‘Baywatch’ Reboot Coming to Fox in 2026-27

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Fox is putting Baywatch back on patrol.

The network has placed a series order for an update of the lifeguard drama, a staple of syndicated TV in the 1990s. The new Baywatch is set to air 12 episodes in the 2026-27 season and comes from Fox Entertainment and Fremantle, which holds the rights to the original series.

Matt Nix (Burn Notice, CBS’ True Lies) will serve as showunner on the new series and executive produce with Baywatch creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Doug Schwartz, as well as Dante Di Loreto.

“In its first run, Baywatch defined an entire era of beach life and elevated lifeguards to an iconic status. Now, with our partners at Fremantle, this television juggernaut is set for a modern-day comeback,” Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “Together, Fox and Fremantle, along with Matt Nix and original co-creator Greg Bonann, will bring the California dream to a whole new generation of fans with fresh stories, rising stars and all the spectacle that make the Baywatch franchise a global sensation.”

Baywatch premiered as an NBC movie in 1989 and aired one season on the network in 1989-90 before moving into syndication for the rest of its run. The series starred David Hasselhoff as the head of a team of lifeguards in Southern California (and later Hawaii). Over its 11 seasons, the cast also featured Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Parker Stevenson, Nicole Eggert, David Charvet, Carmen Electra and Jason Momoa, among others.

“Baywatch has always been a treasured asset in Fremantle’s portfolio and remains one of the most iconic series in television history globally,” said Christian Vesper, CEO global drama at Fremantle. “We have found the perfect partners in Fox to help us maintain this legacy. With Matt Nix at the helm, we are in great hands, as he excels at telling engaging and entertaining stories. Our goal is to reconnect with existing fans while also introducing a new generation to the world of these famous lifeguards.”

Fox’s description of the new Baywatch will feature “all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.”

Fox aired another lifeguard series, the Hawaii-set Rescue: Hi-Surf, last season, but the show was canceled in May.

The original series also spawned a spinoff, Baywatch Nights, in which Hasselhoff’s character, Mitch Buchanon, joins his friend Garner Ellerbee (Gregory Alan Williams) in a private detective agency. Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron starred in a 2017 movie adaptation, and a Hulu docuseries last year featured interviews with a number of alumni.

Welcome To Derry Trailer Teases “Something Bad Is Coming”

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Derry, Maine, may have the facade of a quaint, picturesque town, but with Pennywise lurking below, its residents would likely argue otherwise.

The new trailer for HBO‘s IT: Welcome to Derry, starring and executive produced by Bill Skarsgård in his return as the terrifying killer clown, gives viewers another terrifying glimpse at what they’re in for when the prequel series hits the small screen next month.

“Do you think somebody could kidnap a kid and keep him underground? In the sewers?”

The question that has plagued Derry residents for decades floats over the trailer from one of the young kids trying to understand how and why his friend disappeared. It’s 1962, and this has never happened before. Little do they know what they’re going up against.

The trailer also finally includes a look at Skarsgård’s Pennywise, hiding his face behind the infamous red balloon as he lurks in the shadows. Cut to a young girl shrieking, her face covered in blood.

If the trailer is any indication, viewers are in for a pretty disturbing ride in this 9-episode series. One this is for sure, as the trailer teases: “Something bad is coming.”

Watch the full trailer above. IT: Welcome to Derry will launch on October 26 on HBO Max.

Set in the world of Stephen King’s It universe, Welcome To Derry (wt) expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films, which amassed a combined $1.17 billion worldwide.

The series stems from a story by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs based on King’s novel It. In addition to Skarsgård, the cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso.

Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti executive produce through their Double Dream production company alongside Fuchs through his FiveTen Productions banner, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Lee and Dan Lin. Fuchs, who wrote the teleplay for the first episode, and Kane serve as co-showrunners.

Is Jimmy Kimmel Coming Back? What We Know About His ABC Conversations – Hollywood Life

Since Jimmy Kimmel Live! was “pre-empted indefinitely” in ABC’s own words, there’s a chance the comedian’s show could return. As critics and fans clash over the Disney network’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel, some are wondering if and when he’ll come back.

Below, Hollywood Life has compiled everything we know so far about Kimmel’s potential return to ABC.

Was Jimmy Kimmel Fired by ABC?

No, Kimmel has not been fired; he’s been suspended “indefinitely.”

Why Was Jimmy Kimmel Suspended?

Kimmel was suspended for his remarks about Charlie Kirk‘s suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson. Days after Kimmel sent his condolences to the Kirk family and condemned gun violence, he said on his show’s September 15, 2025, broadcast, “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

During that episode, the comedian showed how Donald Trump responded to a reporter who asked how he was coping with Kirk’s death.

“I think very good, and by the way, right there — do you see all the trucks?” the president asked. “They just started construction for the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they’ve been trying to get as, you know, for about 150 years. And it’s gonna be a beauty.”

ABC affiliate Nexstar then said it would not broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the “foreseeable future” on its stations, adding that it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Hours before ABC pulled Kimmel off the air, Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission, criticized Kimmel’s “MAGA” comments.

“This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said on Benny Johnson’s show. “Disney needs to see some change here, but the individual licensed stations that are taking their content, it’s time for them to step up and say this, you know, garbage to the extent that that’s what comes down the pipe in the future isn’t something that we think serves the needs of our local communities. … There’s calls for Kimmel to be fired. I think you could certainly see a path forward for suspension over this.”

The FCC threat was the final straw for Disney, according to CNN.

Is Jimmy Kimmel Coming Back?

Since Disney’s ABC said Kimmel has been “pre-empted indefinitely,” there is a chance he could return, but it’s unclear when. A source familiar with the situation told CNN, “Everyone deeply values him and wants him to come back. But he has to take down the temperature [with his Trump-related commentary].”

CNN further reported that Disney’s decision to pull Kimmel’s show was not a “rash” decision. The problem “had been brewing” the week of September 15, 2025. Kimmel didn’t relent from commenting on the “MAGA gang,” so Disney executives told him to “[take] down the temperature” of what would have been his September 17, 2025, monologue, according to a separate insider. When he didn’t, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment Co-chairman Dana Walden decided to yank the show “in hopes of protecting Kimmel and the Disney brand from accelerating the controversy,” per CNN.

What Is Jimmy Kimmel’s Salary at ABC?

Kimmel earns around $15 million per year with ABC, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

What’s Coming in October 2025

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Fall TV is in full swing already and is only picking up momentum by October. “Huluween” is still very much celebrated among TV fans, and Disney+ will get in on the action with new “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Vampirina: Teenage Vampire.” Plenty of new Hulu originals will make their way to the streamer, including the star-studded “Murdaugh: Death in the Family,” the Korean drama “Tempest,” and the final season of “Solar Opposites.”

And if you’ve paused or not yet started either subscription, new network TV is the perfect excuse to do so (“Abbott Elementary” returns October 2!) — as well as plenty of other films and movies coming to both Hulu and Disney+ in October.

'Depeche Mode: M'

Top Pick: “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” (Hulu)

Maggie (Patricia Arquette) and Alex Murdaugh (Jason Clarke) are the couple at the head of an esteemed South Carolina family whose life is turned upside down when their son Paul (Johnny Berchtold) dies in a boat crash. As the investigation continues into Paul’s death and others, the Murdaugh family’s name comes into question, with the fate of their legacy hanging in the balance. The series comes from Erin Lee Carr and co-creator/ showrunner Michael D. Fuller and is based on the popular “Murdaugh Murders Podcast,” featuring Will Harrison, Brittany Snow, J. Smith-Cameron, Gerald McRaney, and Noah Emmerich in the cast.

Is ‘Hades 2’ coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S?

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Hades 2 is one of the most anticipated games currently in early access. The reviews and impressions of the early access version have been incredibly strong, and console players are keen to know when they will be able to play now that we have a 1.0 release date.

  • READ MORE: All 2025 game release dates for PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch

However, Supergiant Games has been pretty silent on social media and in discussions about a console release. However, they have given a brief statement on when you can expect a console release for the sequel of the GOTY winner.

Is ‘Hades 2’ coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S?

Hades 2 will likely come to console platforms (PS5 and Xbox Series) sometime after its initial launch on September 25, 2025. The game is slated to release on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch first. This is similar to the first game, which had a timed exclusivity window on PC and Switch.

Nothing has been confirmed just yet by Supergiant Games, but it does seem inevitable that we will see a PS5 and Xbox Series launch, although a PS4 and Xbox One release is still up for debate. Hades came to PlayStation and Xbox around 11 months after the initial Nintendo Switch and PC release, so it seems likely that we will see Hades 2 come to PlayStation and Xbox sometime next Summer. We will keep this article updated as we hear more about the game’s release plans on other platforms.

Early Access was used as a testing period to hone the gameplay, improve bugs, and see how players feel about new features and mechanics. The launch of the game on PC in early access has been a huge success, surpassing the player count of the original significantly. So, a console release seems likely eventually.

We were to do a film after ‘Wasseypur’, Anurag felt script was not coming together: Manoj Bajpayee

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Mumbai, Anurag Kashyap was writing a film for Manoj Bajpayee after the success of his two-part epic “Gangs of Wasseypur” but he had to abandon the project after hitting a roadblock, says the actor, who shares a close friendship with the director that dates back to their first commercial hit “Satya” in 1998.

We were to do a film after ‘Wasseypur’, Anurag felt script was not coming together: Manoj Bajpayee

The Ramgopal Varma-directed film, which Kashyap wrote, launched Bajpayee into stardom as Bhiku Mhatre. They went on to work on “Kaun” and “Shool” but misunderstanding kept them from working together for several years.

Years later, Kashyap and Bajpayee reunited for the director’s “Gangs of Wasseypur” .

“There was too much misunderstanding, which got cleared up only after we decided to work on ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. But it was a loss not only for both of us but also for our audience because we could really create a lot of magic together. We understood each other, we were just right for each other, and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ proved it right,” Bajpayee told PTI in an interview.

But it has been thirteen years since “Wasseypur”, did they not discuss another collaboration?

“We were discussing a film very seriously. But Anurag being Anurag, he is very unpredictable, and I accept him in all of his flaws, that’s the kind of relationship I’ve with him. He realised that he is not being able to do justice to it as a writer, so we stopped,” the actor said.

Bajpayee has not lost hope about Kashyap starting the project again but wouldn’t actively follow its development.

“Let’s see, one fine morning he will get up and he will have his script. I don’t put any pressure on him at all. He is that kind of a person who is never easy with compulsions whether emotional, physical or financial.”

Now Kashyap has turned presenter for Bajpayee’s new project “Jugnuma”, which has been directed by Raam Reddy.

“He saw the film at the New York Film festival, and he was blown away by the film. And he decided to support the film, and put his name on the poster. He got a few of the exciting filmmakers, big names from South India like Vetri Maaran, Nag Ashwin, Lijo . All of them have seen the film and they have lent their names to it. This just tells you about the beauty of the film, and what a magical story ‘Jugnuma’ is,” he said.

According to Bajpayee, Kashyap single handedly mentored many independent films by putting his might behind the filmmakers.

“He is a very courageous guy. There are flip sides to him, there is always a dark phase that he goes through, but that’s his personality. I personally feel that he can’t create without chaos. So, his chaos is a positive indication to me that he is going to come up with something really fantastic.”

Asked if there was something that he disliked about Kashyap’s personality that he has not shared with his friend, Bajpayee said the filmmaker thrives in chaos, while he himself is highly organised.

“There are very few things that I dislike about him, like he is not tidy enough. He should be, but he refuses to be tidy. His place is always scattered, and he doesn’t like anyone to clean it. I’m a person who is very organised, so I find it very unsettling when I enter his house,” Bajpayee said.

“Jugnuma”, which is titled “The Fable” in English, is set to release in theatres this Friday.

Superman Fans Are ‘Rubbing Eyes In Disbelief’ Over James Gunn’s Latest Announcement – What’s Coming Next? | Glamsham.com

Director James Gunn has formally revealed the title of his much-awaited Superman movie, shifting away from the earlier announced Superman: Legacy. The movie will be released as Superman: Man of Tomorrow and has been scheduled to release in theatres on July 9, 2027.

Title Reveal with Comic Book Tribute

Gunn broke the news on Instagram, with gorgeous artwork by iconic DC Comics illustrator Jim Lee. His post read, simply, “Man of Tomorrow. In theatres July 9, 2027.” The film will feature David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the legendary villain Lex Luthor.

The news comes after DC recently announced Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is set to be released in 2026. Interestingly, DC had originally intended for that movie to be titled Woman of Tomorrow, but had subsequently dropped the title by itself.

The Meaning Behind ‘Man of Tomorrow’

The term “Man of Tomorrow” has been associated with Superman’s mythology for close to a century. It is one of the character’s earliest nicknames, often employed in radio serials, vintage comics, and most notably in Alan Moore’s legendary tale, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? A 2020 animated movie also bore the title.

The line encapsulates Superman’s perpetual position as a beacon of hope and protector of humanity’s future—a perfect choice for Gunn’s redefinition of the character.

Setting the Stage for the DCU

Superman: Man of Tomorrow is James Gunn and Peter Safran’s first full-length film since being entrusted with the just-rebooted DC Universe. DC obviously is setting up a new Kryptonian saga with Supergirl coming out in 2026 and Superman in 2027.

Gunn has confirmed he has already finished writing the treatment for the film, describing it as “the next chapter in the Superman saga.

All the New Stars & Who Is Coming Back – Hollywood Life

Saturday Night Live went through a cast shakeup two months ahead of its season 51 premiere, and while some departures are shocking, the NBC sketch comedy series cycles through different comedians every year. So, who’s actually returning for SNL in 2025, and who’s part of the new cast?

Following SNL50 and the show’s season 50 finale, the show’s longest-running cast member, Kenan Thompson, teased to Page Six that “bittersweet” changes were imminent.

“Especially this year where it feels like there’s maybe, possibly, a lot of change next year,” the Nickelodeon alum said. “You want everyone to stay forever, knowing that people may be making decisions this summer. It’s always like you want your kids to stay young.”

Hollywood Life has the latest updates on who’s in the SNL season 51 cast and who’s leaving.

Was SNL Canceled?

No, season 51 of SNL will still air on October 4, 2025. The show has not been canceled.

Who Is Returning to the SNL Cast for Season 51?

At the time of publication, these names are presumably still part of SNL for its 51st season:

Who Are the New SNL Season 51 Cast Members?

The following were announced as new cast members of SNL season 51:

  • Tommy Brennan
  • Jeremy Culhane
  • Ben Marshall
  • Kam Patterson
  • Veronika Slowikowska

Since multiple cast members have left the show, this list can change at any point before season 51 airs in October 2025.

Who Is Leaving SNL? 2025 Cast Departures

The following cast members are leaving SNL ahead of season 51:

Why Is Heidi Gardner Leaving SNL?

Heidi has not publicly commented on her shocking exit from SNL at the time of publication. Her departure comes eight years after she made her debut, and the actress became the longest-running tenured female on the show.

Was Anyone Fired From SNL?

It’s unclear who was fired and who left on their own accord, but Devon and Emil seemingly hinted that they were released from SNL.

Devon was the first to comment on his departure, sharing a screenshot from a computer Text Edit note to his Instagram carousel post in August 2025.

“Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes, it was really cool,” Devon wrote in his statement. “Sometimes, it was toxic as hell. But we did what we made the most of what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction. We made a f**ked up lil family.”

The top of Devon’s note was labeled, “wait..did he quit or did he get fired?”

As for Emil, the comedian also confirmed his exit via Instagram, implying that he was released upon receiving a phone call.

“I won’t be returning to SNL next year,” Emil confirmed via Instagram in late August 2025. “It was a gut punch of a call to get, but I’m so grateful for my time there.”

Wu Lyf pull latest single ‘A New Life Is Coming’ from Spotify over CEO’s “investment in AI weaponry”

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Wu Lyf have removed their latest single ‘A New Life Is Coming’ from Spotify – find out more below.

READ MORE: Deftones’ Chino Moreno on longevity, creativity and making music that lives forever

In April, Wu Lyf released ‘A New Life Is Coming’, marking their first release in 13 years. Now, just five months later, the band have pulled the song from Spotify – and other streaming platforms. While the band haven’t addressed its removal from Apple Music and other platforms, they did confirm on social media that its removal from Spotify was largely due to Spotify CEO Daniel Ek’s investment in AI military drone tech.

Wu Lyf wrote on Instagram over the weekend: “A few months ago we pulled ‘Go Tell Fire to the Mountain’ from streaming services, clearing ground for a new life to take root. There were several conversations that led to this decision, circling around a disdain for what the Spotify algorithm & economics has done to music culture. Since then we’ve all learned about the Spotify CEO’s investment in A.I. weaponry and seen several bands we respect make statements about removing their music.”

“Now, following some lengthy debate we’ve decided to take ‘A New Life Is Coming’ down as well. Nothing ever changes unless we have the courage to try (& perhaps fail) to do things differently. Today on worldunite.org we’re sharing an early demo of ‘Letting Go’ for LYF members. This take was recorded shortly after the initial idea emerged out of some soul making blues, and though the song has evolved somewhat since then we think it captures something special…”

With the move, Wy Lyf join King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Xiu Xiu – who also recently  announced that they are in the process of removing their music from the platform over Ek’s “investment in AI war drones” – and Deerhoof, who pulled their catalogue from the streamer for the same reason, stating: “We don’t want our music killing people. We don’t want our success being tied to AI battle tech,” Deerhoof said in a statement.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard frontman Stu Mackenzie said: “We’ve been saying fuck Spotify for years. In our circle of musician friends, that’s what people say all the time, for all of these other reasons which are well documented.” He went on to explain that while he doesn’t “really consider myself an activist, and I don’t feel comfortable soapboxing,” the band “don’t really want our music to be here, at least right now”.

In recent years, people have been divided about streaming platforms and their impact on the music industry. In 2024, for example, Ek sparked backlash for his comments relating to the cost of “creating content”, with countless users and musicians describing him as “out of touch”.

Ek later walked back on his comments, explaining in an apology that he had no intention of dismissing the struggles faced by musicians and using the “reductive” label of “content”. The negative response to this was heightened as, around the same time, it was confirmed that Spotify had made profits of over €1billion (£860m), following staff being laid off and subscription prices rising.

The streaming platform also received criticism after it officially demonetised all songs on the platform with less than 1,000 streams – making it harder for artists to generate royalties from their music and restricting new artists looking to crack the music industry.
