Five Year-Old Cancer Patient’s Rap Song With NBA YoungBoy Goes Viral

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

YoungBoy Never Broke Again helped make a terminally ill child’s dream come true by collaborating with him on his first official musical release, which has since gone viral amid a groundswell of support.

Keontae McKinnon, a five-year-old boy and avid Hip-Hop fan from San Antonio, TX, battling Stage 4 cancer, requested that he record and release a rap song as his last wish in light of his worsening medical condition.

King Kyle Lee, a local artist and leader of the Anti Bullying Gang, helped make McKinnon’s hope turn into a reality, bringing a make-shift recording studio to the young wordsmith’s hospital room to lay down vocals for his track.

However, little did McKinnon know that his song would also feature an appearance from his favorite rapper, YoungBoy Never Broke Again. McKinnon, who raps under the name NBATAE, even received a call from NBA YoungBoy himself, who complimented him on his rap name while giving him words of encouragement and support.

In a clip shared on social media, Lee played a recording of the Baton Rouge native sending McKinnon his regards, with McKinnon visibly excited by YoungBoy’s message.

“What’s happening soldier, it’s YoungBoy,” he told McKinnon. “How you feeling over there, fatt? I hope you’re holding up, man. Stay strong. And I like your rap name. It’s cool.”

The song, “Keontae’s Final Wish,” finds NBATAE rhyming over a revamped version of The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Victory” instrumental, delivering lyrics expressing his gratitude for his family and his refusal to give up on life, despite his deteriorating health.

“Mommy praying hard/ Daddy right by my side,” the East Side representative says at the beginning of the song before launching into a verse packed with nods to his perseverance.

“Keontae in the ring, gotta lion in his chest/ Facing big battles, so I never take a rest/ Stage 4, nah, that don’t define the kid/ Fire in his soul from the life that he lives,” he raps with swaggering confidence.

Shouting out his brothers, sister, and grandmother, NBATAE remains stoic, conveying his relentless attitude and the sacrifices made by his loved ones with each word spat.

“They all working hard for me/ I love them, my family/ Every single time, they’ll not give up on me/ Not at all, you not gon’ give up on me.”

In the accompanying music video, NBATAE, clad in a San Antonio Spurs jersey and shades, is wheeled around his neighborhood while surrounded by a throng of supporters, immediate and extended family.

“Keontae’s Final Wish” has quickly become a viral sensation, with McKinnon’s charisma, strength, and talent captivating social media users and earning him fans across the country and beyond.

Currently available on streaming platforms, and racking up radio spins, “Keontae’s Final Wish” is a reminder that Hip-Hop is at its best when it comes from the heart and resonates at the core.

Blue Bendy have shared their first single since the release of debut album So Medieval last year. “Poke” is produced by Balázs Altsach, and you can listen to it below.

Maybe with a pinch of salt.”

“Poke” is also the first Blue Bendy song to feature the band’s new members, bassist Dina Willcock and drummer Tristan Petsola. They round out a sextet also featuring Arthur Nolan, guitarist Oliver Nolan, pianist and synthesizer player Olivia Morgan, and guitarist Joseph Nash. See the band’s upcoming tour dates below.

Expedition 33’ orchestral concert tour confirmed

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 composer Lorien Testard has confirmed plans for an orchestral concert tour.

Earlier this year, the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack topped the Billboard Classic Album Chart, a vinyl boxset was confirmed while a live performance of ‘Alicia’ from the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase went viral.

Now composer Lorian Testard has confirmed a concert tour is in the works.

A statement from live entertainment production company Bleu Citron Tournées read: “Following the release of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and its original soundtrack, we are incredibly excited to announce a unique co-production for the launch of the official French concert series!”

The French gigs will be produced by Bleu Citron Tournées in collaboration with game developers Sandfall Interactive. Both Testard and vocalist Alice Duport-Percier will be involved in the gigs, as will the Curieux Orchestra.

“We are so honoured to be able to bring you our plans for the official regional concerts in France soon, with the potential to explore international dates in 2026,” they added.

Dates and ticket details will be revealed in the near future.

Speaking about creating the soundtrack, Testard told Gamesradar+ that he “tried not to listen to other soundtracks while working on Clair Obscur.”

“But I’ve loved video game music and listened to a lot of it when I was younger – Zelda, Xenoblade, Nier, and Joe Hisaishi (Studio Ghibli) along with all the French music I’ve grown up with,” he continued. “That music has been part of my life for years, so it’s shaped the way I hear and write music.”

It’s also been confirmed that a Clair Obscur: Expedition movie adaptation is in the works.

Last week, Clair Obscur developers teased a sequel as well as an expansion. Creator Guillaume Broche revealed that Clair Obscur is the “franchise name,” and Expedition 33 is just “one of the stories that we want to tell in this franchise.”

“Exactly what [the sequel] will look like and what the concept will be is still too soon to announce, but what is sure is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise,” he added.

In other news, the rumoured Call Of Duty live-action film adaptation has finally been confirmed and will reportedly be inspired by Top Gun: Maverick.

Lady Gaga Drops 'The Dead Dance' Ahead of 'Wednesday' Pt. 2: Listen

Lady Gaga Drops ‘The Dead Dance’ Ahead of ‘Wednesday’ Pt. 2: Listen

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Get ready to do the Dead Dance. On Wednesday, Lady Gaga officially released her infectious soundtrack contribution to Wednesday Season Two, titled “The Dead Dance,” which she (and the Netflix show) have been teasing for weeks. The song was written by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and Henry Walter, and produced by Gaga, Watt, and Cirkut.

“When you killed me inside, that’s when I came alive,” sings Gaga on the soaring pop track, which features a serious dance-ready beat. “You’ve created a creature of the night/ Now I’m haunting your air, your soul, your eyes.” Listen here.

Gaga is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Wednesday as the character Rosaline Rotwood. She made an appearance at the Wednesday preview event and at a Spotify-Netflix event last week to celebrate the release. Fans got to hear the song for the first time during the event.

Along with “The Dead Dance,” by Gaga, the soundtrack for Wednesday Season Two, Part Two features songs such as “Miss You” by the Rapture, “Walk Don’t Run” by the Surfaris, and “Boombayah” by Blackpink, among other tracks. Part Two for the second season of Wednesday arrives, naturally, on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 3 a.m. ET via Netflix.

Netflix shared a photo of Gaga in her role over the weekend, showing her in a white gown with long white-blonde hair and matching eyebrows. She’s accompanied by Thing, who is perched on her shoulder.

“I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday Season Two, even just being a small part of the show. I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna, and everyone here, it’s so incredible. Thank you,” she told the crowd at the Wednesday Season Two premiere. “I’m also here to confirm my song ‘The Dead Dance’ is coming.”

Variety reported last year that Lady Gaga would make a cameo appearance in Season Two. It was reported that producers were aiming for Gaga to join the show in a larger capacity, but ultimately settled for a more limited appearance.

Trending Stories

“The Dead Dance” is Gaga’s first release since March’s Mayhem, which featured singles “Disease” and “Abracadabra,” along with “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars. “I wanted to traverse old ground while breaking new ground, which I think is hard to do,” she told Rolling Stone of the LP. “There are a few moments on the album where some people might say, ‘Oh, that reminds me of this,’ because I do have a style, but I made an effort musically to push myself to a new place.”

The singer is currently traveling on her Mayhem Ball Tour. She will stop in Miami on Wednesday night, return briefly to New York City, then continue to Chicago and Toronto before heading to Europe for shows in October and November.

Young Thug Says He Bought $50,000 of Streams for Gunna’s ‘DS4EVER’

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Alleged phone calls made from jail by Young Thug have been leaked in recent days, as the YSL honcho faces snitching allegations stemming from a 2015 conversation with authorities surrounding a Lil Wayne tour bus shooting.

Thugger continues to distance himself from Gunna, who was released nearly two years before Thug after reaching an Alford plea deal in the YSL RICO case in December 2022, as Thug believes his mentee snitched on him.

One recent alleged jail phone call involving Thug found him claiming that he paid $50,000 for streams to help Gunna’s DS4EVER album debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM in 2022.

“Like, the No. 1 album you just had right now, I paid for you to have the No. 1 album,” he said.
”You didn’t honestly earn a No. 1 album over The Weeknd, my boy. I paid for that sh–. I never said anything to him.
I never told him that.”

He continued: “We just got the plug on that. You never earned a No. 1 album.
I spent 50 extra grand buying motherf—ing streams for you.”

Gunna earned his second No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200 in January 2022 in a tight race against The Weeknd. DS4EVER launched with 150,300 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 13, according to Luminate.

The album’s first-week sales figure was nearly entirely comprised of streaming. SEA units comprised 144,600 (equaling 193.5 million on-demand official streams), while album sales held 4,700 and TEA units comprised 1,000.

It was also the most-streamed album that week and Gunna added a Drake collaboration titled “P Power” to the project’s track list on the final tracking day. DS4EVER was on sale for $7.99 on the iTunes store and could be purchased digitally on his website for $4.

As for The Weeknd, Dawn FM bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 148,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 13, according to Luminate.

Of the total, SEA units made up 131,300 (equaling 173.04 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs), while album sales bested Gunna’s total with 14,800 and TEA units comprised 1,900.

Billboard has reached out to Luminate for comment.

Please Don’t Destroy Splits as John Higgins Leaves SNL

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Please Don’t Destroy will no longer be operating as a trio on Saturday Night Live, as John Higgins has announced his decision to leave the show, where he’s been working as a writer since 2021. The other two PDD members, Ben Marshall and Martin Herlihy, will remain with the series — Marshall moving to a featured player role in the cast, while Herlihy will continue as a writer.

On Instagram, Higgins explained his decision to leave the show to focus on acting, saying that:

“I can’t believe how lucky I was to be a part of this show. It was my dream and I got to live it. And to do it with my two best friends and my dad was an unbelievable experience. Thank you to everyone who made my time there so special, it made this decision that much harder. But for now, I’m excited to pursue acting opportunities that I’ll announce soon but today I’m just grateful for everything we got to do. As that fat lil bear Winnie the Pooh once said, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

Vulture reports that this doesn’t mean the end for Please Don’t Destroy as a group, with the three comedians continuing their current tour together as well as developing new movie ideas. Their first film, Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, premiered on Peacock in 2023.

This news comes as the latest update on the SNL Season 51 cast, which has so far seen Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim, and Devon Walker exit while four new fresh faces join as featured players alongside Marshall. For now, let’s look back on PDD’s now-final SNL sketch from the Season 50 finale, featuring Scarlett Johansson and Bad Bunny.

August Alsina Confirms Zu Is His Boyfriend And He’s Never Groomed Him

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

August Alsina and his partner Zu are no longer leaving fans to guess the nature of their relationship as the two are officially a couple.

The R&B singer first raised eyebrows back in 2022 when he introduced Zu as his “love” during his appearance on VH1’s Surreal Life. At the time, many took it as Alsina’s way of “coming out,” though the pair never quite defined their relationship publicly.

Still, the signs of a romance were there as they didn’t shy away from matching fits, cozy photos together, joint music ventures and even intimately posing together for Alsina’s Encina Wellness brand.

Following a recent appearance during ATL Pride Weekend event at Opium club, Zu decided to clarify their relationship after murmurs of when they met began looming on social media. Many began speculating that August began dating Zu while he was a minor, and according to the rapper, that simply isn’t true.

“August is my boyfriend,” Zu wrote in a lengthy IG Story post. “This my first and only time addressing this, I don’t give a f**k about any external validation whatsoever. I don’t need anyone’s likeness, but I’m a grown a** man, with his own mind and free will… if I ever do anything it’s because I want to do it.”

Zu addressed the timeline of their relationship, shutting down claims about when they first crossed paths. “I met August when I was already of age, an adult. Aug didn’t even know me when I was 16 or 17… not sure where that came from. Yea, there’s a slight age difference but y’all pick and choose who to judge when it comes to that.”

“We will have known each other for 5 years toward the end of the year, so he’s speaking in future terms because that’s where we plan to make it.”

He also shared that they kept quiet about their relationship for so long because it was about keeping the peace. “I know I’m not an internet person and prioritize my peace before anything, and protect my relationship, because the media at times can seep in and tarnish beautiful dynamics… but I can see how being quiet, and trying to protect something of value to you, can allow some people to spin the narrative and create a bunch of different scenarios which aren’t true.”

“Aug gives me a GREAT life, & I’m thankful,” he added, praising his man. “What y’all don’t know is, that I run this relationship…I call the shots, August just shows up and supports me in whatever I want to do. He supports my dream, He IS A DREAM!”

iamlazu/instagram screenshot

Moments later, Alsina hopped on X to echo his partner’s sentiments and shut down the critics, reaffirming their love and the facts of how they met.

Responding to one X user who defended their relationship, he wrote online, “Ni**as be so desperate to project their unhappiness and spin a narrative, it’s truly a reflection of the deeply unhealed inner-child.” In another post he jokingly capped his stance with, “Signed -a closeted nigxa.. cus why u as a grown a** man, worried bout another grown man dixk!”

Exactly! & the even crazier part is that Zu lied to me about how old he was when we first clicked up. Granted, he was over 18… but the fact still remains. & I found out later, upon meeting the family. BUT this is information that would require me throwing my nigxa under the bus,… https://t.co/SKVtEVH1rq

Sabrina Carpenter: Man’s Best Friend Album Review

Sabrina Carpenter: Man’s Best Friend Album Review

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Historians will say it was “Espresso” that did it, but Sabrina Carpenter’s ascent to pop’s A-list truly began with “Nonsense.” At each stop on her tour behind 2022’s Emails I Can’t Send, Carpenter performed the song with a bespoke bonus verse incorporating a local shoutout and a sexual innuendo. “Water ain’t the only thing I swallow,” she sang to a Chicago crowd that October. By January, “Nonsense” graduated from also-ran to the album’s only charting single, and Sabrina Carpenter as we now know her had arrived: witty, itty-bitty, a little smutty, dolled up like a powder-blue Peggy Lee. Now Carpenter is beloved by the classic pop constituencies (teen girls and gay men), while classic rock’s powers that be hold her in an esteem second only to Olivia Rodrigo. After nearly a decade in the para-Disney machinery, she’s understandably eager to keep a good thing going.

BRAT may have dominated the conversation in 2024, but it was Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet that truly achieved ubiquity: At one point, its singles “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” and “Espresso” occupied Nos. 2, 3, and 4 on the Hot 100. Man’s Best Friend arrives a year later, almost to the day, with comparatively little pomp. Its only single, “Manchild,” is sneakily endearing, like an explicit needlepoint you’ve passed in the hallway a few dozen times before bothering to stop and read. “Fuck my life,” Carpenter coos oh-so-sweetly, “Won’t you let an innocent woman be?” On Short n’ Sweet, she raided the costume closet—a Riviera disco diva’s sunnies, a sheer Y2K minidress, a dubiously authentic Pennsylvania twang—to find the one that best suited her. Delivering formally classic, facepalm-clever pop songs on a timetable unseen since Rihanna’s heyday, Man’s Best Friend takes the Sabrina persona to its apex, and maybe as far as it can go.

When Carpenter sings about sex with men, misandry begets horniness, which begets misandry. “Stranger danger” refers to when he’s not that into you anymore; fantasies of pregnancy remain blissfully immaterial. As she goes slackjawed over a man’s basic competence—“Assemble a chair from IKEA, I’m like, ‘Uhhh’”—“Tears” boogies to a fidgety strain of nu-disco pulled from the two-year window between Diana Ross’ Diana and Evelyn “Champagne” King’s Get Loose. Late-album highlight “House Tour” namedrops Chips Ahoy! in the midst of Carpenter’s lavishly long-winded and none-too-subtle metaphor: “Yeah, I spent a little fortune on the waxed floors/We can be a little reckless ’cause it’s insured.” It’s Madonna drag reverse-engineered through Madonna’s imitators—the exact sort of kitsch, reference-to-a-reference move that ought to signal just how serious Carpenter isn’t.

Jordan Peele’s post-‘Nope’ horror film removed from Universal’s 2026 schedule

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Jordan Peele‘s highly anticipated next project has been removed from Universal Pictures’ 2026 release schedule.

  • READ MORE: ‘Nope’ review: say yes to Jordan Peele’s genre-hopping comedy-horror

The currently untitled horror film – which will serve as the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2022’s Nope, and will mark the filmmaker’s return to directing after four years – was most recently slated for a release sometime around Halloween next year.

Now, however, it has been reported via Variety that Universal Pictures has removed it from its 2026 release schedule, and has yet to set a new date for the film. The film was first meant to premiere around Christmas last year, but was put on pause in 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood.

The film was then pushed to October 23, 2026, but has been removed from Universal’s roster. According to Variety‘s sources, Peele is still working on the project, and has yet to begin the filming process.

Details surrounding the film, including its cast and premise, have yet to be made public, though Peele opened up about the project at the start of last year, calling it his “favourite” of all his works so far.

After a successful career in comedy, Peele made his directorial debut with 2017’s Get Out, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and numerous other nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Peel then produced  BlacKkKlansman in 2017, before returning to directing and writing for the acclaimed horror movies Us (2019) and Nope (2022), reuniting with Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya for the latter. He also co-wrote the 2021 sequel to 1992’s Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta.

He has since produced two films – Monkey Man and HIM – via his Monkeypaw production company, and is rumoured to have fired his management team after they were unable to secure producer rights for the acclaimed horror film Weapons.

Peele’s last directed film, 2022’s Nope, scored a four-star review from NME: “From the movie’s unpredictability, patterns and motifs emerge; something as simple as the one-word title becomes part mantra, part running joke, part time-keeping metronome. It turns out that Peele’s background as a sketch comedian doesn’t just make him aware of certain genre tropes, or able to inject humour into tense situations (though both of those things are true). At times, he seems to imply that comedy and horror are both ways of processing the perverse mysteries of the world—and looking at things we shouldn’t be looking at. This also makes Nope a film that rewards repeat watching.”
