‘Star Trek,’ ‘Waltons’ Director Was 102

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Ralph Senensky, the prolific TV director who called the shots for the emotional return of Ellen Corby on The Waltons, the three-part pilot for Dynasty and, before he was fired, 6 1/2 episodes of the original Star Trek, has died. He was 102.

Senensky died Saturday in a hospital in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, his niece, costume designer Lisa Lupo-Silvas, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He was 100 precent sharp until the end,” she said. “He may have been 102, but he had a mind like he was 30.”

The Iowa native also helmed multiple episodes of Dr. Kildare, Naked City, 12 O’Clock High, The Fugitive, The F.B.I., Ironside, The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, Dan August, Nanny and the Professor, The Partridge Family, Barnaby Jones, Insight, Hart to Hart and The Paper Chase.

And in 1963 for the ABC medical drama Breaking Point, he handled one of the earliest gay storylines for television.

Among Star Trek fans, Senensky is synonymous with some of the best episodes of the Paramount/NBC series. Season one’s “This Side of Paradise” is regarded as one of the early standout Spock installments, and season’s two “Metamorphosis,” another installment that premiered in 1967, was his personal favorite.

For the third season, he embarked on 1968’s “The Tholian Web,” which saw Kirk (William Shatner), Spock (Leonard Nimoy), McCoy (DeForest Kelley) and Chekov (Walter Koenig) don shiny silver spacesuits as they investigate a crippled sister ship.

There was trouble ahead, however. Those zipper-less suits meant the actors had to be sewn into their costumes, then unsewn when they needed a bathroom break. By the third day of shooting, Senensky was four scenes behind schedule when he was called into producer Fred Freiberger’s office and fired.

On the pages of The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount executive Douglas S. Cramer announced that Herb Wallerstein would finish things up. Senensky got zero credit for his work.

“The article pointed out the studio’s intent to curtail the problem of films not being completed as scheduled,” Senensky reflected on his website. He said he received a phone call from Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, who was “outraged, apologetic and sympathetic.”

Over five years starting in 1973, Senensky directed 12 episodes of CBS’ The Waltons, perhaps none more moving than “Grandma Comes Home,” the sixth-season finale that aired on March 30, 1978.

The episode marked the return of Corby as Grandma Walton to the show after she had suffered a stroke in 1976. Writers incorporated her illness into the series, and she received top billing in the credits that week, with an Emmy nomination to soon follow.

In a 2011 chat for the Television Academy Foundation website The Interviews, Senensky noted that he spaced out Corby’s scenes across multiple days and only filmed in the morning to make it easier on her.

“They gave me two cameras at all times,” he said, “so when I was shooting her, I could shoot the over-the-shoulder and close-up all in one take.”

In the most powerful sequence, Grandma Walton — feeling as though she’s become a burden on the family — breaks down in tears opposite daughter-in-law Olivia (Michael Learned) as they snap beans on the porch.

When the dallies were shown in a screening room the following day, the director and those watching became emotional. From the back, Waltons creator Earl Hamner Jr. yelled, “Senensky, you son of a bitch!”

“It was the nicest words anybody ever called me,” he said.

The show’s iconic close of the family wishing “Good night” to one another was tweaked to have Corby say, “Good night, everyone” as the screen fades to black.

“How this performance came out of her in the condition she was in was truly a miracle,” Senensky said. “What she should have won was an award for a Profile in Courage.”

The older of two boys, Ralph Abbott Senensky was born in Mason City, Iowa, on May 1, 1923. His father, William, co-owned a clothing store, and his mother, Jenny, was a homemaker.

At Mason City High School, Senensky served as editor of the one-page weekly Cub Gazette and worked as a director’s assistant on school productions.

Shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he registered for the draft at age 18 and was stationed in Belgium. Upon his return, he did four years of community theater, studied at Northwestern and enrolled at the Pasadena Playhouse.

He eventually got his foot in the door at CBS in Los Angeles in 1955 typing radio scripts, became secretary for Playhouse 90 producer Russell Stoneham and was promoted to production supervisor. In that role, he visited Norman Felton daily, and the CBS executive producer recognized his name from a James Powers-written THR review of a play that Senensky had directed.

When Felton moved to MGM to launch Arena Productions, Senensky followed and made his TV directorial debut in 1961 on the first season of Richard Chamberlain‘s Dr. Kildare.

While working in November 1963 on the ABC crime series Arrest and Trial on Skid Row in Los Angeles, production was abruptly shut down when it was announced that President Kennedy had been assassinated.

“I remember sitting in the back seat of a car with bodies on either side of me,” Senensky recalled. “Mickey Rooney [a guest star] was in the front seat with bodies on either side of him, with the radio on, and all the inhabitants of Skid Row were around. It was like being in church as we heard the news report.”

Four months earlier, Senensky had helmed the Breaking Point episode “The Bull Roarer,” which starred Lou Antonio as a shy construction worker who questions his sexuality while dealing with his macho, dominating brother (Ralph Meeker).

The pivotal role on the Ben Casey spinoff was originally given to Dean Stockwell, but he had a change of heart after reading the script. Senensky then suggested Antonio, whom he had directed on ABC’s Naked City.

Breaking Point was produced by George Lefferts, whose contract stipulated he could choose a handful of topics usually ignored by the industry. The agreement came in handy when ABC censors objected to parts of the script.

“I think that was a historic moment in television,” Senensky wrote. “I am 99 and 44/100 percent sure that was the first time the word ‘homosexual’ was uttered in a drama in an American television show.”

Also in 1963, he directed Burgess Meredith in the hourlong Twilight Zone episode “Printer’s Devil” and two episodes of ABC’s Route 66.

In the ’70s, Senensky worked on telefilms including 1974’s Death Cruise, starring Richard Long and Polly Bergen; 1975’s The Family Nobody Wanted, starring Shirley Jones; and 1978’s The New Adventures of Heidi.

He directed just one feature, Harper Valley P.T.A. (1978), starring Barbara Eden, but he left two weeks before completion and was replaced by Richard Bennett.

Senensky then helmed the first three episodes of Aaron Spelling’s Dynasty that aired back-to-back-to-back on ABC on Jan. 12, 1981.

His final screen credit, after an absence of 27 years, was as director of the short film The Right Regrets (2013), written and produced by friend and actress Marlyn Mason.

“Ralph was a walking encyclopedia on film history,” Mason told obituarist Eve Golden. “Watching an old classic with him was equal to a semester at Harvard. … He chose to stay in the world of television, but when you look at his work, you feel you’re looking at a feature movie.”

In addition to his niece, survivors include his brother, Ervin; his sister-in-law, Audrey; and his great-nephew, Julien.

Despite directing nearly 200 TV episodes over 25 years, Senensky realized he primarily will be remembered for those 6 1/2 Star Trek shows. (He also helmed “Obsession,” “Return to Tomorrow,” “Bread and Circuses” and “Is There in Truth No Beauty?”)

Shortly after wrapping “This Side of Paradise” — he earned $3,000 for his first Star Trek gig, he said — he received a letter from Nimoy.

“It was not only a special Spock experience, but it was special for me as well in that I felt safely in the hands of a capable and sensitive director,” Nimoy wrote. “Unfortunately, a rare experience in TV.”

“So, I’m not going to say yes or no, but all I can say is, maybe it is something I should think about doing after seeing all of the love for me going in or for potentially doing it is unbelievable. Outside of her acting career, Palmer has been DJing since 2012 and has been living in the United States since 2014. Earlier this year, the actress took part in Celebrity Big Brother, so her partaking in I’m a Celebrity may be less than likely now.

Prior to her appearing on Big Brother, Palmer had 2/1 odds to star in this year’s I’m a Celebrity.

Sending a video to hosts Ant & Dec last year, Grealish said: “Hey guys, Jack here. I’ve heard that a few of you guys want to see me in the jungle. I can’t lie to you this is something that I’d absolutely love to do.

“It’s a show that I’ve watched since I was little and it’s a show that I love. I don’t know how I’d get on in there and I don’t think I’d be the best, to be honest, but I’d give it a go.”

Jools Oliver is a designer and owns the lifestyle brand Little Bird.

While rumours linking Jamie Oliver to the series crop up from time to time, he put them to bed while suggesting his wife could take part instead.

“I think it’s an amazing show, but honestly you couldn’t give me enough olive oil in the world to make me eat a witchetty grub or a kangaroo’s a**e, no way,” the celebrity chef told hosts Ant & Dec on Instagram Live.

“But what I can give you is my wife Jools, she would love to be on the show. Go on Jools.”

Dec joked: “Jools Oliver, first booking for 2025. Thanks, Jools, see you in Australia.”

Will ‘The Beast in Me’ Return for Season 2? Cast, Details, More Updates

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • The Beast in Me is a Netflix thriller about an author investigating her enigmatic neighbor, a suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
  • Starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, the series is billed as a limited series with no official renewal for Season 2.
  • All eight episodes of the first season will be released on Netflix on November 13.

Something tells us we’re going to want to see more from Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys‘ cat-and-mouse game in the new Netflix thriller, The Beast in Me, after the first season, which premieres in November.

Danes’ Aggie is an author who begins looking into Rhys’ Nile for her next book — he’s been accused of being behind his wife’s disappearance. Both are “the best at what they do,” showrunner and executive producer Howard Gordon previously told TV Insider. “They recognize in each other a kind of excellence, and it’s a kind of excellence that is a lonely excellence, really. …They’re both clever. They’re both alone. And the fact that they find each other in this improbable situation, I think, is what really gives it an extra dimension — aside from the sort of plot machinations and the cat and mouse of it all.” Doesn’t that sound like something you’d like to see across multiple seasons?

But will there be a Beast in Me Season 2? Read on for everything we know.

Is The Beast in Me renewed for Season 2?

No. The Beast in Me is billed as a limited series, which would suggest it won’t be back for a second season. However, other shows have been billed as such — including Untamed, also on Netflix — and returned for more.

When TV Insider asked Gordon about the possibility of another season, he told us, “The short answer is I would say, sure. … I think there probably is a story there.”

When is The Beast in Me premiere date?

All eight episodes of The Beast in Me Season 1 will be available to stream on Thursday, November 13, on Netflix.

Who’s in The Beast in Me cast?

In addition to Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, the series stars Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales. Guest stars include Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Hettienne Park, Deirdre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison, and Julie Ann Emery.

Howard Gordon is showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Gabe Rotter is creator, writer, and executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Danes; Antonio Campos (who is also the director); Daniel Pearle; Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, and David Kissinger for Conaco; Caroline Baron; and Jodie Foster. The series is written by Gabe Rotter (101 and 102), Erika Sheffer (103), C.A. Johnson (104), Daniel Pearle (101, 105, 108), Ali Liebegott (106), Mike Skerrett (107), and Howard Gordon (108).

What is The Beast in Me about?

According to Netflix, “Since the tragic death of her young son, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.”

‘A House of Dynamite’ Star Tracy Letts Talks ‘Reality’ of Netflix Film

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

“A House of Dynamite” star Tracy Letts fears we may be cooked.

“Consider the possibility. There are a couple of existential crises we’re facing. So we should probably consider what that means if, maybe not in your lifetime, but your kid’s lifetime or whatever. What happens if we’re just all fucking done?” said the Pulitzer-winning playwright and character actor extraordinaire, who plays General Anthony Brady in the new political thriller directed by Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow. The film provides a chilling look at what could happen if a nuclear missile were launched at the United States.

Letts sits outside with IndieWire on the patio of a West Hollywood hotel, finally taking a breather after an intensive two days that saw him open his play “Mary Page Marlowe” at the Old Vic Theatre in London, wake up at 6 a.m. the next day to fly 14 hours to Los Angeles, and attend two screenings of “A House of Dynamite,” including its Los Angeles premiere. But even before it became the most-watched film on Netflix in one week, Letts was already happy with how audiences responded. “People seem to dig the movie, people are liking it, which is cool,” he said. “Or if they’re not, they’re not telling me, which is probably wise.”

'Terrifier 3'

Before he landed on what the film’s message may be, Letts signed on to “A House of Dynamite” simply “because it was a Kathryn project. And then when I read the script and saw the role she had in mind for me, that didn’t make it less interesting to me,” he said. “Everything about it for me was just ‘Go, go, go.’ I didn’t have any hesitation.” Though he identifies most with playing dad to the titular role in “Lady Bird” (“I’m a guy who likes to sit and read the paper and let the women make all the decisions”), the military role still felt close to home in a sense. “I’m a general and giving orders and that voice of authority, I can do it. They’re probably all just impersonations of my dad or whatever, but I can do it,” he said. Though “anybody who knows me knows I’m an old softy.”

Early questions Letts had for director Bigelow included “Is he George C. Scott in ‘Dr. Strangelove’? Is he a [war] hawk?” As he would later learn from his interactions with real-life generals advising him on his performance, there’s little time to discuss politics with only 18 minutes until a major American city is about to be wiped out by a missile. “He’s really just talking game theory. ‘If you do this, then they do that. If you don’t do this, then they might do that.’ It’s game theory. He just puts it out there for the president’s consideration. I was comfortable with all that because the argument made sense to me,” he said.

Again, Letts had access to multiple three- and four-star generals who had sat in STRATCOM, running through scenarios like the one seen in “A House of Dynamite.” He walked away impressed. “Those guys know their job intimately,” he said. “They drill [those scenarios] 400 times a year. So they’re very practiced at it. And the objective in the moment of crisis is a simple one. Collect information, pass information up the line.” If anything, it is the efficiency and clearheadedness of his character in particular that makes “A House of Dynamite” all the more terrifying.

“The scenario it presents is scarily plausible. There aren’t a lot of things that happen that couldn’t happen. It’s not a Martian who appears, right? This is not science fiction. This is just next to reality,” said Letts. “If you’re going to make that kind of movie, you can’t miss on some of the technical details. All that stuff’s got to be right.”

That all starts with the screenplay from Oscar nominee Noah Oppenheim, who, as the previous head of NBC News, has rubbed elbows with many of the players who would be involved in a National Security emergency. “People get mad at me if I make light of research,” said Letts, but “you do what you need to do. And certainly in a case like this where so much of the research has been done for you, which the dramaturgy is on the page, the research has been done, it’s been vetted, re-vetted, they surrounded me with all of the context I would need in order to be able to pretend with authority, which is all the job really entails as an actor. To be able to get a good haircut and put on the uniform and walk out on set and know the lines, hopefully, and be able to deliver them with some authority, [and] to deliver that language in a way that feels natural.”

Going through those motions, informed by all that research, the film proved to Letts that Americans “are not as prepared as we think.” He added, “This movie shows a scenario in which everything kind of goes right. The government’s functioning pretty well. Not all of the equipment necessarily functions the way we would want it to, but I think they even quote at one point that those [Ground-Based Interceptors] are supposed to be functioning at a 61 percent success rate, but even that’s under ideal circumstances.”

In the world of “A House of Dynamite,” “Everybody in the government is functioning well and thoughtfully, that’s if everybody is accepting the gravity of the moment and doing their jobs well.” And the President of the United States, played by Idris Elba, seems sensible. “Imagine a scenario in which he’s maybe not all the way there, or perhaps even manifestly irresponsible. Then it becomes a much scarier consideration,” said Letts.

Ultimately, “we’ve built a machine, a very complicated device. If all the parts function properly inside that device, if everything works the way it’s supposed to work, civilization’s over,” said the star of what his new film illuminates. “What if we just reconsider the machine entirely?” Letts mentions that he has been recently asked about a shot of Lincoln’s bust in “A House of Dynamite” and what that may invoke, something that also stood out to him the first time he saw the film.

“Of course, you immediately think about the presidents who have risen to the moment, those that haven’t,” he said. “But the second time watching it was like, ‘Oh, none of that matters.’ Civilization is wiped out. President? Meaningless. It doesn’t matter. It’s all gone.”

“Kathryn won’t cop to this,” but “artists are starting to grapple with this idea of what does it mean if we’re really done here?” said Letts. He uses Thomas Vinterberg’s recent series “Families Like Ours,” about Denmark being evacuated in response to climate change, as another example. These projects provide the warnings that, if not heeded, prove “it’s not going to get better. It’s only getting worse.”

With all that said, the actual experience making “A House of Dynamite” was still enjoyable. “It’s an ensemble piece. Everybody’s chipping in to help where they can, which is the nice thing about it,” said Letts. “There’s nobody who’s the obvious kind of awards player. It’s like we don’t have to do that. So everybody’s there for the right reasons. It’s just all Kathryn, Kathryn, Kathryn.”

Having now worked with Bigelow on her first film in nearly a decade, reminiscent of her other work like “The Hurt Locker” and “Zero Dark Thirty,” which both received Academy recognition, Letts is more excited at the thought of the director dipping even further back into her oeuvre. “I’m old. I remember seeing ‘Near Dark’ in the movie theater very well. And so I think of Kathryn as more varied than just this kind of documentary/military [style]. I know that she’s got more tools,” he said. “I hope she goes back to that stuff, frankly. I heard the word ‘Western’ at some point. I’d be thrilled if that were a reality.”

Letts himself has recently developed a reputation as the King of Physical Media, boasting of a collection of around 11,000 DVDs, so there is a slight irony in his latest film being distributed by a streaming service. “There will come a moment where I get to hold my hand up to say, ‘We should have this 4K available too,’” he joked, also campaigning for director David Fincher’s Netflix films, and Martin Scorsese’s Apple film “Killers of the Flower Moon” to release physical 4K copies.

However the film has made him feel about the world, Letts’ best experience with “A House of Dynamite” has been seeing it in a theater. “To have that Volker Bertelmann score just vibrating your sternum, and in a way sort of telling you when to breathe, or how to breathe throughout the movie, I just don’t think it’s going to play the same at home as it is on the big screen. So I hope people check it out in the movie theater.

“A House of Dynamite” is now out in select theaters nationwide and streaming on Netflix.

Jennifer Lawrence On Not Sharing Her Politics, Talking About Trump

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has reconsidered sharing her politics on the world stage.

The previously outspoken actress, who recently reflected on finding her past interviews and public persona “annoying,” told the New York Times in a sprawling Q&A that her stance on discussing her political takes have also shifted.

While discussing Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic One Battle After Another, the Die My Love star and executive producer said “it’s a good idea. It’s not a bad idea,” later clarifying she meant the “revolution” depicted in the Leonardo DiCaprio-starring drama.

When asked how the multi-hyphenate feels about speaking out now, she said, “I don’t really know if I should. During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But as we’ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. So then what am I doing? I’m just sharing my opinion on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart.”

Lawrence also said she wanted to avoid turning audiences off from her work, or projects in general that could educate viewers: “I think I’m in a complicated recalibration because I’m also an artist. I don’t want to start turning people off to films and to art that could change consciousness or change the world because they don’t like my political opinions. I want to protect my craft so that you can still get lost in what I’m doing. And if I can’t say something that’s going to speak to some kind of peace or lowering the temperature or some sort of solution, I don’t want to be a part of the problem. I don’t want to make the problem worse.”

Clarifying if she feels “regret” for how she approached political topics before, the No Hard Feelings star said, “Probably? I regret everything I’ve ever done or said. I’m going to take the zip drives out of all of these cameras when I leave. The second term feels different. Because he said what he was going to do. We knew what he did for four years. He was very clear. And that’s what we chose.”

Lawrence can soon be seen in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love, bowing in theaters Nov. 7. Next up, she will star in and produce murder mystery film The Wives for Apple Original Films. Most recently, Deadline exclusively announced she will be partnering with filmmaker Martin Scorsese and reuniting with former co-star DiCaprio on an adaptation of the ghost story novel What Happens at Night, also at Apple.

Bye bye Tcheky Karyo 😔

Nia DaCosta on Changing Depths of Field in the Cinematography

Nia DaCosta on Changing Depths of Field in the Cinematography

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Hedda Gabler, as played by Tessa Thompson in “Hedda,” is a mercurial being in the way that Greek gods are. Writer/director Nia DaCosta wanted the audience to see the process of how she decides to meddle in the affairs of mortals — aka the guests at the party she’s throwing to boost her husband George’s (Tom Bateman) career prospects. But DaCosta also wanted to stay true to her reading of the character: Hedda doesn’t even know why she does what she does, or necessarily knows that she is going to act until she’s already unlocking her father’s pistol case.

Much of the enticing capriciousness of Hedda comes from Thompson’s performance, of course.  But DaCosta and her cinematographer Sean Bobbitt also put their thumbs on the scales when it comes to bringing Hedda’s desires to the fore. The film uses playful visual techniques and some innovative technology to bring the viewer inside Hedda’s volatile, passionate perspective.

Tracy Letts at Netflix's 'A House of Dynamite' premiere held at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on October 09, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

One tool used in several key shots throughout the film — or, as DaCosta put it on a recent episode of the Filmmaker Toolkit Podcast, the moments of gear shift — is the Cinefade. “It’s something that’s continually getting developed, and it essentially controls the amount of light that goes into the camera,” DaCosta told IndieWire. “You have the background distorting and changing and the depth-of-field shifts, but everything else stays the same. It’s sort of like a contrazoom but it’s more subtle.”

As any fan of the Innie/Outie elevator on “Severance” (or, you know, that one shot in “Jaws”) is well aware, a contrazoom is an in-camera effect that induces a sense of visual vertigo. The camera moves in one direction as the zoom lens moves in the opposite, leaving the subject of the shot caught in the shifting depth of field like a toy boat as the tide rolls out. The Cinefade allows for the depth of field in a shot to change without distorting the subject’s face, by controlling the light coming into the camera. In “Hedda,” the result looks like nothing so much as a spark of mischief occurring to the mistress of the house.

In one notable sequence, the changing depth of field keys the viewer into Hedda’s inner world when she sees Eileen (Nina Hoss) from across the dance floor. DaCosta and Bobbitt frame the moment so that nothing in the shot is larger or more centered than these two women are, suddenly locked into seeing each other. Hedda seems to float towards Eileen, as the whole party warps around her, care of a double dolly (putting both the camera and the actor on tracks).

“We do it on the double dolly, which — was it invented by Scorsese? But then obviously [it] was popularized by Spike Lee. It’s a shot that I love and I thought, ‘OK, how do I want to get [Hedda] across the room?’ Because I know I didn’t want her to walk. I wanted her to be pulled by her heart. I wanted to have these moments in the film that feel outside of reality, and that was one of them,” DaCosta said.

There is still an emotional reality that even these moments are grounded in, however. DaCosta told IndieWire that her choices, from the behavior of the camera to the costumes, are all about finding visual ways to express an understanding of the characters to the viewer that the characters themselves might never articulate.

“Sean’s a very curious, exploratory, interested collaborator, and he’s so focused on emotion and story, so that really helps, too,” DaCosta said. “[We’re] really trying to filter everything through character and not reference other films as much as we can, but reference other forms of art — painting, photography. There’s a lot of conversations, and Sean said this the other day, like, every director’s different, but the more you talk to them, the more they talk, the more they tell you what they want.”

For DaCosta and Bobbitt, they worked out what they wanted in rehearsals inside the already set-dressed English manor house where the story is set. “I’ll have these ideas, and it’s a lot of what ifs. What if we did a contrazoom but instead of distance and focal length, that was about light and f-stop, you know? We built a new rig, essentially, because I was like, ‘what if we took the head of the Trinity [camera stabilizer] and got rid of the post but put it right on the body, and then we have this really cool thing that looks amazing,’” DaCosta said.

Hedda herself would demand nothing less than a film that looks amazing and keeps the audience on their toes. Bobbitt’s and DaCosta’s camera choices give the protagonist exactly what she wants.

“Hedda” is now streaming on Prime Video.
