bitchy | Donald Trump blamed the Blue Wave on the government shutdown

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Donald Trump hosted a breakfast meeting with Senate Republicans this morning after the Blue Wave crashed down on his ugly face last night. Democrats scored huge wins across state and local elections around the country. Virginia elected our first-ever female governor and first-in-the-nation Muslim woman to hold state office. Virginians even elected Jay Jones, who was mired in a “scandal” in which he texted that Republicans should just f–king die. I’m so focused on Virginia because there were so many factors here: Northern Virginia is the DC Beltway, with tons of federal workers who have been furloughed because of the government shutdown, or seen DOGE slash their jobs or their departments. Well, as you can imagine, Trump has not taken any of the election results well. Last night, he ranted about “voter reform” and banning mail-in ballots. He also wants to terminate the Senate filibuster. That was a subject he brought up again this morning:

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said the government shutdown played a “big role” in Democrats’ victories Tuesday night and urged Republicans to kill the Senate filibuster to quickly restore federal funding.

“If you read the pollsters, the shutdown was a big factor, negative for the Republicans,” Trump said during a breakfast with Senate Republicans at the White House. “Last night, it was not expected to be a victory, it was very Democrat areas. I don’t think it was good for Republicans. I don’t think it was good for anybody. We had an interesting evening and learned a lot.”

He cited outside pollsters who have attributed the GOP losses to the fact that Trump wasn’t on the ballot, depressing turnout among the MAGA base. “I don’t know about that but I was honored that they said that,” he added.

Trump used his candid autopsy of the election results to urge Republicans to kill the Senate filibuster to quickly reopen the government and then enact their agenda, including a national voter ID requirement. He acknowledged that it’s an unlikely proposition as most Senate Republicans oppose the move but warned that he believes Democrats will do so the next time they’re in power.

“It’s possible you’re not going to do that, and I’m going to go by your wishes,” he said. “You’re very smart people. But I think it’s a tremendous mistake. It would be a tragic mistake, actually.”

On Wednesday, the shutdown stretched into its longest in U.S. history, with the previous 35-day shutdown set during Trump’s first term in 2019. Republican and Democratic lawmakers are locked in a stalemate.

[From Politico]

“If you read the pollsters, the shutdown was a big factor, negative for the Republicans…” I can’t believe Trump is giving the Beltway media a permission structure to talk about how people blame Republicans for the shutdown! The media has worked hand-in-hand with MAGA Republicans to blame the shutdown on “evil Democrats,” but it turns out that voters cut through that noise and placed the blame squarely where it belongs: the Republican Party. The lesson is not “we must stop people from voting and end the filibuster.” The lesson is: if Republicans continue to do sh-tty things, voters will continue to punish them. The whole reason the shutdown is happening is because Trump and MAGA Republicans want to take away people’s healthcare. It really is that f–king simple.

Diddy Allegedly Boasting In Prison That Pardon From President Trump Will Come Early Next Year

Despite what the White House has said, Diddy reportedly believes #PresidentTrump will be the one to set him free.

Sources at the music mogul’s new home, a federal prison in New Jersey, told TMZ that Sean “#Diddy” Combs has allegedly been bragging to fellow inmates that Trump plans to pardon him in early 2026. He’s even promised to “take care” of the friends he’s made behind bars once Trump steps in to end his four-year sentence early, according to insiders. As it stands, Diddy’s official release date is May 8, 2028.

While earlier reports claimed Trump was seriously considering a pardon, the White House publicly denied those rumors in October, stating, “There is zero truth to those claims.” Diddy was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in pro$titution but was acquitted of racketeering and s3x trafficking charges.

Would y’all be surprised if Trump really came through with a pardon?

White House Fully Complying w/ Court Order To Provide Partial SNAP Benefits After Trump
Claims Otherwise

Looks like partial #SNAP benefits will go out this month after all. The #WhiteHouse has confirmed it is “fully complying” with a federal court order to distribute benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) despite earlier statements from #PresidentTrump suggesting otherwise. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters today (Nov. 4) that the administration was following the court order and working to get partial SNAP payments distributed “as quickly as we can.”

The clarification comes after Trump claimed this morning on Truth Social that SNAP benefits “will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government.” Leavitt said Trump simply meant that he “didn’t want to have to keep tapping into an emergency fund and depleting it in the case of a catastrophe in this country.”

Trump ’60 Minutes’ Interview Scores 13.2 Million Viewers

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

President Trump’s edited interview with CBS News‘ “60 Minutes” — a year after he sued the newsmagazine over its editing practices — scored big ratings for the program.

According to preliminary Nielsen data, the Nov. 2 airing of “60 Minutes” featuring a drew 13.2 million viewers, Variety has confirmed. The fast nationals ratings are more reflective of live viewing and the final numbers are likely to change. But that’s a high number for the show, which averaged 8.32 million viewers for the 2024-25 season, according to Nielsen data.

Trump was interviewed by Norah O’Donnell, CBS News senior correspondent and a contributor to “60 Minutes.” It was Trump’s first interview with “60 Minutes” in five years. During the interview, Trump boasted that “’60 Minutes’ paid me a lotta money” and praised the takeover of Paramount by David Ellison’s Skydance Media — but those comments was cut from the edited version that aired on CBS.

“’60 Minutes’ paid me a lotta money,” Trump said. “You don’t have to put this on, because I don’t wanna embarrass you, and I’m sure you’re not – you have a great – I think you have a great, new leader, frankly, who’s the young woman that’s leading your whole enterprise is a great – from what I know,” Trump said. Trump was referring to the Bari Weiss, appointed as editor-in-chief of CBS News last month after Paramount Skydance bought her outlet The Free Press in a $150 million deal.

About Weiss, Trump said, “I don’t know her, but I hear she’s a great person. But ’60 Minutes’ was forced to pay me — a lot of money because they took her answer out that was so bad, it was election-changing, two nights before the election. And they put a new answer in. And they paid me a lot of money for that. You can’t have fake news. You’ve gotta have legit news. And I think that it’s happening.”

Regarding the Ellison family’s acquisition of Paramount, parent of CBS, Trump said, “I see good things happening in the news. I really do. And I think one of the best things to happen is this show and new ownership, CBS and new ownership. I think it’s the greatest thing that’s happened in a long time to a free and open and good press.”

Trump is friendly with Larry Ellison, the ultra-wealthy founder of Oracle. Last month, Trump said, “Larry Ellison is great, and his son David is great. They’re friends of mine. They’re big supporters of mine. They will make the right decisions. They’re going to revitalize CBS — hopefully, they’ll bring it back to its former glory.”

Trump’s claim that “60 Minutes” paid him is not technically correct. In fact, parent company Paramount Global agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit that alleged “60 Minutes” deceptively edited then-VP Kamala Harris’ responses in a manner that damaged Trump. Legal experts said Paramount would easily have won in court and initially Paramount and CBS News sought to have the case tossed. However, previous Paramount controlling shareholder Shari Redstone pushed the company to resolve the case out of court, to pave the way for Skydance Media’s closing the $8 billion acquisition of Paramount Global.

CBS News on Sunday released a transcript of the full 90-minute session with Trump. The interview covered a wide range topics, from international politics to ICE raids in the U.S. to the economy and healthcare police to the federal government shutdown. Much of the interview was devoted to O’Donnell’s questions about the president’s views on geopolitical hot spots and challenges the U.S. faces in dealing with Russia, China, Israel, Venezuela and other unpredictable situations. The interview was recorded Oct. 31 at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Fla.

O’Donnell also questioned Trump about the conflicts of his role as president and his family investments and marketing of Trump-branded crypto currencies. Asked about the Trump family crypto activity, Trump was dismissive. “I can’t say, because– I can’t say– I’m not concerned. I don’t– I’d rather not have you ask the question. But I let you ask it. You just came to me and you said, “Can I ask another question?” And I said, yeah. This is the question–.”

White House Speaks Trump Appears To Threaten Funds

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has spoken out after a social post shared by President Donald Trump appeared to show him threatening to withhold partial SNAP funds.

More On The Social Post Shared By President Donald Trump, Which Appeared To Show Him Threatening To Withhold SNAP Funds

On Tuesday, November 4, President Trump took to Truth Social to share a potent message with the public.

“SNAP BENEFITS, which increased by Billions and Billions of Dollars (MANY FOLD!) during Crooked Joe Biden’s disastrous term in office (Due to the fact that they were haphazardly ‘handed’ to anyone for the asking, as opposed to just those in need, which is the purpose of SNAP!), will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT,” he wrote.

Ultimately, the post led some to assume that Trump apparently reneged on his compliance with utilizing partial SNAP contingency funds to supplement recipients for the month of November. Specifically,  AXOIS published a report with the headline, “Trump says SNAP will only get paid after shutdown.”

Furthermore, The Hill published a report titled, “Trump says he’s withholding SNAP benefits until shutdown ends.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Speaks Out

President Donald Trump’s Truth Social post and the subsequent reports prompted the White House to clarify his message. On Tuesday, Karoline Leavitt noted to the press that the Trump administration is “fully complying.” Additionally, she noted that it plans to partially fund SNAP for the month of November.

“The recipients of these SNAP benefits need to understand it’s going to take time to receive this money because the Democrats have forced the administration into a very untenable position. We are digging into a contingency fund that is supposed to be for emergencies, catastrophes, for war, and the president does not want to have to tap into this fund in the future, and that’s what he was referring to in his Truth Social post,” Leavitt explained.

Ultimately, Leavitt asserted that the “best way to get the full amount of SNAP benefits to beneficiaries is for Democrats to reopen the government… Democrats are holding it up.”

More On President Donald Trump & Ongoing Issue Of SNAP Funding

As The Shade Room previously reported, the halt in SNAP benefits was initiated by the government shutdown on October 1. Last week, a federal judge ordered the USDA to disburse funds “as soon as possible.” This, as word loomed that benefits would cease on November 1. Additionally, the Trump administration made it clear it had no plans to step in and use contingency funds to pay for SNAP, per The Shade Room. This, reportedly because it would pull money from other government-funded programs.

Nonetheless, on Monday, November 3, it was reported that the Trump administration would comply with the order. However, instead of the full $9 million funding SNAP usually sees, the administration would only be able to pull about 50% of that amount to fund recipients for the month of November. Additionally, it was noted that it may take anywhere from a day to a few months for recipients to receive the partial funds.

Trump ’60 Minutes’ Interview Highlights With Norah O’Donnell – Hollywood Life

Nearly four months after settling his lawsuit against CBS for $16 million, Donald Trump sat down with Norah O’Donnell on 60 Minutes. The interview took place on Friday, October 31, from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida and aired on Sunday, November 2. Read on to see some of the highlights from Trump’s 60 Minutes interview with O’Donnell and watch the video of it below.

Trump Said the U.S. Could ‘Blow Up the World’ 150 Times With Nuclear Weapons

While pointing out that the U.S. has “more nuclear weapons than any other country,” in the world, the president said that China will soon follow suit and “be even in five years.”

“You know, they’re makin’ ’em [weapons] rapidly,” Trump said. “And I think we should do something about denuclearization, which is gonna be some — and I did actually discuss that with both President [Vladimir] Putin and President Xi [Jinping]. Denuclearization’s a very big thing. We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times. Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons, and China will have a lot.”

Trump also said he wants the U.S. to perform more nuclear testing “because you have to see how they work.”

“If you notice, North Korea’s testing constantly. Other countries are testing,” Trump said. “We’re the only country that doesn’t test, and I don’t wanna be the only country that doesn’t test.”

Trump Said ICE Hasn’t ‘Gone Far Enough’ With Their Raids

After O’Donnell pointed out the harsh videos of ICE raids and arrests seen around the country, she asked Trump if he thinks some of the raids may have gone “too far.”

“No, I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by [Joe] Biden and by [Barack] Obama,” Trump claimed, adding, “Because you have to get the people out. You know, you have to look at the people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown outta their countries because they were, you know, criminals. Many of them are people from jails and prisons. Many of them are people from frankly mental institutions. I feel badly about that, but they’re released from insane asylums. You know why? Because they’re killers.”

Trump Would Rather Andrew Cuomo Be NYC Mayor Than Zohran Mamdani

When O’Donnell asked what Trump thought about New York City’s mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, the Republican said, “I think he’s probably gonna make de [former Mayor Bill de Blasio] look great. I think he will make de Blasio look like one of our great mayors. De Blasio was the worst mayor we’ve ever had. Now I saw that, you know, but I was sort of leaving during that period of time. I got to see de Blasio, how bad a mayor he was, and this man will do a worse job than de Blasio by far. And it’s gonna be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York. Because if you have a Communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”

Trump added, “I’m not a fan of [Andrew] Cuomo one way or the other, but if it’s gonna be between a bad Democrat and a Communist, I’m gonna pick the bad Democrat all the time, to be honest with you.”

Trump Doesn’t ‘Even Think About’ the 2028 Election

“Well, I don’t even think about it,” Trump said when O’Donnell asked him about the rumors of him running for a third term in 2028. “I will tell you, a lotta people want me to run. But the difference between us and the Democrats is we really do have a strong bench. I don’t wanna use names, because it’s, you know, inappropriate. But it’s too early.”

Trump Said He’s ‘Not a Nazi’ & Blames the Press for Rhetoric

“Usually, when people talk, they’re not the problem. It’s the ones that don’t talk, in terms of that,” Trump said. “But, yeah, I think it’s — it’s a lot of the rhetoric. Look, they call me a Nazi all the time. I’m not a Nazi. I’m the opposite. I’m somebody that’s saving our country. But they call me Nazi.”

The president continued by noting that the press is “largely responsible” for the negative headlines about him.

“They have talking points, you know? They have just talking points. And the press is largely responsible for it,” Trump claimed. “The fake news, what they’ve done — I think one of the greatest terms I’ve ever come up with is ‘fake news.’ What they’ve done to our country is very bad. They have to change around. Now, nobody believes the fake news.”

John Oliver Mocks Trump for Posting Photos of Remodeled Bathroom

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Amid the government shutdown, President Donald Trump posted photos of a newly remodeled bathroom.

On Friday, Trump shared a couple dozen photos of a renovated bathroom that is connected to the Lincoln Bedroom.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” he wrote on Truth Social. “It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era. I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!”

On Sunday’s Last Week Tonight, host John Oliver echoed critics of the president, noting: “That is pretty tone-deaf. And you know what? I will say to Trump what I said while watching David Harbour’s Architectural Digest video: ‘You are vastly overestimating how much I care about where you take a shit.’”

Added Oliver: “It is odd to be posting bathroom remodel photos when so many are legitimately concerned about getting the government open again.” The government shutdown, which started Oct. 1, will break a record for the longest shutdown if it continues until Tuesday.

The bathroom isn’t the only remodel Trump has ordered in the White House. He’s also overseeing a demolition project on the East Wing so that he can construct a $250 million ballroom.

Oliver previously weighed in on that project after photos surfaced of the construction: “Those images are distressing, especially when you know it’s all to build a giant ballroom in a style best described as ‘Med Spa Versailles.’ ” He added that “the demolition of the White House [is] a metaphor that, if anything, is too on the nose” for Trump’s presidency.

Trump Calls ICE on Property Brothers After They Build Ballroom

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Viewers were seeing double of Saturday Night Live host Miles Teller when he portrayed twins Jonathan and Drew Scott — the stars of the hit HGTV show Property Brothers — during a skit of them helping President Donald Trump build his new White House ballroom.

“This week we’re taking on our biggest challenge yet: building the new White House ballroom,” Teller’s Drew says before James Austin Johnson’s Trump joins them to ask, “So which one of you is married to New Girl and which one of you is the gay?

Jonathan clarifies that he’s married to Zooey Deschanel, who starred in the hit TV show, New Girl.

He then provides background on their new construction project. “Donald and Melania [Trump] moved into this house nine years ago. They were evicted for four years, but they moved back in,” Jonathan says as Teller’s Drew adds, “Donald has a strong eye for interior design.”

The camera then cuts to Trump placing gold urns everywhere. “That makes me happy. It’s very important to be happy these days. Really dark stuff happening in the world. Some of it me,” Trump says.

Even after replacing paintings in the historic building and paving over the grass in the Rose Garden with stone, Drew says, “Donald and Melania still feel like something’s missing.”

“The house is only 55,000 square feet and 132 rooms,” Chloe Fineman’s Melania says before Trump chimes in, “We need more space, right, honey? We need more space.” Melania adds, “And we need a ballroom because, Donald, he loves to dance.”

As for the budget for the White House ballroom, Jonathan says Trump told them that it was “between $350 million and infinity.” They also asked the president if he needed a permit for the construction.

“Donald laughed really hard,” Drew says of Trump’s response as Jonathan adds, “He said, ‘I could build this ballroom with the bones of my enemies and no one could stop me.”

In addition to the ballroom, Johnson’s Trump tells the Property Brothers that he also wants a ring for MMA fights on the White House lawn.

“Official ones, but also casual fights in the backyard. You know what I’m talking about? Two mentally ill guys just wailing on each other,” he explains. “We can do bum fights again. Remember bum fights? We love bum fights.”

Once demolition got underway, Jonathan updated that the entire East Wing was torn down in two days.

“With the government still shut down and so many workers furloughed, we were able to force park rangers and astronauts to do a lot of the demolition,” Drew says before Jonathan adds, “Unfortunately, the renovation hit a bit of a snag when Donald realized he had deported all the construction workers.”

“But in the end, we’re confident the new ballroom will be a shining beacon of freedom for all Americans,” Drew says.

Although that’s a bit questionable, as Johnson’s Trump admits the ballroom will “be ready just in time for my third term.” Melania notes that they “want this to be our forever home,” with Trump adding, “Yes, because we’re not leaving. We’re gonna be doing something called coup.”

At the end of the SNL skit, the Property Brothers ask for payment for the construction work. But instead of paying Drew and Jonathan, Trump asks, “Aren’t you guys from Canada?” When the brothers confirm they are, the president then calls Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on them.

Johnson’s Trump says, “There goes ICE. We like a bigot ICE.”

Judge Orders Trump Administration To Decide by Monday Whether To Restore Food Aid for 42 Million SNAP Recipients

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to reconsider its decision to suspend payments from the nation’s largest food-assistance program, directing officials to determine by no later than Monday whether to issue at least partial SNAP benefits.

According to Judge Indira Talwani, the decision leaves 42 million low-income people without benefits beginning Saturday, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture halted the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

In her ruling, Talwani wrote that two dozen Democratic-led states were correct in challenging the suspension as unlawful. However, she declined to issue a temporary restraining order, reasoning that benefits could still be resumed soon enough to prevent “irreparable harm” to recipients.

Talwani also stated that the Agriculture Department must use emergency funds to continue operating SNAP and noted that other funding sources are legally available — but said it is up to the administration to decide how much to distribute.

Jennifer Lawrence On Not Sharing Her Politics, Talking About Trump

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has reconsidered sharing her politics on the world stage.

The previously outspoken actress, who recently reflected on finding her past interviews and public persona “annoying,” told the New York Times in a sprawling Q&A that her stance on discussing her political takes have also shifted.

While discussing Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic One Battle After Another, the Die My Love star and executive producer said “it’s a good idea. It’s not a bad idea,” later clarifying she meant the “revolution” depicted in the Leonardo DiCaprio-starring drama.

When asked how the multi-hyphenate feels about speaking out now, she said, “I don’t really know if I should. During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But as we’ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. So then what am I doing? I’m just sharing my opinion on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart.”

Lawrence also said she wanted to avoid turning audiences off from her work, or projects in general that could educate viewers: “I think I’m in a complicated recalibration because I’m also an artist. I don’t want to start turning people off to films and to art that could change consciousness or change the world because they don’t like my political opinions. I want to protect my craft so that you can still get lost in what I’m doing. And if I can’t say something that’s going to speak to some kind of peace or lowering the temperature or some sort of solution, I don’t want to be a part of the problem. I don’t want to make the problem worse.”

Clarifying if she feels “regret” for how she approached political topics before, the No Hard Feelings star said, “Probably? I regret everything I’ve ever done or said. I’m going to take the zip drives out of all of these cameras when I leave. The second term feels different. Because he said what he was going to do. We knew what he did for four years. He was very clear. And that’s what we chose.”

Lawrence can soon be seen in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love, bowing in theaters Nov. 7. Next up, she will star in and produce murder mystery film The Wives for Apple Original Films. Most recently, Deadline exclusively announced she will be partnering with filmmaker Martin Scorsese and reuniting with former co-star DiCaprio on an adaptation of the ghost story novel What Happens at Night, also at Apple.
