Sea Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Sea is riding a wave. Ahead of their 20th anniversary, in 2026, the brand is opening stores in Seoul and in Shanghai. “The consumer in China is changing, they are buying differently and they’re buying in our direction, which is helpful,” explained Sean Moynihan. “They want things that feel more crafted, more unique, more individual or independent.”

This spring collection certainly delivers on the made-with-love front; as Monica Paolini noted, “mending is a really big part of this collection.” Stitches, monograms, and motifs from vintage samplers have been adapted in a freeform way on tops and jeans. Sportiness, in the form of long shorts, is a carry over from resort. Providing a contrast to the width of the shorts are barely-there skorts and mini-skirts with attached bloomers. Another two-for-one look is a duster with a lining that can be worn on its own.

Openwork trims and folksy embroideries are Sea signatures; for spring the latter have been refined through the use of a new type of thread that allows for the most intricate work. Paolini indulged her passion for Chantilly lace as well. This season it reads alternatively sweet (see a lace-trimmed blazer) and sexy (transparency reveals undergarments in a grown-up way).

The designer had a feeling for lingerie as outerwear as well. A mauve button-front dress with tucks and lace insets offered a less literal take on the boudoir look, which shared space in this offering with khaki separates, utility pockets, and rainwear capes boasting summer camp vibes. Paolini has been working on all of these themes for some time now. What felt most directional were the very subtle allusions to the ’80s, as seen on white work dresses that carried forward the spirit of Laura Ashley and on pleat-front balloon pants that gathered at the ankle.

Rachel Comey Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Rachel Comey opted to let her spring 2026 models do their own hair and makeup backstage. In a note to Vogue in the weeks before the show, she explained, “as much as I love a large backstage production, producers and team members flying around with walkie talkies and clipboards, an intimate gathering with women putting their own lipstick on and chatting feels like a room I want to be in.”

Her words resonated as guests gathered in Great Jones Alley behind her newly expanded Broadway headquarters for tonight’s show. As a seatmate admired the eclectic, colorful, lived-in looks of the women in the crowd, a thought occurred: an intimate gathering with women wearing their own Rachel Comey clothes is a room—street, in this case—where you really do want to be.

Amidst the countless shows I’ve attended and reviewed over 20 years, a rare few have featured the kind of real-life fashion that Comey’s do. Removing even the artifice of backstage hair and makeup demonstrates the respect she has for her models and their points of view, a respect that naturally extends to her clients. Comey’s loath to discuss inspirations or seasonal messages. Instead, pressed for details about the new collection, she turns to fabrics: The engineered jacquard of an airy pink blouson paired with waxed cotton chinos, a matching jacket tied unassumingly around the waist; the compact knits of skinny pantsuits and tank dresses; and the “fine, fine” jersey of draped halter tops and skirts, those too in a soft, pretty pink.

If Comey is looking at the world with rose colored glasses, she has reason to. There’s been plenty of doom and gloom in the fashion industry this year, but she reports that her business is up significantly. “I try not to pay attention to whatever else is going on,” she said. “I focus on my customers, what they’re wearing, what they’re shopping for.”

Hence the practical outerwear that was in the mix with those subtly special pieces: a sturdy trench and another in fluid washed silk, a tweedy cardigan jacket, a double-face cocoon coat. Still, the lasting impression was of the ultra-fine materials—the slip dresses in jersey or engineered jacquard—that will wash over the body like a caress. That feels like respect too.

Veronica Beard Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Veronica Beard is willing to bet that the boho craze will be alive and well come spring 2026. Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard are all in on ’70s paisley prints, flouncy ruffled minidresses, dainty lace, and ultra-flared jeans.

The offering is a full 180 from last season’s American sportswear emphasis, and a departure from the brand’s structured tailoring. “It’s a change for us, certainly in the overt femininity,” Swanson Beard said. “We’ve always gone a little bit more power dressing, tailoring-heavy, strong shoulder. I think what’s really pretty is the ease and femininity in this collection from a silhouette perspective.” While it is a freer offering for the sisters-in-law, the brand’s DNA is still there: a rust brown and blue striped three-piece set is a particular standout, while a a pair of crisp trousers is cut in a delicate eyelet.

The most exciting component of the collection is a new roster of contributors: the team’s student interns. The brand partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to create the Veronica Beard x CFDA Creative Futures Scholarship. Four college juniors spent the summer interning at the brand across departments (including knitwear, soft wovens, tailoring, and denim) and were each granted $50,000 to help fund their independent design careers. By summer’s end, the students were able to see their work evolve from a sketch to pieces in the spring 2026 collection, including a pair of embellished jeans and a peach cowl-neck slip.

For the Veronicas, it was a full-circle moment, and a reminder of how far they’ve come as a brand. “We were CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists at one point in our lives,” Miele Beard said. “To flip it around and be a brand that [students] could work toward was iconic.”

H&M Studio Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 September 3, 2025

One way to understand H&M Studio’s fall collection is as an extension—and a celebration—of the Swedish brand’s expansion into Brazil with a first store in São Paolo. Inspired by the “melting pot” culture of the country, the team attempted to create a bridge between the Brazilian and Swedish capitals: hot versus cold, the rawness of brutalism versus the polish of minimalism…. This concept was more convincing on paper than in practice, although exposed zippers, raw wedges, a dry wool coat with permanent creases, and “a concrete feeling [that] comes through the colors in the gray tones,” as as Ann-Sofie Johansson put it on a call, did touch on the idea of Brutalism.

In São Paolo, Johannson noted, you “can really see the uber feminine women, which you don’t really find in Stockholm.” Their allure encouraged the design team to soften hard and rough edges. Witness lovely lingerie pieces with inset “lace” panels, a pink peplum sweater, a vintage wallpaper print, and floral jewelry, elements that are iconically—or stereotypically—feminine that stood in contrast to the collection’s more “masculine” tailoring, which included a double-breasted coat dress, a square-shouldered, stand collar blazer, and a number of pant suits. The his/her vibe is typical of all H&M Studio collections, but this season it especially emphasized the contrasts between “strictness and softness…rawness and sweetness.”

Cult Gaia Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

As a certified LA It girl, Cult Gaia’s Jasmin Larian Hekmat knows what young women want in their clothes—they want to feel sexy and cool. They flock to her label because the designer is so good at finding the balance between force and femininity in her collections.

Every season, Hekmat goes to Paris for market. As she walked around the city taking in all the art and especially the sculptures, her fall collection began to come to life. She noticed that “the female sculptures are always stopped in movement,” and decided to “dig into that concept.” Bags like her “boob” clutch look like they’re chiseled out of stone, while the hero print of the season, a rich brown and yellow floral print named “Alice,” looks like it’s blurred in movement.

But the collection’s standouts were its simplest pieces, where Hekmat’s keen eye for detail becomes evident; like the leather jacket with built-in magnets at the collar so that it can be adapted from a classic zip-up to a biker style. “You know I grew up in a world of unboxing,” she said. “I want my customers to always be unpacking the products. I want my girl to always feel like every time she wears my stuff, she experiences that joy.”
