Shah Rukh Khan made a striking appearance with his Salt-and-Pepper new look at the National Film Awards ceremony. He was dressed in a sharp black suit and crisp white shirt, while warmly chatting with his longtime friend Rani Mukerji. The actor sported a salt-and-pepper hairstyle, which many believe is his look for Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King. This year marked a historic moment in his career, as he received his first-ever National Film Award for Best Actor for Jawan (2023).

Shah Rukh Khan Flaunts His New Salt-And-Pepper Look

Reportedly flying in from Poland, where he has been shooting King, the superstar accepted the honour from President Droupadi Murmu at the grand ceremony. His elegant look, paired with his mature charm, instantly caught attention. During the event, he was seen engaging warmly with Rani Mukerji, who was also honoured.

Adding to the celebratory mood, Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, introduced him as the King of Hearts. He praised his journey from Delhi theatre to global stardom, noting how his smile and dialogue have transcended borders. In response, an emotional Khan blew a flying kiss to the audience, a gesture that was captured and widely shared.

About Jawan

Directed by Atlee, Jawan was released in September 2023. It showcased Khan in a dual role—playing both the vigilante Azad and his father, Vikram Rathore. Also seen were Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi as Kaali, and a formidable team of female vigilantes. All these gave the story both emotional heft and adrenaline-fuelled energy.

In the wake of Pathaan’s historic success, Shah Rukh Khan is teaming up with director Siddharth Anand and Deepika Padukone once again for another high-octane action drama called King. The movie is the big theatrical launch of Suhana Khan, and hence a hotly anticipated film both for the industry as well as the fans.

The movie has gone into an active shooting schedule, with major action scenes being filmed in Poland, among other European places. As per a Pinkvilla report, Karanvir Malhotra, who was recently seen in Andhera, has also been added to the cast list. A development source spilled the beans and said,

“Karanvir is already shooting for King in Poland. His role has a strong trajectory in the story, and he’s excited to be a part of this franchisee production headlined by Shah Rukh Khan.”

Director Siddharth Anand is working towards filming at actual, unmanipulated locations in Europe to introduce a new visual tone to the movie. The action sequences are being choreographed with the consultation of global stunt teams, which is committing to offer a world-scale spectacle.

Adding to the excitement, Deepika Padukone has posted her joy of working with Shah Rukh Khan for the sixth time. Speaking about their journey that started with Om Shanti Om in 2007, she posted on Instagram:

“The very first lesson he taught me was that the experience of making a film and the people involved matter more than its success. That’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together.” She included hashtags #King and #Day1, confirming her involvement.

King has an all-star cast that includes Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, and Saurabh Shukla. King will have a big theatrical release in 2026, and the excitement already is reaching new heights.

Bruce Springsteen film ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ promises “new information to even his most ardent fans”

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

The forthcoming Bruce Springsteen film Deliver Me From Nowhere will contain “new information to even his most ardent fans”.

The movie charts the period in The Boss’s life when he recorded his sixth album ‘Nebraska’ (1982), with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White portraying the legendary artist. It is set to arrive in cinemas on October 23.

  • Read More: Bruce Springsteen live in London: the heartland hero remains firmly at his majestic peak

During a new interview with Empire, writer and director Scott Cooper opened up about how he approached making Deliver Me From Nowhere – which Springsteen has described as “an anti-biopic”.

“[Springsteen] said to me, ‘Scott, the truth about yourself isn’t always pretty’,” Cooper told the publication.

“We discussed that this was going to be a film so far removed from the mythology of the rock star. The thing that was most important to him was that this would be no hagiography.”

He continued, teasing that even Springsteen diehards would learn something new: “There’ll be things in this film that will be new information to even Bruce’s most ardent fans – not covered in his Broadway show, or in documentaries, or in his memoir.”

Cooper added: “And he never once asked me to sand off the rough edges. But would you expect anything else from Bruce Springsteen? This man who’s the reluctant moral conscience of America?”

Springsteen recently revealed why he gave Deliver Me From Nowhere the go-ahead, despite it charting a “difficult” time in his life.

“You know, it’s really not a biopic,” he said. “It just takes a couple years out of my life when I was 31 and 32, and looks at them really at a time when I made this particular record, and when I went through some just difficult places in my life, you know. And, I’m old and I don’t give a fuck what I do now.”

The singer-songwriter explained that he and Cooper “had a very specific idea, particularly, of what we were gonna attempt to do” with the film.

Cooper previously praised White’s portrayal of The Boss, saying that the actor had “an intensity of vulnerability and authenticity”. He said: “Jeremy has two things that really, for me, make up Bruce Springsteen, and one is humility. And the other is swagger.”

Critics have largely praised White’s performance in the first reviews of Deliver Me From Nowhere, with one calling his transformation “nothing less than stunning”. Another writer described the movie as an “unorthodox” biopic, while acknowledging Cooper’s “choices that hinder Nowhere from being a truly great film”.

Alongside White, the film stars Succession‘s Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager and producer Jon Landau, Adolescence‘s Stephen Graham as his father Douglas, and The Staircase‘s Odessa Young as love interest Faye Romano.

Springsteen visited White on set in New Jersey late last year before meeting the child actor who plays his younger self, Matthew Anthony Pellicano.

In other news, next month will see Springsteen finally release the legendary electric version of ‘Nebraska’. He has already previewed the collection with a demo version of ‘Born In The U.S.A.’.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the collaboration between Priyadarshan, Akshay and Saif to hit the screens. The film also features Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar. Expressing her excitement about joining the project, Saiyami said, “Walking onto the set of Haiwaan has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. I still remember being that little girl who sat wide-eyed in a theatre, watching Akshay sir redefine action as the or laughing endlessly at Saif sir’s effortless comic timing in films that became part of our growing-up years. Back then, I never imagined that one day I would actually be on a set with the very people whose films shaped my love for cinema.”

Shehnaaz Gill is back in the game, soaring to Jaipur to start her next film endeavor — and this time, she has none other than her acting guru Saurabh Sachdeva in tow. With her signature contagious charisma and expanding footprint in Punjabi and Hindi cinema, Shehnaaz is set to venture into a new direction in her acting career.

Although the producers have maintained title and plot under wraps, sources inform us that the project represents a major milestone in Shehnaaz’s growing film career. Having successfully crossed over from television to films, she continues to experiment and explore new areas on screen. Adding to the anticipation is the news that her mentor-turned-collaborator Saurabh Sachdeva will be mentoring her off-screen as well as on-screen.

Saurabh Sachdeva is well known to be among the most dynamic acting coaches and character actors in the industry. He has some of Bollywood’s brightest stars as his students, but his own acting credentials speak for themselves. With memorable roles in critically successful endeavors such as Sacred Games, Taish, Bhoot Police, Good Luck Jerry, Animal, Jaane Jaan, and Haddi, Saurabh has proved to be a chameleon-like actor who can move seamlessly from weighty dramas to offbeat entertainers.

Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver Star Wars Film

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

“Star Wars” fans are one step closer to returning to a galaxy far, far away.

The first trailer for director Jon Favreau’s “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” the upcoming “Star Wars” film starring Pedro Pascal from his “Mandalorian” Disney+ series, has been revealed.

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” was first announced in January 2024 as the next “Star Wars” movie in development, and it’s set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. In addition to Pascal’s masked Mandalorian character and his adorable sidekick Grogu (better known as Baby Yoda), the cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as a fighter pilot, Jeremy Allen White as Jabba the Hutt’s son and Jonny Coyne as an imperial warlord.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said when the film was first revealed. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

The “Mandalorian” series takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” where a lone mercenary (a Mandalorian from the planet Mandalore) makes his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy. Along the way, he meets Grogu (a force-sensitive creature from the same species as Jedi Master Yoda), and the two form an unlikely bond as they trek across the galaxy far, far away, avoiding the vestiges of the Empire and meeting characters from across the Star Wars canon.

Favreau is producing the film alongside Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Filoni, Lucasfilm CCO and former supervising director of the beloved animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

'The Crown' Producer Andy Harries, Jeff Pope Plan Caroline Aherne Film

‘The Crown’ Producer Andy Harries, Jeff Pope Plan Caroline Aherne Film

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Caroline Aherne, the beloved British comedy star behind The Royle Family and The Mrs Merton Show, is to be the subject of a feature film.

Andy Harries, producer of The Crown and Left Bank Pictures‘ executive chairman, is collaborating with Oscar-nominated Philomena writer Jeff Pope on the project, which remains in its infancy.

Harries told Deadline that Pope has written a script that chronicles Aherne’s “peak creative years,” from her stand-up work in the early nineties to writing and starring in The Royle Family, the iconic comedy series about a TV-obsessed Manchester family.

Harries had front-row seats to Aherne’s talents, having executive-produced The Royle Family and Mrs Merton for the BBC. Pope also worked closely with Aherne on The Fattest Man in Britain, starring Timothy Spall, and comedy The Security Men.

Harries is on the hunt for a director for the picture, while a cast has yet to be attached. He said the script is “sad, funny, and very emotional.” As for the role of Aherne, “it’s a really challenging part for an actress in her early to mid-30s,” Harries added.

Craig Cash, the co-creator of The Royle Family, is involved as a consultant and executive producer. Cash is best known nowadays as the narrator of Gogglebox, a job he inherited from Aherne after she died from cancer in 2016. She was just 52.

Pope said: “I loved Caroline and I still think about her, or some funny line she came up with, almost every day. She was a true original, a working-class woman from Manchester who broke all the rules — every single one of them. I want more people to understand what a genius she was, and what drove her.”

Pope spoke movingly about her death in 2016, telling The Guardian that she “suffered appallingly” with depression, but that her interest in people was a hallmark of her writing. Aherne won four BAFTA Awards during her career, while her other work included appearing as a regular on sketch series The Fast Show.

SJ Suryah can’t stop laughing as he watches this song from his film Kushi ft. Vijay; fans say he looks ‘embarrassed’

SJ Suryah directed the 2000 Tamil film Kushi which starred Vijay and Jyotika in lead roles. It will be re-released in theatres on 25 September.

Actor-director SJ Suryah held a press conference in Chennai on Saturday ahead of the re-release of his 2000 film Kushi. The film, starring Vijay and Jyotika in lead roles, will be re-released in theatres 25 years later. At the press meet, a video captured by a paparazzo shows Suryah laughing as a song from his film plays on-screen.

SJ Suryah’s Kushi starred Vijay and Jyotika in lead roles. It was released 25 years ago.

SJ Suryah can’t stop laughing at Kushi song

Suryah might have directed Kushi 25 years ago, but it looks like even he couldn’t control his laughter as the song Kattipudi Kattipudida played on-screen. A video shot by a paparazzo shows him smiling widely first before he starts laughing and covers his eyes as the person next to him laughs louder. The person sitting on the other side of him also seemingly said something about the song, making him laugh.

While the actor-director seemed to have taken it in his stride, fans thought Suryah looked ‘embarrassed’ by the song. One person re-sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “#SJSuryah’s reaction while watching Kattipudi song at yesterday’s press meet. He himself feels embarrassed.” Another joked, “He is feeling shy.” A fan even commented, “Pls delete kattipudu song from this movie. It’s so discomfort.”

SJ Suryah on the song

Kattipudi Kattipudida is a special number picturised on Vijay and Mumtaj. Talking to the press about it, Suryah said, “A maker cannot enjoy a film like the audience would, because they are watching it freshly. This is the first time I’ve seen this song as an audience member in years. Yes, it is a glamorous song, but the melody composed by Deva is sweet.” He even proceeded to sing a few lines for the press, calling the lyrics ‘poetic’.

Kushi was a hit when it was released in theatres in 2000 with Vijay and Jyotika in lead roles. Suryah shot the film’s Telugu version with the same title with Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla, which was released a year later. The Tamil version will now be re-released in theatres on 25 September. Vijay will soon be seen in Jana Nayagan, which is releasing in theatres for Pongal 2026.

Asia-Europe Film Co-Producers Face Funding Gaps, Cautious U.S. Market

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Producers from Asia and Europe discussed funding challenges and partnership obstacles at a panel at Busan’s Asian Contents & Film Market.

The “Cinematic Connection: Secrets of Successful Asia-Europe Co-Productions” panel, co-organized by Ties That Bind and European Film Promotion, brought together industry practitioners from Japan, the U.K., Indonesia and France to discuss the evolving landscape of international partnerships.

The panelists agreed that while Asia has abundant stories with global potential, the region is still quite different from Europe in funding network, co-producing, and distribution.

“Projects can hardly be financed in Indonesia,” said Yulia Evina Bhara of KawanKawan Media, citing her primary motivation for seeking international co-productions. Despite Indonesia’s rapidly expanding film market, local funding remains scarce due to high requirements for filmmakers’ international profiles and distribution power, making co-production essential for arthouse projects.

Japan’s Eiko Mizuno-Gray, chair of Loaded Films and producer of Cannes titles “Renoir” and “Plan 75,” highlighted partnership challenges closer to home after a decade in co-production. “It is difficult to find the right partner, which often costs more energy,” she said. “When we have a Japanese partner, we team with a couple of companies to make a film committee, we make a list of producers. The energy used on this is getting higher.”

Co-funding treaties have proven valuable, with Mizuno-Gray crediting agreements with Italy, China and Canada for supporting her projects. For sales and distribution, she emphasized that “choosing the right project is the principal rule.”

While streaming platforms increasingly dominate Gen-Z viewing habits, European theatrical culture remains robust, according to panelists. “France is lucky, there are a lot of arthouse films from Cannes, Berlin, and Venice getting distributed in cinemas. It is still a cinephile country,” said Jeanne Loriotti, sales executive at Paradise City Sales.

The panel concluded with discussion of North American distribution, where changing import policies have made sales representatives increasingly cautious. “The U.S. market is really important, everyone wants to have it,” said Fumie Suzuki Lancaster of the U.K.’s SC Films International Ltd. “But you must know the sales estimate before.”

Both Suzuki Lancaster and Loriotti confirmed that sales teams are proceeding with greater caution as the market landscape shifts.
