Taylor Swift recently delivered an emotional and sincere speech at Selena Gomez’s party with Benny Blanco, a lovely moment in the 17-year friendship the two share. Entertainment Tonight states that it was revealed by an insider that Swift’s toast was “pretty long” and very personal, full of inside jokes and memories that they shared and revealed the extent of their friendship.

Us Weekly wrote that Swift looked back on Gomez’s path from heartbreak to healing, remembering instances where she’d seen Selena “crying on the floor” when her relationships fell apart. She put those sad scenes in contrast to the happiness Gomez has discovered with Benny Blanco, referring to it as “a best friend’s dream” to see such joy. Her words were an endearing sketch of two friends who have been through the ups and downs of life together.

The Daily Mail reported that Swift’s heartfelt speech had many of the guests, including Gomez, crying. She explained how their friendship has always been deeper than just a superficial friendship, labeling their bond as sisters rather than friends. Swift noted how they’ve always been there for each other even in personal and professional issues.

With a dash of humor, Swift playfully teased her own betrothal to NFL player Travis Kelce, quipping that Gomez had “beaten her to the altar.” She went on to commend Benny Blanco, referring to him as “the most perfect person” for Selena and adding, “It isn’t luck that they found each other, it’s love.”

Since then, the singer has been applauded by fans for once again proving that her friendship with Gomez is one of the closest and most revered in Hollywood.

The legend was born as Zubeen Borthakur in an Assamese Brahmin family on November 18, 1972 in Tura. Later, he adopted the surname Garg from his Gotra in the year 1990 and was named after the renowned Indian conductor of Western classical music, Zubin Mehta, as reported by The Times of India and Hindustan Times. Zubeen Da started his musical journey at the tender age of three.

The noted singer and his spouse Garima Saikia who is fashion designer shared their love story illustrating that began through the profound and personal connection with a simple fan letter. Over more than a couple of decade, their relationship endured distance, family obstruction built in their love that led to disappointment. His voice carries a deep sense of emotion and relatability, which deeply connects with listeners, particularly the youth who often seek out music that reflects their own experiences.

Zubeen: A Social Activist

As well as, Zubeen Garg was a social activist. He always used to provide crucial support during critical situations by identifying unmet needs, mobilizing communities and advocating for system change to address injustices and promote the common good. The singer offered services such as conducting on-site inquiries into human rights, violations, raising awareness through media outreach, organizing protests and marches and provided direct support and guidance to individuals impacted by crises.

He is the man who did not actively look for or pursue money and assets. He always abstained from such activities. Zubeen da stated that he was a true believer in Cha Guevara’s ideology, believed in socialism and was a social leftist. He was real, honest, predictable, less diplomatic and upfront. He did not believe in caste, creed and religion. He took an apolitical stance.

Indeed, the artiste was also a biophile since he had a strong love for nature and living things. He was a zoophile since he loved all the animals. He was a naturalist because he loved to live in natural world. He works as an environmentalist since he tried to protect the natural environment and its inhabitants.

To ensure justice and find the truth in Zubeen’s death where the circumstances are a mystery, authorities would need to conduct a proper investigation. The noted Assamese singer was cremated with full state honours and 21-gun salute on September 23 at Kamarkuchi of Sonapur. The rites were performed by his younger sister, Palmi Borthakur. Zubeen da will remain immortal to the people of Assam. The big soul never dies.

Spinal Tap Tribute Album with Foo Fighters,Tool for Teen Cancer America

Spinal Tap may be a fake band, but its music is very real, and it is being used to raise money for Teen Cancer America, a non-profit founded by The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend that runs cancer programs for teens and young adults ages 15-39.

See latest videos, charts and news

Members of such legendary groups as Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s and Tool, among others, appear on The Majesty of Rock, a 32-song collection from the Spinal Tap catalog, including such Tap classics as” Sex Farm,” “(Listen to the) Flower People,” “Hell Hole” and “Big Bottom.” The collection also features a contribution from the Play it Back Players, a band comprised of cancer patients and professional musicians, who donate their time.

In the spirit of Spinal Tap, many of the musicians created fake bands for the project. For example, Vixen’s Britt Lightning formed The Lightning Rods for her contribution. Guns N’ Roses’ Dizzy Reed plays with a group dubbed Jason Achilles, while System of a Down’s John Dolmayan plays with Antenna the End. “Big Bottom” is attributed to the band S.S.R.J.C.T., which is comprised of Mastadon’s Troy Sanders, Failure’s Kellii Scott, Kyuss’s Scott Reeder, Foo Fighters’ Rami Jaffee, Tool’s Justin Chancellor and The Go-Go’s Abby Travis. (The band takes its name from the first initial of each musician’s last name)

Only 5,000 digital copies of the compilation will be available and can be purchased here for a minimum donation of $19.84, a reference to the year This is Spinal Tap was released in 1984.

Journalist and podcaster Marc Shea produced the set, which came about following a conversation on his Performance Anxiety. “Three and a half years later, we have a double album to honor the musical and comedic legacy of Spinal Tap, the band that gave us ‘going to 11’ as well as raising awareness for spontaneous combustion,” he said in a statement. “I can’t thank the contributors or TCA enough for their support.”

“This tribute album is a fun, powerful way to raise crucial funds and awareness for the unique challenges facing this age group,” Shannon Sullivan, executive director of Teen Cancer America, said in a statement. We are incredibly grateful to the brilliant artists who have lent their talents to this project and to the creators of Spinal Tap for allowing us to celebrate their genius for a cause that is so important.”

Jason Aldean, Wife Brittany Pay Tribute to Charlie Kirk: Watch

Jason Aldean, Wife Brittany Pay Tribute to Charlie Kirk: Watch

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

The couple performed “Drink a Beer” in a video they shared on social media

Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany performed a cover of Luke Bryan in tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during a public event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

Captioning the short video clip with a heart emoji and “For Charlie,” the Aldeans are seen singing Bryan’s wistful “Drink a Beer” accompanied by Jason Aldean performing the song on acoustic guitar.

“Funny how the good ones go/Too soon, but the good Lord knows/The reasons why I guess,” Aldean sings the opening lines with his wife joining in for harmonies in the clip. The pair, who look to be at home in the black-and-white clip, also take turns on some lines on a verse. Written by Brett Beavers and Chris Stapleton, the Bryan-fronted track was a hit back in 2014, when it topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for two weeks.

Trending Stories

The video also includes a photo of the Aldeans at Kirk’s memorial service on Sept. 21 in Glendale, Arizona, which featured speakers including President Donald Trump. It’s not the first tribute Jason Aldean has paid to Kirk. At his show in Detroit the day after his late friend was killed, he honored Kirk with a two-minute speech, where he called Kirk “an amazing person” and “one of the best people ever,” as The Detroit Free Press reported.

The Aldeans’ song remembrance is among many that have come in the wake of the far-right influencer’s death, and the tribute songs are racking up huge numbers on the charts. Kirk was the co-founder of Turning Point USA, which was formed to foster a culture of conservatism on school campuses around the nation.

ABC Affiliates Air Celebrity Family Feud Re-Run Instead of Charlie Kirk Tribute

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Sinclair Broadcast Group reversed its decision to air a Charlie Kirk tribute on its affiliate channels during the time slot typically reserved for Jimmy Kimmel Live! Earlier in the week, the broadcaster pulled Kimmel’s late-night show following his comments about Kirk’s assassination and announced plans to run the tribute instead at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on Friday.

But shortly before airtime, Sinclair issued a statement on social media saying the tribute would be made available on YouTube rather than on television. In its place, its affiliates aired ABC network programming — a re-run of Celebrity Family Feud. No explanation was given for the abrupt programming change.

“Where the film business gets into trouble is when it tries to run art like a business. The fact is – art will survive anything…” The entire film industry and so many others are dealing with the profound sadness this week from losing the icon of cinema Robert Redford – who passed away on Tuesday at age 89. Aside from his beloved performances and the many films he directed, Redford’s greatest impact on cinema is perhaps the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute. The original Utah/US Film Festival took place in 1978 (before becoming the “Sundance Film Festival” in 1991) and the Sundance Institute was later founded in 1980 by Redford himself – with the dream of inspiring / encouraging artists to develop their filmmaking skills outside of the pressure of Hollywood and of success / failure. It wasn’t just the initiative to create the institute and the festival, it was his inspirational idea behind starting them, the desire to change cinema by giving indie films & filmmakers a chance to thrive and potentially be noticed by the industry and beyond. The Sundance Institute released this heartfelt 7-min video tribute to Redford, focusing on his work creating the Sundance Labs and his wisdom in running them with the goal of diversity and inclusion and innovation.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend Robert Redford. Bob’s vision of a space and a platform for independent voices launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world. Beyond his enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process. We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity. –Sundance Film Festival

Remembering Robert Redford Tribute

Remembering Robert Redford Tribute

This video was posted on the Sundance Institute’s official YouTube page. His words are still so powerful and so inspiring – and I believe his wisdom and his passion will continue to impact cinema for decades to come. He changed so many lives & filmmaking forever. The Sundance Institute also released a touching message after his death: “Bob’s vision launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world. The vibrant storytelling landscape we cherish today, both as artists and audiences, is unimaginable without his passionate drive and principled leadership. Beyond Bob’s enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process. We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity. As we look to the future, we are particularly grateful for the inspiring group of people who make up the Sundance Institute community. Thank you for your participation in our work that carries on Bob’s mission and vision.” What he says about why cinema & storytelling matter is as profound as ever. May Bob always be our spiritual guide…
