Sabrina Carpenter Performs “Manchild” and “Nobody’s Son” on Saturday Night Live: Watch

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Sabrina Carpenter was the host and musical guest on last night’s (October 18) episode of Saturday Night Live, where she performed songs from her new album Man’s Best Friend. Dressed in SNL-themed underwear, Carpenter sang the single “Manchild” into a hairbrush; later, she donned a gi and did some karate for the album track “Nobody’s Son.” Carpenter also starred in sketches throughout the evening as a 12-year-old boy podcast host, a girlboss motivational speaker who suffers a head injury, and a singing washing machine.

In her opening monologue, Carpenter addressed the controversy around the Man’s Best Friend album cover. “What people don’t realize is that’s just how they cropped it,” she joked. “If you zoom out it’s clearly a picture from the [Saturday Night Live] 50th anniversary special of Bowen [Yang] helping me up by the hair after Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line, saying something like ‘Daddy need his mini quiche.’” Carpenter also touched on her brand as a “horndog popstar”—“I’m not just horny, I’m also turned on, and sexually charged”—did some sexually charged crowd work, and was nearly arrested by Keenan Thompson. Watch Carpenter’s full speech and performances, plus her SNL promo video with cast member Marcello Hernandez, below.

Last night marked Carpenter’s third appearance on Saturday Night Live—fourth if you count her cameo in this year’s Quinta Brunson-hosted episode. She first stopped by Studio 8H as musical guest on the heels of her 2024 album Short n’ Sweet, and was a part of SNL50: The Anniversary Special, where she performed a duet of the Simon & Garfunkel song “Homeward Bound” alongside Paul Simon. On Thursday, Carpenter will kick off a run of North American arena shows, with stops in Pittsburgh, New York, Nashville, Toronto, and Los Angeles.

Season 51 of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 4. The season debut was hosted by Bad Bunny, with Doja Cat serving as musical guest. After taking this week off, SNL’s next three episodes are set to feature Miles Teller and Brandi Carlile, Nikki Glaser and Sombr, and Glen Powell and Olivia Dean, respectively.

Live From the Gas Station With TisaKorean

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Initially, Tisa made music to fill that same niche, eventually borrowing little production touches from outside influences of his own, like the Neptunes and Tyler, the Creator. He didn’t think his music was anything out of the ordinary until it started gaining traction online. “I thought my shit would be lame to somebody not from Houston,” he recalls while clicking through his beats on the computer. “But people from other places would be like, ‘Yo’ shit crazy!’ And I’d be like, ‘Really? We all sound like this in Houston.’”

Now long removed from the gym, Tisa changes out of workout clothes and into baggy shorts and a T-shirt that reads A1 Junky, a reference to his recently formed crew, A1, whose job I think is mostly to mob out in dance videos and wear matching outfits—stuff of that ilk. Joining us is co-face of the clique Mighty Bay, who has been partying, dancing, and occasionally rapping with Tisa since they met through a cousin nearly a decade ago. Together, they joke and sometimes finish each other’s sentences and share stories of tearing up dancefloors like they’re in Saturday Night Fever. “Partying cost too much now to not turn up; if I pay 500 to get in, you gon’ have to choke me out to make me not have a good time!” exclaims Tisa. Mighty Bay smiling along goes, “Yeah, we partying fanatics.”

The three of us spend the afternoon rolling around the south side of Houston in Tisa’s snow white Benz. They point out the club where they dance, the liquor store where they dance, and, of course, a few of the gas stations where they dance. We stop at Tisa’s favorite snow cone spot where he gets his drowned in cream the color of melted American cheese. Mighty Bay gets a kick out of my disgust. On line, a few people from the neighborhood come by and dap them up. Next, we head over to a Chinese chicken wing counter where we chow down as they get on my ass about the choices on Pitchfork’s “Best Rap Albums of All Time” list. “You guys are just rage baiting,” goes Mighty Bay; Tisa nods.

In the car, we’re listening to and cracking jokes about music. Mighty Bay has tears in his eyes from laughing so hard at the funky drum machine beats of Keith LeBlanc’s Major Malfunction, coming around to it by the final track. They go nuts for some old Afrika Bambaataa instrumentals, especially Tisa who tells us he was heavily influenced by a chopped-and-screwed version of “Planet Rock.” Tisa then plays a few beats that have lately been inspiring him as a producer: the G-funk bounce of Westside Connection’s “Bow Down,” the soul of UGK’s “Choppin’ Blades,” and more Boosie. “We really influenced the most by what we grew up around,” goes Tisa, barely talking when the beats play to catch every detail.

Bowen Yang Present On Sabrina Carpenter-Hosted ‘SNL’ Despite Missing Live Taping

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Bowen Yang was still featured on Saturday Night Live on multiple occasions despite missing the live taping of the late-night sketch show.

Earlier today, Deadline reported that Yang was going to miss SNL tonight as he was set to receive the Vantage Award at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

Yang’s first mention on the Lorne Michaels-produced show was during Sabrina Carpenter‘s monologue.

The “Please Please Please” singer addressed the controversy surrounding her album cover, where she is seen kneeling in front of a man who is holding her by the hair. Carpenter joked that the man standing in front of her was actually Yang, showing him in a zoomed-out version of the album cover for Man’s Best Friend.

Yang’s bigger role on this week’s SNL was during a pre-taped sketch for the music video “Middle School Lovin’.” In the pop video, Yang and Carpenter play middle schoolers going to a school-sponsored dance where they “break the rules” and “grind” on each other.

“You know it girl, it’s finally time. I see you eyeing me at school. It’s been on both of our minds, and I’m feelin’ grown, twelve sprays of my dad’s cologne,” Yang sings in the pop video.

As the duo arrives at school, they sing, “We’re breaking the rules and I know that it’s wrong, but it’s feeling so right. We’re thirteen, but tonight is the night — we’re going to grind.”

Liverpool v Man Utd Premier League TV channel, live stream, kick-off time

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Familiar foes Liverpool and Manchester United do battle at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

A month or so ago, the hosts would’ve been heavy favourites but their wobble ahead of the international break – losing three times in a week – has given Man Utd hope.

Arne Slot has called for a reaction from his players ahead of Sunday’s derby clash and backed record signing Alexander Isak to make his mark.

Man Utd’s 2-0 win over Sunderland ahead of the international break has eased the pressure on Ruben Amorim and shown his system can work in the Premier League.

If they can follow that up with a result at Anfield against Liverpool, it could be the turning point that Amorim and the Red Devils need.

RadioTimes.com has rounded up everything you need to know about how to watch Liverpool v Man Utd on TV and online.

5 Albums I Can’t Live Without: Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Name  Anton Newcombe

Current City  I live in Berlin and have my studio [there].

Really want to be in  I’m one of those people that looks at property listings in Sweden and Norway on the ocean or lakes and thinks, “I could afford this…I don’t need people.”

Excited about  I’m excited to finish our tour; Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, then South America. Then I have a three month break before Australia and New Zealand. It is my hope that I bag a new album in my downtime.

My current music collection has a lot of  Scratched albums. But truthfully, I have eclectic tastes.

And a little bit of  That’s an interesting boomerang being that I have a giant collection that’s all over the map. I guess the little bit would be new releases.

Preferred format  I like vinyl, I wish the neighbors felt the same. I like the 20-minute-per-side format. It’s perfect.

5 Albums I Can’t Live Without:

1

Approach to Anima, Maya Ongaku

A friend invited me out to see them here in Berlin, they are from Japan and honestly renewed my faith in music in the way that live music can. Honestly a cross between Kraftwerk, Sigur Rós, Air and maybe a touch of spacey Pink Floyd; very analog, very real. Amazing group.

2

Inspiración, Ara Tokatlian, Enrique Villegas, Guillermo Bordarampé

If you are interested in far-out spiritual jazz like Coltrane and Sanders this record is for you; a most excellent selection from 1975.

3

Brigitte Fontaine Est Folle, Brigitte Fontaine

This is her debut solo album from 1968. I would highly recommend any collector slide down the rabbit hole of her many releases.

4

Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid: Original Soundtrack Recording, Bob Dylan

This is a soundtrack of a movie by the same name, the album includes “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” but it’s so much more than that. It’s a mood and it moves at its own pace.

5

Domingo, Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso

This Brazilian record is amazingly beautiful. My copy is from 1967 and for as much as I love it, I don’t know very much about the origins, only that it is a classic and that’s why I bought it in Brazil. Give it a spin, maybe you will enjoy it too.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Releases Promos for Sabrina Carpenter Episode

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Is “Sabrina and the City” the latest Sex and the City spinoff? Not quite. But it is the premise for Saturday Night Live’s first teaser for pop star Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming episode.

The Man’s Best Friend singer, who previously appeared on the show as a musical guest, is taking on double-duty this Saturday (Oct. 18) as SNL’s host and musical guest.

In a promotional video titled, “And Just Like That…Sabrina Carpenter Is Hosting SNL,” Carpenter turns into her own version of Carrie Bradshaw. “New York is one big apple, and I’m taking my bite at Saturday Night Live,” the singer says in a classic Sex and the City voiceover to kick off the video.

Carpenter encounters several SNL castmembers, ignoring their normal questions and answering in lines that sound like they’ve been pulled from the HBO show. “Thank God, it’s Mr. Big,” she yells at one point, referencing Carrie’s longtime Sex and the City love interest, before running over to Marcello Hernández. “Oh, hey, it’s actually Marcello but I’ll take it,” he answers.

Hernández and Carpenter are certainly not strangers. On top of doing the week’s second promotional video together, Hernández gained immense popularity for a character he played on the show named Domingo, who was featured in a wedding-themed parody skit set to Carpenter’s song “Espresso.” She even joined in for a follow-up sketch earlier this year, set to a song from Wicked, a nod to fellow pop star Ariana Grande, who was in the first sketch.

In the second video released ahead of the episode, Carpenter jokes that she might need to arrest someone for being too hot — a nod to her song “Juno,” where she picks an audience member to “arrest” for that reason. Carpenter even arrested Hernández, reprising his Domingo character, at an L.A. show last year. In the promo, Hernández holds his hands out, ready to be arrested, before Carpenter picks the show’s cameraman.

Carpenter follows Bad Bunny and SNL alum Amy Poehler as hosts of season 51. Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell were just announced as the show’s upcoming hosts; however, the full lineup of hosts and musical guests for this season hasn’t been revealed.

Fulham v Arsenal Premier League TV channel, live stream, kick-off time

by jummy84 October 18, 2025

Premier League leaders Arsenal head across London to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side capitalised on Liverpool’s wobble ahead of the international break and won back-to-back games to move top of the table.

The Gunners will look to pick up where they left off in their first Premier League game back but have found this weekend’s hosts a tricky proposition in recent years – winning just one of their last four meetings.

The break came at a good time for Fulham, who had lost consecutive games away at Bournemouth and Aston Villa, and they will relish the return to West London.

Marco Silva’s side are unbeaten at Craven Cottage this term and hope to have striker Raul Jimenez back fit in time for Saturday’s game.

RadioTimes.com has rounded up everything you need to know about how to watch Fulham v Arsenal on TV and online.

Beatport expands into ticketing, bridging the gap between recorded and live music

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Beatport, the world’s largest music store for DJs, producers, and fans, today announced the launch of Beatport Tickets, a new ticketing platform designed exclusively for the dance music community. Powered by a strategic partnership with Weeztix, Europe’s fastest-growing self-service digital ticketing company, this marks the next phase of Beatport’s evolution evolution, extending its platform from music discovery and streaming into live event access.

Launching in October 2025, Beatport Tickets will enable labels, promoters, and venues in the UK and EU to sell tickets directly through Beatportal, Beatport’s dedicated platform for dance music news and nightlife culture. In the coming months, the platform will expand its self-service solution to event organizers in the US and integrate event listings into the Beatport store. In 2026, upcoming events will also appear on artist and label profiles, with tickets directly linked to their Beatport pages.

The ticketing landscape has traditionally kept music discovery and live events separate, with large-scale events thriving while the economics for recorded music remain challenging. At the same time, independent promoters and grassroots venues often lack the tools to compete, whereas artists and labels struggle to turn online engagement into real-world connections. Organizers will be able to enhance event listings with custom playlists, transforming ticket pages into immersive previews of the sounds and scenes behind the show.

“Beatport has always been the home for DJs and fans to connect with the music that drives dance culture,” said Helen Sartory, Chief Revenue Officer at Beatport. “This year, we expanded into the live space, creating a dedicated Live & Interactive team who executed ambitious initiatives like The Block, giving emerging artists opportunities to perform at major festivals. With Beatport Tickets, we’re taking the next big step, bridging the gap between digital and live experiences, supporting promoters, helping artists expand their reach, and giving fans a richer way to engage with dance music. Because without live music, there is no dance scene.”

Powered by Weeztix: Beatport Tickets is built on Weeztix’s proven ticketing technology, which forms the foundation of this new offering. These include the following, with the first three available exclusively through the Beatport–Weeztix partnership:
● Integrated Music + Ticketing: Easily create event pages on Beatportal, linking tracks and playlists directly for promotion and ticket sales, driving deeper fan engagement.
● Upcoming Events on Artist + Label Profiles (coming soon): Tickets will be directly linked to Beatport artist and label pages.
● Expanded Reach: Events featured across Beatport’s store, mobile app, and Beatportal, reaching 40M+ annual users.
● Flexible Sales Tools: Standard tickets, accommodation, tokens, and merchandise.
● Advanced Analytics: Data-driven insights for promoters and labels.
● API Connectivity: Events can connect to third-party apps and services.
● 24/7 Customer Service: Provided by Weeztix to ensure smooth operations for promoters and fans alike.

With this launch, Beatport strengthens its role as a 360 platform for dance music culture, supporting the entire journey from discovery to live experience.

Forestry England has launched ticket sales for this year’s Forest Live concert series, once again powered by Nuweb Group, its official ticketing technology partner.

Forest Live is a long-running outdoor music event that brings major artists to woodland venues across England.

Northern Irish rock band Snow Patrol will return to the Forest Live stage, joining UB40 as the first confirmed headliners for 2026.

The proceeds from the events directly support conservation, reforestation, and wildlife projects.

“By attending a concert, you are also investing in the future of these incredible spaces, as the funds raised go towards preserving the nation’s forests for generations to come,” said Rhodri Jones, Forestry England’s National Events Programme Manager.

Tickets for Forest Live 2026 are available through the dedicated platform at tickets.forestryengland.uk, powered by Nuweb Group.

Since 2024, Forestry England has partnered with Nuweb Group to manage ticketing across its national programme.

Forestry England and Nuweb Group continue to deliver one of the UK’s most sustainable event experiences – where every ticket sold helps keep the nation’s forests growing.
