Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet are leading the upcoming sports-comedy movie Marty Supreme. Amid production, the co-stars made headlines after Paltrow admitted that she was unfamiliar with the role of an intimacy coordinator. Her revelation came shortly after the two were spotted filming PDA-filled scenes.

According to Vanity Fair, she remarked, “There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed.” She continued, “Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.”

While Paltrow has been in Hollywood longer than Chalamet, Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie praised her star power and presence on screen. He told Vanity Fair, “She’s a movie star. I say that in the cosmic sense. She’s got a gravitational pull that only a camera can depict.” He added, “I think her absence from acting has lent a vulnerability to her abilities.”

With growing anticipation for the film, fans are eager to learn more details about it. Below, find everything there is to know about its release date, the rest of the cast, how to watch it and more.

What Is Marty Supreme About?

According to Paltrow, the film follows “This woman who is married to someone who is in the ping-pong mafia, as it were.” She explained,”They meet and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both.” The titular character, Marty (Chalamet), is the ping-pong player.

Marty Supreme Release Date

The film is expected to premiere on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, according to IMDb.

Per IMDb, alongside Chalamet and Paltrow, the film stars Sandra Bernhard, Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, and others. Speaking about Chalamet, Paltrow told Vanity Fair, “He’s just a very polite, properly raised, I was going to say kid. He’s a man who takes his work really seriously and is a fun partner.”

Alongside Chalamet and Paltrow, the ensemble includes Sandra Bernhard, Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, Tyler, The Creator, Adam Sandler, and Rachel Sennott in supporting roles.

Where to Watch Marty Supreme

The movie will be released in theaters on December 25. A streaming release has not been announced yet.

Sabrina Carpenter To Star In ‘Alice In Wonderland’ Movie

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

In September it was revealed that Disney Channel alum Sabrina Carpenter would be returning to her acting roots for Seth Rogen’s upcoming The Muppet Show revival. Today, she’s officially adding another acting project to her schedule, as she’s set to star in and co-produce an upcoming Alice In Wonderland movie musical.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the untitled film for Universal Pictures will be based on Lewis Carroll’s classic 1865 novel. Lorene Scafaria, best known for her 2019 strip club crime-comedy Hustlers, will write and direct the new Alice adaptation, while Wicked mastermind Marc Platt will also produce.

Sources told THR that the movie is a “passion project” for Carpenter, who reportedly approached Universal herself to pitch a new Alice In Wonderland adaptation before Scafaria was attached to the project. I wonder if the Mad Hatter will serve espresso instead of tea.

Meanwhile, Carpenter is also celebrating six new Grammy nominations: “Manchild” is up for Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video, while Man’s Best Friend got nods for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Is Netflix's 'Frankenstein' Guillermo Del Toro's Last Monster Movie?
TV & Streaming

Is Netflix’s ‘Frankenstein’ Guillermo Del Toro’s Last Monster Movie?

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” is Guillermo del Toro’s bible. When he was 11 years old, the novel and subsequent movies were not only his first love, they were how he processed his relationship with his father, and wrestled with his Catholicism.

“I do believe the book questions God for why are we here and what makes us human,” said del Toro. “So the perfect analogy for me, between me and my father, Catholic dogma, the idea that God sends Jesus to be crucified and experience pain and death. And I always wondered as a kid, ‘Why did he do that?’”

While as a kid the story became how del Toro started articulating his feelings about his Catholicism, as an adult, he built a room in his house dedicated to Shelley, a life-size silicon recreation of the author at her desk. His Los Angeles “living room” is dedicated to the various movie incarnations of Victor Frankenstein’s monster through the years, including eight statues.

"Little Amélie or the Character of Rain"

And as a filmmaker, del Toro’s dream of making “Frankenstein” dated back to his childhood years as an 8mm auteur. The director said all the hyperbole —  life’s quest, North Star, Mount Everest — applies, and while on the podcast, admitted his previous films were some version of him trying to tell the “Frankenstein” tale:

“Cronos”: “A 100 percent [“Frankenstein” inspired]. The scar is a Frankenstein scar on his forehead, he is about eternal life and he welcomes the sun in a translucent skin.”

“Blade II”: “Completely a ‘Frankenstein’ story with the villain Nomack [Luke Goss] and his father who sent him out into the world, and says, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”

“‘Hellboy’ is sort of half Frankenstein.”

“Mimic”:  “The science experiment gone awry, where somebody called the creatures ‘Little Frankensteins.’”

One of the defining characteristics of del Toro’s career has been his movie monsters, the pinnacle of which was his desire to make the most “beautiful” version of Victor Frankenstein’s creation imaginable, so much so that his decades-long collaboration with creature designer Mike Hill was a dress rehearsal.

“If Victor has been thinking about making this thing for 20 years or so, he would make a beautiful thing. He wouldn’t look like an ICU victim,” said Del Toro on how he envisioned the skin of the cobbled together monster. “That I’ve been rehearsing, if you watch my movies, the pale vampire on ‘Blade II,’ the pale vampire on ‘Cronos,’ is the same look I was trying to rehearse for ‘Frankenstein.’”

But when it came time on set for Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) to finally assemble del Toro’s dream of the perfect monster (Jacob Elordi), it was the filmmaker who felt unexpectedly transformed.

“Something happened when Victor was doing the anatomy assembly. Oscar and I were really linked, and I looked at him, he looked at me, and without saying anything, we felt something had changed,” said del Toro, who after having time to process the moment, has concluded, “I had dreamt of that scene so long, and all of a sudden we’re shooting it and I felt like something left — it was something to do with monsters, something to do with my filming language. Something changed and I think it’s never felt like that ever.”

While on the podcast, del Toro stated he didn’t know if he was done with movie monsters. He is deep in the process of making a stop motion animated version of Kazuo Ishiguro’s fantasy novel “The Buried Giant,” which does feature some creatures, but said his curiosity for the first time lies away from the movie monsters that have defined his career.

But it’s not just creatures, it’s his filmmaking. The polished, precise, colorful, grand, sweeping soundstage craft he has been perfecting for decades — much like Elordi’s monster — seems to have also culminated on “Frankenstein.” In particular, del Toro talked about how he had been sharpening his mastery of camera movement with his last four films, growing to the point he was shooting almost exclusively on a technocrane, as he learned how to dial into the exact emotional rhythm and feeling of a moment with how his camera moved through space.

“I thought about [camera movement] like a symphony, but I want to do something rougher, I want to try different uses of light on set,” said del Toro. “I’m very intrigued by the ’70s. I’ve never allowed cuts to not breathe, I leave every moment to breathe.”

On the podcast, del Toro talked about wanting to make his version of a grounded, gritty ’70s film, with films by Sidney Lumet, Don Siegel, Alan Pakula, and what he calls the “ugly Paris trilogy” of Roman Polanski (“The Tenant,” “Frantic”), calling his name. In other words, the polar opposite of the filmic language he’s been honing for 30 years.

Del Toro, 61, admitted age does have something to do with wanting to mix it up for the first time — inspired by his friend, the sci-fi body horror master David Cronenberg’s 2005 shift to more grounded thrillers, “A History of Violence” and “Eastern Promises.”

“When I talked to David Cronenberg when he turned 74, he said to me, ‘I’m trying to scare myself into being young. You have to, or it goes away.’ And he did ‘A History of Violence’ — it’s a departure, but it’s not,” said del Toro, referring to the fact Cronenberg’s POV as filmmaker is still recognizable in his later films. “So, I’m sure I will not be unrecognizable,  but it would be pushing myself to something else.”

8 Rom-com Films of Varun Dhawan for Your Next Movie Night

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Romantic comedies hold a special place in Bollywood. They promise joy, laughter and a decent dose of heartwarming moments. Arguably, no modern Bollywood actor embodies that spirit better than Varun Dhawan. His easy charisma, infectious comic timing and heart-on-his-sleeve performances has made him the face of 21st-century Hindi rom-coms. From his debut performance in Student of the Year to Badrinath Ki Dulhania and the family-centric warmth of Jug Jugg Jeeyo, the actor’s journey through the genre has been remarkable. He has played the role of the playful college boy to the responsible and grown-up lover.

1. Student of the Year (2012)

Rom-com fans love Rohan Nanda. Every star needs a perfect launchpad and for Varun Dhawan, it came in the form of Karan Johar’s glossy and youth-driven Student of the Year. The confident and stylish rich kid with a vulnerable heart made an unforgettable first impression. The film was a celebration of friendship, rivalry and first love. Varun’s character wore designer outfits and rocked in dance competitions. His chemistry with Alia Bhatt was playful yet sincere and hinted at the strong on-screen partnerships they would later share.

2. Main Tera Hero (2014)

Varun Dhawan

Two years later, Varun turned the volume up with Main Tera Hero. Interestingly, the movie was directed by his father, David Dhawan, the king of 90s slapstick romance. Varun channelled the manic energy of Govinda and Salman Khan with his own youthful twist. As Seenu, the mischievous small-town boy with big-city ambitions, he danced through chaos and confusion involving not one, but two -leading ladies. The co-stars included Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri. The film’s humour was deliberately over-the-top and Varun owned every bit of it.

3. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014)

Varun Dhawan

Released in the same year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania showed an entirely different side of Varun. He wasn’t the loud prankster anymore. Humpty was an endearing Delhi boy hopelessly in love with the strong-willed Kavya (Alia Bhatt). The boy-meets-girl story felt rooted in everyday life.

Varun’s character was relatable. He played a man who was flawed but full of heart. He was willing to stand up to tradition for love. His crackling chemistry with Alia Bhatt gave the film its emotional pulse. Together, they created one of the decade’s most loved screen pairs. The movie proved to be a simple story with warmth and relatability.

4. Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)

Varun Dhawan

If Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was about fun and heart, Badrinath Ki Dulhania brought in doses of maturity. Varun played the role of Badri. He is a small-town man raised in a patriarchal environment. Varun explored a new kind of romantic hero. He is one who learns and grows through love. Opposite Alia Bhatt’s fiercely independent Vaidehi, Badri’s journey from entitled lover to understanding partner became a reflection of changing gender dynamics in India. What could have been a frothy rom-com instead became a story that teaches empathy and respect.

Varun was able to balance humour and intensity with ease. The film cemented his reputation not just as a bankable rom-com star but as an actor unafraid of evolving. It remains one of the few mainstream Bollywood romances that combine entertainment with social awareness.

5. Dilwale (2015)

Varun Dhawan

While Dilwale is remembered primarily as the reunion of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, Varun Dhawan’s presence added a refreshing youthfulness to the mix. As Veer, the younger brother of SRK’s character, he brought charm, humour and a bright spark of romance opposite Kriti Sanon. The film’s scale was massive! The fast cars, exotic locales and sweeping emotions were larger-than-life. Amidst all, Varun managed to carve out his own space within the ensemble. His track offered a lighter, more playful romantic energy that balanced the film’s dramatic core.

6. Judwaa 2 (2017)

Varun Dhawan

A reboot of his father’s and Salman Khan’s iconic Judwaa, this film brought Varun into full-blown entertainer territory. Playing twins Raja and Prem, one street-smart, one soft-spoken, he delivered a performance brimming with old-school comedy and cheeky romance. Rom-com elements ran throughout the film, with Varun’s interactions with Jacqueliene Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu adding sparkle to the chaos. While critics were divided, audiences loved the nostalgia and the unabashed humour.

7. Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022)

Varun Dhawan

A decade after his debut, Varun Dhawan’s rom-com persona had matured and Jug Jugg Jeeyo reflected that growth. Here, he played Kuku, a married man facing the complexities of love after the honeymoon phase fades.

Set against the backdrop of family weddings and intergenerational relationships, the film explored how love evolves with time. It was witty yet grounded and funny yet reflective. Varun’s chemistry with Kiara Advani felt fresh. Moreover, his interactions with senior co-stars like Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor were widely praised.

Interestingly, Jug Jugg Jeeyo shows Varun Dhawan in a more grounded and emotionally aware avatar. He still maintains his funny person but he appears more human than ever.

8. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025)

Varun Dhawan

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari had generated massive buzz as a return to Varun’s rom-com roots. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the man behind the Dulhania films, the movie promised to blend classic romance with contemporary flair and it delivered.

For fans, this project feels like a full-circle moment: Varun reuniting with the genre that defined his stardom. In this movie, Varun starred alongside Janhvi Kapoor Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra and Maniesh Paul.

More than a decade into his career, Varun Dhawan stands as one of Bollywood’s most dependable romantic-comedy star. He is a performer who can make audiences laugh, cry and dance all within the same film. His filmography is an example in how to keep a genre vibrant without letting it stagnate.

bitchy | Duchess Meghan filmed a ‘small cameo role’ in a movie in LA this week

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Late Tuesday and early Wednesday, Page Six published a trilogy of stories about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, all of them sourced and promoted from Kensington Palace. Prince William is not slick in the least, and the tabloid stories were part of William’s emotional-support smearing! In one of the stories, a “Hollywood source” swore up and down that people in LA absolutely hate Harry and Meghan, and that no one wants to work with them. Not even 24 hours later, the Sun and the LA trade papers got the tip that Meghan was actually at a studio, filming a small role in a movie with Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Hahahaha. From the Sun, an outlet which put this story on their cover (hahaha).

Stars will welcome back the Duchess of Sussex as she shoots a Hollywood movie. Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid — son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid — and Brit Henry Golding are among those filming Close Personal Friends.

Meghan, who announced her retirement from acting eight years ago, is on set today in Pasadena, LA, playing herself in the Amazon MGM Studios production about two couples, one famous and the other not.

Last night a studio source said: “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set. Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

[From The Sun]

Not “she has been swamped with offers”!!! Not an admission that people in LA love Meghan and want her to work on their films and TV projects! My god, this is so funny. What else… Variety confirmed the Sun’s story and they said Meghan filmed a “small cameo role” in the film about “a ‘regular’ couple that meets a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, lines are crossed and things get awkward.” What’s crazy about that is… why not film Meghan’s cameo IN Santa Barbara, close to where she lives? Why did they ask her to schlep to the studio?? Anyway, People Magazine had this exclusive as well:

Meghan Markle’s newest role has her feeling “very relaxed and happy.” After eight years away from acting in film and television productions, the Duchess of Sussex is now working on a movie featuring stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson, an insider confirms to PEOPLE on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Sun was first to report the news of Meghan’s new project after she was seen on the set of Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends in Pasadena, Calif.

“Meghan was on the set today,” the insider exclusively tells PEOPLE, adding that Meghan has a small role in the project.

“She seemed very relaxed and happy,” the insider continued. “She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”

[From People]

Going from what I know about Lily Collins and Brie Larson, I bet both women were super-excited to see Meghan. Brie is very hippie/nature/granola, and I feel like Meghan definitely has that side to her too. Lily is a big deal over at Netflix (Emily in Paris) and so is Meghan, so they probably talked business. Anyway, it is cracking me up that Meghan was on a studio set in LA on the same day as Prince William’s Earthshot AND Harry was doing events in Toronto as well.

“Little boys don’t just fall from the sky… it’s as if he didn’t exist.” Time for an adventure! Neon has revealed their official trailer for a sci-fi animated adventure movie titled Arco, produced by Natalie Portman and directed by young French animation filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu (follow him @ugobienvenu) as his feature directorial debut after many comics. What if rainbows were actually time travelers flying across the sky? On his first flight through time, Arco crash lands from the year 3000 into our near future. His fall is witnessed by a little girl, Iris, who helps him return home. Set in 2075, a ten year old girl, Iris, meets Arco. He comes from an idyllic far future where time travel is possible. Iris shelters him and will do whatever it takes to help him return home. A wondrous odyssey filled with hope and optimism for our future, Arco is an enchanting fable from breakout filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu. The English-language voice cast for the US release features Will Ferrell, America Fererra, Flea, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg. It’s set for release in theaters this November. I had a chance to watch this film recently and yep I loved it. My kind of hard sci-fi storytelling mashed up with a lovely story about changing our future. Definitely worth a watch.

Here’s the official US trailer for Ugo Bienvenu’s animation film Arco, direct from Neon’s YouTube:

Jennifer Lawrence and Cole Escola’s Miss Piggy Movie: Cast, Release, and Latest News

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, Why has there never been a Miss Piggy movie before, have we got news for you. Jennifer Lawrence told Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers on the Las Culturistas podcast that she and Emma Stone are producing a Miss Piggy movie, to be written by Tony winner Cole Escola of Oh, Mary! fame.

“I don’t know if I can announce this but I am just going to…Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it,” Lawrence said. Obviously, this is deeply important news for women, Hollywood, Muppets, and the LGBTQ+ community, for whom Miss Piggy is a beloved icon.

Without further ado, here is everything we know.

What will the Miss Piggy movie be about?

We don’t know.

Who is in the cast?

Aside from the titular Muppet herself, it will possibly star Lawrence and Stone. When asked by Rogers and Yang if she and her coproducer would appear in the upcoming film, Lawrence replied, “I think so. We have to…it’s fucked up [that we haven’t done a movie together].”

When will the movie premiere?

We don’t know.

Is this going to be a children’s movie?

We don’t know.

Do we know anything?

Unfortunately, not really. Back in July, during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, Escola did mention a meeting with Disney (which owns the Muppets). Asked who would play Mary Todd Lincoln in a film adaptation of Oh, Mary!, Escola suggested that Miss Piggy would be a good choice, with all of the other actors played by humans. Then they added, “Actually cut this because I’m gonna be talking to Disney tomorrow.” At the time, it seemed Escola was just making a joke, but this news makes it seem as if they were perhaps more serious about that Disney meeting than they let on. And that’s about the extent of the knowledge we have at this time.

Luckily, the cat’s out of the bag now, which means we can probably count on more news in the very near future.

“Horror origami that skillfully folds into itself.” WTF is going in this creepy cabin?! Neon has revealed the third & final official trailer for the next freaky horror from director Osgood Perkins titled Keeper – his third movie in two years. Keeper is releasing soon in November just after the October horror season (here’s the other recent trailer). The eerie story follows a couple escaping out on a romantic weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm suddenly returns to the city, Liz finds herself alone in the presence of an evil revealing the cabin’s horrifying secrets. Starring Tatiana Maslany (also in The Monkey) and Rossif Sutherland, plus Tess Degenstein, Claire Friesen, Christin Park. This final trailer has even more reveals, but still makes it all a bit confusing and mysterious. What is this white face creature? What is happening and why? Is it supernatural? Or one deranged man? Find out in a few weeks… Perkins’ Keeper is finally in theaters soon.

Here’s the third & final trailer (+ posters) for Osgood Perkins’ horror film Keeper, from Neon’s YouTube:

Osgood Perkins’ new film Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Rossif Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Tatiana Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets. Keeper is directed by American genre filmmaker / writer / actor Oz Perkins (aka Osgood Perkins), director of the horror movies The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Gretel & Hansel, Longlegs, and The Monkey, plus one episode for the new “The Twilight Zone” series. The screenplay is written by Nick Lepard. Produced by Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath. Neon will debut Perkins’ Keeper horror film in select US theaters starting on November 14th, 2025 this fall. Does that look scary? Or not?
