Chase Chrisley Reveals Health Issue on ‘Chrisleys: Back to Reality’

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

The Tuesday, September 9, episode of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality featured Chase Chrisley dealing with some health issues that he was having trouble getting to the bottom of. He opened up to girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat about feeling “kind of scared” as he struggled to keep food down.

“Within, like, the last year I’ve lost a lot of weight,” Chase said. “My body’s just, like, rejecting food.” He told Jodi that he couldn’t “keep anything down” and admitted to feeling “absolutely miserable.” Footage showed Chase getting sick after multiple meals, and Jodi revealed that he even had trouble keeping down water sometimes.

While Jodi tried to change her boyfriend’s diet to see if that would help, he “refused.” He saw a doctor who wanted to run tests on his stomach and gallbladder, as well as possibly a CT scan to see if he had a brain tumor.

On a phone call from prison, Chase’s dad, Todd Chrisley, said Chase had been struggling with the stomach issues for years, but noticed that it had gotten worse since his parents went to prison in January 2023. “You find out what’s wrong and you get it fixed, and you go on with your life,” he urged his son.

Even amid her tension with Chase, Savannah Chrisley was worried, too. “There is some fear in me that something’s gonna happen to Chase. And it’s very valid,” she admitted. “Just in the way that he looks. Chase is not Chase.” She pointed out that her brother has “rings around his eyes” and lost a lot of weight.

“He’s not who I know as my brother,” Savannah added. “I feel like I’ve already buried my brother.” The specifics of Chase’s health issues were not revealed within the episode, but there’s still one more episode to go next week.

New Mysteries on ‘Only Murders,’ History of Black TV, ‘Alien’ Intrigue, Horror Meets Reality TV

Only Murders in the Building

The Emmy-nominated comedy-mystery returns for a fifth season, with the murder-prone Arconia apartment building once again the scene for mischievous and mirthful mayhem, courtesy of the podcasting trio of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez). They’re not buying the “accidental death” ruling regarding the suspicious passing of their beloved doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca), found floating in a bloody fountain as last season ended. Their snooping includes physical comedy at Lester’s funeral. (“How can I count his fingers if he’s not doing the dead-man’s arm cross?” Charles wonders in a line that could only be heard on this show.) The investigation leads to connections between the Arconia and a missing mobster (Bobby Cannavale), his glamorous wife (Téa Leoni) and three shady billionaires (Oscar winners Renée Zellweger and Christoph Waltz, and Logan Lerman). Other guest stars include Keegan-Michael Key as New York’s blustery mayor and Dianne Weist, another Oscar winner, as Lester’s widow. The season launches with three episodes.

Seen and Heard: The History of Black Television

“It’s hard to feel seen,” reflects no less an eminence than Oprah Winfrey, who remembers growing up “with no images of myself being reflected back to me.” A two-part documentary, concluding Wednesday, from executive producer Issa Rae (Insecure) and director Giselle Bailey provides a sweeping cultural history of Black images and characters on TV from early stereotyping (Beulah, Amos ‘n’ Andy) to breakthroughs of the 1960s including Julia with Diahann Carroll and Nichelle Nichols‘ portrayal of Star Trek‘s Uhura (a favorite of Martin Luther King Jr.) through Norman Lear‘s topical comedies (Good Times, The Jeffersons, Sanford & Son) to a more modern era when shows were actually run by people of color (In Living Color, Girlfriends, black-ish). “My hope is that there will be more shows that show us as ourselves in our deep complexity,” Winfrey concludes.

Samuel Blenkin in 'Alien: Earth'

Alien: Earth

The battle over the aliens that have crash-landed on Earth intensifies in a pivotal episode of the thrilling sci-fi/horror spinoff. While Prodigy’s “boy genius” Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) spars with Weyland-Yutani CEO Yutani (Sandra Yi Sencindiver) over control and ownership of the deadly specimens, few seem to appreciate what it means that human/robot hybrid Wendy (Sydney Chandler) is bonding and empathizing with one of the Xenomorphs. Elsewhere, Maginot security chief and Weyland-Yutani loyalist Morrow (Babou Ceesay) continues manipulating “Lost Boy” Slightly (Adarsh Gourav) in his plot to gain access to one of the aliens. The suspense is considerable.

Guts & Glory

Leave it to The Walking Dead‘s award-winning special-effects guru and executive producer Greg Nicotero to concoct a horror-filled reality competition that makes Survivor look like child’s play (no, not the Chucky movie). The six-episode survival contest puts the players in an immersive scenario that unfolds like a real-life horror movie with zombies and other terrors lurking to force everyone involved to face their fears. Launches with two episodes.

Playing Nice

The finale of the domestic drama, depicting the battle between two couples whose sons were switched at birth, cranks up the melodrama when Pete and Maddie (James Norton, Niahm Algar) are vilified in court, with the monstrous Miles (James McArdle) determined to gain custody of both boys. A surprise appearance at the courthouse could change the dynamic as the emotional tug of war goes to outrageous extremes.

INSIDE TUESDAY TV:

  • America’s Got Talent (8/7c, NBC): Among those scheduled to perform in the last of the quarterfinals, determining who’ll be represented in the semifinals starting next week: Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, which earned a Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell, and two of Terry Crews‘ Golden Buzzer picks: The BoykinZ and The Funkateer Dancers.
  • Becoming Thurgood: America’s Social Architect (9/8c, PBS): A documentary profiles Thurgood Marshall, the pioneering civil-rights lawyer who successfully argued 29 of 32 cases before the Supreme Court before being appointed in 1967 to be the first African American justice on the highest court.
  • The Tech Bro Murders (10/9c, Investigation Discovery): Retired Palo Alto detective Sandra Brown leads a six-part true-crime series exploring deadly doings among Silicon Valley’s elite. First up: the case of a Google X exec found dead on his yacht.
  • Songs & Stories With Kelly Clarkson (10/9c, NBC): Lizzo opens up about her life and career and performs with Kelly in the season finale.
  • Thirst Trap: The Fame. The Fantasy. The Fallout (streaming on Paramount+): The dark side of social-media fame is the subject of a documentary about William White, a sensation at 21 when he posted sensual videos lip-syncing to retro hits like “Mandy.” His following, which included many middle-aged women, grew out of control, with stalking, bullying and doxxing among his obsessive fan club while White raked in a fortune.

Exclusive: Shreya Ghoshal on the pros and cons of reality shows

by jummy84 September 5, 2025
written by jummy84

In an exclusive conversation with Jitesh Pillai on In The Ring with Filmfare, Shreya Ghoshal offered her perspective on the evolving landscape of music reality shows, explaining the shift from pure competition to the influence of public validation. Shreya believes her rise came during a simpler time when music was “untouched and pure.” The format then was straightforward, contestants were judged solely on their performance, with their fate decided by the judges’ scores alone.

Today, however, the dynamic has changed dramatically with the introduction of public voting. She said that for the contestants now, public validation is everything. This shift means a contestant’s success isn’t just about their voice but also their popularity. Despite this, Shreya sees a positive side. She highlights how these shows serve as a powerful platform for raw talent from even the most remote parts of the country. Many contestants arrive with little to no formal training but possess beautiful voices, and they receive professional grooming throughout the season. For these singers, the opportunity to perform on such a massive stage, seen by millions, is a huge achievement. She points out that for many, their journey on the show is a platform and gateway towards something bigger.

Shreya Ghoshal’s own journey started with participating in the sphere of reality shows. She rose to fame after winning the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2000. Her win launched a career that has spanned over two decades, making her one of the most celebrated and loved voices in the Indian music industry. She is a living example of how a reality show can provide a launchpad for a lifetime of musical success. Her career has given us some of the most memorable chartbusters like Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai, Piyu Bole, Teri Ore, Agar Tum Mil Jao, among many other loved songs.

Bigg Boss 19: Ashnoor Kaur Opens Up On Her Reality TV Debut With Salman Khan-Hosted Show

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Actor Ashnoor Kaur, who began her career as a child artist and went on to become one of television’s most recognised faces, is now ready to embrace her first reality TV stint with Bigg Boss 19. From memorable roles in popular shows like Patiala Babes, Jhansi Ki Rani, and Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, to building a strong connection with audiences as she grew up in the spotlight, Ashnoor has always evolved with her craft.

Now, stepping into the Bigg Boss house, she takes on a new journey, one that strips away scripts and characters, leaving only her real self for the world to see. Streaming exclusively on JioHotstar at 9:00 PM IST and airing on Colors TV at 10:30 PM IST, the season unfolds under the theme of “Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar,” introducing a democratic twist inside the house.

Ashnoor Kaur On Debuting On Reality TV With Bigg Boss 19

“I finally said yes after a lot of years of comprehending whether to do this or not. I had been getting a call for the past 3–4 years but I thought I was too young, not ready for it, or busy with college. This year, I’m legally an adult, and because Bigg Boss is the biggest reality show on Indian television, I thought if I’m entering the space of reality shows, I might as well start with the biggest one,” said Ashnoor.

On being asked about having an unfair advantage given her popularity as a child actor, she responded, “I really feel everyone coming to the game has something or the other on the outside that gives them the advantage, as everyone is deserving of this position. However, inside the house we are all equal contestants. I feel audiences are smart enough to differentiate between somebody’s outside public image and how someone actually contributes to the game.”

Don’t miss the drama! Tune in to Bigg Boss 19 every night at 9:00 PM on JioHotstar and 10:30 PM on COLORS.

Alternate Reality Thriller ‘Motherland’ Trailer Feat. Miriam Silverman

“We haven’t been told the truth!” Vertical debuted the official trailer for an indie film titled Motherland, from filmmaker Evan Matthews making his feature directorial debut. After premiering at a few small film fests earlier this year, te thriller will be out to watch on VOD in September. The vague synopsis explains: set in an alternate present society where the state frees all parents from the burden of raising children, a “rule enforcer” learns a shocking truth that sparks her rebellion. “Freedom from all, for all…” Obviously there’s more going on in this bleak dystopian society than mothers being free. Starring Tony award-winning actress Miriam Silverman as Cora, Holland Taylor, Néstor Carbonell, and introducing Emily Arancio as Zinnia. It’s hard to tell from this trailer what the point of this film is or what it’s message ultimately is. The world building is so vague and they don’t reveal anything… What is it trying to say about our “Motherland”?

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Evan Matthews’ film Motherland, direct from YouTube:

In an alternate present society where the state frees parents from the burden of raising children, a rule enforcer (Miriam Silverman) learns a shocking truth that sparks her rebellion. “Evan’s world-building is as impressive in its attention to detail as it is disheartening in its plausibility. The excellent performances from the entire cast elevate the dystopian thriller narrative.” Motherland is directed by the American indie filmmaker Evan Matthews, making his feature directorial debut after many other short films previously. The screenplay is written by Nicole Roewe. Produced by Tony Glazer, Lana Link, Summer Crockett Moore, Rob Pfaltzgraff. This premiered at the 2025 Omaha Film Festival earlier this year. Vertical debuts Matthews’ film Motherland in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 12th, 2025 coming soon. Interested?
