Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally broken his silence on the swirling controversies surrounding the Pahalgam terror attack, the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his film Sardaar Ji 3, and the recent high-stakes cricket match between India and Pakistan. Speaking at his concert in Malaysia, Diljit vehemently pushed back against accusations, particularly from the media, that he was acting against national interests. Consequently, the social media accounts of several prominent Pakistani artists, including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Hania Aamir herself, were banned in India.
The atmosphere was further charged by the recent Asia Cup cricket match, which saw India secure a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan. This clash was the first meeting between the two nations since the Pahalgam attack, placing immense pressure on both sides. Despite the immense pressure and the online backlash for proceeding with the game, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian side maintained their dominance from the first ball, securing a decisive win.
By finally addressing these intertwined controversies, Diljit Dosanjh used his platform to assert his patriotism, criticise media sensationalism, and offer a personal philosophy on dealing with public adversity. His powerful concert speech served as a testament to his resilience and a clear rebuttal to those who questioned his loyalty.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett was once again on the receiving end of harsh words by Laura Loomer. The far-right political activist shared her controversial remarks while reacting to a video of the Texas congresswoman criticizing a House resolution honoring Charlie Kirk.
In the CNN clip, Crockett voiced she was admittedly “hurt” by knowing only two white House representatives voted against a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk. Loomer quoted the clip on X and wrote, “It hurts my heart that we have ghetto black b**ches who hate America serving in Congress.” The post immediately gained traction and garnered backlash and also support from fellow far-right conservatives.
Journalist Jemele Hill sarcastically reacted to Loomer’s words by writing, “I’m sure this was totally taken out of context,” to which the Trump ally doubled down with, “I meant every word, actually.” Hill warned her to keep the same energy IRL by replying, “Oh I know you did. Let’s see if you can keep that same energy if you see the Congresswoman in person.”
Crockett has been the subject of countless conservatives spewing racist remarks this year alone. Last month, Blaze TV host Sara Gonzales was escorted out of a town hall by security for yelling out, “Jasmine, the people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat! Do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?” Newsmax contributor Todd Starnes also previously claimed she is “cosplaying a gangsta,” attempting to undermine her upbringing.
In her initial sentiments on CNN’s State of the Union, Crockett was expressing her disappointment about a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk that was passed by the House.
“The rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color. It is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was, specifically to [people of color],” she expressed.

Before reminding social media why she’s been that girl, Joseline Hernandez opened up about her experience in motherhood. The Hollywood actor is father to eight-year-old twins – Alexander and Ella – with his wife Amal Clooney and he’s admitted he doesn’t use platforms like Instagram and Facebook but he’s concerned about what will happened to his kids when they eventually get their own accounts.
In an interview with fellow actor Julia Roberts for 72 Magazine, the former E.R. star explained: “I don’t know how to do it [use social media].
“I’m not on any of them, but only because I find that my life is so much simpler without doing it. But I worry about kids. I worry about my kids, obviously …
“The risks are so much bigger and the consequences follow you for so much longer. I’m worried about my kids; we keep them off the internet as much as we can.
“But, you know, some of their homework is done on a computer. And they do like to watch a good Snoopy movie and things like that. “
George went on to ask Julia about her own experiences of exposing her children to the internet and social media, adding: “I wonder what your version of it is. Did you limit their access to it or did you just talk it through?”
Julia – who is mom to twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 20, and son Henry, 18, with her husband Danny Moder – replied: “I think they were, for sure, some of the last kids in their peer groups to get phones and stuff like that.
“When they were younger, certainly, Danny and I would have been considered some of the stricter parents.
“Not like we’re laying down the law, but these are the rules and they don’t change. Here’s the boundary of your life and it does not shift.
“You know, you don’t ask me and get an answer and then go ask dad and get a different answer. That doesn’t happen. It will never happen …
“I think that is what creates the stability that then allows them to feel secure because you know there is this fixed world of love and safety that exists unconditionally.”
There’s a whole movement of Gen Z and Millennial hard-right conservative guys who all sort of blend together for me. Before this week, I would not have been able to pick Charlie Kirk out of a line-up. But now the image of Kirk getting shot in the neck at a Utah college campus is seared into my memory bank. Kirk, who was only 31 years old, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He was on some kind of platform or stage, doing a “Prove Me Wrong” Q&A session. The last question he was asked was “do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last ten years?” Kirk answered with a question, “counting or not counting gang violence?” Then he was shot in the neck.
Charlie Kirk has died at age 31 after being shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10, according to President Donald Trump.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” the president shared on Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.”
Kirk, a right-wing media personality who founded conservative advocacy group Turning Point USA, was manning his signature “Prove Me Wrong” table on the first stop of his American Comeback Tour in Orem, Utah, when shots were fired. Video posted from the event appeared to show Kirk being struck in the side of the head or neck as he spoke to the crowd from under a white pop-up tent.
After the shot rang out, the crowd dispersed in a panic, with onlookers shouting, “Run, run, run!”
There are multiple angles of the shooting from people in the crowd, and each angle is worse than the next. I don’t recommend watching any of the videos, but they’re all over social media. As many have pointed out, Kirk spent the past nine or ten years demonizing minorities, women and marginalized communities and he ended up getting killed by someone who I’m 99.999% sure is a white-male shooter. In the whitest state in America, on a campus which is overwhelmingly white.
In 2023, Kirk was asked about the second amendment, mass shootings and America’s gun problem. He said: “You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won’t have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It’s drivel. But I am, I, I — I think it’s worth it. I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal.”
I’m including an assortment of reactions from Democratic leaders. Republican leaders did not bother to offer any kind of similar sentiments when Minnesota’s Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman was assassinated in her home alongside her husband and their dog. That happened less than three months ago.
There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones.

Yesterday, Prince Harry visited the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham, where he spent time with many youths, all of whom were thrilled to meet him. There were at least a hundred people waiting outside CRS too, and Harry did a nice little walkabout. The photos are spectacular. I can’t help but think back to all of the times the left-behinds arrive to events with absolutely zero people behind the police barricades.
Harry also announced his $1.5 million donation to Children In Need, a charity doing great work in Britain. Let me tell you something… none of this has gone down well with royalists or the left-behind Windsors. The British press is mad about it too, because they’ve been trying to convince their readership that Harry is broke, that he can’t afford the mortgage on his Montecito home, that eventually he’ll come crawling back to the UK because he can’t afford to live without his father’s nonexistent largesse. They’re even crying about how “real royals” don’t donate their own money to charities. Weird flex but okay. By the way, Harry emphasized that his donation IS his own money, it’s not coming from the foundation side of Archewell.
The Duke of Sussex has announced a personal donation of £1.1 million to tackle youth violence in Nottingham, saying that knife crime was “one of the most urgent issues facing this country”.
Despite relocating to California more than five years ago, he gave a speech in Nottingham in which he said he would “continue to stand with you” and praised the city’s “banging” jerk chicken.
A spokesman for Prince Harry said that the money, donated to BBC Children in Need, had come from the duke’s own funds rather than Archewell, his media organisation.
A contribution of £300,000 from BBC Children in Need will be added to the donation to help young people impacted by violence. In a speech after touring the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in the St Ann’s area of the city, Harry said: “I’ll continue to stand with you. Nottingham has my respect — it always has — my commitment and a permanent place in my heart.”
His visit appears to have been well received by the public. When he arrived in a black Range Rover, a crowd of about 100 people, including a group of young children, had gathered to cheer his arrival. One well-wisher shouted: “Harry, you brought the sunshine with you.”
Among those waiting outside was Margaret Wilson, 66, who was wearing a purple T-shirt bearing the slogan: “Team Harry. Lifetime Member. Man. Myth. Legend”. She said: “I was a fan of his mother and I like what he’s doing. He’s doing a lot for charity and he’s not even on the payroll. He doesn’t have to do this; he’s choosing to do this.”
