Ahan Shetty’s Next: Unlike Anything He’s Done Before! Joins Khyati Madaan’s Horror Film Inspired By A National Tradegy | Glamsham.com

Actor Ahan Shetty has officially unveiled his next project, one that promises to take his career into unexplored territory. The young star, best known for his romantic action debut, announced via Twitter (X) and Instagram that he is stepping into horror for the first time with a film based on a real-life national tragedy. Calling it “a new journey unlike anything I’ve done before,” Ahan expressed excitement about the challenging project and gratitude toward his collaborators.

Creative Vision and Production Team

The film is penned by Patrick Graham, widely recognized for bringing international-style horror to Indian screens with projects like Ghoul and Betaal under Blumhouse’s Indian slate. Backing the venture are producers Khyati Madaan of Not Out Entertainment and Prashant Gunjalkar, both keen on expanding their company’s theatrical offerings. In his announcement, Ahan wrote: “India’s first horror film inspired by a national tragedy. Grateful to Patrick Graham for his vision, and to our producers… for making this possible.”

Part of a Bigger Slate

The untitled film will go on floors in early 2026 and is part of Not Out Entertainment’s growing lineup. Alongside this project, the banner is also developing the romantic horror-comedy Abhootpurva and a slice-of-life drama directed by National Award-winner Habib Faisal. These projects reflect the company’s commitment to balancing commercial appeal with experimental narratives.

What’s Next

While details of the female lead and official title remain under wraps, anticipation is already building. Industry watchers are keen to see how Ahan adapts to the horror genre and how Graham will merge supernatural storytelling with the emotional weight of a real-life tragedy. For Ahan, the film marks not just a genre shift but also a statement of intent—an attempt to carve his own niche in Bollywood.

Nishaanchi trailer out: Aaishvary Thackeray shines in double role in Anurag Kashyap’s quintessential masala film. Watch | Bollywood

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

The makers of Nishaanchi have dropped the trailer, and it looks like a full-blown Bollywood masala. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film blends action, comedy, romance, betrayal, and good old-fashioned ‘maa ka pyaar’ into its cinematic experience and marks the Bollywood debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, grandson of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackrey.

Set in early 2000s Uttar Pradesh, Nishaanchi blends action, comedy, and romance, with a nostalgic soundtrack. The film releases on September 19.

What’s in the trailer

Front and centre is Aaishvary, making his debut in a double role as twin brothers Babloo and Dabloo, who are mirror images in looks but worlds apart in their values. Set in the gritty gullies of small-town Uttar Pradesh in the early 2000s, Nishaanchi follows their tangled lives as they collide in a storm of rebellion, family drama, and personal transformation.

The trailer gives you an adrenaline rush with high-speed chases, charged confrontations, and tender moments of love and longing. With its interesting soundtrack, it throws back to the nostalgia of early 2000s cinema. Anurag calls it his most cinematic film. “Nishaanchi is my most cinematic film with a classic story at its centre… emotion, betrayal, action — everything I grew up loving in Hindi films,” he said.

“Playing twins who are complete opposites challenged me in every way—emotionally, physically, and as an actor. At the same time, contributing to the music of the film was just as special. For me, acting and music are like Babloo and Dabloo—two distinct parts of my personality that balance and complete each other. I’m nervous, but also excited, to finally share this world with everyone. With Anurag sir guiding me through the journey, I discovered something new in every scene, every note,” said Aaishvary.

About Nishaanchi

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios India and produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh (Jar Pictures and Flip Films), the film also stars Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles. Anurag, Prasoon Mishra, and Ranjan Chandel co-wrote the story, and it’s set to hit theatres on September 19.

Jordan Peele’s post-‘Nope’ horror film removed from Universal’s 2026 schedule

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Jordan Peele‘s highly anticipated next project has been removed from Universal Pictures’ 2026 release schedule.

  • READ MORE: ‘Nope’ review: say yes to Jordan Peele’s genre-hopping comedy-horror

The currently untitled horror film – which will serve as the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2022’s Nope, and will mark the filmmaker’s return to directing after four years – was most recently slated for a release sometime around Halloween next year.

Now, however, it has been reported via Variety that Universal Pictures has removed it from its 2026 release schedule, and has yet to set a new date for the film. The film was first meant to premiere around Christmas last year, but was put on pause in 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood.

The film was then pushed to October 23, 2026, but has been removed from Universal’s roster. According to Variety‘s sources, Peele is still working on the project, and has yet to begin the filming process.

Details surrounding the film, including its cast and premise, have yet to be made public, though Peele opened up about the project at the start of last year, calling it his “favourite” of all his works so far.

After a successful career in comedy, Peele made his directorial debut with 2017’s Get Out, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and numerous other nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Peel then produced  BlacKkKlansman in 2017, before returning to directing and writing for the acclaimed horror movies Us (2019) and Nope (2022), reuniting with Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya for the latter. He also co-wrote the 2021 sequel to 1992’s Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta.

He has since produced two films – Monkey Man and HIM – via his Monkeypaw production company, and is rumoured to have fired his management team after they were unable to secure producer rights for the acclaimed horror film Weapons.

Peele’s last directed film, 2022’s Nope, scored a four-star review from NME: “From the movie’s unpredictability, patterns and motifs emerge; something as simple as the one-word title becomes part mantra, part running joke, part time-keeping metronome. It turns out that Peele’s background as a sketch comedian doesn’t just make him aware of certain genre tropes, or able to inject humour into tense situations (though both of those things are true). At times, he seems to imply that comedy and horror are both ways of processing the perverse mysteries of the world—and looking at things we shouldn’t be looking at. This also makes Nope a film that rewards repeat watching.”

Dwayne Johnson Gets Emotional During 15-minute Standing Ovation at Venice Film Festival

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently experienced an emotional moment at Venice Film Festival, when his movie The Smashing Machine received a 15-minute standing ovation. The actor, who portrays UFC legend Mark Kerr in the movie, suddenly became overwhelmed with emotions and broke down in front of the crowd. The clips and glimpses from the theatre show Dwayne wiping away his tears and the crowd offers thunderous applause.

The actor attended the screening with his co-star Emily Blunt, director Benny Safdie and Mark Kerr himself. Many have compared the moment with the standing ovation Brendan Fraser received for The Whale, four years ago. Fraser later went on to win an Academy Award for the movie.

In one of his social media posts from Venice, Johnson acknowledged the greatness of the film festival. He noted, “Act like you’ve been there. Trying to stay cool and absorb every second of every moment. #venice.”

The movie is slated to release in the theatres on October 3, 2025. The reactions in Venice confirm that Dwayne Johnson is on his way to give a career-defining performance. Fans on social media have been discussing about his dedication to the project. Interestingly, Johnson also went through a dramatic physical transformation to channel Kerr. He stepped away from his usual action avatar and embraced a leaner frame.

At a press conference, he opened up about working on The Smashing Machine. Dwayne noted that he wanted to explore more of acting after receiving the opportunity to star in the movie. “I looked around a few years ago and I started to think, you know, am I living my dream or am I living other people’s dreams? I’ve been scared to go deep and intense and raw until now, until I had this opportunity,” he added.

Kaia Gerber Hard-Launches Fall Polka Dots at the Venice Film Festival

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Yes, yes, Kaia Gerber is dating Lewis Pullman—but can we talk about what she wore before all that PDA at the Venice Film Festival?

On August 31, the 23-year-old model-turned-actor was seen with her previously rumored boyfriend ahead of the premiere of her upcoming film, The Testament Of Ann Lee. And just like Amal Clooney a few days before her, she proved your favorite summer trends aren’t going anywhere this fall with a bit of thoughtful styling.

Obviously, we have to start with polka dots, a massive summer trend Gerber embraced much earlier this summer with a flouncy red and white halter dress, which brings us right to our second trend. In Venice, Gerber combined the popular silhouette and pattern yet again, opting for a plunging butter yellow top by With Jéan that ties together at the back to create a nearly backless appearance.

Of course, the color of the top checks off our third summer trend on the list, though it’s been dominating runways and catwalks since the top of 2024. While the color is airy enough to feel like summer—especially when paired with a dainty chiffon skirt like on the With Jéan website—the muted tone looks soft and luxe as a fall-winter knit.

So how did Kaia Gerber make this otherwise summery top feel like a fall look? By matching the yellow halter tops’ black polka dots to a knee-length black skirt, giving the piece a more refined touch that’s not quite office appropriate, but is definitely a winning weekend look during the awkward transition from summer to fall. Now, imagine a similar top with the capri trousers fashion editors and trendsetters can’t stop raving about. Do you see the vision?

Cider Halter Neck Polka Dot Pleated Crop Top

Kaia Gerber often gravitates towards ’50s aesthetics with a flirty twist, as proven by the tea-length Givenchy gown with a sheer lace bodice. Pairing the vintage-inspired dress with kitten heels and chic black sunglasses, Gerber looked every bit an Old Hollywood starlet as she arrived at her red carpet premiere hand-in-hand with 32-year-old Top Gun star Lewis Pullman.

Later that night, the pair continued their romantic Italian getaway, with Gerber switching into a black halter mididress with a plunging neckline and backless design. Clearly, she’s not looking to let go of these summer trends—or her summer romance–any time soon, nor should she have to.

Munna Bhai is the role of a lifetime, and no one could have done it better than Sanjay Dutt. However, as people know, he was not the first choice for Munna Bhai. Shah Rukh Khan was director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s first choice for the role. However, things did not work out, which led to Sanju Baba’s life-changing role.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra once recalled that he would have never made the film with Sanjay Dutt but just wanted to support him because he went to jail. The 12th Fail director also revealed that Sanjay Dutt was ready to do anything to make a comeback in the films. Here’s what happened!

What Did Vidhu Vinod Chopra Say About Casting Sanjay Dutt In Munna Bhai M.B.B.S?

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra once spoke about the circumstances surrounding Sanjay Dutt’s casting in the role of his life, Munna Bhai. Chopra explained that the entire industry banned the actor at the time after being convicted in a terrorism case, but Vidhu did not believe this was the right thing to do. He said he had signed up for a project to show solidarity with the troubled star. Dutt was initially supposed to play the role, but it eventually went to Jimmy Shergill.

Chopra admitted that he did not want Sanjay Dutt in the film, so when the actor was released from jail and ready to work, he told him they would have to wait until they worked together. “Sanjay Dutt went to jail. I didn’t know him at all. The whole industry banned him, but I thought this was wrong, so I went to his house and made a film with him. His father said I’d be banned as well, but I said, ‘I don’t care,’” Chopra said during an interview with Kellogg Management School (per Times Of India).

Vidhu Vinod Chopra reflected that Dutt was willing to do anything and wanted to work. “Then, Sanjay Dutt comes out of jail. I remember him calling me from the car. He said he wanted to meet, and he wanted his first comeback film to be with me. I told him, ‘I’ll never make a film with you; I just announced it because it was the right thing to do.’ He’s a straightforward man. A good man but a simple man. He thought the announcement meant that we were going to work together. I said, ‘I cannot make a film with you unless the equation changes because I cannot exploit a good deed.’ It’s a terrible thing to do that you do something good and exploit it.”

Sanjay Dutt, too, struggled to grasp the film’s concept. Chopra admitted. “So when I told him to play Jimmy Shergill’s role, he agreed. He stated, ‘Anything’. Then, Shah Rukh, of course, came to me and he had a throat thing… So, I decided that Sanjay Dutt was the right guy. I told him, ‘You’re doing Munna Bhai’. And he’s such a simple fellow, he said, ‘I know’. I said, ‘No, not that role, main Munna Bhai.’ He said, ‘Okay if you say so, I’ll do it’. He never reads a script…”

But the fascinating part is that this would lead to a collaboration that would become a dream team. Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Sanjay Dut, who then worked on Lage Raho Munna Bhai and even in PK, eventually made a biopic about Sanjay’s life.

What Was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Most Recent Project?

Chopra’s last project was the award-winning 12th Fail, where he served as the writer, director and producer. He then produced Zero Se Restart in 2024, which is a documentary about the making of 12th Fail.

What Next For Sanjay Dutt?

After his recent appearance in The Bhootnii and Housefull 5, Dutt has a major lineup in his cards. He is set to appear in Baaghi 4 and KD: The Devil next followed by Dhurandhar and The Raja Saab. The actor is also reported to star in Akhanda 2, Sheram Di Kaum Punjab and Baap.

This just premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival – hence why this trailer is out now. A doc on running! A former competitive runner turned photographer goes on a journey to document the world’s toughest ultra marathons, confronting her complex past & reclaiming her love of racing, as she captures the triumphs & struggles of some of the world’s best endurance runners. “On its face, it might be hard to understand why someone would push themselves to run grueling 100-mile trail races, through the night and up and down thousands of feet of mountain trails. Throughout the journey of documenting these elite athletes in competition, watching their failures & triumphs… seeing the community they’ve built by the process of pushing the unknown, Aisha starts to reclaim not only her love of the sport but also her belief in her own ability to confront her idea of impossible within her interpretation of the sport.” See below.

Tony Leung on His First European Film ‘Silent Friend’

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Tony Leung Chiu-wai’s first European film ever, “Silent Friend,” is about to premiere in Venice. But he already wants to reunite with director Ildikó Enyedi.

“I would like to work with Ildikó again, if we get a chance,” he tells Variety. Two years ago, he picked up the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at the Italian fest.

“When I was still in Hong Kong before the shoot, I asked her: ‘What do I need to do to prepare for this character?’ She said: ‘You just need to be there.’ This was my first time doing anything like this. So I went there, and went with the flow,” he laughs.

In 2021, Tony Leung Chiu-wai made his long-awaited English-language debut in Marvel Studio’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” alongside Simu Liu, with fans calling out for his return as Wenwu. But following delays, its sequel is still in development.

“I don’t know what my next step will be and I never plan anything in my career — again, I go with the flow,” he says. While “Silent Friend” marks another big step for the star, he’s not actively seeking out international projects.

“It’s not like I suddenly want to work with all these different teams in every other country. It’s all about instinct. The first time I talked to Ildikó, online, I just knew I wanted to work with her and that’s why I said yes. Instinct.”

He adds: “After ‘Silent Friend,’ I haven’t done anything else and it has almost been a year. I never plan, because when you do, the outcome is always different from what you expect. So why bother?”

In the century-spanning film, he plays a neuroscientist stuck in a university town in Germany during the pandemic. All alone, save for an imposing ginkgo tree and a suspicious security guard he can’t even communicate with, he starts a new experiment encouraged by a fellow enthusiast (Léa Seydoux).

“When I got the script, Ildikó left me a note that said: ‘It’s a sci-fi with a sense of humor.’ She told me she watched some videos of me being interviewed and just saw something inside me. That’s why she created this character for me.”

“I think he’s a very lonely guy. But the film proves that even if we don’t speak the same language, as long as you feel others with your heart, you’ll understand them. I love playing this kind of role without much dialogue. It’s much more challenging.”

But it wasn’t the story itself that made him want to work with Enyedi, also behind Oscar-nominated “On Body and Soul.”

“I was only interested in Ildikó. When she approached me, she showed me her films and I just went: ‘Wow, this is wonderful.’ I really love this person – not just her work. I felt I could trust her,” he recalls.

“We didn’t just talk about the script. It wasn’t the usual actor-director exchange. She’s a friend, a very good friend and a teacher. She sent me some books and one of them was by Alan Watts [known for popularizing Eastern philosophy and religion]. I told Ildikó I was a Buddhist, that I study philosophy. I said: ‘We clearly have something in common’.”

Leung Chiu-wai is known for Oscar-nominated “Hero,” Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution,” “Internal Affairs,” later remade by Martin Scorsese, and his collabs with Wong Kar-wai – “In the Mood for Love” brought him Best Actor award in Cannes. But “Silent Friend” is still his “only experimental movie.”

“I haven’t seen it yet. I usually try to avoid [watching my films] because every time, I only see missing parts.” Was there ever one he considered to be perfect? “Never.”

Making it changed his own relationship to nature.

“I would read about early cognitive development of babies, about plant intelligence and it really changed my perspective towards the world. I pay more respect to it,” he admits.

“Why do we assume that plants don’t have intelligence when other living beings do? It just exists in a different form; one we don’t quite understand. I really didn’t think this way before. It really makes sense. They are living beings, right next to us, but we are not aware of it. You know, humans always think we are at the top of the food chain, but we need to stop doing that. We should be more humble.”

Now, he hopes the viewers will feel the same.

“I really hope it will change their point of view, too. And make this planet a better place.”
