Devin Haney’s Ex Leena Sayed Says Reports Of Physical Ab*se Were Not “Accurate” After Previously Filing Restraining Order Claiming He P*nched Her While Pregnant

Leena Sayed is setting the record straight about her past relationship with professional boxer Devin Haney.

In a new Instagram Story, Sayed denied reports that she had accused Haney of physically a$$aulting her.

“The news reports that alleged that I said I was physically harmed by Devin were not accurate,” she wrote. “I’m delighted that Devin and I are both focused on co-parenting our daughter.”

Earlier this year, Sayed reportedly filed a restraining order claiming Haney p*nched her while she was pregnant. Haney has since filed a defamation lawsuit against her following the allegations.

Now, it seems that the pair are focused on moving forward. What are your thoughts on this turn of events?

Judge Denies Tory Lanez’s Motion for Protective Order in Ongoing Legal Battle With Megan Thee Stallion

A new court filing reveals that Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) has been dealt a legal setback in his ongoing civil case against Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete).

According to official documents filed on October 16, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Judge George H. Wu denied Lanez’s motion for a protective order.

The filing — titled Daystar Peterson v. Megan Pete — states that after hearing oral arguments, the judge ruled against Lanez and ordered the case to be transferred back to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida for further proceedings.

Attorneys Crystal A. Morgan appeared for the plaintiff by phone, while Mari F. Henderson represented the defense.

The denied motion marks the latest development in the complex legal dispute between the rapper and Megan Thee Stallion, whose ongoing court battles have drawn intense public attention since Lanez’s earlier criminal conviction related to the 2020 shooting incident.

bitchy | Virginia Giuffre signed a gag order so QEII’s Jubbly wouldn’t have distractions

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

I remember a lot of the details around Virginia Giuffre’s civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew. She filed in 2021, and the lawsuit was due to go to trial in early 2022. Andrew made a lot of noise (through sources) about how he would fight Virginia tooth and nail, because they had never met and she had never been trafficked to him. His lawyers immediately began attacking Virginia’s character, referring to her as the “head bitch” who recruited for Jeffrey Epstein, leading everyone to wonder how and why Andrew and his lawyers would know that. Just days before the trial was set to begin, Andrew folded like a cheap suit. He refused to fly to America, and his lawyers quickly negotiated a settlement with Virginia. Andrew “borrowed” money from his mother to pay Virginia, a woman he still swore he never met. As part of the settlement, his lawyers attached a one-year gag order. We knew that at the time, and we also knew that Virginia planned to write a book after the gag order lapsed. Now, just days before Virginia’s posthumous memoir’s publication, Andrew has suddenly “given up” his titles and honors. Obviously, most people believe that Virginia’s book is going to do even further damage to Andrew and the Windsors. Well, in a new excerpt from Nobody’s Girl, Virginia wrote about the gag order.

Prince Andrew insisted Virginia Giuffre sign a gagging order so he did not embarrass Queen Elizabeth during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The bombshell claim is set to be revealed in Ms Giuffre’s tell-all memoir from beyond the grave, which will be published on Tuesday.

In her book, Ms Giuffre describes the details of her legal battle and eventual settlement with Prince Andrew, which have so far been closely guarded. She tells how Andrew’s disastrous Newsnight was like an ‘injection of jet fuel’ for her legal team, and it raised the possibility of ‘subpoenaing’ his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, and daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and drawing them into the legal case.

Ms Giuffre filed a lawsuit against the royal in August 2021, seeking unspecified damages for battery, including rape, and the infliction of emotional distress. She alleged that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew three times when she was just 17 years old under the orders of late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The case was settled outside of court on February 15, 2022, for a reported £12 million, with £2 million thought to have been donated to her sex trafficking charity. Prince Andrew did not admit wrongdoing and has consistently and vehemently denied the claims. However, in her new book Ms Giuffre exposes the details of the gagging order she was reportedly asked to sign by the prince.

She writes: ‘I agreed to a one-year gag order, which seemed important to the Prince because it ensured that his mother’s Platinum Jubilee would not be tarnished any more than it already had been.’

The agreement meant Ms Giuffre was barred from discussing her abuse at the hands of Epstein during the 70th year of the late Queen’s reign.

[From The Daily Mail]

As I said, this isn’t new information (although the Mail presents it as such). We knew that there was a temporary gag order at the time. Sources close to Virginia also openly discussed her plans to write a book post-gag order. What few people remember is that there was a secondary part to the deal. While QEII “gave” the money to Andrew to settle the lawsuit, then-Prince Charles had to give his permission for the settlement money too. By this time, QEII was so frail and she was being heavily manipulated by everyone, and Charles was the one to make the call on the money. In exchange for agreeing to give the money to Andrew, Charles got something in return: QEII suddenly agreed that Camilla should be called “Queen Consort” and not Princess Consort. Charles extracted that from QEII and her courtiers as part of this rotten f–king deal (the two things, the settlement and QEII’s letter, were nine days apart). Meanwhile, the Mail also had this story:

Prince Andrew embroiled the Metropolitan Police and one of Queen Elizabeth’s most senior aides in a campaign to smear his teenage sex accuser, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. A bombshell email obtained by this newspaper exposes how Andrew asked his taxpayer-funded Met bodyguard to investigate Virginia Giuffre and passed him her date of birth and confidential social security number.

Astonishingly, Andrew then told Ed Perkins, Queen Elizabeth’s deputy press secretary, that he had asked one of his personal protection officers – part of the Met’s elite SO14 Royal Protection Group – to dig up information about Ms Giuffre. He emailed Perkins hours before this newspaper first published the infamous picture of the duke with 17-year-old Ms Giuffre, which would ultimately bring about his downfall.

‘It would also seem she has a criminal record in the [United] States,’ he wrote. ‘I have given her DoB [date of birth] and social security number for investigation with XXX, the on duty ppo [personal protection officer].’

It is not suggested that the officer complied with the prince’s request, or that she did, in fact, have a criminal record.

[From The Daily Mail]

Yeah, I believe this. I believe that some Establishment figures have helped Andrew along the way as well, and I’m not surprised at all with this.

Why Crime Shows Like Law & Order: SVU Are Comfort Viewing

Why Crime Shows Like Law & Order: SVU Are Comfort Viewing

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Everyone has their own definition of comfort viewing — the TV shows one might watch after a long hard day, or right before bed. The familiar rhythms of a 30 Rock long since memorized, the latest soapy installment of Grey’s Anatomy, or… a show about rape and murder, like Law and Order: SVU.

Watching a dark crime drama as relaxation might seem counterintuitive to a good night’s sleep. Yet it makes sense to a wide range of experts who study the ways pop culture impacts the way we see reality. As Dr. Lisa Kort-Butler tells Consequence, “It’s a grim universe. Some folks want to escape from that in some way. Comedy does that, but some of us want to know there’s something steady in the world. These crime shows, although they are grim, are steady on the side of right.”

As a sociologist who studies media representations of crime and justice, Kort-Butler has observed that a big factor in the comfort we associate with these shows comes from their inherent formula, one that “is comforting because you know the story. It’s the same reason kids watch the same things over and over and over again, because they know what to expect out of it.”

That basic formula is something University of Florida professor Dr. Andrew Selepak describes in terms those aforementioned kids can understand: “We like the fact that within an hour there’s a crime, and by the end they catch the criminal. The bad guys usually get caught and the good guys win. The classic white hat cowboy defeats the black hat cowboy. That, in a way, is comforting — as opposed to real life, where the majority of murders in a city like Chicago don’t even get solved.”

A show like SVU goes beyond that bad-guy-good-guy narrative as well, as the rhythms of the investigation — a crime is committed, the cops investigate, a suspect is identified, “dun dun” — remain overall very similar. Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Susan Hatters-Friedman says, “It’s comforting because we know how it’s going to end up, and you feel mastery over that.” The result is that the viewer ends up “feeling safe in this potentially traumatizing environment by watching those shows. Even though every episode is different, there is this pattern of how they’re presented.”

Dr. Sharon Lauricella is a communication and digital media studies scholar who has specifically studied the impact of watching crime procedurals on viewers, and says that 25 years ago, research in this area was largely focused on the impact of crime procedurals on the audience: “Do they make people more paranoid? Do they make people feel unsafe? And then most of the research found that it didn’t really make people feel unsafe. It didn’t give people paranoia, locking their doors, things like that. So then the focus of media research changed to, well, why do people watch these things anyway?”

In Lauricella’s research, she found that half the participants in her study population said they watched crime procedurals because of curiosity: “How do the police work? What are the steps in figuring out a crime? How does the legal system work? Things like that.”

Accordingly, there is legitimate reason to worry that people accept what they see on TV as reality. Hatters-Friedman mentions “the CSI effect,” named after the 2000-2015 series and its spinoffs, which refers to how real-life juries today “are so used to all the evidence they bring to court [on TV shows] to prove someone’s guilty. It’s all this pseudoscientific stuff — like they come back with a DNA test the next day, whereas in real life, it takes time. That’s not how the real world works.”

Along similar lines, when people watch crime procedurals, it’s not that they don’t understand it isn’t real, but Hatters-Friedman says that “they take away these lessons from it, as if this is how it is and how quickly you can solve it. Anecdotally, working in forensics, people will ask me things that are just impossible things. But they just presume it would easily happen because they saw it on TV.”

Karnataka HC extends stay order on movie ticket price cap, will it affect Kantara Chapter 1 collections? Details inside

Karnataka HC extends stay order on movie ticket price cap, will it affect Kantara Chapter 1 collections? Details inside

by jummy84 October 4, 2025
written by jummy84

On Friday, the Karnataka High Court extended its stay order on the ₹200 price limit imposed on movie tickets in all multiplexes in the state. The Multiplex Association of India has moved court against the Karnataka State Film Chamber of Commerce’s decision to cap ticket prices in the state.

Kantara Chapter 1 stars Rishab Shetty in this charged-up prequel to Kantara.

The extension comes as Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is running to packed houses across the state. Theatre owners had hoped that not having a ticket price cap during such a blockbuster would help their businesses by increasing collections.

The Karnataka High Court order

In the case of Karnataka State Film Chamber of Commerce vs Multiplex Association of India, filed before the Principal Bench of the Karnataka High Court, the Court, on 30.09.2025, in addition to continuing the stay order issued on 23.09.2025 regarding the ₹200 limit imposed on cinema tickets, has ordered as follows.

All cash transactions shall be digitally traceable, and cash registers shall be countersigned by the manager of the multiplex daily. The court has also asked moviegoers to keep a record of their tickets and save them for potential reimbursement in the future, in case the price cap is upheld by the court at a later date.

“In case the petitioner is successful in the final judgment of this appeal/petition, all the amounts collected through electronic means (excluding applicable GST) during the pendency of this writ petition shall be refunded to the individual customers who booked the tickets through the same mode of payment used for the booking. The respondent No. 1 shall submit a refund process plan to the licensing authority within 45 days from today for approval, which shall explain the procedure for refunding the customers. After approval by the licensing authority, it shall be placed before this court for final approval,” the order read

Will the order affect Kantara Chapter 1?

Not having a price cap means multiplex owners can price tickets higher than ₹200, which is the case in most tier-1 multiplexes across Karnataka right now. Given it’s the festive season, the high ticket prices have not deterred even the family audiences from coming to the theatres. And Kantara Chapter 1 has reaped the rewards. The film registered 82% occupancy for its Kannada shows on Friday, including 95-100% for night shows in centres like Bengaluru and Hubli. This will only increase over the weekend.

By the time the court rules on the price cap in its next hearing, Kantara Chapter 1 will have completed the bulk of its run. Any refund that could be given to the viewers later would come from the theatres’ pockets.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 earned over ₹100 crore in India in its first two days. It is poised for a long run at the box office and is likely to end up as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year.

How ‘Law & Order’ Writes Off Mehcad Brooks’ Det. Shaw

After Deadline exclusively revealed Mehcad Brooks‘ exit from Law & Order in July, the NBC revival has explained what happened to his Det. Jalen Shaw.

In Thursday’s Season 25 premiere, Lt. Jessica Brady (Maura Tierney) tells Det. Vincent Riley (Reid Scott) of his former’s partner fate in a quick exchange that leaves Brooks’ character open for a potential return, following the actors departure after three seasons.

“I just spoke to Shaw. Something opened up over at the 8-8, and he’s going to take it,” says Lt. Brady of Shaw’s new position at the 88th Precinct of the NYPD.

“I knew he wanted to get back to Brooklyn. So good for him,” says Riley in response. “I’m going to miss that guy, though.”

Shaw’s first appearance in the franchise came in a 2022 episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime, part of a crossover event with parent series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He joined the flagship series with Season 22 in 2022,, filling the void left by the departure of Anthony Anderson‘s Det. Kevin Bernard, after the show was revived earlier that year from its original 1990-2010 run.

As Deadline previously reported, Brooks’ exit from the series was mutual as he explores other opportunities. Although the majority of the cast has returned for Season 25, they will be in fewer episodes as part of a cost-saving measure.

David Ajala has since joined the cast as a new series regular, to serve as a new counterpart for Det. Riley.

Adam Kay books in order: from fiction to non-fiction

You’ve definitely heard of Adam Kay following the success of his book, This Is Going To Hurt, which was later adapted into a BBC hit series.

What you may not know about him is that he also had a series of successful children’s novels to teach young ones about their bodies and medical marvels.

Though Kay has predominantly worked across the world of non-fiction, he’s stepped into the fictional space with his debut novel, A Particularly Nasty Case, which is a crime thriller about a doctor wrapped up in a serial murder mystery world. It just so happens to be the September book for the Radio Times Book Club, sponsored by Dr. Oetker Ristorante.

There’s one clear connecting theme between Kay’s work in all its formats; it’s always set in the world of medicine.

Whether you’re looking for a recommendation for a little one or something for yourself, here’s the definitive guide to Adam Kay’s work in order.
