Watch Jimmy Kimmel Address Suspension, Sarah McLachlan Perform on Kimmel

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Addressing his current relationship with the network, Kimmel said “we talked it through, and at the end, even though they didn’t have to…they welcomed me back on the air. Unfortunately and, I think, unjustly, this puts them at risk. The President of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs.” He concluded his monologue by discussing the speech given by Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, during a memorial service organized by Turning Point USA, the conservative organization he co-founded: “On Sunday, Erika Kirk forgave the man who shot her husband. That is an example we should follow. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, as I do, there it was. That’s it. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow. It touched me deeply. It touches many, and if there’s anything we should take from this tragedy to carry forward, it should be that, and not this.”

Notably, this evening’s episode of Kimmel did not air on all ABC stations nationwide. The TV station groups Sinclair and Nexstar, which together control over 20 percent of the network’s local affiliates, had previously announced that they would pre-empt the show indefinitely on their programming schedules. Nexstar is currently trying to close a $6.2 billion merger with a rival TV company that will require FCC approval.

Sarah McLachlan was the musical guest on Kimmel tonight. She performed a solo piano rendition of the title track from Better Broken, her forthcoming first album in seven years. McLachlan recently cancelled her scheduled performance at the premiere event for Disney+’s Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery documentary, which took place on Sunday, September 21, “in support of free speech.” Watch her sing “Better Broken” below as well.

Post Malone to Perform in Assam This December

by jummy84 September 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Post Malone is set to perform in Guwahati on December 8, 2025, at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground. This will be his first solo headline show in India. Tickets for the concert open on September 20 at 12 PM IST on BookMyShow. The artist had earlier performed in India in December 2022 at the Zomato Feeding India Concert in Mumbai.

He gained worldwide recognition with songs like Rockstar featuring 21 Savage, Congratulations with Quavo, Circles, and Sunflower with Swae Lee from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Over time, he has blended multiple genres, moving between pop, rap, and country, and building a reputation as one of the most versatile performers today.

Recently, he has worked with leading names in the industry, including a feature on Taylor Swift’s 2024 track Fortnight and a 2025 collaboration with country star Morgan Wallen on I Ain’t Comin’ Back. Earlier this year, he also headlined Coachella, further establishing his global presence.

Post Malone

The Guwahati show was first mentioned by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who pointed to such concerts as a way to encourage cultural tourism in the region. After drawing over a million fans in North America and breaking records with his European stadium shows, Post Malone’s upcoming performance in Assam extends that global journey to Northeast India.

Clipse Become First Hip-Hop Artists To Perform At The Vatican

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

In a groundbreaking and reverent moment for both music and culture, Clipse—the legendary hip-hop duo comprised of Pusha T and No Malice—became the first hip-hop artists in history to perform at The Vatican.

The Virginians made the trek overseas to put forth a moving performance during the Grace for the World concert held in St. Peter’s Square on Saturday (Sept. 13).

Not only did Clipse shatter boundaries by stepping onto one of the most sacred stages on Earth, but they also took part in a historic first: Grace for the World marked the first-ever concert to be held in St. Peter’s Square, located at the heart of Vatican City in Rome, Italy.

The duo performed their soul-searching track “The Birds Don’t Sing” with a surprise appearance from John Legend, whose soaring vocals added depth and spiritual resonance to the already heartfelt set. The powerful collaboration left attendees in awe, blending the raw lyricism of hip-hop with gospel-infused soul.

“This is a rare cultural moment where the world stops and collectively tunes in. It is a message of unity and grace for all of humanity,” said Pharrell Williams, whose company Something in the Water co-produced the event alongside Nova Sky Stories and the legendary Andrea Bocelli.

The star-studded concert also featured performances from Jennifer Hudson, BamBam, Jelly Roll, Karol G, and Teddy Swims, a lineup that transcended genre, language, and faith.

For Clipse, the moment is another peak in a year of reinvention and resurgence. The duo’s long-awaited fourth studio album, Let God Sort ’Em Out, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, powered by singles like “Ace Trumpets” and “So Be It.” Their first release in over 15 years has already been hailed as one of 2025’s best hip-hop albums.

In a performance that bridged the sacred and the street, Clipse not only made history—they brought hip-hop to one of the holiest stages in the world.

Watch Clipse make history as first rappers to perform at the Vatican

Rap duo Clipse continued their comeback on Saturday (September 13) by becoming the first hip-hop act to perform at the Vatican – check out some of the footage below.

Brothers Pusha T and Malice were accompanied by John Legend and the Voices of Fire gospel choir as they performed their track ‘The Birds Don’t Sing’ from their album ‘Let God Sort Em Out’, released in July to become their first album since 2009.

They performed in front of over 250,000 people in St. Peter’s Square, as part of Pharrell Williams’ ‘Grace For The World’ concert that celebrated the 2025 Jubilee and helped close the third annual World Meeting on Human Fraternity.

Voices of Fire and Legend both featured on the album recording of the song. Co-written by Williams and Stevie Wonder – the latter providing piano and spoken word – ’The Birds Don’t Sing’ sees Pusha T and Malice coming to terms with the loss of their parents. Take a look at some of the footage form the concert here.

Clipse recently finished a US tour, during which they brought out Kendrick Lamar to perform their track ‘Chains & Whips’, and they’re set to appear at ONE Musicfest, Dia De Los Deftones, and Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival. They’ll also be coming to the UK and Europe in November, and you can find tickets here.

Clipse’s remaining 2025 tour dates are:

OCTOBER
26 – ONE Musicfest, Atlanta, GA

NOVEMBER
1 – Dia De Los Deftones, San Diego, CA
5 – 013 Poppodium, Tilburg, Netherlands
8 – L’Olympia, Paris, France
9 – O2 Forum Kentish Town, London, UK
10 – Manchester Academy, Manchester, UK
12 – O2 Forum Kentish Town, London, UK
20 – O2 Academy Brixton, London, UK

Clipse were first active as a duo from 1994 before going on hiatus in 2010 to focus on their solo careers. They temporarily reformed in both 2019 and 2022 – even appearing on stage together – before officially coming back in 2023.

In a three-star review of ‘Let God Sort Em Out’, NME wrote: “‘Let God Sort Em Out’ isn’t a total misfire: it’s composed, thoughtful and often impressively lyrically detailed. But after 16 years, Clipse didn’t come back knocking down doors and shocking the world. They came back to remind you they’re still here, still alive, still ruminating.”

Junior H Plans to Perform at Tijuana Concert Despite Cartel Threat

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Authorities are investigating an alleged cartel death threat directed at Junior H asking the corridos singer not to perform in Tijuana at an upcoming show. A rep for the singer confirms to Rolling Stone on Wednesday that “the date is still on” and tickets will continue to be on sale, despite the alleged threat.

According to Mexican newspaper El Universal, a “narco manta,” or banner, was allegedly hung in the Buena Vista area of Tijuana and found by police around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. The Baja California Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Billboard that it was investigating the incident.

“Junior H, refrain from showing up on 08/11. If not, you’re going to get yourself killed,” reads the supposed banner, shared on social media, in Spanish. “Stop the nonsense: Not singing narcocorridos, it won’t save you. We do not forgive. Signed: CJNG.”

The prosecutor’s office in Tijuana did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment but told Billboard that it would “provide full security” for Junior if he does choose to perform at the city’s Estadio Caliente.

In recent months, Junior has refrained from singing the narcocorrdios in his discography, including during a Coachella performance in April. Junior welcomed Peso Pluma onstage and they skipped their collaboration “El Azul,” written about a drug cartel leader in Sinaloa.

Junior H is currently on his $ad Boyz Live & Broken Tour across the United States, with a show scheduled for Charlotte tomorrow. He’s set to conclude his U.S. run in early November at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. He is still scheduled to play Tijuana two days later, on Nov. 8.

The news around Junior H’s threat comes several months after Grupo Firme canceled a performance in Mazatlán, Sinaloa over a narcomanta Firme ended up canceling the show. “The well-being of the people who’ve been with us through this journey: our family, which is all of you, our fans, is and will always be the most important thing,” read the statement.

Several years, ago Peso Pluma and Fuerza Régida were forced to cancel their shows in Tijuana after similar narco manta threats — supposedly on behalf of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación — were placed around the city.

Watch Lady Gaga’s Perform ‘Vanish Into You’ on ‘Colbert’

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Lady Gaga stopped by The Late Show to perform her song “Vanish Into You.” Hot off her win for Artist of the Year at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night, Gaga performed an intimate, emotional rendition of the piano-led ballad.

“Vanish Into You” appeared on Lady Gaga’s most recent LP, Mayhem, which dropped in March. The song was written by Gaga alongside Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, and Michael Polansky, and produced by Gaga with Watt and Cirkut. The track was notably the first song she wrote for the album and seemingly references her fiancé Michael Polansky. “In ‘Vanish Into You,’ I imagine that I just want to disappear into the person I love most,” the singer told ELLE.

Lady Gaga recorded Mayhem at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-la Studios. “The album started as me conquering a fear: to return to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” she said in a statement. “This record allowed me to reclaim a huge part of myself. It’s about enjoying everything I am and sharing that joy with my fans.”

She told Rolling Stone that she wanted to harness some of the darker sound and imagery from The Fame Monster and Born This Way. “I wanted to traverse old ground while breaking new ground, which I think is hard to do,” she said. “There are a few moments on the album where some people might say, ‘Oh, that reminds me of this,’ because I do have a style, but I made an effort musically to push myself to a new place.”

Trending Stories

Not only did Gaga take home the award for Artist of the Year at the VMAs, she also performed live from her show at Madison Square Garden for the televised ceremony. Gaga joined the broadcast for a performance of “Abracadabra” and “The Dead Dance.”

While accepting Artist of the Year, Gaga spoke about the importance of artistry. “Being an artist is an attempt to connect the souls of people all over the world. Being an artist is a discipline, a craft meant for reaching into someone’s heart, where it grows its roots and reminding them to dream,” she says. “Being an artist is a responsibility to make the audience smile, dance, cry, release at any turn. It is a method of building understanding and celebrating community. I hope as you navigate through the mayhem of daily life, you are reminded of the importance of the art of your life that you can count on yourself and your simple skills to keep you whole, your rehearsal, your discipline, your craft, deserves to be rewarded for its passion.”

Yasmin Williams Shares Statement on Decision to Perform at Trump-Led Kennedy Center

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Last week, Yasmin Williams announced a free show at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC on September 18. Now the Virginian composer and guitarist—who posted screenshots of a heated email exchange with Kennedy Center president Richard Grenell in April, and later elaborated on the experience in an interview with Pitchfork—has shared a statement explaining her decision.

According to Williams, her upcoming performance was planned prior to President Donald J. Trump’s overhaul of the Kennedy Center board of trustees. “I’m doing the show for all the Kennedy Center staff who formed their own union and are still working there, fighting to maintain the institution’s integrity,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m doing it for the folks who were unjustifiably fired. I’m doing it for the elderly ushers who were told to not wear masks publicly while working, even facing backlash from higher ups if they wore one.” Read Williams’ full message below.

In February, President Trump was elected chairman of the Kennedy Center. He named Grenell as interim executive director and dismissed all 18 Democratic appointees from the traditionally bipartisan board of trustees. This led Ben Folds to step down from his role as artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra. Dozens of artists, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rhiannon Giddens, and Issa Rae, subsequently cancelled their scheduled performances.

Williams emailed Grenell directly to inquire whether the Kennedy Center’s “hiring practices, performance booking, and staffing” would be meaningfully impacted following the shakeup. In the ensuing back-and-forth, Grenell accused artists of cancelling shows “because they couldn’t be in the presence of republicans.” “I remember saying that I didn’t think that was the right thing to do,” Williams told Pitchfork at the time. “I thought that artists should continue to play there, mainly because I know a lot of people who work there and their incomes were being really, really negatively impacted from artists canceling shows.”

Williams shared her latest album, Acadia, in 2024. Last month, President Trump announced the first class of Kennedy Center honorees since he took over as chair. Gloria Gaynor, Kiss, George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, and British actor Michael Crawford will be recognized at the annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in December.

Read about Yasmin Williams’ 2021 album Urban Driftwood at No. 59 on “The 100 Best Albums of the 2020s.”

Yasmin Williams:

I recently announced that I’m playing at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage on September 18th. Some folks seem confused with this decision, so I’ll explain why I decided to go through with the show.

Leon Thomas, GELO Perform at Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Show

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

When word got out that the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event would be taking over Webster Hall for a free concert on Friday (Sept. 5), New Yorkers from all walks of life consumed three blocks waiting — and hoping — to get inside. Those lucky enough to gain entry celebrated every second of the night, as DJ Ohso meticulously spun through hip-hop bangers, sultry afro tunes and a little bit of Paramore to keep the crowd energized, engaged and hungry for a showcase from Billboard‘s Rookies of the Year.

Armanii kicked the night off with his signature blend of dancehall and hip-hop grooves, as fans swayed to “8:00 PM,” “JUMP (Bounce)” and others. Attendee’s workday blues than completely vanished thanks to Billboard‘s Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year GELO, who swaggered about the stage and ignited the party with the littest cuts off his debut album, League of My Own. While fans cheered and supported the newer tracks, it of course was his viral hit “Tweaker” that fully locked the crowd in with its unifying “woah’s” and “ahh’s.”

After a short breather, Odeal‘s presence was immediately felt throughout Webster’s Hall, as people erupted just at the mere sight of the African Rookie of the Year. There were dozens of diehard supporters in the audience, who screamed out every syllable of “Soh-Soh,” “London Summers” and of course “Miami,” with the soon-to-appear headliner Leon Thomas. Before that, though, Ravyn Lenae floated onto the stage to quickly transport the crowd to a more mystical realm. Lenae gracefully sang through her biggest hits including “One Wish” and “Love Me Not,” sprinkling pixie dust along the way like an R&B fairy godmother.

But it was Thomas that really brought the house down. He railed on the drums, shredded on the guitar, sang his absolute heart out — firing off every firearm in his musical arsenal and leaving no survivors. The crowd, admittedly a bit worn after such a lengthy showcase, rallied behind Thomas and fully came back to life as Ty Dolla $ign casually strutted out while singing his verse on “Far Fetched.” The DJ then queued up “Carnival” right after, the Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty’s Vultures 1 cut that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 2024. As Ty sang through the single and hyped up the crowd, Leon and his band — for lack of a better term — rocked the f—k out. Then, almost like a fever dream, the night was over, leaving the crowd sweaty and satisfied in every way.

Lady Gaga to Perform at VMAs 2025

written by jummy84

MTV has announced that Lady Gaga will perform at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. She joins a lineup that currently includes Busta Rhymes, J Balvin, Ricky Martin, and Sabrina Carpenter, among others. Mariah Carey will receive the Video Vanguard Award. The 2025 VMAs take place on Sunday, September 7, at UBS Arena, in Elmont, New York.

Lady Gaga previously performed at the VMAs in 2009—where she delivered a star-making rendition of “Paparazzi”—and again in 2020 alongside Ariana Grande. She’s eligible for 12 awards this year, the most of any nominee, including Best Artist as well as Video and Song of the Year for her Bruno Mars duet “Die With a Smile.”

Since releasing her new album, Mayhem, in March, Lady Gaga has pulled double duty as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live and headlined the first night of Coachella 2025. Her Mayhem Ball Tour of North America and Europe is set to run through December.
