Jimmy Kimmel Says ‘Something’s Fishy’ About Trump’s Sudden Change on Epstein Files

by jummy84 November 19, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Jimmy Kimmel expressed skepticism about Donald Trump’s sudden support for releasing the Epstein files, suggesting there may be ulterior motives behind the shift.
  • Kimmel noted that despite an overwhelming House vote to release the files, Trump and the Department of Justice could still withhold information.
  • He also criticized Trump for calling a female reporter “piggy” when questioned about the Epstein files, highlighting the lack of media attention to the incident.

Jimmy Kimmel has suspicions about Donald Trump‘s sudden change of heart regarding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, saying on Tuesday’s (November 18) Jimmy Kimmel Live! that “something’s fishy.”

During his opening monologue, the late-night host spoke about the House voting 427-1 to release the Epstein files on Tuesday, just days after the President shifted his stance and urged Congress to pass the petition that would allow for the release of the files.

“The goal was to have the bill pass by such a large margin that Trump can’t put his little orange thumb on the scale and give it the old Cheeto veto,” Kimmel said. “But make no mistake: This isn’t over. He’s not giving up easily. If anyone thinks he’s gonna release all the Epstein files, I’ve got a beautiful East Wing of the White House to sell you.”

Kimmel added that even after “an almost unanimous vote,” Trump and his “cronies in the Department of Justice” could still withhold information under the guise of protecting ongoing investigations and national security.

“The DOJ can withhold entire documents, photos, and/or video,” he continued. “But they would never do anything like that, would they? They’re sworn to protect the Constitution of the United States!”

“Something’s fishy,” Kimmel stated. “Trump rolled over faster than that dog Ghislaine Maxwell gets to play with in her country club prison.”

Kimmel was referencing Maxwell, a known associate of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for grooming underage girls for the disgraced financier. In August, she was moved to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas, not long after she claimed she “never witnessed” Trump in “any inappropriate setting.”

Elsewhere in his monologue, Kimmel touched on Trump snapping at a reporter aboard Air Force One on Friday. In a viral clip, Trump told a female reporter, “Quiet, piggy,” after she asked a question about the Epstein files.

“He said ‘Quiet, piggy’ to a reporter, and it barely made the news,” Kimmel said. “If a man spoke like that to a female coworker in a workplace harassment training video, you’d go, ‘Ah, that’s over the top. Nobody would do that.’ If the pilot on Air Force One behaved like the President, he wouldn’t be allowed to fly the plane!”

You can watch Kimmel’s full opening monologue above and let us know your thoughts below.

Sydney Sweeney on Trump’s Reaction to Her American Eagle Ad: ‘It Was Surreal’

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the past year, Sydney Sweeney has starred in two movies and a TV show, and filmed season three of one of the buzziest TV shows of the decade. But it’s her personal life that’s become something of a national obsession. In May, she confirmed she had ended her engagement with her fiancé, Jonathan Davino; around the same time, she released a controversial, limited-edition batch of soaps allegedly made up of her bathwater in collaboration with the men’s brand Dr. Squatch; then, in August, she starred in an ad campaign for American Eagle ad which ignited a national debate.

In the wake of the discourse, the 28-year-old did not address the backlash directly. Instead, social media commentators led the charge—including President Donald Trump. On August 4, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Sweeney had “the hottest ad out there,” and then went on to declare that “being WOKE is for losers,” among other strange claims.

Now, in an interview for GQ’s Men of the Year issue, Sweeney has finally addressed the reactions to the ad, as well as her thoughts on the president’s statement. “It was surreal,” Sweeney said when asked about Trump’s post.

As for the backlash itself, Sweeney said, “I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”

She went on to say that she wasn’t paying much attention to the discourse at its height because she was working such long hours filming Euphoria. “I wasn’t thinking of it like that, of any of it,” she explained. “I kind of just put my phone away. I was filming every day. I’m filming Euphoria, so I’m working 16-hour days and I don’t really bring my phone on set, so I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So I didn’t really see a lot of it.”

As a refresher, in the ad, Sweeney referenced Brooke Shields’s controversial 1980 Calvin Klein jeans ad with a monologue about genes. The campaign tag line for Sweeney’s American Eagle collaboration was “My jeans are blue.” On social media, some claimed that Sweeney, who has stayed mum on her political affiliations for her entire career but is rumored to be a registered Republican, was signaling a belief in the superiority of her genes, specifically blue eyes. The reaction, and then the reaction to the reaction, quickly snowballed on social media and beyond, becoming something of a litmus test for one’s progressive or conservative bonafides.

John Oliver Slams Trump’s ‘Great Gatsby’ Party Amid SNAP Freeze

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

As many celebrated Halloween, the end of the month also marked the suspension of SNAP benefits for many Americans amid the government shutdown.

On Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver called out Donald Trump for continuing to blame the shutdown on Democrats as he went to a Great Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago before his administration froze the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on Nov. 1.

“Yeah, not only is that pretty insulting,” he said. “I’m guessing it’s also pretty infuriating to whatever exhausted high school freshman just wrote a 4,000-word essay about Great Gatsby as a grim meditation on the disillusionment of the American Dream, only for CNN to tell them, ‘You know what? It’s really just a book about rich people partying.’”

Oliver continued, “And for what it’s worth, the actual theme of that event was, and I quote, ‘A Little Party Never Killed Nobody.’ And I guess that is true. Although, it is also true, that as we are all finding out right now, a ‘grand old party’ is capable of killing a whole lot of people, and unfortunately, they don’t seem to give a single marble and gold-encased shit about that.”

The suspension of SNAP benefits to over 42 million Americans by the Trump administration on Nov. 1 has proved to be a political lightning rod during a pretty low-key shutdown. In some of the ugliest examples of the MAGA mindset, the Department of Agriculture has determined in October it can’t use the billions in contingency funds long set aside for SNAP, due to legal considerations.

That decision has led to a series of court challenges by states, cities and others amidst an expected surge at food banks.

Two federal judges this week ruled the administration has to tap into the $6 billion available. However, despite Trump posting late Friday it would be his “honor to provide the funding, just like I did with military and law enforcement pay,” the administration is demanding the courts provide guidance on how to pay out — a process that will still delay SNAP recipients from receiving benefits for weeks in the very best case scenario.

Miles Teller Spoofs ‘Property Brothers’ With Trump’s White House Reno

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Miles Teller pulled double-duty (in a way) by portraying twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott in a pre-taped Saturday Night Live sketch spoofing the Canadian reality TV series Property Brothers. This time, the two real estate property developers field their “biggest challenge yet” — the gargantuan task of having President Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) as a client and being tasked with building the White House ballroom.

But as the siblings attempt to navigate Trump’s increasingly difficult and outlandish requests, they must also deal with the simmering tension and resentment they feel toward each other.

The two begin by touring the premises, noting ironically that Trump has a “strong eye for interior design,” which the GOP leader attributes to his affinity for gauche golden urns, which he puts “everywhere, like a hundred in every room.”

While complimenting Melania Trump’s (Chloe Fineman) Halloween decorations of dead trees, skeletons and other spooky fixtures, the First Lady responds sardonically, “Those are for Christmas.”

Other changes include Trump replacing a portrait of former POTUS FDR with a painting of himself as a soldier from Halo. Meanwhile, upcoming renovation requests include turning the Rose Garden grounds into what looks like “outdoor seating for an Olive Garden,” supplemented by a budget “between $350 million and infinity.”

As the two brothers recall with an uneasy laugh, when asking Trump if he needs a permit, he apparently laughed and told them: “I could build this ballroom with the bones of my enemies, and no one could stop me.”

For his inspiration, Trump points to a mood board that includes, among other images, photos of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Star Wars‘s powerful gangster Jabba the Hutt.

Other reno plans include installing an MMA ring for “two mentally ill guys just wailing on each other … we love bum fights,” Trump says.

After Trump responds to a text with a gif of the White House exploding, the brothers can commence with the East Wing demolition. However, due to the government shutdown, the duo had to “force Park Rangers and astronauts” to carry out the operation. After hitting a snag because all construction workers had been deported, Johnson’s Trump reflects, “I pulled up to the Home Depot parking lot and yelled, ‘Just give me the whites!’ I want the day laborers from Norway and Sweden, but, apparently, they don’t exist.”

“We want this to be our forever home,” Melania says after Trump says he’s preparing for a third term. He then adds, “Yes, because we’re not leaving. We’re gonna be doing something called ‘coup!’”

As the sketch concludes, the brothers ask for payment, at which point Trump responds with calling ICE on them, given that the sibling duo originates from Canada.

Trump’s White House Demolition, Narco Terrorists

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

John Oliver took aim at — who else? — President Trump in the opening segment of Sunday’s Last Week Tonight.

The host started out by showing images of the White House demolition project that Trump has ordered on the East Wing so that he can construct a $250 million ballroom.

“Those images are distressing, especially when you know it’s all to build a giant ballroom in a style best described as ‘Med Spa Versailles,’” Oliver quipped. “And yet, the demolition of the White House, a metaphor that, if anything, is too on the nose, was just the tip of Trump’s iceberg this week.”

Oliver then showed a news report about Trump’s push to get paid $230 million from the Justice Department as compensation for federal investigations into his behavior.

“I should say, Trump has said he’d donate any settlement to, in his words, ‘charity or something,’” Oliver noted. “But incredibly, we’re still not done, because Trump also posted an AI video of himself dumping shit on No Kings protesters, abandoned trade negotiations with Canada after seeing a TV ad he didn’t like and authorized a $20 billion bailout to Argentina to ensure that [their] experiment with libertarianism works out.”

Oliver said the “most shocking” move Trump made in the past week, however, was approving deadly military strikes against boats allegedly smuggling drugs to the United States. So far, 40 “so-called narco terrorists” have been killed, “even though the administration has not provided public evidence for its claims,” Oliver said. “Even if they have some, I’ve watched enough JAG to know [that] the typical approach to drug boats is to intercept them and arrest the suspects, not murder them with no due process, and all of this is bad enough before you learn” that Trump is planning strikes on cartels by land as well.

“Yeah, he apparently plans to launch strikes on suspected drug traffickers in Venezuela without congressional approval, saying, ‘We’re just going to kill people. They’re going to be, like, dead,’” Oliver said, quoting Trump. “You know, the kind of chilling statement you expect to hear from a serial killer or the mastermind behind Panera Bread’s Charged Lemonades, but not ideally the President of the United States.”

Oliver wrapped up his opening segment by noting that his show tapes Saturday, so “who knows what’s happened in the last 24 hours, but this has already been a lot, because between tearing down the White House, trying to use the Justice Department to pay himself and proudly sharing AI footage of him literally shitting on Americans, the president’s now also appointed himself judge, jury and executioner of foreign citizens. And it is infuriating that neither Congress nor the courts seem to be interested in putting a stop to any of this because we are supposed to live in a country of checks and balances.”

Chicago, Illinois Sue To Block Trump’s National Guard Deployment

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Illinois leaders went to court Monday to stop President Donald Trump from sending National Guard troops to Chicago, escalating a clash between Democratic-led states and the Republican administration during an aggressive immigration enforcement operation in the nation’s third-largest city.
The legal challenge came hours after a judge blocked the Guard’s deployment in Portland, Oregon.
The Trump administration has portrayed the cities as war-ravaged and lawless amid the government’s crackdown on illegal immigration. Officials in Illinois and Oregon say military intervention isn’t needed and that federal involvement is inflaming the situation.
The lawsuit alleges that “these advances in President Trump’s long-declared ‘War’ on Chicago and Illinois are unlawful and dangerous.”
“The American people, regardless of where they reside, should not live under the threat of occupation by the United States military, particularly not simply because their city or state leadership has fallen out of a president’s favor,” the lawsuit says.
Governor: Federal wave is an ‘invasion’
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a Democrat, said some 300 of the state’s guard troops were to be federalized and deployed to Chicago, along with 400 others from Texas.
Pritzker said the potential deployment amounted to “Trump’s invasion,” and he called on Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to block it. Abbott pushed back and said the crackdown was needed to protect federal workers who are in the city as part of the president’s increased immigration enforcement.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson confirmed in a weekend statement that Trump authorized using Illinois National Guard members, citing what she called “ongoing violent riots and lawlessness” that local leaders have not quelled.
In Chicago, the sight of armed Border Patrol agents making arrests near famous landmarks amplified concerns from residents already uneasy after an immigration crackdown that began last month. Agents have targeted immigrant-heavy and largely Latino areas.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said Monday that he signed an executive order barring federal immigration agents and others from using city-owned property, such as parking lots, garages and vacant lots, as staging areas for enforcement operations.
Mayor limits protest hours at ICE site
Protesters have frequently rallied near an immigration facility outside the city, and federal officials reported the arrests of 13 protesters on Friday near the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Broadview. Mayor Katrina Thompson, citing safety and other factors, said she was limiting protests to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Elsewhere in the area, the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged that agents shot a woman Saturday on the southwest side of Chicago. The department said it happened after Border Patrol agents patrolling the area were “rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.”
Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said it was reasonable for agents to believe they were being ambushed.
Portland says no crime crisis there
In Portland, U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut on Sunday granted a temporary restraining order sought by Oregon and California to block the deployment of Guard troops from those states to the city.
Immergut, who was appointed by Trump during his first term, seemed incredulous that the president moved to send National Guard troops to Oregon from neighboring California and then from Texas on Sunday, just hours after she had ruled against it the first time.
“Aren’t defendants simply circumventing my order?” she said. “Why is this appropriate?”
Local officials have suggested that many of the president’s claims and social media posts about Portland appear to rely on images from 2020. Five years later, the city has reduced crime, and downtown has seen fewer homeless encampments and more foot traffic.
There has been a sustained and low-level protest outside the Portland ICE facility, but it’s been less disruptive than the downtown clashes of 2020 when demonstrations erupted after George Floyd’s killing.
Most violent crime around the U.S. has actually declined in recent years, including in Portland, where homicides from January through June decreased by 51% to 17 this year compared to the same period in 2024, data shows.
Since the start of his second term, Trump has sent or talked about sending troops to 10 cities, including Baltimore; Memphis, Tennessee; the District of Columbia; New Orleans; and the California cities of Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
A federal judge in September said the administration “willfully” broke federal law by deploying guard troops to Los Angeles over protests about immigration raids.

bitchy | Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted for… being on Trump’s enemies list

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s been nine months and six days of war crimes, federal crimes, state crimes and psychopathy from the second Trump administration. There are new crimes every day, every hour from this administration, to the point where the rule of law has no meaning. The only silver lining is that Trump has hired some of the most incompetent, poorly-trained and stupid people ever. All of which to say, I couldn’t even remember why Trump was mad at James Comey, the former FBI Director who was one of the key players in handing Trump the 2016 election. Comey’s press conference about Hillary Clinton was one of the key events leading into the election’s final weeks. So why is Trump mad? Something about Russia, I guess. In any case, Comey made it onto Trump’s enemies list. On Thursday, Comey was indicted by a federal grand jury.

A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, a culmination of President Trump’s relentless demand for retribution after the bureau investigated his 2016 presidential campaign over possible ties to Russia.

Mr. Comey was indicted on one count of making a false statement and one count of obstruction of a congressional proceeding in connection with his testimony before a Senate committee in September 2020.

The indictment, filed in Alexandria, Va., came over the objection of career prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia who found insufficient evidence to support charges but were overruled by Lindsey Halligan, a Trump loyalist handpicked by the president to run the office a few days ago.

It represents the most significant legal step yet by the Trump administration to harry, punish and humiliate a former official the president identified as an enemy, at the expense of procedural safeguards intended to shield the Justice Department from political interference and personal vendettas.

The bare-bones, two-page indictment was signed only by Ms. Halligan, a former defense lawyer for Mr. Trump who personally presented the case to the jury, despite her lack of any previous prosecutorial experience. Typically such filings are also endorsed by career prosecutors who have gathered the evidence in the case. Court records indicate that Ms. Halligan also tried to get the grand jury to indict Mr. Comey on a second false statement charge, and that it was rejected.

[From The NY Times]

Yeah, I completely understand how bad this is for the “system” and all of that. But A) I f–king despise Comey and he’s a huge reason why we’re in this mess. B) I refuse to see or speak about Comey like he’s a martyr. He’s not – he’s a career bureaucrat who made a conscious choice to tip the scale of public opinion in Trump’s favor, then acted shocked when Trump demanded fealty. C) None of this sh-t is going to hold up in the long run. In 2026 and 2027, when all of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel’s federal cases begin their trials and proceedings, ALL of the cases are going to completely fall apart. That goes for all of the recent high-profile shootings too – the FBI has already been caught manufacturing evidence and tainting potential jury pools. So, whatever. Jim Comey will be fine in the long run, and even if he’s not, I don’t give a sh-t.

🚨 BREAKING: James Comey posts a video statement following his indictment

We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either.… pic.twitter.com/7oisRjWAfK

bitchy | Donald Trump’s ‘presidential walk of fame’ traded a Biden photo for a pic of the autopen

by jummy84 September 25, 2025

Things that genuinely happened this week: Donald Trump could not pronounce “acetaminophen,” the drug he was making wildly false claims about in a White House press conference; Trump’s teleprompter malfunctioned in the middle of his United Nations speech, so he ranted incoherently and told other countries that they’re all going to hell; Trump lied about ending seven wars and he furiously lied about the Trump recession, which is already here; he threatened to deport highly-skilled immigrants working legally in the US on H-1B visas; he threw a tantrum when the UN escalator was turned off and he had to walk up one flight of stairs; he had a statue of himself and Jeffrey Epstein removed from outside the White House; he threw an unhinged tantrum about Jimmy Kimmel’s lifted suspension and openly threatened Kimmel and Disney. And I’m not even mentioning like twenty other ridiculous, demented and catastrophic things connected to Trump just this week.

Well, most normal people would look at a list like that and say “this man is profoundly unwell, we need to put him in some kind of nursing home where he can rant at the television all day.” Trump’s staffers never feel that way though, they continue to humor this despicable and ancient felon. Speaking of, White House staffer (“Special Assistant to the President”) Margo Martin tweeted this video on Wednesday, of the White House’s newly installed Presidential Walk of Fame. It’s an outdoor (???) photo exhibit of past presidents. Instead of including a photo of Joe Biden, Trump and his people used a photo of the autopen.

Again, Donald Trump panic-filled his diaper because he had to walk up a flight of stairs just 24 hours before this video was posted. He ranted about a broken teleprompter and an escalator which was turned off by someone on his own staff. That’s the guy mocking Joe Biden’s presidential capabilities.

bitchy | The Daily Mail sent reporters to Montecito to stalk the Sussexes during Trump’s visit

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Yesterday, we talked about the Duchess of Sussex’s quiet September. Meghan and her As Ever team have only posted a few Instagram pics this month, and there have been no big announcements. Meghan was very quiet while Prince Harry was in the UK and Ukraine, but I expected her to post about all of the lovely Ukrainian gifts Harry brought back. She hasn’t. I did think it was interesting timing when, on Wednesday, As Ever posted a new pic of Meghan. That was in the heat of the Trump state visit. Well, it looks like the Daily Mail also hoped that the Sussexes would do or say something this week. They weren’t content with simply covering the left-behinds as they entertained an orange fascist. No, the Mail sent reporters TO Montecito specifically to stalk the Sussexes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were laying low in Montecito as the rest of his family lived the highest of high life at Wednesday’s State banquet for visiting President Donald Trump and Melania. After weeks in the headlines amid Harry’s recent high-profile visit to London and Meghan basking in the spotlight from her season two launch on Netflix, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were keeping out of sight at their California mansion, Daily Mail can reveal.

The typically spotlight-hungry couple have been uncharacteristically quiet in Montecito this week 5,000-plus miles from where it was all happening in Windsor Castle. As his brother the Prince of Wales dined on boneless free-range chicken wrapped in zucchini – or Ballotine de Poulet Fermier en Robe de Courgettes, as the pretentious French menu termed it – Harry and his wife were nowhere to be seen.

Their retreat is a departure for the Sussexes who have made a habit of upstaging big royal moments with events of their own. Instead, the former Suits actress, 44, has been conspicuous by her absence from social media – nothing but an Instagram post for her husband’s 41st birthday on Monday – and there has been no sign of the couple in their adopted hometown for days after Harry’s return.

Both Meghan and Harry have become a familiar sight in the tony seaside city but appeared to have gone to ground when the Daily Mail visited Montecito this week.

Swank delicatessen Pierre La Fond, where Meghan has previously been photographed, was a Sussex-free zone, as were other favorites such as Lucky’s Steakhouse and upscale boutique Wendy Foster. Even at the sugar sand Miramar Beach – where the pair have been spotted walking their dogs and enjoying surf classes – they were off the radar.

The timing has fueled speculation on whether Harry and Meghan may have been snubbed or are deliberately keeping out of sight to avoid Trump’s wrath.

According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, that’s because the pair are wary of stealing the spotlight from President Trump who has the power to make life difficult for them should he be angered. ‘I’d be surprised if the Sussexes do anything this week that might annoy,’ Fitzwilliams told Daily Mail. ‘The British put on such a ceremonial show. I mean I’ve been watching this. It is amazing and it’s intentionally amazing and intentionally designed to impress President Trump. If the Sussexes made a move that distracted us, as they have from time to time when there been important royal events, it would be not only be outrageous, but it would draw Trump’s eye.’

[From The Daily Mail]

I won’t lie, I’ve been surprised by Meghan’s silence this month too. I wouldn’t mind if she dropped some big announcement, but I understand why she didn’t, just as I understand why Harry and Meghan mostly ignored the orange mess in the UK. Now, I find it absolutely insane that the Daily Mail is openly admitting that they sent reporters to Montecito to stalk all of Harry and Meghan’s favorite spots. It has to be asked for the millionth time: if the left-behinds really are soaking up all of the global attention, why is the British media still obsessively stalking the Sussexes’ every move? Did the Mail’s editors take one look at Kate’s ridiculous doll wig and order their US-based reporters to drive to Montecito forthwith?
