Lee Claydon fell from an upper tier at the end of the band’s reunion show on August 2.

Mr Claydon’s inquest was opened at Barnet Coroner’s Court today (September 11) by senior coroner Andrew Walker.

The inquest heard that Mr Claydon, a landscape gardener from Bournemouth, was taken to a medical centre in Wembley after the fall where he was pronounced dead at 10.38pm. Mr Walker said a post-mortem examination on August 6 gave the preliminary medical cause of death as “multiple bodily injuries”, reports BBC News.

Police are reviewing CCTV and mobile phone footage from a substantial number of witnesses, Barnet Coroner’s Court heard. Mr Walker adjourned the adjourned the case to a further pre-inquest hearing on November 19.

Following Mr Claydon’s death, Oasis said in a statement at the time that they were “shocked and saddened” to hear of the news, adding: “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

His father Clive Claydon also paid tribute to his son, describing him as a “a hard-working family man” who “loved his kid”. He added: “He was a lovely bloke, loved to be with his family… He had everything going for him. I am so devastated.”

The Claydons also launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for his family, which is still active and has currently raised over £30,000.

Fans who were at the show said that conditions in the stands “seemed unsafe”, sharing concerns with The Guardian over the allegedly “lax” security and the level of alcohol consumption. The amount of beer being drunk and thrown made the floors slippery, according to those who spoke to the publication.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium told NME at the time: “Wembley Stadium operates to a very high health and safety standard, fully meeting legal requirements for the safety of spectators and staff, and is certified to and compliant with the ISO 45001 standard. We work very closely and collaboratively with all relevant event delivery stakeholders – including event owners, local authorities, the Sports Ground Safety Authority and the police – to deliver events to high standards of safety, security and service for everyone attending or working in the venue.”

Oasis will next play dates in Mexico City before heading back for two extra shows at Wembley Stadium at the end of the month. They go on to play South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil before the end of the year.

The emotive song will appear on Uchis’ Sincerely: P.S. deluxe album

Kali Uchis has shared a new single, “Cry About It!” featuring Ravyn Lenae. The track heralds Uchis’ upcoming Sincerely: P.S. deluxe album, out Sept. 26 via Capitol Records.

The doo-wop-inspired ballad sees Uchis crooning, “Too bad, so sad, you should cry about it/ Llora, llora, hasta que ya te deje de doler/ Too bad, so sad, go cry about it.” Lenae adds her vocals to the chorus. The duo appeared on The Tonight Show to showcase the single live shortly before dropping the track.

Sincerely: P.S. is a follow-up to Uchis’ most recent LP, Sincerely, which dropped in May. The singer announced Sincerely in March with a witchy video she dropped on social media as well as letter she e-mailed to her fans.

In the letter she explained that she would now be signed to Capitol Records following their merger with Interscope. She added that she is still working with the same team behind her last two albums, Red Moon in Venus and Orquídeas. “Thank you all for the well-intentioned wishes on this journey, and thank you to my team,” she said in the letter. “I have boundless gratitude for my silent ascent throughout the years and am very much looking forward to what’s next.”

Uchis recently kicked off her first headlining arena tour. The tour marks Uchis’ biggest to date, traversing 24 cities and stopping at major venues like the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, and Madison Square Garden in New York. It is set to wrap up in late September in in Los Angeles. Trey Songz Settles Sexual Assault Lawsuit Over New Year’s Eve Incident

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Trey Songz has reached a confidential settlement to end a lawsuit claiming he sexually assaulted a woman at a Miami nightclub on New Year’s Eve in 2018.

The R&B singer (Tremaine Neverson) was facing assault and battery claims from Jauhara Jeffries, who alleges Songz non-consensually penetrated her with his fingers while they were dancing at E11even Miami in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2018. Songz denied ever assaulting Jeffries.

The pair had been gearing up to go to trial next month alongside E11even Miami, which was accused in Jeffries’ lawsuit of negligently serving alcohol to Songz despite his public history of substance abuse. But new docket entries in Florida court say Jeffries, Songz and the club have all reached a settlement to end the litigation.

“This court has been advised that the matter has been settled as to all parties and therefore, it is hereby ordered and adjudged that this case is dismissed,” wrote Judge Antonio Arzola on Tuesday (Sept. 9). “The court reserves jurisdiction to enforce the settlement and to enter orders necessary to this enforcement.”

The terms of the settlement have not been made public, as is typical for out-of-court resolutions. Jeffries’ lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, tells Billboard on Wednesday (Sept. 10), “I can only comment that the matter has been resolved.”

Reps for Songz and E11even Miami did not immediately return requests for comment.

Songz has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct over the years. The singer previously settled claims that he assaulted a woman at a Los Angeles house party in 2016, and he’s set to go to trial next year over a separate Las Vegas incident from 2021.

Jeffries first filed her lawsuit in 2020, and it had been scheduled to go to trial in Miami this October before a settlement was reached. The case had been muddled by allegations from Songz’s legal team that Mitchell, Jeffries’ attorney, attempted to bribe a witness into backing her client’s version of the events at E11even Miami.

Mitchell has strongly denied these claims, and Judge Arzola ultimately declined to issue penalties earlier this year after finding that there wasn’t conclusive evidence of bribery in what amounted to a “classic ‘she-said versus she-said’ scenario.”

However, Mitchell is facing disciplinary action from the Florida Bar for falsely telling media outlets, including Billboard, back in 2022, that she’d already been cleared of wrongdoing related to the bribery allegations. In reality, says the Florida Bar, Mitchell was still under investigation at the time of these press comments.

Corridos star Junior H is the latest Mexican artist to receive alleged death threats from a drug cartel ahead of his upcoming tour dates in the region. According to Billboard, the Mexican state of Baja California prosecutor’s office is investigating an ominous banner found at his home.

According to authorities, the banner was found at the Mexican-American artist’s home in the Buena Vista neighborhood of Tijuana, warning him not to perform at the city’s Explanada del Estadio Caliente on November 9th. That concert is currently set as the kick-off show of the Mexican leg of Junior H’s “$AD BOYZ LIVE & BROKEN TOUR.”

The Baja California prosecutor’s office has said authorities “will provide full security” if Junior H decides to still play the show. His team has declined to give an official statement.

This isn’t the first time a popular corridos singer has received death threats from Tijuana drug cartels. In 2023, Peso Pluma was forced to cancel six shows in Mexico. Earlier this year, Grupo Firme canceled a performance in Sinaloa after a similar banner appeared in their hometown.

Junior H is currently on the US leg of his tour, which is set for upcoming stops in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. Get tickets to remaining dates here.

STARZ Announces Lead Cast Of ‘Power: Origins’

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

On Wednesday (Sept. 10), STARZ announced the co-leads of its new prequel series, Power: Origins.

Spence Moore — best known for roles in Creed III and Brilliant Minds — will play Ghost while Charlie Mann — who’s best known for roles in The Watchers and Virdee — will play Tommy. The adult versions of their characters were brilliantly portrayed by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora, respectively, in the original Power (2014-2020).

Power: Origins centers around the adolescent Ghost and Tommy as “ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City.” Described by the network as a “fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period,” Origins will also “highlight the unbridled audacity of young men not just leveling up, but determined to become legends in the game.”

STARZ

It was previously announced that MeKai Curtis, star of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, will reprise his role as Kanan Stark in this highly-anticipated prequel. Joseph Sikora has expressed interest in reprising his role but in the form of a narrator as 50 Cent does on Raising Kanan. However, that has not been confirmed.

“I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the Power Universe’s founding fathers,” said Sascha Penn, showrunner, writer and executive producer, in a statement when the 18-episode order was announced back in July. “Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.”

The pilot episode of Origins will be co-written by Penn and Power franchise creator, Courtney A. Kemp.

First announced in March 2024, Power: Origins marks the fourth spinoff in the Power franchise — preceded by Power Book II: Ghost, which concluded following its fourth season in 2024 and Raising Kanan, which will end with its fifth season. Power Book IV: Force will debut its third and final season on Nov. 7.

james K: Friend Album Review

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Though she’s an established collaborator in New York’s experimental and club scenes, Jamie Krasner’s solo work as james K has always felt much more hermetic. Her collagist style holds complicated emotions in dreamy suspense, conjuring a zone apart where she alone controls the weather. Swerving between dusky trip-hop, pummeling shoegaze, and hazy ambience, her music captures fraught feelings in queasy panoramas. Her prior albums, 2016’s PET and 2022’s Random Girl, contained their shimmer and chaos like freshly shaken snow globes, leaving Krasner’s presence only half-discernable beneath flurries of synths and industrial squall. The moments when the air cleared were spellbinding, though it felt like only a matter of time before she again slipped out of view.

The third james K album, Friend, is remarkable enough as a piece of pop craftsmanship, but its real achievement is in how beautifully Krasner is able to chart a path from her private realm into our own. She distills the musical eclecticism of her earlier work into a crystalline interpretation of dream pop, using the surface blur and forward motion to keep weighty ideas in flight. Her production is still suffused with mist, but it’s grown bigger, brighter, and more fun. The pillowy atmosphere supporting her voice now has a rapidly shifting and dynamic ground floor beneath it, one that veers from drum’n’bass to downtempo, IDM to G-funk. With some slight tweaks, the musician preserves the signature hazy dream logic of her lyricism while coming more fully into her own complications.

Unlike her prior albums, which were self-produced, Krasner developed Friend alongside a clutch of collaborators including Patrick Holland (aka Project Pablo), Priori, ex-terrestrial, Ben Bondy, and the Berlin-based Special Guest DJ. With their help, she manages to give her music a new cinematic sweep and propulsion. “Blinkmoth (July Mix)” begins at a whisper and conjures a full horizon. Modulating a gasping, processed sample of her voice so that it runs parallel with the dusky house beat, Krasner creates a stuttering vocal hook that’s almost indistinguishable from the peal of an electric guitar. As the song builds to a head, she reminds you of her ear for texture by barreling into the already panoramic sound with the sort of aqueous, side-long guitar solo that Alex Scally uses to light up the best Beach House songs.

Krasner’s facility for reverb-drenched instrumentals makes comparisons to the greats of shoegaze and dream pop inevitable. But she also has an easy intimacy to her singing that evokes Dido or Sarah McLachlan and could have made her a trillionaire in the Starbucks CD economy. This is a quality used sparingly on previous releases, but what’s brilliant about Friend is how clear and direct of a presence Krasner is. A song like “On God” ranks among her most full-on pop moments: Krasner pirouettes through a crush of reverbed guitar while weighing deep questions about trust and faith. Her lyrics and delivery are cryptic but conversational, the existential ponderings of a slightly stoned best friend. “Doom Bikini” turns Krasner’s introversion inside out, weaving daydreams and anxiety into a tapestry celebrating an overactive life of the mind. Her sly sense of humor is written all over the song, which peaks with the sudden whine of a G-funk synth, another wild flare-up from her imagination.

The HYBE x Geffen global girl group released the video yesterday (September 10) to celebrate the track, which is taken off their latest mini-album ‘Beautiful Chaos’.

The clip sees the six-piece group pulling up to a convenience store in separate vehicles, before convening in a parking lot to strut their stuff and hang out. The clip is shot DIY-style, relying on effects that makes it look like the girls are filming themselves on retro cameras.

Check out the full visualiser below.

The visualiser’s release comes shortly after the group’s triumphant night at the 2025 MTV VMAs earlier this week, where they performed two songs on the pre-show. First, KATSEYE kicked things off with the smash hit ‘Gnarly’, which NME named as one of our Songs of the Summer. Later, KATSEYE returned for another pre-show performance, this time turning in a rendition of ‘Gabriela’.

During the main award show, KATSEYE won the MTV Push Performance of the Year award for 2024’s ‘Touch’, marking their first-ever VMA win. Lara thanked their fans in a passionate speech: “This is so crazy. Thank you all so much, this is all very new to us. This is our first time ever doing this. We’ve been through a lot together so having this moment feels so rewarding and everything has paid off.”

Elsewhere at the 2025 MTV VMAs, Rosé and Bruno Mars won Song Of The Year for ‘APT.’ and BLACKPINK were crowned Best Group, while Lisa‘s ‘Born Again’ with Doja Cat and RAYE won Best K-pop.

LE SSERAFIM Delivers ‘HOT’ Performance as ‘AGT’ Reveals Semifinalists

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Trust LE SSERAFIM to crank the heat.

The South Korean girl group strutted their stuff on the America’s Got Talent stage Wednesday night (Sept. 10), for a two-song showcase.

The pop outfit took a pause from the US leg of their EASY CRAZY HOT world tour for a breezy, three-minute medley of “HOT” (English version) and “ANTIFRAGILE.”

Afterwards, bandmate Huh Yunjin took the mic to share some advice for the AGT hopefuls. “Whatever the outcome, it’s all a part of you,” she remarked. “So what matters is the passion that brought you here. I hope that that stays with you forever. We’re all rooting for you. You guys are so talented and it’s been an honour to share the stage with you.”

Earlier this year, the ensemble scored its second No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart as HOT debuted atop the tally. That feat marked LE SSERAFIM’s fifth top 10 in total for the group, which previously reached No. 1 with its last chart entry, 2024’s Crazy.

A sixth top 10 might not be far off. New music is said to be coming next month.

While LE SSERAFIM turned up the temperature, ten AGT performers were already sweating on the results of the final Quarterfinal.

After Tuesday night’s live round, America voted, the results were tallied, and tonight, the winners and eliminations were confirmed.

Of the eleven acts, seven would go home and the top three would advance to the Semifinal.

Those top three acts are Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, TT Boys and Zak Mirz, respectively, all of whom stay in the competition. As previously reported, Team Recycled head direct to the Finals after winning Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer.

The podium finishers will compete with eight others that moved ahead in NBC’s talent show via America’s vote in the previous quarterfinals. They are Chris Turner, Jessica Sanchez, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, LightWire, Bay Melnick Virgolino, Leo High School Choir, and Unreal Crew.

Next up, the Semifinal on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and the chance to nab the Semifinal Golden Buzzer.
The winner of AGT, now in its 20th season, wins a $1 million grand prize.

Spinal Tap II Review: A Legacy Sequel Worthy of This Band’s Legacy
Music

Rob Reiner Directs a Worthy Sequel

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

In the 41 years since This Is Spinal Tap was released, David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) have experienced no shortage of career highs and lows, playing major festivals before splitting up, seemingly for good, over a decade ago. However, the music industry loves a comeback story. So director Marty DiBergi (played by actual director Rob Reiner) is back to document the boys with Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, a movie covering the preparations for an epic reunion concert — one that could maybe heal the festering wounds that led to the band’s split in the first place.

Spinal Tap II is not exactly a movie you would describe as being plot-heavy. To say it has much in the way of forward momentum would be inaccurate — despite the countdown to their big show looming, there’s not much tension about whether they’ll make it to the stage or be a success. And yet it still stands out as a deeply enjoyable viewing experience, and a singular one: It’s a movie about older men looking back at their lives and the relationships that have defined them, in a way that’s only possible after at least five decades of real-life friendship.

That aforementioned lack of momentum doesn’t end up being too big an issue, largely because Spinal Tap II clocks in at 83 minutes (just a minute longer than the original). It’s just the right length, allowing us to leisurely enjoy the process of Marty visiting all three of the original band members: Since the band broke up, David’s developed a talent for writing and composing hold music, Derek got mixed up in some bad crypto business, and Nigel’s developed a real passion for cheese, opening his own cheese and guitars shop. (You can trade cheese for a guitar, or a guitar for some cheese. Nigel’s got a whole system for figuring it out.)

Related Video

Then, the trio eventually (and awkwardly) reunite in New Orleans to prepare for the big show, which involves finding a new keyboardist (C. J. Vanston, a longtime real-life collaborator of Guest’s) — and of course, a new drummer. That’s the band’s toughest challenge in the early stages, given how we learn early on in the movie that Spinal Tap’s grand total of deceased drummers now goes to 11 (seriously!).

This leads to a Zoom-powered merry-go-round moment where Questlove, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lars Ulrich all pass on the gig (all three men demonstrating some solid chops when it comes to deadpan delivery), followed by the discovery of Didi Crockett (Valerie Franco), who fucking slays, frankly — thanks to both her incredible drumming skills and her positive attitude.

Franco’s not given a lot of heavy-duty comedy to perform, but as Didi, she brings such joy and energy to the screen, while also bashing the drums like they were responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade. Her credits in real life include performing with artists like Halsey and Kylie Minogue and doing a week-long fill-in gig for Fred Armisen on The Late Show with Seth Meyers. In a just world, Spinal Tap II will break her out in a huge way.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (Bleeker Street)

There have been enough legacy sequels like this for us all to be familiar with their traps and pitfalls, which Spinal Tap II largely manages to avoid. The biggest potential concern I had as a viewer was watching the movie attempt to get anywhere close to recapturing the iconic, culture-shifting magic of “This one goes to 11,” a mountain the movie thankfully does not try to summit.

That being said, there is an intimate interview sequence between Nigel and Marty with a deeply silly reveal that had me giggling for many minutes. No catchphrases emerge from it, but that doesn’t negate the power of two legendary comedic talents reminding us all how skilled they are at playing a moment. It’s one of many delightful beats played out for just the right amount of time, escalated with laser-sharp precision.

The music still rocks, too, with new tracks like “Rockin’ In the Urn” proving as catchy as they are funny. Okay, “Hell Toupee” might fall more into the category of silliness, but “Let’s Just Rock Again,” “The Devil’s Just Not Getting Old,” and even little improvised ditties like “NOLA House Song” reaffirm that Guest, McKean, and Shearer’s musical talents have not faded with age.

As for the real-life musicians who appear as themselves in the movie, Spinal Tap II proves the power of quality over quantity. Rather than share the screen (and pad the screen time) with countless appearances from famous folk who would undoubtedly be honored to make a cameo, the movie gives us a glorious extended sequence in which Paul McCartney sits in on a studio session with the lads — much to David’s annoyance — even jamming on “Cups and Cakes” with them. (“Cups and Cakes” being one of two songs from the original This Is Spinal Tap album to not be featured in the first movie.)

Spinal Tap 2 Review The End Continues

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (Bleeker Street)

Also, no spoilers for what happens with him, but Elton John’s role in the film is also larger than anticipated. Most importantly, he proves exceptionally game for committing fully to the concept of Spinal Tap being a real band, one he’s honored to play with.

It all builds to a point, towards the later half of the movie, where it all started to feel so overwhelmingly real. Without question, McKean, Shearer, and Guest are all playing fictional characters in a fictional band — but when they’re improvising both musically and comedically in character with real-life rock stars, after decades of playing together as these characters… It almost feels like slipping into another universe.

It’s a feeling enhanced by the way that Reiner leans hard into documentary technique for a lot of the filming, especially during the climatic concert: You can see the many cameras on stage capturing the performances from different angles, with band members occasionally looking directly into the lens as they wail on guitar, just like they did in the 1984 film. Maybe it’s the fact that when the band’s music is that good, it makes the band itself feel genuine. The magic Pinocchio was looking for the whole time.

But another factor could be that Spinal Tap II holds onto the real sense that these men, despite everything they’ve been through, have loved each other almost their entire lives. Guest and McKean in particular met in college in the late 1960s, and they’ve been playing music together ever since; there’s something beautiful about the fact that they’ve found their way to this moment, after so many decades — one where the only laughter they care about is each other’s. The audience laughing as well? That’s just a bonus. It’s also happily guaranteed.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues rocks its way into theaters on September 12th. Check out the trailer below.
