bitchy | Princess Kate & Melania Trump’s Scouts event featured terrible fashion & honey

Earlier today, King Charles and Camilla did a formal “goodbye” to Donald and Melania Trump. Camilla and Melania had their own separate event where Cam showed Mel some stuff from the Windsor library and archives. Then the group of four did their goodbye portraits, and Droopyface Don’s right hand was once again spackled with off-color makeup. Don went off for meetings with Keir Starmer while Melania stayed behind for her event with the Princess of Wales. It’s endlessly amusing to me that Kate was given more responsibility than her husband for this state visit!! Anyway, Kate and Mel met with a Scouts troop in Frogmore Gardens. It apparently went well:

In a historic first, Kate Middleton stepped out on her own without other senior members of the royal family to host first lady Melania Trump for a joint outing.

After Melania toured Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle with Queen Camilla, the first lady joined the Princess of Wales, 43, in Frogmore Gardens. There, they met Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields, and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program who were learning about nature to achieve their “Go Wild” badge. The women joined a group of 4- to 6-year-olds as the children created artwork. At one table, children pressed inked leaves onto paper, adding illustrations.

“This is beautiful!” the first lady, 55, said as she joined in, filling in a bear outline with a brown marker and adding a sun and grass with yellow and green markers, guided by the children.

Princess Kate sat on the grass nearby, speaking with the children about their art. A small girl took Trump’s hand and led her to another table, where the children were building “bug hotels” from cardboard and tubes.

“Show me how, what I should do,” Trump said. When asked her favorite bug, she replied: “A ladybug.”

Princess Kate and the first lady also joined the children in a lively game with a parachute full of balls, laughing as the kids scrambled underneath to push them out. Kate arranged a special packed lunch for the children, featuring sandwiches made with honey from her Norfolk home at Anmer Hall. Trump contributed her own sweet touch, gifting each child a jar of White House honey.

[From People]

“In a historic first” – they’re just openly lying, because they don’t want to remind everyone of Kate’s 2022 event with Dr. Jill Biden, when Kate made an ass out of herself in like ten different ways. It’s also sad to consider that Kate is a 43-year-old princess who has been in the Firm for fourteen-plus years, and she’s only done “solo events” with first ladies twice in that time.

As for the fashion… Melania looks like she’s doing a “safari” photoshoot for catalogue (not a magazine). Kate looked INSANE. The boots with the skirt with the pussybow blouse with the cropped jacket?? Man, Natasha Archer really was keeping Kate from her worst instincts. Kate absolutely needs to invest in a real stylist, because there’s no reason for her to walk out of the house looking like this.

bitchy | Princess Kate wore Phillipa Lepley to the Trumps’ state banquet in Windsor

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Here are some photos from the state banquet at Windsor Castle last night. The staging looked (to my eyes) almost identical to the Macrons’ state visit and banquet several months ago. The biggest difference might have been the Prince and Princess of Wales, both of whom seemed extra-keen to show off their statesmanship. Like the Macron visit, Will and Kate posed for their own stand-alone portrait in their finery too. They did that because King Charles and Queen Camilla didn’t include the Waleses in the formal portraits with the Trumps, taken before the banquet.

Kate got to buy a new dress for the occasion: a cream-and-gold gown by Phillipa Lepley. I’m pretty sure this is only the second time Kate has worn this British designer, after Kate famously wore a Lepley gown during the Caribbean Flop Tour of 2022. I actually like the idea of this dress – a cream or white gown with a lace “coat” overlay. Valentino famously did a great version of this with delicate black lace. The Lepley design would have looked better without the lace turtleneck, and it really should have been more like a “coat.” Kate also wore the Lovers Knot Tiara, one of the tiaras she consistently gets to borrow.

Interestingly, William changed up his look for the state banquet. At the Macron banquet, William apparently threw a hissy fit about wearing the “Windsor uniform” for white-tie banquets, the special tailcoat with a red collar and cuffs. Previously, William just wore a normal black jacket. For this banquet, he actually wore the Windsor coat. Harry’s visit really put the fear of god into poor pitiful Peg.

As for Melania Trump, she wore an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress in canary yellow. A strange choice for a state dinner, where most first ladies or important women would do more “diplomatic-dressing.” Like, Mel could have showcased a young American designer or a British designer or worn something flaggy, with stars or stripes. Instead, she just went for “LOOK AT ME!” Camilla wore a blue Fiona Clare gown which I swear I’ve seen like a dozen times before. Recycling! She paired it with the Belgian Sapphire Tiara. She’s been doing a sapphire theme for this state visit and I have no idea why.

bitchy | Royalist: The Windsors ‘debased’ themselves for Donald Trump’s state visit

Bad news? I think they’ve pumped so many drugs into Donald Trump, he now looks somewhat healthier than King Charles. I would feel bad about saying that, except I remember Charles’s courtiers running around, briefing the press about Joe Biden’s age several years ago. Charles was pissed that President Biden didn’t go to the coronation, remember that? So Charles made it all about Biden’s age and health. Now Charles has been receiving cancer treatments for nineteen months and his mealy pallor makes Trump look hale and hearty.

Of course, there are plenty of other parts to this state visit which are pretty disgusting. Trump is being feted and celebrated like a conquering king. He’s a pathetic authoritarian hellbent on destroying NATO, the European Union and all postwar societal, cultural and economic advancements. I don’t exactly blame Charles and the royals for this – this was decided by Downing Street and Keir Starmer’s government, to roll out the red carpet this way for Trump. But that didn’t stop Tom Sykes from going OFF on his Royalist Substack, in a piece called “Britain Grovels Before Trump, Shamefully Enabling This Sick, Destructive Man.” An excerpt:

The United Kingdom shamelessly prostrated itself at the feet of Donald Trump on Wednesday morning, throwing a welcoming party for his state visit at Windsor so lavish it looked less like diplomacy than ritual self-humiliation. No foreign leader has ever been greeted with this degree of ceremonial excess. The choreography was on the scale of Elizabeth II’s funeral, yet this was not grief but a spectacle, a genuflection staged for a man many Britons see as a wrecking ball aimed at the very post-war settlement the country once helped design.

To those watching with clear eyes, it was nauseating. There was at least a grim honesty in the absurdity. Trump demands spectacle, and Britain, desperate to please, delivers. He wants to be king; Britain obliges.

But in obliging, the U.K. reveals something darker about itself: that to keep America close, it will debase itself utterly, strip its traditions for parts, and hire out its monarch like a sex worker to soothe the vanity of a man who insists on being treated as sovereign.

Royal ceremony is theatre, but this was a theatre that revealed far more than a sovereign nation should about its craven need to please a foreign leader who has done nothing to help Britain and plenty to harm it.

[From The Royalist Substack]

Yeah, I agree with all of that. It’s pathetic on both sides – Trump is a global embarrassment, and America will likely never recover from any of this. But I don’t hold it against the UK for doing what they can to stay on Trump’s good side. In fact, I think Starmer and many other European leaders have figured out their own ways to manipulate Trump and/or work around him. This is part of how they do that – they play to his vanity, they treat him like the most delicate and superficial strongman ever, because that’s exactly what he is.

bitchy | The right side of Donald Trump’s face noticeably drooped at the 9/11 memorial

Here are some photos of Donald Trump on 9/11. Some of the pics are from the White House, where he spoke to reporters gathered outside. I’m also including some photos of Trump in New York, where he attended the annual memorial event at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. In the White House pics, you can see that Trump was already in a sorry state physically, but as the lengthy memorial service wore on in New York, the right side of Trump’s face began drooping quite noticeably, like the effects of a stroke.

It’s a reminder that we still don’t know WTF happened with Trump in that week where he went missing, partially over the course of Labor Day weekend. He had no public events, and MAGA World was churning through old photos and trying to pass them off as new. Trump eventually did a proof-of-life press conference (last week), but he still looked quite unwell.

Additionally, the White House released a completely bizarre video of “Trump” speaking from the Oval Office after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. This absolutely looks like AI or a deepfake or whatever you call it. Trump’s fingers disappear and reappear, the proportion of his head and body seems “off” and the whole thing has a creepy uncanny valley vibe.

Donald Trump is expected to attend the men’s final of the US Open in Queens, New York, on Sunday, and the United States Tennis Association has asked broadcasters to censor any protests that may be heard over the air.

“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity,” the USTA said in a memo sent to broadcasters including ESPN, according to The Athletic.

Trump was a regular presence at the US Open before entering politics. His most recent appearance came in 2015, when, as a presidential candidate, he was loudly booed by the crowd.

Kim Kardashian has questioned US President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Kim Kardashian has questioned Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration

The 44-year-old reality star has previously met with Trump at the White House to discuss criminal justice reform but is disappointed by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ramping up raids as part of the President’s anti-immigration policies.

Speaking in Venice on Thursday (28.08.25) at Diane Von Furstenberg’s DVF Awards, where she was honoured for her prison reform advocacy, Kim told Variety: “In the news you hear, ‘Oh, it’s about people who have committed these crimes and they’re trying to help out our country.’

“But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected.

“People I know. People my friends know.”

The Kardashians star continued: “You want to believe that there’s a powerful message in protection, but then you see that it’s not really happening like that.

“It’s really tough, but I think that we have to do what we can to protect the people that have really supported and built our country.”

Kim had previously slammed ICE raids in Los Angeles in June and suggested that there “has to be a better way” to tackle illegal immigration after the raids sparked mass protests.

She wrote on Instagram: “When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals – great. But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.

“Growing up in LA, I’ve seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbours, friends, classmates, co-workers and family.

“No matter where you fall politically, it’s clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants. We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.”

Meanwhile, Kardashian revealed in Venice that she would consider returning to the White House in an attempt to facilitate the release of Erik and Lyle Menendez – who were both denied parole recently after spending over 30 years in prison for the 1989 murder of their parents.

She said: “I would love to.

“(The Menendez brothers) are in a state prison so the governor is really in charge of that decision, but I would go to any administration and any White House to fight for the rights of people I believe in.”
