What to Wear With Black Jeans Beyond a White T-Shirt and Sneakers

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Want to know what to wear with black jeans? The truth is, everything is possible.

Black jeans are the ultimate versatile closet staple, but that means they can also sometimes feel like the default “I don’t know what to wear” choice. For fall and winter 2025, it’s time to give this classic piece the styling upgrade it deserves.

While a white T-shirt and sneakers will always be dependable fallbacks when it comes to styling black jeans, why not use this opportunity to try something new? Lean into unexpected textures, bold silhouettes, and power accessories that can make black denim feel more intentional and less like an afterthought. Pair them with a structured blazer and metallic heels for a polished edge, or go full off-duty model with an oversized leather jacket and sleek loafers. Want to play with proportions? Balance baggy jeans with a second-skin top, or tuck them into knee-high boots for that effortless “cool girl” effect.

The key to knowing how to style black jeans is in details that make a statement. Layer on gold jewelry, mix in rich fabrics like satin or mesh, and don’t shy away from color—black jeans are the perfect foundation for a bold red sweater or an electric blue coat.

Want more outfit ideas? Read on for the ultimate guide to what to wear with black jeans.

For an everyday outfit that feels stylish without trying too hard, pair your black denim with:

  • A classic T-shirt or bodysuit. A jet black T-shirt or bodysuit with black pants makes for an effortlessly cool combo that works in any season. To keep things interesting, choose something in an unexpected cut.
  • Sneakers or loafers. Keep it comfy with neutral sneakers in dark tones or elevate the look with polished loafers. If you want a more playful touch to the look, a bright shoe or laces can be a fun pop of color against dark straight-leg jeans.
  • A cozy knit or cool-girl jacket. Add a layer to give the outfit another source of visual interest. A lightweight cardigan or sweater is perfect for a cozier vibe, while a bomber jacket adds a touch of street style edge. A denim jacket in classic blues adds a nice visual contrast, while a suede jacket or trench coat can give a black jeans outfit a more polished vibe.

Jack White, Daughter Scarlett White at Paris Fashion Week

Jack White has fully stepped into the 21st century.

Just a few months after getting his first cell phone The White Stripes frontman reached another major milestone: making his TikTok debut. And he did so at the behest of his and ex-wife Karen Elson’s daughter Scarlett, 19.

In the Oct. 4 video shared by Scarlett—which she captioned “Meet the Parents”— the model stands in the middle of her parents before pressing record on the video as Prince’s “When Doves Cry” plays. As Jack stands with his arms cross slowly dancing and smirking, Karen and Scarlett lip-synch the words while they dance.

Giving the world a look at exactly how long it took the trio to get the perfect shot, Scarlett wrote alongside the video, “this was the 20th take.”

For his part, the “Seven Nation Army” singer—who also shares son Henry, 18, with Karen—used the video to congratulate his daughter after she made her Paris Fashion Week debut walking in the Ann Demeulemeester’s presentation Oct. 4.

As one of the most recognizable names in hip-hop, Sean “Diddy” Combs—better known as P. Diddy—established a star-studded network across the music, film, fashion, and business worlds. His influence was unmatched in the late ’90s and 2000s, when he began hosting his famously extravagant White Parties—exclusive, star-studded events defined by a strict all-white dress code and no shortage of luxury.

In a 2006 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Diddy explained that the purpose was to “strip away everyone’s image and put us all in the same color, on the same level.” Martha Stewart, who attended the inaugural party, called it a “stunning sight.”

Initially held in the Hamptons, the White Party became one of the most coveted invites in entertainment until it paused in 2009. But now, in 2025, Diddy is in federal custody in New York as his highly publicized trial on charges of sex sex trafficking and racketeering gets underway. With additional civil lawsuits accusing him of abuse and misconduct, public interest in those iconic parties—and the celebrity circles that surrounded them—resurfaced in 2025.

Below, find out which celebrities attended the white parties.

Paris Hilton once reflected on the parties, saying, “I remember the first party he threw in the Hamptons. It was iconic, and everyone was there.”

Watch Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White Discuss Their New Movie on Kimmel

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Last night (October 2), both Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White sat down on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss their respective work careers and where those paths now cross: the upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. During the TV show segment, White talked about what it was like to portray the Boss while Springsteen watched him on set, Springsteen talked about his upcoming Nebraska ’82 box set with the long-rumored electric version of the album, and more. Watch it go down below.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theaters on October 24. The film follows Springsteen during the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska. The movie also stars Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager; Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin; Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Bruce Springsteen’s father, Doug; Odessa Young as a love interest name Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mother, Adele; and David Krumholtz as Columbia Records executive Al Teller.

Long sought-after by fans, Electric Nebraska is the informal title of the album that Springsteen and the E Street Band recorded in 1982 from a collection of demos for his follow-up to The River. Preferring his originals, Springsteen ended up scrapping the full-band versions and instead released the stripped-down versions we now know as Nebraska – with a few electric songs being held back to appear on the later release Born in the U.S.A. Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition arrives October 17 via Sony.

Read Mark Richardson’s review of Nebraska and see where the album lands in “The 200 Best Albums of the 1980s.

CBGB Festival Grew Venue's Legacy with Iggy Pop, Jack White

CBGB Festival Grew Venue’s Legacy with Iggy Pop, Jack White

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s easy to get a little cynical about the very concept of CBGB Fest. When one of the side stages — the Young Punks Stage — is presented by Ed Hardy, it’s even easier. Is corporate integration and brand licensing really “punk?” Surely someone else can write that dissertation. Besides, the idea of counter culture in 2025, where monoculture is so fragmented it barely even exists, is rarely decoupled from capitalism.

So, is gathering a bunch of punk fans something to really diminish because they’re taking pictures in front of a replica CBGB awning? Let them rock, we say. And hey, at least the original bar and wall segments on display were real.

For sure, the inaugural edition of the festival at Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn, New York, had its issues. Although beverage stands were abundant, the food options were insufficient; you cannot expect four food trucks and two little stands to comfortably feed a festival crowd, and just about everyone had to deal with brutal wait times. But if we’re judging on the music alone, CBGB Fest knocked it out of the park — and it was the Godfather of Punk himself who put an exclamation point on the daylong event with a phenomenal set.

Related Video

At 78 years old, Iggy Pop is still one of the greatest live acts on Earth, and he proved that tenfold with his headlining performance. Taking the main CBGB Stage at 9:30 p.m., Iggy and his band tore right into the Stooges classic “TV Eye” — just about 20 minutes North West from the Brooklyn venue named after the song. With his skin weathered and leathered, and a twisted spine from all the damage he’s done to himself onstage over the years, Iggy is punk personified.

More Stooges gems followed, like “Raw Power,” “Gimme Danger,” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” as well as solo favorites like “The Passenger,” eliciting a “la, la, la, la” sing-along from the packed crowd, and “Lust for Life,” with the audience soaking it all in under a light rain coming down in between the cover of the Kosciuszko Bridge above.

Backed by a very cool band, including the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner on guitar, Iggy sounded as great as ever. And seeing the greatest living punk headlining a festival honoring the most iconic punk venue of all time gave off a very historic vibe, even in real time.

The brief drizzle during Iggy’s set was the only wet weather on a day that was comfortably overcast and mild. Which is good thing, considering the festival’s biggest sin: The “water station” — that place every festival has to offer free refills to keep attendees hydrated and safe, usually while reducing waste — was no more than a table handing out 8 oz. plastic bottles of water and someone yelling, “One per person!” A lack of NA beers felt lazy; the water situation felt like an afterthought.

Thankfully, those waiting in the ridiculous food lines at least were right next to the Young Punks Stage, which featured many of the day’s best sets. Former CoSigns Pinkshift, buzzy British band Lambrini Girls, rising Cali punks Scowl, and everyone’s favorite kids-turned-pros The Linda Lindas all brought truly deafening energy to the small stage. Having it tucked in the smaller courtyard Under the K Bridge gave it a fittingly intimate feeling — not as intimate as a tiny Bowery bar, sure, but close enough that Pinkshift and Lambrini Girls were able to control the crowd into joyful moshing.

Many of those Young Punks either took part in signings at the nearby Marshall tent or met with fans waiting by the side stage rails after sets. That amplified the community feeling of the event, and true monoculture or not, punk has always been a community. Above all else — even above the transcendent Iggy Pop performance, the exhilarating Jack White set, The Damned’s UK punk classics, and Johnny Marr’s Smiths-friendly setlist — that’s what felt most CBGB about CBGB Fest. People were there to have a good time and catch some great music; while more care could have been given to the comfort of attendees, the fans brought enough positivity that the gathering was largely successful.

Not even the delay on the mini-amphitheater Hilly’s Stage (YNWH Nailgun’s set was at least 20 minutes late, pushing back much of the afternoon — but worth the wait for vocalist Zack Borzone’s bizarro energy and drummer Sam Pickard’s percussive creativity) could dampen the mood. It was over on that stage that fans witnessed throwback performances from such acts as Cro-Mags, Marky Ramone, and Murphy’s Law — whose set included a surprise appearance by Jesse Malin, recovering from a spinal stroke he suffered two years ago that left him paralyzed from the waist down — offering the most old-school CBGB vibes of any of the stages throughout the day.

If organizers can figure out how to throw a truly sturdy festival Under the K Bridge, which would include fixing a few sound issues and overhauling their approach to concessions, CBGB Fest could easily turn into a landmark annual gathering. The location is great (they certainly have the physical space to make those adjustments), the bookings were unimpeachable, and the audience was open to it all. Who knows if it will fall to the slop and licensing complexities that CBGB is infamous for, but for one day, the grimy spirit of the Bowery felt alive under a Brooklyn bridge.

Jeremy Allen White Has Read the Script for ‘The Social Network’ Sequel

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

The 63rd New York Film Festival brought The Boss to Alice Tully Hall for the NYC premiere of “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.” Jeremy Allen White transforms into iconic rocker Bruce Springsteen for the biopic, which is set in the early ’80s during the recordings of “Born in the USA” and “Nebraska,” and co-stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann, and Odessa Young.

We caught up with White on the red carpet, who will soon go into production for the sequel to “The Social Network,” titled “The Social Reckoning.” “I have read the script, but I can’t tell you anything,” White told IndieWire. As for whether he has connected with writer and director Aaron Sorkin, White said, “Yeah, of course.” He will also reunite with Strong in this film. “I feel like every October Jeremy and I should do a movie together,” he joked.

Last week we asked Andrew Garfield, star of the first film, if there was any chance he would return for this one. “No, no,” Garfield told IndieWire. “Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time.” And is the actor excited to eventually see it? “Oh yeah.”

The film will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside White and Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, Mikey Madison and Bill Burr will also star. Sorkin’s original screenplay for the film tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

But Sunday night at NYFF was all about all things Springsteen. In David Ehrlich’s review for “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” he writes that it “is a semi-desolate sketch of a biopic about a depressed 32-year-old man who channel surfs across a much better movie on TV one night in the fall of 1981. The man is Bruce Springsteen (a possessed Jeremy Allen White), the movie is Terrence Malick’s “Badlands,” and its story of a Korean War vet who takes his 15-year-old girlfriend on a killing spree across the American heartland gives the wayward rock god a newfound sense of direction that just might save his life.”

It is the latest musical biopic starring an in-demand rising actor: “A Complete Unknown” landed a slew of Academy noms, including a Best Actor nod for Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan. The four-part Beatles biopic is also in the works, with Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.

20th Century Studios will release “Deliver Me from Nowhere” in theaters on Friday, October 24. Check out the trailer here.

Makena White was just 28 when she died. The Canada native, who was pro golfer Jake Knapp‘s girlfriend of two years, suddenly passed away in September 2025, and fans of the couple were shocked at the news, which was shared by her friend to Instagram.

“Hi everyone – this is Makena’s friend, writing with the heaviest heart to share that Makena passed away earlier this week,” the announcement read. “She is already so deeply missed by her dad, her family, her friends, and of course by Nelly and Fergie.”

Describing Makena as “one of a kind,” her friend added that she “had this rare way of making you feel special, and her huge heart was always overflowing with love.”

“To be loved by Makena was a gift; one that came with endless laughter, so much joy, and a healthy sprinkling of chaos as we tried to keep up with her travel schedule,” the caption continued. “If you would like to honour Makena’s memory, donations to the Bruyère Brain Health & Memory Clinic or the Griffin Bell Endowment Fund would mean a lot. We love you Mak. We’ll miss you always, and we’ll be looking for you in the sunset.”

CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis commented under the Instagram post. She wrote, “Getting to know Makena was one of my favorite parts of this last year. So much laughter, passion and she never met a stranger. I will miss her light… it touched so many.”
