Liam Gallagher Blasts Fan Who Set off Flares at Oasis Concert

Liam Gallagher lambasted a fan who launched flares during Oasis’ Melbourne, Australia show at Marvel Stadium on Friday, calling the person a “seriously fucked up individual” in a social media post about the incident.

“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” Gallagher posted on social platform X following their performance.

The flares were launched during the band’s “Champagne Supernova” finale at the first date of their Australian run of their tour. (They perform tonight, Nov. 1, and Nov. 4 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, before heading to Sydney to play Accor Stadium on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.)

In video footage filmed during the sold-out show, a flare can be seen going up in the air, appearing to be launched from within the crowd, and then it landed into the crowd who were in the floor section. Flames ignited in the area shortly after. Then, another flare can be seen going up and landing in the crowd nearby.

According to one concertgoer, there were two flares they witnessed going off. The attendee identified as Virginia, told Australian outlet news.com.au, that she saw one flash, and then shortly after another one was set off.

“Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly,” Virginia, who attended the band’s debut Australian concert with her family, told the outlet.

She added: “I was there with my 13-year-old daughter, so once that went off, I thought it was bad and thought we’ll just leave before the end of the song and try and get outside.”

It’s unclear how the flares were brought into the stadium. Virginia confirmed to news.com.au that security checked bags and that concertgoers were scanned before entering the venue.

According to 9 News in Australia, police in Victoria — the state in which Melbourne is located — said the incident was not reported and that there were no arrests. Marvel Stadium told 9 News that no one was harmed. “We’ll leave the on record comments to Liam Gallagher’s post,” the venue added.

Why Yorgos Lanthimos Shot VistaVision in Basement Set Film

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

In “Bugonia,” after Teddy (Jesse Plemons) kidnaps Michelle (Emma Stone), a large percentage of the movie takes place inside the conspiracy-obsessed kidnapper’s house. Specifically, his basement, where he goes to extreme lengths to get what he wants from the powerful, cunning CEO he’s holding captive.

While a guest on this week’s episode of the Filmmaker Toolkit podcast, director Yorgos Lanthimos discussed why the limitations of the basement setting were cinematically necessary.

“Films build microcosms, and those can be of varying sizes, and this is one of the smaller ones. That creates a lot of tension and allows you to scrutinize the situation,” said Lanthimos. “It’s like looking through a microscope a little bit, if you limit things, if you go further and deeper and closer, [you ask as a viewer], ‘What is there?’ And especially if there’s an explosive dynamic, you’re so close, it’s amplified.”

'The Love That Remains' ('Ástin Sem Eftir Er')

Working within restricted space, Lanthimos felt the need to go big with the filmmaking, both with supervising sound editor/re-recording mixer Johnnie Burn’s sound design and composer Jerskin Fendrix’s music, which is by far the biggest score in the score-adverse director’s career.

“I just felt that the juxtaposition of a really big soundtrack would be interesting,” said Lanthimos. “There’s a lot of big themes and a lot of big feelings, so I wanted that to be represented in an extreme way in the soundtrack and music and sound design. It’s a similar reason that we ended up shooting the film on VistaVision.”

That’s right, “One Battle After Another” and “The Brutalist” aren’t the only two recent films that breathed life back into the once-dead large-format and barely functioning VistaVision cameras that had spent decades on the shelf. But unlike Lathimos, Paul Thomas Anderson and Brady Corbet reached for the VistaVision to lend a big-screen grandeur to what were the directors’ most expansive and epic films to date.

While on the podcast, Lanthimos recognized how counterintuitive it was shooting his smallest (spatial speaking) film on the largest possible negative, but said that after using VistaVision to shoot the reanimation scene in “Poor Things,” the director and his cinematographer Robbie Ryan knew the format would be perfect to frame his “Bugonia” characters. “It was all about these characters, it was all about this very intense environment, photographing them in a large format, making their portraits bigger than life in a way, just added this necessary layer to express all these big ideas and feelings.”

Aesthetically, Lanthimos preferred the VistaVision over the more well-established and less cumbersome 65mm film cameras — the images weren’t as wide (he wanted “boxier”), and the tonality, depth, and richness of the image appealed to his and Ryan’s sensibilities.

“After ‘Poor Things,’ we kept thinking about the images, and Robbie [kept] asking around about the VistaVision cameras,” said Lanthimos.

On “Poor Things,” they had only been able to use VistaVision on the non-dialogue reanimation scene because the old cameras were too loud to record sync sound. Afterwards, the persistent Ryan eventually tracked down a quieter Wilcam 11 VistaVision camera.

“We discovered this one camera that exists in the world, that’s functioning, which is quieter than those cameras, but it’s huge, and temperamental, and very difficult to load, and it takes a lot of time,” said Lanthimos.

The descriptor of the Wilcam 11 as “functioning” is up for debate, as it created constant problems on the “Bugonia” set. “One Battle After Another” cinematographer Michael Bauman told IndieWire the quieter WilCam 11 was so cumbersome and temperamental (completely failing during some camera tests according to camera operator Colin Anderson), PTA deemed it “unreliable” during the testing phase. On “One Battle” they went with the louder VistaVision camera, switching to Super 35mm for interior shots where the camera was in very close proximity to the actors delivering dialogue, and testing ways to eliminate “the extremely” loud camera noise in post-production when the camera was at a certain distance or outdoors.

Lanthimos expressed “surprise” that the dialogue-heavy “One Battle” got away with the noisier camera, before acknowledging how unique his film’s needs were. “I guess we had a lot of scenes in a basement, a very enclosed space — the sound of a camera that loud was really problematic for us. We couldn’t get the camera many feet away, in order to try and dump down the sound a little bit. And so for us, there wasn’t any other solution. And in the end, it kind of became an advantage. We embraced it, we went with it, and it just became a restriction in a way that makes you more creative.”

New US Teaser for Brilliant ‘Sirat’ Film Set in the Deserts of Morocco

“Is this what the end of the world feels like?” Yes. Neon has revealed the official US trailer for the highly acclaimed, award-winning, best-of-the-year film Sirat – created by Spanish-French filmmaker Óliver Laxe as his fourth feature. It premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival where it was regarded as one of the best films at the fest that deserved to win the Palme d’Or. Now it’s opening in US theaters starting in November. After his daughter disappears at a rave, a father travels to Morocco up into the mountains with his son to search for her. She has been missing for months and they travel into the rave scene in hopes of finding her. Starring Sergi López & Bruno Núñez as the father & son. The title is a reference to this concept in Islam, “sirat” refers to a narrow bridge spanning the chasm of Hell, which believers are said to cross on the Day of Judgment. It’s also a broader concept representing the “straight path” of righteousness and guidance, both in a literal and metaphorical sense. I wrote in my glowing review at Cannes: “Óliver Laxe’s Sirat is a techno-filled desert odyssey that will leave everyone breathless. A must watch for all cinephiles.” This film RULES! This trailer shows quite a bit, but doesn’t reveal all of it thankfully. Don’t miss experiencing this in theaters.

Here’s the first US teaser trailer (+ poster) for Óliver Laxe’s film Sirat, direct from Neon’s YouTube:

You can also rewatch the full Spanish trailer for Óliver Laxe’s Sirat film right here from back in May.

A father (Sergi López) and his son arrive at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco. They are searching for Mar — their daughter and sister — who has vanished months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties. Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, they hand out her photo again and again. Hope is fading, but they push through and follow a group of ravers heading to one last party out in the desert. As they venture deeper into the burning wilderness, the journey forces them to confront their own limits. Sirat is directed by French-Spanish filmmaker Óliver Laxe, director of the films You All Are Captains, Mimosas, and Fire Will Come previously. The screenplay is written by Óliver Laxe and Santiago Fillol. A Spanish movie – it’s produced by Movistar Plus+, El Deseo, Filmes Da Ermida, Uri Films, and 4A4 Productions. It already opened in Spain in June earlier in the year. The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Main Competition and it won the Jury Prize. Neon releases Óliver Laxe’s Sirat in select US theaters starting on November 14th, 2025 this fall. Who’s ready to watch this?

Nintendo has announced a new box set celebrating the soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition to answering many Zelda fans’ requests to own the music on vinyl, the box set also marks the first time the infamously strict Nintendo has ever released a physical soundtrack for sale in the United States. The 8xLP box set is out June 19, via Nintendo and Laced. Check out the tracklist and artwork below.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack is available to pre-order as a 8xLP box set and a 2xLP set. The former goes all out, with blue and gold splatter vinyl, archival artwork on each sleeve, and a blue rigid board slipcase. All 130 specially mastered tracks are in the box set, covering the scope of the game’s soundtrack as composed by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, Hajime Wakai, and Soshi Abe.

Prior to now, Nintendo has released its video game soundtracks on vinyl only in Japan. Nintendo Switch players with an Online membership have access to Nintendo Music, too, which is the company’s app to stream the soundtracks and songs from Nintendo games.

Japan Set As 2026 Country Of Honor At Cannes Marché Du Film

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film has unveiled Japan as the Country of Honour for its 2026 edition next May.

The Marché du Film’s Executive Director Guillaume Esmiol officially announced the choice at the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) on Tuesday, alongside Junichi Sakomoto, Chair of the Executive Committee for Japan, Country of Honour 2026.

News of the focus was teased at Tokyo’s opening night, with a promise of more details during the festival.

As Country of Honour, Japan will open the 2026 edition by co-hosting the Marché du Film’s Opening Night and then have a special place in Marché du Film’s programs, including its panels, networking events and project showcases putting the spotlight on Japanese animation and genre cinema.

Other key initiatives include a summit on Japan’s film industry to foster collaboration and innovation, and a special screening day dedicated to Japanese cinema.

Through its participation, Japan aims to build strong professional networks with the international film community and promote its film and content industries for future success in global markets.

With over 120 years of filmmaking history, Japan stands as one of the world’s most influential film nations.

Its legacy spans legendary names such as Kenji Mizoguchi, Yasujirō Ozu and 1980 Cannes Palme d’Or winner Akira Kurosawa to contemporary auteurs such as Hirokazu Kore-eda, Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Naomi Kawase and emerging names such as Chie Hayakawa, who continue to fly the flag in Cannes’ Official Selection to this day.

The Marché du Film pointed to the country’s robust film industry which it said produced around 1,200 films annually.

It also highlighted the health of its theatrical sector drawing 150 million cinemagoers each year, representing an overall gross of $1.3, suggesting this demonstrated resilience in an era defined by digitalization and an ever-growing range of entertainment choices.

The 2026 focus will build on Japan’s close relationship with the Marché du Film, where Japanese sales companies are among the most established in the Palais des Festivals, while the Japan Pavilion, coordinated by UniJapan, has been a long-standing fixture at the Village International.

““We are truly delighted and proud that Japan has been selected as the Country of Honour. It presents a wonderful opportunity to showcase the appeal of Japanese cinema on a global stage. We look forward to seeing Japan’s rich film culture, along with its emerging talents and technologies, shine even brighter internationally and contribute to the advancement of cinema both in Japan and around the world,” said Sakomoto.

Esmiol added: “Japan holds a unique place in international cinema, and its creative legacy continues to inspire generations of filmmakers. It also holds a unique place at the Marché du Film, as one of the most represented and dynamic countries, with highly active sales companies and producers. On a more personal note: as someone with Japanese roots, it’s a beautiful opportunity to pay tribute to my cultural heritage.”

Japan’s participation will be organized by the Executive Committee for Japan, Country of Honour 2026, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Specific program details and participating institutions will be announced in early 2026.

Japan follows Brazil (2025), Switzerland (2024), Spain (2023) and India (2022) as the fifth Country of Honour, an initiative launched by the Marché du Film to recognize nations for their outstanding contributions to the global film industry and to foster international exchange and collaboration.

The 2026 Marché du Film will open May 12 and run until May 20, while the Cannes Film Festival will run until May 23.

Anniversary (2025): A Family Thriller Set Against A Nation On Edge | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Lionsgate’s Anniversary, directed by Jan Komasa, is a thriller that blends the intimate fractures of a family with the unsettling turbulence of a nation in crisis. Releasing on October 29, 2025, the film focuses on Ellen and Paul Taylor, played by Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler, a couple whose world begins to unravel when their past collides with their present. The disruption arrives in the form of Liz, Ellen’s former student, portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor, who unexpectedly becomes romantically involved with the Taylors’ son, played by Dylan O’Brien.

What should be a familiar family dynamic quickly spirals into conflict as Liz brings with her deep ties to a controversial new movement sweeping across the country, ominously referred to as “The Change.”

The brilliance of Anniversary lies in the way it takes something as relatable as family loyalty and tests it against forces much larger than any single household.

The cast amplifies this layered story with weight and urgency. Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler ground the film with their portrayal of parents watching the life they built slip away, while Phoebe Dynevor’s Liz complicates everything with both charisma and menace.

Dylan O’Brien adds vulnerability to the mix, caught between his parents’ world and Liz’s influence. Supporting performances by Madeline Brewer, Zoey Deutch, Mckenna Grace, and Daryl McCormack further widen the scope of the drama.

As Liz integrates herself into the Taylor family, unresolved tensions bubble to the surface, exposing cracks in trust and loyalty.

With Ellen torn between her maternal instincts and her history with Liz, and Paul struggling to hold on to stability as his home life begins to mirror the chaos outside, the family’s fate becomes inseparable from the greater uncertainty gripping the nation.

With Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz, Paula Mae Schwartz, and Kate Churchill producing, and Komasa’s reputation for crafting tense, socially conscious films, Anniversary is positioned to be more than just another thriller.

It’s a reflection of the fragility of trust in a world that feels increasingly unstable. By weaving political and cultural unrest into an intimate family drama, the film resonates with today’s anxieties while delivering a story that feels urgent, emotional, and uncomfortably real.

Joe Jonas Reacts to Backlash Over Jonas Brothers’ World Series Set

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Jonas Brothers, who are Stand Up to Cancer ambassadors, gave a surprise performance during the 2025 World Series that had some baseball fans taking to social media to criticize their appearance.

On Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers competed in Game Two of the World Series at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. After the fifth inning, the game was paused for a Stand up to Cancer tribute. A Major League Baseball tradition since 2009, the tribute features those in attendance holding up placards honoring people who have been affected by cancer. At the game yesterday, baseball fans and players alike participated in the moment.

Then, the band were surprise-introduced by an announcer, who said Jonas Brothers would perform “I Can’t Lose,” which was “dedicated to everyone standing up to cancer.” Kicking their performance off with Joe Jonas holding up a placard for their dad, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017, the band delivered their performance in the stadium in an area overlooking the field.

While they performed, they were surrounded by fans who sang along, but once they were done, it appeared some baseball fans were less enthusiastic about their surprise set. Some who were displeased took to the internet. One person posted “Do this pregame… not interrupt the World Series” and another wrote “This is the World Series not the All Star game” in the comments on the MLB YouTube video featuring their performance.

Trending Stories

Over on Instagram, their appearance was also taken to task. “Horrible idea to have a half time show AFTER a moment of silence for those impacted by cancer, in the middle of the WORLD SERIES. So bad,” wrote one person, while another called it the “worst part of the whole broadcast.” Another was more diplomatic, writing, “They might be good performers, but please never do this in the middle of a game again. Do it to start the game. This just changes the entire atmosphere.”

Joe Jonas appeared to take it all in stride, humorously posting, “Why these guys ?” on MLB’s Instagram post. And despite the backlash from some, thousands of others “liked” Jonas’ response and hundreds of others commented in support of him and the band. Besides, there was at least one pretty evident reason why they were there with the sign he held up at the beginning of their performance, given their dad, Kevin Jonas Sr., is a cancer survivor. Perhaps a better battle to pick is a unified one against cancer rather than over a band’s surprise set.

“People are always looking for happiness in all the wrong places… Family is happiness.” Indeed. Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled simply Mango, a story about a mango farmer in Spain. This film is a Danish production, about a Danish woman, who goes to Spain, starring an Iraqi-Danish actor who’s playing a Danish man running this farm in Spain. Lærke, an ambitious hotel manager, is sent to Málaga (see Google Maps) to develop a hotel on Alex’s mango farm. Lærke’s daughter joins, expecting a rare holiday with her mother. Unexpected feelings arise between Lærke and Alex, forcing them both to make life-altering choices on what to do next. A romance story set in Spain about two people growing feelings for each other. Both mother and daughter “find what they’ve been craving in a farmer’s idyllic mango orchard.” Oooh la la. Starring Dar Salim as Alex & Josephine Park as Lærke, Josephine Chavarria Højbjerg as daughter Agnes, and Sara Jiménez as Paula. Most of all I just want to try some of this gorgeous-looking mango he’s growing. And that mangonade. She better stay with him on this farm and grow mangoes! Take a look below.

Here’s the main official trailer for Mehdi Avaz’s Malaga romance film Mango, from Netflix’s YouTube:

Mango Film Trailer

Mango Film Trailer

The ambitious hotel manager, Lærke (Josephine Park), seizes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when her boss sends her to Malaga, Spain, to develop a grand new hotel in the middle of a mango farm. The farm belongs to Alex, a former lawyer, who refuses to sell due to a tragic past he can’t let go of. Lærke brings along her daughter, Agnes, who expects rare holiday time with her busy mother — or so she believes. As unexpected feelings start to bloom between Lærke & Alex, both are forced to make choices that will impact their careers, family ties, and ultimately, their hearts. Mango is directed by the Danish-Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Avaz, director of the movies While We Live, Collision, Toscana, A Beautiful Life, plus Børnene fra Sølvgade 1 & 2 previously. The screenplay is written by fellow filmmaker Milad Schwartz Avaz. Produced by Anna Malmkjær Willumsen. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Netflix debuts Avaz’s Mango film streaming on Netflix starting November 7th, 2025 this fall. Want to watch it?
