has announced a new album, EUSEXUA Afterglow. It’s set for release via Atlantic Records/Young Recordings on November 14th. Along with the album announcement, the artist has shared the first single, “Cheap Hotel.” Listen to it below.

Originally envisioned as a deluxe edition of EUSEXUA, FKA’s album released earlier this year (and which topped Consequence’s list of the 30 Best Albums of 2025 So Far), EUSEXUA Afterglow has since evolved into its own body of work, described as a “continuation” with an entirely new tracklist.

With EUSEXUA explained as “a love letter to the techno rave scene and how it can initiate change within,” this new album “expands on the feelings that come after experiencing EUSEXUA, transmuting them into a soundtrack for the hours after the rave and extending that high into the afters,” according to a press release. “Afterglow is a record steeped in the reverence of techno, but the beats now are fractured and derelict, and playful most importantly.”

Related Video

FKA twigs new album announcement follows a busy year of tour dates and festival appearances, as well as a new song “Perfectly,” which the artist previewed at live shows. The EUSEXUA Afterglow era officially kicked off last month in Seoul, Korea, with an intimate after-party and rave where “Cheap Hotel” was played for the first time.

“Cheap Hotel” is a shimmering and shape-shifting synth-drenched soundscape featuring FKA twigs’ airy, delicate vocals. The atmospheric track’s post-rave perspective is perfectly mirrored in the song’s surreal Jordan Hemingway-directed music video. Watch it below.

Just last month, it was revealed that FKA twigs was cast as the Virgin Mary in the upcoming horror film, The Carpenter’s Son, starring Nicolas Cage as the titular carpenter whose son turns out to be Jesus Christ.

That won’t be FKA twigs’ only foray into film, as she’s slated to star as Josephine Baker in an upcoming biopic directed by French filmmaker Maïmouna Doucouré.

Earlier this year, she settled her sexual abuse lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, out of court.

FKA twigs is also set appear at the already sold-out 2026 edition of the Coachella festival in Indio, CA, next April.

FKA twigs Confirms Eusexua Afterglow Release Date, Shares Video for New Song “Cheap Hotel”: Watch

Earlier this week, FKA twigs dropped a teaser video with the title “SEARCHING FOR AN AFTERGLOW? 14.11.2025.” Now, she’s officially confirmed the release date for Eusexua Afterglow. Described in press materials as “an entirely new body of work that will serve as a continuation of her critically acclaimed album Eusexua,” the album is out November 14 via Atlantic/Young.

twigs has also shared the first taste of Eusexua Afterglow. Jordan Hemingway directed the extended music video for the single “Cheap Hotel,” which stars twigs alongside the Clermont Twins. Watch it below.

In July, twigs released the single “Perfectly,” which does not appear on Eusexua Afterglow. Her follow-up to 2019’s Magdalene, Eusexua was led by the singles “Eusexua,” “Perfect Stranger,” and “Drums of Death.” The album track “Childlike Things,” which featured North West, also received a video with a script penned by Jeremy O. Harris. twigs recently collaborated with Yeat on his song “Fly Nitë,” and is set to star opposite Nicolas Cage in Lofty Nathan’s forthcoming biblical horror movie The Carpenter’s Son.

Breastfeeding vs. cow’s milk: Paediatrician shares guidelines on what’s best for infants, toddlers and young children

by jummy84 September 25, 2025

Dr Ravi Malik shared age-rise nutrition rules for infants and children that all mothers should follow.

From the time a child is born till the early years of development, breastmilk plays a significant role in essential nutrition. But how long should you breastfeed your baby? Is it safe for the child to consume cow’s milk instead? In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Ravi Malik, paediatrician, MAMC, founder and medical director, Malik Radix Healthcare said, “Navigating the complexities of infant and young child nutrition can be challenging, especially when considering the role of milk.” Also read | Doctor reveals which is better for your baby in the first 6 months: Breast milk or formula?

Dr Ravi Malik further shared the guidelines of breastmilk and cow’s milk consumption that should be followed by all parents:

For infants (under 1 year):

Breastfeeding is paramount. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life as the ideal source of nutrition. Breast milk provides all necessary nutrients and is crucial for healthy growth and development. No cow’s milk for infants under 1 year old due to potential digestive issues and nutrient deficiencies (like iron). If breast milk is unavailable, iron-fortified infant formula is the appropriate alternative. Around 6 months, complementary foods should be introduced alongside breast milk, but not as replacements.

For toddlers (1-2 years):

Breastfeeding can be continued beyond 1 year, even up to 2 years or beyond, as mutually desired by mother and child. After a child’s first birthday, pasteurised whole cow’s milk can be introduced as a beverage, alongside other nutrient-rich foods. It’s crucial to moderate cow’s milk intake in toddlers as excessive consumption can interfere with iron absorption, potentially leading to iron deficiency anemia. The recommended daily amount is generally between 16 and 24 ounces (about 2-3 cups). Also read | Pain during breastfeeding? For children over 2 years:

Cow’s milk (low-fat or skim milk) can continue to be part of a healthy diet, providing valuable calcium, vitamin D, and protein for growing children. Emphasise a diverse diet rich in fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein sources to ensure adequate intake of all essential nutrients.

Important considerations:

  • Individualised needs: Each child is unique, and individual dietary needs may vary. Parents should always consult with their child’s pediatrician or a registered dietitian to receive personalised advice and address any concerns or specific dietary requirements.
  • Alternatives to cow’s milk: For children with dairy allergies or intolerances, or families with dietary preferences, fortified soy milk is generally considered the most nutritionally equivalent alternative. Other plant-based milks should be carefully evaluated for their nutritional content, especially regarding protein, fat, and fortification with calcium and vitamin D.
  • Avoid sugary drinks: Regardless of the milk choice, parents should avoid offering children sugary drinks like flavored milks, sodas, and juices. These drinks offer minimal nutritional value and can lead to various health problems. Also read | Gynaecologist busts 5 common myths about breastfeeding: ‘Pumping breast milk is not…’
