Every The Walking Dead spin-off in the works

The Walking Dead may have come to an end in 2022 after eleven seasons, but the franchise continues to live on through various spin-offs.

Based on the comic series by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead TV universe spans seven live-action shows in total, between sequels, prequels and anthology shows.

Some of these spin-offs have already come to an end, including Fear The Walking Dead, which spanned seven seasons, the teen-orientated The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and the one-off miniseries The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

Several shows, however, are still ongoing, so here’s a rundown of all The Walking Dead spin-offs in development.

Maggie and Negan’s spin-off was the first sequel series to The Walking Dead, which sees Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprise their roles.

After the show’s second season concluded in June 2025, a third season was announced a month later. Production is set to begin in Boston, Massachusetts in autumn 2025, with Seth Hoffman joining as the new showrunner.

“I’m excited to have the chance to dive back into The Walking Dead universe and work to deliver another dynamic season’s worth of stories to this epic franchise,” Hoffman said.

“It’s a true honor to chart out the next chapter for Maggie and Negan’s iconic adventures in Dead City. Lauren, Jeffrey and Scott [Gimple] are incredible creative partners and I’m thrilled to collaborate with them to bring this story to life.”

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4

Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride return as Daryl and Carol respectively in this sequel series, which takes the post-apocalyptic drama to Europe.

AMC announced the show would return for a fourth and final season earlier this year, which will span eight episodes. Production is set to begin in autumn 2025 in Spain.

Speaking about the final run of episodes, Reedus said: “Daryl Dixon has been an incredible journey. I thank each and every fan who has joined us on this ride. It’s been a privilege to build this story for these characters, and we have so much gratitude for how it’s been embraced.

“Your love and support have made every moment worth it. This finale isn’t just an ending; it’s a celebration of what we’ve all shared together. Keep carrying that love forward — Daryl’s journey is far from over.”

More Tales From The Walking Dead Universe

Back in 2023, AMC announced a new short-form spin-off with the working title, More Tales From The Walking Dead Universe. The show was pitched as a continuation of the anthology series, Tales Of The Walking Dead, which would be overseen by Scott Gimple.

There has been no word since about the spin-off, so it’s unclear if it is still in development.

Iconic comedy star Asrani dead at 84: Angrezon Ke Zamane Ka Jailor rests in peace

Legendary comedian and actor Asrani has died. He died at the age of 84 after prolonged illness.

Asrani has died at 84.

News agency ANI tweeted, “Actor-director Govardhan Asrani, popularly known as ‘Asrani’ passed away in Mumbai today after a prolonged illness. His last rites were performed at Santacruz Crematorium.”

Asrani’s manager, Babubhai Thiba, told ANI – “Asrani passed away today at 3 PM at Arogya Nidhi Hospital, Juhu. He is survived by his wife, sister, and nephew.”

They also shared pictures from the Crematorium where his family gathered for the last rites.

Asrani, one of Indian cinema’s most beloved comic actors, entertained audiences for over five decades.

A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, he began his career in the 1960s and quickly became a fixture in Hindi films. Best known for his hilarious portrayal of the eccentric jailor in Sholay, Asrani’s versatility allowed him to shine in both comedic and serious roles across hundreds of films.

His collaborations with directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Raj Kapoor cemented his reputation as a dependable character actor with an enduring charm and wit.

In 2016, he spoke to HT about how comedy has become vulgar over the years.

“Earlier we had two types of schools of comedy – Bimal Roy school (which was realistic) and Madras school (which was subtle). Bimal Roy never kept comedy out of the story line. Madras comedy was another track but never vulgar. Now, it has come down to terrible stuff. Ab to behad vulgar ho gya hai, bas kapde utarne ki deri hai,” said Asrani.

Asrani’s last Bollywood film Mastizaade was an adult comedy, where he played actor Sunny Leone’s father. “Mujhe mastizaade main kaam karna pada, mujhe sharam aayi (I had to work in Mastizaade, I felt embarrassed),” says Asrani.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 ending explained – every twist broken down

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Like its titular zombies, The Walking Dead continues to live on as a shadow of its former self. That is, except for the Daryl Dixon spin-off.

While other spin-offs have failed to capture what made the flagship show so popular, Norman Reedus and his fan-favourite character have endured for three seasons to much greater success.

With a season 4 already confirmed, the future’s looking good for Daryl and his bestie Carol who’s accompanied him for the past two seasons. Except, everyone’s favourite mulleted hero hasn’t exactly had it easy this time around.

Trapped in the Spanish town of Solaz del Amar, Daryl and Carol are caught up in all kinds of drama with the show’s new Big Bad, Fede. Plus, Carol’s been catching feelings for a local named Antonio. It’s a shame then that Fede has kidnapped Antonio and is currently torturing him for info on Daryl.

Will Carol find love at last? Will Daryl ever make it home? And will someone finally cut Daryl’s mullet down to size while he’s sleeping? These questions and more all come to mind watching the seventh, final episode of Daryl Dixon season 3.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 ending explained

The finale begins with a callback to a callback. Remember when Daryl placed Laurent’s Rubik’s Cube at a memorial to honour him a few episodes prior? (Laurent was the French kid Daryl looked after in seasons 1 and 2.)

Well, we’re back there now with another familiar face from previous seasons. Yep, the mysterious eyepatch guy is actually Stéphane Codron, who started out as a villain in season 1 before he switched sides.

The last time we saw him was at the end of season 2 when hallucinogenic bat poop in the Channel Tunnel caused him to see visions of his brother, during which he stabbed Daryl with a bayonet. Yep, really. That encounter ended with Stéphane running off to who knows where and he hasn’t been seen since. Until now. More on that later.

While Antonio is being tortured by Fede, Carol tries to convince his ungrateful son Roberto to help save him. She tells him to wait for Daryl and Justina to return from their mission and board the boat as she goes it alone. Carol’s smitten!

Fede makes an example of Antonio, stringing him up on a torture device in the town square as Carol watches in horror from the shadows. Only when he reveals where the Americans are hiding will Antonio be freed. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to scapegoat them in front of the town to assert Fede’s dominance further.

When night falls, Carol comes to free Antonio while avoiding gun fire from Fede’s henchmen in the distance.

Meanwhile, Daryl and Paz go undercover at a royal banquet, working as masked servants right under everyone’s noses. This is where the people with power gather in luxury, the same people who demand villages offer up their women to Spanish royalty in a ritual known as “La Ofrenda” (“The Offering”).

As they wine and dine in luxurious finery, the royals watch a special show on stage where walkers are dressed up fancy and strung up like marionette puppets to dance for them. The symbolism isn’t exactly subtle, but it’s a unique, striking image still, which has become somewhat of a rarity in the Walking Dead franchise these days.

The King dedicates a speech to his son Guillermo, and his “beautiful future wife” Elena, who was snatched away from her girlfriend Paz earlier this season.

Daryl ain’t having it, so he cuts the walkers free and opens the curtain, unleashing them on the crowd. He also starts a few fires for good measure as Paz heads off to rescue Elena.

The pair reunite with a hug in Elena’s place, where Paz finds out her love has a son named Pablo. They plan to run off together, but then a guard knocks Paz out, who wakes up to Guillermo threatening her.

“You want my wife?” he shouts. “Now you’ll be together every night because I’ll mount your head on her bedpost.”

As murderous threats go, that’s a pretty good one, but Elena then quite literally stabs him in the back to save Paz. They get the boy and run.

At the same time, Daryl saves Justina from the man who chose her at “The Matching” ritual before all hell broke loose. In doing so, Daryl saves some other women, because that’s just the nice guy that Daryl is.

Carol also received a welcome dose of human kindness from Antonio who’s prepared some tea for her in a brief safe spot. And not just any tea either, but with milk and honey. That’s how you know he’s one of the good ones.

Of course, it’s not long before Fede’s men show up pounding at the door. Luckily, the local women who hid them away show them to a convenient escape route concealed down in their basement.

One brief walker attack later and all our faves are reunited safely above ground. Paz thanks Daryl for all his help and then bounces while he and Justina take the scenic route back to the lighthouse on his motorbike.

They stop off briefly to share some thoughts which are supposed to sound deep, but come across a bit basic as they point out how the apocalypse turned some people bad and others good.

Eventually, they arrive back at the lighthouse but are welcomed by two intruders who attack and take Justina hostage. Valentina saves them quite quickly though, revealing that Roberto had her hide after she was injured in the initial attack.

Daryl runs off back to the village again in order to rescue Carol who went back for Antonio again. Fede has captured them both, but decides to immediately let them go…

Of course, there’s a catch. The catch being that Antonio’s son Roberto has been chained to two of his dead friends who are about to transform just as more walkers are led into the courtyard.

Carol and Antonio try to remove the chains but it’s too late. A local named Alba throws a knife to Carol, but Fede’s men shoot it away with startling accuracy. Unfortunately for them, said accuracy escapes them just moments later when Daryl arrives and starts shooting at them from a balcony nearby.

Daryl quickly picks off his aggressors as Carol picks up the knife and gets stabby stabby with the walkers. Justina arrives then, casually strolling through the mini-horde as both Daryl and Fede shoot at the zombies trying to eat her.

Remember, Fede is Justina’s uncle, so he does care about her safety still, despite how poorly he’s treated her up until now. This works against Fede though when the villagers emerge to hear Justina’s claims that Fede has been lying to them all.

She also announces that El Alcazar “is in ashes” thanks to Daryl, which means The Ofrenda is over for good.

Instead of torturing Fede like he did Antonio, Justina suggests taking him to the dungeon. To hurt him would mean they’re not better than him.

The evil cartoonish mayor then screams “This is your fault!” at Daryl as he’s led away. “You’ll pay!”

Do Daryl and Carol make it home?

Back at the lighthouse, Daryl and Carol finally get around to sharing those hot dogs they’ve been hankering for all season. Instead of sailing off immediately, using the boat to find their way home, the pair recuperate and open up to each other on the beach.

“This whole time I’ve been trying to get home,” says Daryl. “Why the f**k did I leave in the first place? Why did I have to get in a fight with the guy in Maine? Why didn’t I leave France when I could have? This makes no sense. My whole life I’ve been running, just running and fighting. That’s all.”

Carol says he did it to survive, but Daryl worries this has become a habit now, that he might arrive home and feel the urge to leave again still.

The pair hug it out, reminding us that this show is always at its best when Daryl and Carol are actually together instead of getting separated on endless side missions.

Meanwhile, Fede’s mama brings him food in jail. He asks to be freed, telling her that the town will obviously kill him as soon as Daryl and co sail away. “You already lost one son. You don’t want to lose another…”

The Spanish matriarch doesn’t say anything, but it’s not long before we find out what she did next, because Fede suddenly shows up on the beach, holding a gun to Daryl in a bid for revenge. But he doesn’t just run up and shoot him. No, that would have been the smart thing to do.

“I let you into my town,” he cries. “I gave you food and shelter and you took everything from me. Do you really think you can just sail home now?”

Just before Fede pulls the trigger, Carol appears and knocks him to the ground. A bullet’s fired off in the struggle, which somehow starts a fire in the ship. Others join in to help Carol, including Antonio who knocks Fede out with a rock.

The fire quickly devours the ship in a series of explosions, which means the gang aren’t going anywhere. A Spanish version of Johnny Cash’s Hurt plays as Daryl and Carol watch their ride home go up in flames.

Walkers on the set of Daryl Dixon season 3

It’s all very dramatic, and then Stéphane shows up again, watching the explosions from a distance using his one remaining eye.

With a fourth season already confirmed, it was inevitable that Daryl and Carol wouldn’t make it home just yet. But it seems that after bouncing around America, France, and the UK (briefly), the showrunners aren’t done with this Spanish setting just yet.

Let’s just hope the siesta they take between seasons is enough to inject some new life into this spin-off before it shuffles on into the horizon for good. Since Daryl and Carol left France, the show has lost some of its “je ne sais quoi”.

In the UK, Daryl Dixon season 3 will be available to stream on Sky and NOW from 24th October.

“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat,” the band wrote on Saturday

Sam Rivers, the founding bassist for Limp Bizkit, died on Saturday. He was 48. The band confirmed the news on social media.

“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat,” Limp Bizkit wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of Rivers. “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”

Rivers and Fred Durst met while in Jacksonville, Florida and first played together in the short-lived Malachi Sage. In 1994 after that band fizzled, they teamed up with Rivers’ cousin and drummer John Otto to form Limp Bizkit. Shortly afterward, guitarist Wes Borland joined them, rounding out the original lineup that expanded to include DJ Lethal.

“From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced,” the band continued in its statement on Saturday. “His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous.

“We shared so many moments — wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones — and every one of them meant more because Sam was there.”

“He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory,” the band wrote. “We love you, Sam. We’ll carry you with us, always. Rest easy, brother. Your music never ends.”

This is a developing story…

Lady Annabel Goldsmith dead at 91

The 91-year-old socialite – who was a close friend of the late Princess Diana – has passed away, leaving her six children, including journalist and film producer Jemima Goldsmith and former Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith, “desperately saddened”, according to MailOnline.

Lady Goldsmith was the younger daughter of the 8th Marquess of Londonderry and Queen Elizabeth II attended her “coming-out” ball in 1952.

Goldsmith’s first husband Mark Birley famously named the Mayfair nightclub Annabel’s after her in 1963.

The couple married in 1954 and had three children Rupert, Robin and India Jane.

They were married for 21 years before Lady Annabel’s affair with Sir James Goldsmith.

She went on to marry Sir James in 1978 and they had three more children together, Jemima, Zac and Ben.

Just last month, she attended the wedding of her son Zac to Hum Fleming at St James’s Church in Longborough in the Cotswolds.

According to The Sun, she once joked that she was “an incredible mother, rather a good mistress, but not a very good wife”.

Lady Annabel was born Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart in London in 1934.

She was the daughter of Robin Vane-Tempest-Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh, who went on to become the 8th Marquess of Londonderry, and Romaine Combe, who was the daughter of Major Boyce Combe, from Surrey.

She took on the title of Lady Annabel in 1949 at the age of 15 when her father became Marquess on the death of his father.

She tragically lost both of her parents at a young age, with her mother dying of cancer in 1951 and her father passing away in 1955.

Susan Stamberg Dead: NPR Journalist Was 87

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Veteran National Public Radio journalist Susan Stamberg, who became the first woman in the U.S. to anchor a nightly national news program with “All Things Considered,” died Thursday, according to NPR. She was 87.

Stamberg, who retired just six weeks ago, had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was honored by the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the National Radio Hall of Fame.

“Susan’s voice was not only a cornerstone of NPR — it was a cornerstone of American life,” Katherine Maher, NPR’s president and chief executive, said in a statement to the Washington Post. “She showed that journalism could be both rigorous and deeply personal. She inspired countless journalists to believe they could explore life and truth, and lead with both authority and warmth.”

Born Susan Levitt in Newark, N.J., she graduated Barnard College and started out at WAMU public radio in Washington, D.C.

She joined NPR upon its founding in 1971, starting out as an audio editor who cut audio tape with a razor blade, and in 1972 became co-host of evening news magazine “All Things Considered.” Stamberg hosted “All Things Considered” for 14 years in an era when few women got a chance at the top radio and television spots.

Her interviews often focused on the arts or quirky stories, rather than straight politics. She was also known for sharing her mother-in-law’s famous cranberry sauce recipe (it involves horseradish) with her listeners.

After “All Things Considered,” Stamberg shifted to “Weekend Edition Sunday,” where she helped launch a puzzle segment and invited the brothers who would go on to do “Car Talk” to do a weekly segment on the show. She then became a special correspondent, often focusing on stories about culture and sometimes about Hollywood.

She is survived by her son Josh Stamberg, an actor, and two granddaughters. Her husband Louis Stamberg died in 2007.

‘The Walking Dead’ could go on for another 15 years

by jummy84 October 15, 2025

Long running TV show, The Walking Dead, could continue for another 15 years says one of the series’ producers.

  • READ MORE: ‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’ review: ‘Stand By Me’ in the zombie apocalypse

During a panel at New York Comic-Con to mark the 15th anniversary of the TV series’ premiere on AMC Network, the show’s writer and executive producer Scott M. Gimple said there were many storylines still to still explore.

Speaking alongside the cast of Daryl Dixon – the Walking Dead-spinoff series, which follows Norman Reedus’ iconic character, Gimple said: “It’s quite possible we could see this group up here 15 years from now,” (as per Variety).

“There are many more continents to visit. It’s about how [the characters] evolve over time. It’s really exciting to see how far we can take this,” he continued. “In a lot of ways, [the locations] give the story to us,” he said of the extensive possibilities the locations of the stories bring.

He went on to compare the world-building of the stories to those in Marvel and DC movies.
“It was all one story. It went in all sorts of different directions,” he explained during the panel session. “Even with characters who have done so many things, we can put them in different worlds where they have different challenges and evolve them through these challenges.”

The Walking Dead original series ran for 11 seasons, finishing in 2022. Daryl Dixon is the fifth TV spin-off in The Walking Dead franchise, after Fear The Walking Dead, World Beyond, Tales Of The Walking Dead and Dead City. Another spin-off debuted in 2024, titled The Ones Who Live, bringing the total number to six.

In July this year, AMC renewed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a fourth and final season, which will consist of eight episodes.

Speaking about the show’s end, Norman Reedus said: “Daryl Dixon has been an incredible journey.

Keep carrying that love forward – Daryl’s journey is far from over.”

The show has received a mostly positive response from critics and fans since it’s airing.

D’Angelo, the neo soul pioneer who revolutionized R&B music, has died at the age of 51 following a private battle with pancreatic cancer.

TMZ reports that the singer passed away Tuesday morning in New York City. His family confirmed the news in a statement issued to Variety. “The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life,” it reads. “After a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce that Michael D’Angelo Archer, known to his fans around the world as D’Angelo, has been called home, departing this life today, October 14th, 2025.”

The statement continues, “We are saddened that he can only leave dear memories with his family, but we are eternally grateful for the legacy of extraordinarily moving music he leaves behind. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time but invite you all join us in mourning his passing while also celebrating the gift of song that he has left for the world.”

Born Michael Eugene Archer on February 11th, 1974, in South Richmond, Virginia, D’Angelo began playing the piano as a child. While in high school, he achieved local success as part of the trio Three of a Kind, which later won three Amateur Night contests at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.

After going solo, D’Angelo burst onto the scene with his 1995 debut album, Brown Sugar. It was at the forefront of the burgeoning neo soul movement, a term coined by his manager, Kedar Massenburg, which also featured artists such as Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Maxwell.

D’Angelo was scheduled to headline Roots Picnic this past summer, but canceled the appearance.

This is a developing story…
