“Is there something wrong with my mom?” “You’re mom’s pretending to be someone else…” “Who is she?” Only one way to find out! Hulu has revealed the main official trailer for a horror remake called The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, based on the original 1992 movie of the same name directed by Curtis Hanson. That 90s film starred Annabella Sciorra & Rebecca De Mornay and is more of a vicious vengeance tale than horror story. This new take on The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is from Mexican horror filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Caitlin Morales, an upscale suburban mom who brings a new nanny, Polly Murphy, into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be. Garza explains: “We build a whole different kind of thriller,” hinting that it’s not so much a remake but something new. The film also stars Maika Monroe as Polly Murphy, Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran. This definitely looks very sneaky & twisted, Polly is certainly up to something with this family. Even though it’s skipping theaters, this seems like it might be worth a watch.

“Good help is hard to find.” A remake of the horror film The Hand That Rocks the Cradle from 1992. An upscale suburban mom brings a new nanny, Polly Murphy, into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be. The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is directed by Mexican genre filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera, director of the horror film Huesera: The Bone Woman and the series “La Hora Marcada” previously, plus many short films. The screenplay is written by Micah Bloomberg, based on the original 1992 screenplay written by Amanda Silver. Produced by Ted Field, Michael Schaefer, Mike Larocca. Made by 20th Century Studios, Department M, Radar Pictures. 20th Century will debut The Hand That Rocks the Cradle film streaming on Hulu directly starting on October 22nd, 2025 this fall. Any good? Scarier than before?

‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle’ Trailer: Maika Monroe in Remake

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the course of her career, Maika Monroe has emerged as one of our most reliable modern scream queens. Between “The Guest,” “It Follows,” “Watcher,” “Greta,” “Villains,” “Longlegs,” “Tau,” and many more, when you see her name in horror movie credits, you can usually bet that Monroe will be the blood-soaked final girl we’re all cheering for to the bitter end.

So that makes it all the more interesting that, for her next horror feature, a remake of Curtis Hanson’s 1992 horror hit “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” (which starred Rebecca De Mornay and Annabella Sciorra), Monroe is this time playing the baddie. Per the film‘s official synopsis: “Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Caitlin Morales, an upscale suburban mom who brings a new nanny, Polly Murphy (Maika Monroe), into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be.”

'The Bride!'

If you’ve seen Hanson’s film or are at all familiar with its concept, you know that the nanny isn’t our sympathetic heroine here. She’s the one doing the rocking (of all kinds! physically, mentally, and emotionally!) and upending the lives of a seemingly nice and normal suburban family. What a delicious twist for Monroe.

The remake, directed by “Huesera: The Bone Woman” filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera will arrive on Hulu just in time for Halloween. It also stars Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran, and is written by Micah Bloomberg based on a screenplay by Amanda Silver. The producers are Michael Schaefer, Mike LaRocca, and Ted Field, and the executive producers are Michael Napoliello, Maria Frisk, and Seth William Meier.

“The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” will start streaming on Hulu on Wednesday, October 22. Check out the film’s first trailer below.

Vince Is Dead, Billy Burke Exits in Season 4 Trailer

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

CBS isn’t going to make viewers wait until the Oct. 17 premiere to find out who survived the massive fire on “Fire Country.” On Tuesday, the first trailer for Season 4 revealed that Vince (Billy Burke) died in the burning building that the finale ended with, while both Sharon (Diane Farr) and Walter (Jeff Fahey) survived — and Bode (Max Thieriot) seemingly had to be locked in the truck in order to save him too.

In the trailer, Jake (Jordan Calloway) won’t allow Bode to run back inside; he yells, “I will never forgive this.”

After the fire, the trailer cuts to Bode giving a eulogy at his father’s funeral. “I’m going to spend the rest of my career protecting my father’s town, my father’s station, and my father’s mission,” he says. Later, it’s revealed that he feels that means he should be battalion chief, telling Jake (who, more qualified, wants the role), “It’s my birthright.”

The show’s creators opened up about the decision to kill off Vince, telling TVInsider that on a show about firefighters, it felt “truthful to the work that these people do” to have a death.

“Last season was about legacy — Vince dealing with the legacy of his father and using that as a lens to look at what his relationship with Bode was. And as we were talking about the end of the season, we felt like the thing that was really going to shake up the show and shake up our characters in the best way possible and force them to really reassess where they were and what they were doing was this kind of loss,” Tony Phelan said. “And so at the same time, we want to be very respectful of the character of Vince, of how important he is to the show, and how important Billy was as a presence on the show. So, the loss of Vince is going to echo through the entire season, and we are going to see our younger firefighters really have to begin to grapple with growing up and what is the next step for them.”

Elsewhere, the trailer previews a grieving Sharon telling the 42 they’re suspended from active duty and Audrey (Leven Rambin)’s return; plus, Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) tells Bode she still loves him. Though back for the premiere, Arcila is exiting the series after the episode.

Emmy winner Shawn Hatosy also joins this season and can be briefly seen visiting the firefighters in the trailer. He’ll be portraying a new character who helps firefighters deal with loss.

Welcome To Derry Trailer Teases “Something Bad Is Coming”

by jummy84 September 23, 2025

Derry, Maine, may have the facade of a quaint, picturesque town, but with Pennywise lurking below, its residents would likely argue otherwise.

The new trailer for HBO‘s IT: Welcome to Derry, starring and executive produced by Bill Skarsgård in his return as the terrifying killer clown, gives viewers another terrifying glimpse at what they’re in for when the prequel series hits the small screen next month.

“Do you think somebody could kidnap a kid and keep him underground? In the sewers?”

The question that has plagued Derry residents for decades floats over the trailer from one of the young kids trying to understand how and why his friend disappeared. It’s 1962, and this has never happened before. Little do they know what they’re going up against.

The trailer also finally includes a look at Skarsgård’s Pennywise, hiding his face behind the infamous red balloon as he lurks in the shadows. Cut to a young girl shrieking, her face covered in blood.

If the trailer is any indication, viewers are in for a pretty disturbing ride in this 9-episode series. One this is for sure, as the trailer teases: “Something bad is coming.”

Watch the full trailer above. IT: Welcome to Derry will launch on October 26 on HBO Max.

“They kill our people and call it justice. And yet they call us thieves… then let us be thieves with a purpose.” MGM+ has revealed a first look official trailer for their brand new Robin Hood series, their latest take on the Robin Hood legend. The last big movie we had was Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood in 2010, plus the very cheesy Taron Egerton version from 2018. This new mini-series will be streaming in November worldwide. A Saxon forester’s son, Rob, and the daughter of a Norman lord, Marian, work together to fight for justice and freedom following the Norman invasion of England in the Middle Ages. Rob becomes the leader of a band of rebel outlaws while Marian infiltrates the Norman courts, as they collaborate to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to England. From Lionsgate Television and co-created by executive producers John Glenn and Jonathan English (who also directed the pilot), and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, who was also an executive producer, Robin Hood stars Jack Patten as Rob, Lauren McQueen as Marian, Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. This definitely looks made-for-TV but also doesn’t look that bad. Some cool shots in this, hopefully it’s as powerful and inspiring as it seems to be.

Here’s the two official trailers (+ poster) for John Glenn’s Robin Hood series, direct from YouTube:

Robin Hood Trailer

Robin Hood Poster

In 12th-century England, Saxons live under the crushing rule of Norman power. Among them is Robert of Locksley (starring Jack Patten), the son of a forester, whose life is shattered when his family is stripped of their ancestral home and his father is executed by the Sheriff of Nottingham (co-starring Sean Bean). Gifted with the longbow, Rob grows from grief into rebellion, his fate forever entwined with Marian (co-starring Lauren McQueen), a noblewoman torn between loyalty to her family and her love. As tensions rise, Rob gathers a band of outlaws around him — men and women with little in common but their Saxon heritage and desire to fight tyranny. In Sherwood Forest, they wage war against corruption & injustice, drawing the ire of Sheriff, Barons, Norman royalty alike. What begins as vengeance becomes something far greater: the legend of Robin Hood, a symbol of defiance whose struggle will shape the fate of England.

Robin Hood is a series co-created and co-written by John Glenn & Jonathan English. With episodes directed by British writer / filmmaker Jonathan English, director of the films Nailing Vienna, Minotaur, Ironclad, Ironclad: Battle for Blood, My Husband’s Double Life, and the series “The Outpost” previously. It’s also showrun by the writer John Glenn (of Eagle Eye, The Lazarus Project, Elevation, “Allegiance”, “SEAL Team”). Made by Balkanic Media, Hidden Pictures, PFI Studios, Lionsgate Television. MGM debuts Glenn & English’s Robin Hood series streaming on MGM+ starting November 2nd, 2025 this fall. Anyone into it?

“I support whatever you choose…” “I have a right to these spaces.” Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the second trailer for After the Hunt, a fascinating, complex accusation thriller arriving in theaters starting in October. It just premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and plays next at NYFF this week. The latest film made by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, after Challengers and Queer last year, just as brilliant as anything he has made. A college professor finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light. What exactly did he do and what is going on? Find out watching in theaters soon. After the Hunt stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny. “Perspective changes everything.” The truth is out there, if you can handle it… This new trailer is a change from the first one, because it seems to be responding to the criticism lobbed against the film. It leans much more into what is happening in this film – focusing on Julia Roberts & the way her character is responding.

Here’s the second official trailer (+ new posters) for Luca Guadagnino’s film After the Hunt, via YouTube:

“I’m fired?!” “You’re human… Uh oh, he’s going to learn some lessons… Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the comedy Good Fortune, written and directed by Aziz Ansari, directing his first film after eps of “Master of None”. This is hitting theaters in October soon if anyone wants to watch. A well-meaning but rather inept angel named “Gabriel” meddles with the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy VC. He takes a liking to a simple gig worker named Arj who sometimes does tasks for the very wealthy Jeff. He makes them trade places to understand money won’t solve problems, but when it does solve Arj’s problems, he loses his wings and must join them down on Earth as their roommate. There’s likely a few third act twists where it’s not all okay, but you have to watch to find out. Keanu Reeves stars as the angel Gabriel, along with Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, plus Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Stephen McKinley Henderson, too. This premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival – all of these quotes comes from reviews at the fest. So far, so good. This seems like it should be a fun comedy with this great cast making us laugh for a few hours.

Here’s the third official trailer for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune, from Lionsgate’s YouTube:

Good Fortune Trailer

Good Fortune Trailer

You can rewatch the teaser for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune right here and the full trailer here.

Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) is a “budget guardian angel” named Gabriel. One day, he notices a man down on his luck (Aziz Ansari), who does odd jobs for a wealthy socialite named Jeff (Seth Rogen) who is a Venture Capitalist. Once the man falls asleep sitting in a booth at a Denny’s, he hits rock-bottom after subsequently having his car towed from their parking lot. Intervening in his plight, Gabriel tries to convince the man that being wealthy like Jeff would not solve his problems by swapping the two men’s lives. Failing at this demonstration as the man’s problems are solved by Jeff’s wealth, Gabriel loses his wings and is sent down to Earth to live among humans, while the man takes over Jeff’s body and livelihood. Gabriel then becomes roommates with the displaced Jeff, as all the good work he did as an angel begins to unravel around them.

Good Fortune is written and directed by Indian-American actor / comedian / producer / filmmaker Aziz Ansari, making his feature directorial debut with this, after directing episodes of his own series “Master of None” previously; he also wrote episodes of “Master of None” and the TV movie Dangerously Delicious, plus other comedy writing over the years. It’s produced by Aziz Ansari, Brady Fujikawa, Jon Humphrey, Anthony Katagas, David Koplan, and Alan Yang. Lionsgate will debut Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune movie in theaters nationwide starting on October 17th, 2025 later this fall. First impression? Look funny enough?

“‘It’s not over.’ Some sort of code…” Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for a thriller series titled Lazarus, arriving to watch starting in October this fall. Based on an original story idea and written by the New York Times best-selling author Harlan Coben and BAFTA-winner Danny Brocklehurst. Lazarus follows a man who returns home after his father’s suicide and begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained. It’s not based on any of Harlan Coben’s books, it’s something he came up with just for this new series. “Like father, like son.” A forensic psychologist investigates cold case murders after returning to his family home following the death of his father – likely discovering there’s a connection between his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years ago. Starring Sam Claflin as Young Laz, Bill Nighy as Doctor L, and Alexandra Roach as Jenna Lazarus, with David Fynn, Karla Crome, Kate Ashfield, and Roisin Gallagher as Laura. This looks like it has some clever twists and turns built into it, though it’s yet another new murder mystery series. What are the bigger implications? Who did it? Is his dad now an AI hologram?

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Harlan Coben’s series Lazarus, direct from PV’s YouTube:

“We shall walk on the dust of death…” Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a generic, mediocre new thriller titled Foe, being dumped on VOD later this month. Not to be confused with the recent sci-fi thriller also titled Foe from 2023 with Saoirse Ronan & Paul Mescal – this is entirely different. Don’t waste any time on it, this seems entirely forgettable. “I summon you to open the gate.” During a research tour in Barcelona, world-class master of Babylonian archeology is approached to decipher an ancient text. With an impending sense of dread, he translates the archaic parchment and ultimately opens a gate to another world, one that is drenched in horrifying mystery and danger. Johan’s life then becomes a frantic maze of nightmarish visions, pushing him to the edge of sanity. Starring Mark Gantt as Johan, Nikol Kollars, Timothy Gibbs, Reg Wilson, Mingo Ràfols, Anna Andres, and Joe Lewis. This looks really bad – avoid it entirely if you can.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Antoni Solé’s film Foe, direct from Lionsgate’s YouTube:

Johan’s life becomes a frantic maze of nightmarish visions, pushing him to the edge of sanity. His only hope for salvation is to complete his terrifying task and uncover the text’s earth-shattering secret. Foe is written and directed by Spanish producer / filmmaker Antoni Solé, making his feature directorial debut with this project. It’s also produced by Solé. Lionsgate will release Antoni Solé’s Foe thriller movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 30th, 2025 coming up this fall. Who’s curious about it?
