Stevie Nicks Reveals Pre-Fame Letter She Wrote Predicting Her Legacy

Following the reissue of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks‘ 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks, last week, Nicks shared some insight into her delightful notions while recording the LP more than five decades ago.

Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, Nicks posted images of the penned letter alongside the caption, “I wanted to share this letter I wrote to my family while Lindsey and I were making Buckingham Nicks. My mom saved it and it’s been in a drawer for over 50 years.”

Addressed to her mother, father, and brother Chris, Nicks writes to them from the “famous” Sound City Recording Studio in Los Angeles. “I am getting very tired of sitting around listening to 12 hours of music per day,” she begins. “I know it will pay off in the end, and when I am sitting in my small but luxurious Beverly Hills home overlooking my small but tasteful pool that is totally secluded, where I can sun in the nude and tan my entire fat body while waiting for my plastic surgery leg lift – it will all be worth it.”

After assuring everything is “peach-y,” she playfully teases that she’s sure “dad is already beautifully tan and lythe – making those gorgeous blue grey eyes even more sparkling than they usually are,” adding, “sickening that he looks better than I do at 47(?) and I’m only 25. (Give me a break, Dad!).” Nicks segues to her upcoming 25th birthday, declaring that the family “should set aside the entire month of May to celebrate the fact that I am now 1 quarter of a century old,” calling it a “landmark” that warrants a “gala celebration.”

After leaving the party planning to her parents and brother, she quips, “presents will be accepted any time after the first of May – no C.O.D’s please.”

Bringing it back to the music, Nicks tells them, “I certainly do miss you all, and wish you could be here to hear some of this stuff.” Addressing her father and Chris, she notes, that the “rock and roll tune” they both liked — “(‘Baby Baby, don’t treat me so bad’) with the fancy guitar work” — is “almost finished” and declares Buckingham “may go down in history as one of ‘greats’ in guitar playing.”

Trending Stories

After predicting her and Buckingham’s future greatness, Nicks concludes “It really is quite amazing,” before telling her family “so much love to you all – and hold good thoughts about this thing.”

While the initial release of Buckingham Nicks wasn’t a commercial success, it would eventually lead to Mick Fleetwood asking the couple to join his band. Coincidentally, the reissue arrived after Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled 1975 album turned 50 in July.

Sridevi’s Legacy Lives On! Janhvi Kapoor Wows In Her Mom’s Royal Blue Saree At ‘Homebound’ Premiere | Glamsham.com

Janhvi Kapoor walked away with the spotlight at the launch of Homebound, India’s official Oscar entry for 2026, not just due to her good looks, but due to the overwhelming emotional depth of her outfit. The young actress chose to wear a beautiful saree that had belonged to her late mother, the incomparable Sridevi, as a moving tribute to the timeless icon.

The gold-thread embroidered navy blue and black saree belonged to Sridevi and made a legendary show along with her at the 2017 Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma wedding reception. Janhvi taking out the saree for the special occasion impressed fans and onlookers alike, with many hailing her for taking after her mother in elegance and doing so with grace and poise.

Dressed up in a modern yet timeless vibe, Janhvi accessorized the saree with a black velvet blouse and finished the look with elegant jewellery — a pearl-and-stone choker necklace, timeless jhumkas, and a matching bracelet-ring combination. Her sleek, center-parted bun accentuated the regal neckline and let the jewellery and embroidery take centrestage without overpowering the look. The soft gold undertones of her accessories complemented the saree’s heavy borders to perfection, achieving an earthy and balanced look.

Janhvi has often honoured Sridevi’s legacy through fashion, choosing her mother’s iconic outfits for key moments. Whether on red carpets or public appearances, she consistently celebrates Sridevi’s enduring style and memory.

Interestingly, her sister Khushi Kapoor has followed a similar path. At a past award show, Khushi wore a gown that Sridevi had donned on the red carpet over a decade ago, turning heads while paying a touching tribute of her own.

Janhvi’s appearance at Homebound wasn’t just a fashion statement — it was a powerful reminder of love, legacy, and the timeless bond between a mother and daughter.

A major new music festival has been announced for Roundhay Park in Leeds by AEG Presents.

American Express presents Roundhay Festival will debut in summer 2026, becoming a central fixture of the north of England’s cultural calendar.

Roundhay Park is steeped in music history, having hosted legendary performances from the likes of Madonna, the Rolling Stones and, more recently, Ed Sheeran.

Next year it will host live music from some of the world’s biggest stars, as well as a midweek programme of free activities. The first headliner, Lewis Capaldi, was announced this morning.

Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, Roundhay Festival will deliver substantial benefits to the local area, including increased economic activity. Following the success of AEG’s other festivals, Roundhay will engage local suppliers, employ local staff, and boost spending on accommodation, food and entertainment. The festival’s midweek programme of free-to-access activities for all ages will also offer high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities, providing a platform for local talent and encouraging continuous use of the park during the summer.

Roundhay Festival is committed to a sustainable future for live music. From powering the festival responsibly to managing waste and partnering with local food vendors, sustainability will underpin every decision. The festival will continually refine its policies to minimise environmental impact while maximising benefits for the local community.

Big Green Coach will be the official travel partner, providing environmentally conscious return travel straight to the beautiful Roundhay Park. Big Green Coach balances carbon emissions through verified ecosystem restoration and protection projects and has been leading the way in sustainable group transport for over 16 years.

As part of this year’s Leeds festival, a partnership with Roundhay School will offer students the chance to get involved in the live music industry and event management. It will provide vital skills and insight into opportunities in the creative industries.

Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s largest city parks, spans over 700 acres of lakes, woodlands, formal gardens, playgrounds and the Tropical World visitor attraction. Legendary acts that have performed at the park include The Rolling Stones (1982), Genesis (1987), Madonna (1987), Michael Jackson (1988), U2 (1997) and Ed Sheeran (2019). With the first headliner for 2026 to be announced soon, Roundhay Festival will showcase unforgettable performances in Leeds next summer.

Renowned for its high-quality fan experience, BST Hyde Park has offered once-in-a-lifetime concerts since 2013. American Express ® Cardmembers will have exclusive presale access to all of the shows and will have a range of benefits available on site at the festival.Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, said: “Everyone at AEG is thrilled to announce the launch of the Roundhay Festival in Leeds. This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans, while building on the park’s incredible musical legacy.

“Roundhay Park already holds an extraordinary place in music history, having hosted concerts from some of the biggest artists of all time and we cannot wait to add to that story.

“As with all our events, we are committed to delivering the very best in every aspect, from welcoming some of the greatest artists in the world, to creating an unforgettable fan experience, and upholding industry-leading sustainability standards.

“We are determined to bring value to the park, the city, and the wider region. By working closely with local people and businesses, we aim to create a festival that everyone in Leeds can be proud of.”

Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we are working with AEG to bring some of the biggest names in music to Roundhay Park once again.

“The park is a fabulous setting for concerts, as legendary artists like Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stones will know from their own fondly-remembered appearances there.

“It’s also a much-loved part of the fabric of life in Leeds, so it’s fitting that this event will be doing as much as possible to support local vendors, suppliers and staff. AEG’s commitment to the highest standards of sustainability is another very welcome plus point for us.

“Roundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy. I’m sure music fans, not just in Leeds but across the region and beyond, will agree with me when I say ‘roll on next summer’.”

Shiz Suzuki, Vice President of Global Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing at American Express said: “We are thrilled to be headline sponsor of American Express presents Roundhay Festival, in the incredible city of Leeds. Alongside other Amex sponsored music events such as BST Hyde Park and All Points East, there’s no doubt this brand-new festival will be another defining moment in our Card Members’ summer calendars.”

Charlie Kirk: A Controversial Voice Whose Legacy Leaves a Mark

Charlie Kirk: A Controversial Voice Whose Legacy Leaves a Mark

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was more than just a political activist.

He was a figure who shaped conversations, sparked debates, and built a following that stretched across college campuses and social media platforms. His sudden death following the tragic shooting in Utah has left a ripple of shock not only in political circles but also among young Americans who grew up seeing his name trend almost daily.

Born in 1993 in the suburbs of Chicago, Kirk rose from obscurity to national attention in less than a decade. In 2012, at just 18 years old, he founded Turning Point USA, an organization dedicated to mobilizing young conservatives. What started as a small project quickly grew into a powerhouse with thousands of campus chapters across the country. To his supporters, Kirk was a fearless advocate for free markets, limited government, and traditional values. To his critics, he was a polarizing voice who thrived on culture-war clashes and headline-grabbing soundbites.

Kirk’s ability to tap into the energy of Gen Z and millennials was undeniable. He mastered the art of podcasting, live events, and social media clips that traveled faster than news broadcasts. His Turning Point conferences drew big names, from senators to former presidents, and gave thousands of students access to the type of political networking that usually lives behind closed doors.

But what stood out about Charlie Kirk was not just his career but also the personal side that those close to him highlighted after his passing. Friends and colleagues describe him as deeply committed to his faith and family. Married to former Miss Arizona USA Erika Frantzve, Kirk became a father of two young children in recent years, a role he often said was his most important legacy. In interviews, he admitted that while politics was his passion, his greatest joy came from raising a family and building a future outside the spotlight.

The tragic circumstances of his death have triggered a nationwide conversation about political violence and its dangerous rise. Leaders across the political spectrum have condemned the attack, emphasizing that disagreements should never spill over into such acts. Candlelight vigils and memorials have taken place in Arizona, Utah, and beyond, where supporters remember not just a controversial political figure but a man who dared to step onto the stage young, untested, and unapologetic.

Charlie Kirk’s story is ultimately one of ambition, risk, and the power of ideas in the digital age. Whether you agreed or disagreed with his views, it is impossible to deny his influence. He built an organization from scratch, gave young conservatives a platform, and became a household name before his 30th birthday. His loss leaves an empty space in American political life, one that will fuel debates, inspire tributes, and remind many of both the promise and peril of being a public figure in today’s divided world.

Ralph Lauren and the Enduring Legacy of Oak Bluffs

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

“The Vineyard is such a sacred place,” shares Àwet Woldegebriel, the founder of his eponymous New York fashion label. Like the many creatives who call the island home, Woldegebriel has been returning each summer for nearly a decade, rarely spending more than a few months away. For many of its residents, that pull is similarly visceral. In his memoir I Regret Almost Everything, celebrated restaurateur Keith McNally describes his first impression of Martha’s Vineyard while awaiting the ferry from mainland Massachusetts: “Watching the Nantucket passengers saunter ashore,” he writes in the book, “I was put off by how white and preppy they all looked and much preferred the look of passengers coming off the second boat: a mixed bag of farmers, dropouts and long-haired academics…. I quickly switched tickets.”

Set just 28 miles across the Nantucket sound from its neighboring island, the Vineyard has remained the antithesis of the wealth, pedigree, and exclusivity that have come to define Nantucket—and its residents are keen on keeping it that way. The island’s working-class roots aren’t the only thing that sets it apart, though. Perhaps more than any other resort destination along the East Coast, Martha’s Vineyard has a rich and layered legacy that’s uniquely steeped in Black history.

“It’s not just beautiful beaches and postcard views,” says Woldegebriel, “it’s a place steeped in Black history, creativity, and resilience. That legacy, coupled with a deep sense of community, is what keeps me coming back. It’s one of the few places where you can feel both completely at ease and deeply connected to a greater story.” The island at large may be known for the picturesque white picket fences and vivid hydrangeas of Edgartown and the A-list enclave where the Obamas spent several summers over in Chilmark, but it’s the town of Oak Bluffs on the northeast shore that, as Woldegebriel puts it, “has always been a heartbeat for Black joy, culture, and gathering.”

Today, Oak Bluffs is a beloved retreat for family vacations and community gatherings, but its roots as a haven for Black travelers dates back to the Civil War era when the island was a part of the underground railroad system. During the height of Jim Crow laws, Oak Bluffs institutions like the Dragonfly House, a former inn that now serves as a community center, were deemed safe havens for Black travelers in the Green Book. As such, many prominent figures have sought out its shores—from the poet Langston Hughes to Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade.

This summer, Ralph Lauren is casting a renewed spotlight on the coastal destination with the launch of a limited-edition collection and campaign telling the story of Oak Bluffs. “This collection is about more than a charming coastal town; it’s a story of the American dream,” according to Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Ralph Lauren Corporation. “Oak Bluffs’ unique history, traditions and sense of community deeply inspire me and speak to what we are all searching for – a place where you can be free, uncontrived, joyful and truly at home.” The Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs collection captures the East Coast energy of the island, with an offering that spans its iconic baseball hats, classic striped knits, and vacation-ready sundresses that speak to wardrobes of its longtime residents and vacationers alike.

Woldegebriel agrees: “There’s been a renewed energy in recent years.” Citing more attention from national media, more investment in preserving its legacy, and more storytelling around its history, he insists that the charm of the island remains, but that there’s a growing awareness of its cultural significance that’s putting Oak Bluffs, and Martha’s Vineyard at large, and on a larger platform. As for what’s driving it, Woldegebriel says it all comes down to an increase in conversations around diversity and heritage. “Oak Bluffs offers an authentic narrative that can’t be manufactured: a living, breathing community with generational ties to Black excellence, style, and leisure.”

As for where to head once you’ve reached its shores, Woldegebriel shares that his favorite spots include The Dragonfly House, a spot where he’s hosted the annual Summer Bazaar for his label. Wandering Circuit Avenue for its mix of old-school charm and local businesses, and grabbing a seat on the Inkwell Beach seawall at sunrise or sunset are also must-see spots on his itinerary.
