Event Tech Live (ETL) is delighted to announce its continued partnership with long-standing production partners, First Sight Media (FSM). The new three-year deal cements a relationship that dates back to the very first ETL shows at London’s Old Truman Brewery, marking more than a decade of collaboration.

Watch Grizzly Bear reunite for first live show in six years

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Grizzly Bear reunited for their first live show in six years last night (October 13) – check out footage from the gig below.

The Brooklyn indie four-piece went on hiatus in 2019, two years after the release of their most recent album, ‘Painted Ruins’.

In November 2023, a couple of months after sharing that he opened up his own therapy practice, founder and co-lead vocalist Ed Droste suggested that the band could end their hiatus at some stage, and in May this year, the band announced their return with news of a US tour in the autumn.

Last night, the band kicked off the tour with their first of five homecoming shows at Brooklyn Steel, and the setlist took fans all the way through their career. Their 2013 single ‘Will Calls’ got its live debut, while ‘Alligator’, from their 2004 debut album ‘Horn Of Plenty’, was played for the first time since 2008.

Another live rarity, 2006’s ‘Little Brother’, was played for the first time since 2014. And the show also saw their first documented performance of ‘Deep Sea Diver’ (via Setlist.fm) – likely the first time it’s been played since 2005.

They played many of their most popular tracks, too, including ‘Two Weeks’, ‘Yet Again’, and ‘Mourning Sound’.

Grizzly Bear’s Brooklyn setlist was:

‘Southern Point’
‘Alligator’
‘Sleeping Ute’
‘Mourning Sound’
‘Yet Again’
‘Cut-Out’
‘Little Brother’
‘Ready, Able’
‘Fine For Now’
‘Foreground Play’
‘While You Wait For The Others’
‘Will Calls’
‘Two Weeks’
‘On A Neck, On A Spit’
‘Three Rings’
‘Sun In Your Eyes’
Encore:
‘Deep Sea Diver’
‘Sky Took Hold’

Speaking to Pitchfork last week, they said that they’ll be switching their setlists up every night, Co-lead vocalist Daniel Rossen saying: “We’re trying to balance the songs that we assume are the popular ones or algorithmically favourite songs, coupled with more obscure songs that we maybe wouldn’t have touched at the time.”

Tonight (October 14), Grizzly Bear are set to return to Brooklyn Steel, before another three shows there on October 16, 17 and 18. They’re then playing two shows in Chicago before heading to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland. You can find remaining tickets here.

From October 16, they’ll be joined by Beach House vocalist Victoria Legrand for a handful of songs each night. “Truly honored to have such a queen with us,” they said when announcing the news last week.

While on hiatus, Droste confirmed in 2020 that he’d left and was studying to become a therapist, though Rossen and drummer Chris Bear continued to work together in the meantime, including on the soundtrack to the 2023 movie Past Lives.

Rossen also released his debut solo album, ‘You Belong There’, in 2022, and supported it with a series of North American and European tour dates.

Jennifer Aniston hesitated to join Saturday Night Live

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

14 October 2025

Jennifer Aniston had a “self-righteous attitude” towards joining Saturday Night Live.

Jennifer Aniston could’ve joined the comedy show

The 56-year-old actress nearly joined the long-running sketch show before she was cast as Rachel Green in Friends, and Jennifer now admits that she was a little bit hesitant at the thought of joining the Saturday Night Live cast.

During an appearance on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, Jennifer shared: “I always thought I was such hot s***. The story of that is all very confusing.

“Honestly, today I’d have to ask Lorne, because I remember, I was in New York City, and I had a meeting with Lorne Michaels, and I ran into [Adam] Sandler and [David] Spade in the room right outside. And I knew Sandler forever.”

Jennifer was reluctant to join such a “male-dominated” show at the time. And ultimately, she was offered a starring role in Friends instead.

She explained: “I don’t know why I had this self-righteous attitude of ‘I don’t know if women are treated the way they should be treated on this show.’ It’s a very male-dominated [show,] I would love to be here if it was in the Gilda Radner day.

“I mean, this is the brain that semi-remembers things that are back that far. Something like that. I can’t remember, but I just remember Friends then happened.”

Jennifer previously revealed sow she reacted to the opportunity to join the hit comedy show.

The movie star told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021: “I was so young and dumb and I went into Lorne’s office and I was like, ‘I hear women are not respected on this show’. I don’t remember exactly what I said next, but it was something like, ‘I would prefer if it were like the days of Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin.’

“I mean, it was such a boys’ club back then, but who the f*** was I to be saying this to Lorne Michaels?! So yes, adorably that happened and I’ve hosted Saturday Night Live a couple of times, and I love it so much.”

Make-A-Wish’s 100% NPS Story Live at Event Tech Live 2025

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

This isn’t just a case study — it’s a story about the power of events to connect the right people, at the right time, to make extraordinary things happen.

It began with a simple conversation at Event Tech Live 2024.

One year later, that spark turned into one of the most ambitious and emotional events Make-A-Wish UK had ever delivered — and a partnership that achieved a 100% Net Promoter Score (NPS) from attending families for the first time in the charity’s history.

Together with CrowdComms, Make-A-Wish UK created the My Wish App — a mobile event app that didn’t just keep things running smoothly, but delivered moments of pure magic for hundreds of families.

Imagine it: a child’s face lighting up at a surprise experience, parents relaxed because their personalised schedule updated easily in real time when plans shifted, and families knowing every accessibility detail had been thought of in advance.

That’s what technology, when done right, can make possible.

At Event Tech Live 2025, Lauren from Make-A-Wish UK and Rory from CrowdComms, hosted by Matt Coyne, will take to the stage to share how empathy, innovation, and real-time event technology came together to make it happen.

Their main stage ETL25 session — “How Make-A-Wish Delivered a Personal Experience with CrowdComms” — will explore:

  • How a chance meeting at ETL became a transformative partnership
  • What true collaboration between charity and provider looks like
  • How flexibility, personalisation, and accessibility turned challenges into triumphs
  • Practical lessons any organiser can use to build tech partnerships that deliver real impact

“Accessibility was really important. We simplified the dashboard, made things easier to find and read, bigger buttons – it needed to feel really intuitive and kind. The app is absolutely vital. It helps us provide that level of service at scale. CrowdComms helped make that 100% happen,” said Lauren Johnson, Wish Granting Project Manager at Make-A-Wish UK.

“Working with Make-A-Wish is more than just delivering event tech. This wasn’t about sales or sessions — it was about moments that matter deeply to people,” said Matt Allen, CEO at CrowdComms. “We’re proud our platform helped families feel supported, connected, and cared for.”

Kate Cassidy ‘didn’t want to live’ after Liam Payne’s death

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

11 October 2025

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy “didn’t want to live” following his death.

Kate Cassidy fell into a deep depression after her boyfriend Liam Payne’s death last year

The former One Direction singer tragically died at the age of 31 in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina and the influencer has revealed that she fell into a deep depression in the aftermath.

Kate told Page Six at a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) benefit: “I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain, just not wanting to really live my life.”

She explained that it took her several weeks to realise that she needed to restore a sense of structure to her life again.

Cassidy said: “I finally realised, ok, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed.”

The 26-year-old influencer recalled how she started by setting an alarm to get out of bed one hour earlier each day and began “working out” and “eating clean” and continues to do so for the sake of her mental health.

She said: “I like to always be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active, always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.”

Kate paid a touching tribute to Liam ahead of the first anniversary of his passing next week as she described him as “the best person I ever met”.

The influencer said: “He lit up any room. He was just so sweet, so funny. I’ve never met anybody like him, and I’m sure I probably won’t ever meet anybody like him in my life.

“In a way, I am actually glad that he’s just going to be that one person. He was the best person I ever met.”

Meanwhile, Liam’s One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson described his death as “unjust and frustrating” earlier this week and confessed that the What Makes You Beautiful band’s upcoming 15th anniversary felt “uncomfortable” in the wake of the tragedy.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK magazine, Louis said: “It was really uncomfortable, actually, the 15th anniversary, because the [collective] feeling to celebrate is as important, if not more important than ever, on behalf of Liam.”

Louis – who was put together in 1D with Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik on The X Factor UK – admitted marking the band’s formation in the past made him feel “sick of nostalgia”, but doing so earlier this year “brought up those feelings” he’s been dealing with since his friend’s death.

He added: “You know, there’s still a level in my head [where it feels] unjust and frustrating that he’s not with us anymore.

“So, it just brought up those feelings, although I’m still living with them anyway.”
