“Funny how your life can be upended just for telling the truth.” Magnolia has revealed the trailer for Good Night, and Good Luck: Live From Broadway, a taped version of the stage play from George Clooney. The original Good Night, and Good Luck movie opened in 2005 – it’s co-written by George Clooney, and directed by Clooney, the second feature film he directed (after Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002). Clooney’s Tony-nominated, box-office record-breaking Broadway play chronicling a time in US history when legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow took an on-air stand against a growing tide of fearmongering and disinformation—and won. Their intro: “The recent government interference in Jimmy Kimmel Live and the dubious cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show have brought the embattled state of free speech to the forefront of America’s attention. For the first time since the one-time-only CNN broadcast this summer, audiences can experience this story of a free press under assault, and with it can join in a conversation about what it means to stand up above politics for that inalienable right to expression and information.” The cast in the play includes Clooney as Murrow (played by David Strathairn in the film), with Ilana Glazer, Glenn Fleshler, Clark Gregg, Carter Hudson, Paul Gross, Christopher Denham, & Fran Kranz. Even if you know the film, this looks like a must watch new version of this story. Catch it at home on VOD anytime.

“You know what happens next.” “They’re gonna be coming for us…” Saban Films has unveiled the official trailer for another generic action movie called Exit Protocol, as usual being dumped out on VOD, starting in November later in the fall. How many more of these instantly forgettable, exceptionally mediocre action movies can they make with the same cast & same plot over and over? A notorious hitman who made a career killing other assassins, wants out. (Of course he does. It’s always the same plot.) But walking away is not an option. Now marked for death, he unexpectedly finds himself partnering with a former target to outrun his boss. From director Shane Dax Taylor (of The Best Man, The Christmas Classic, Murder Company), Exit Protocol stars Scott Martin, Dolph Lundgren, Charlotte Kirk, Lina Maya, Stephanie Beran, and Michael Jai White. This looks as boring and obvious as any movie can. Don’t waste any time on this one.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Shane Dax Taylor’s action movie Exit Protocol, from YouTube:

Exit Protocol Poster

An assassin whose specialty is killing other assassins trying to get out of the business decides to try to get out himself and must then team up with his former mark to escape the hired killers now gunning for them both. Exit Protocol is directed by American indie producer / director Shane Dax Taylor, director of other bad action movies including The Grey, Bloodworth, Isolation, Masquerade, The Best Man, The Christmas Classic, and Murder Company previously. The screenplay is written by Chad Law. It’s produced by Michael Slifkin, Jack Sheehan, Daniel Cummings, Scott Martin. Saban Films will debut Dax Taylor’s Exit Protocol action movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting November 7th, 2025 coming soon this fall. Anyone?

“You messed with the cartel’s business… Now they’re coming for you.” “I’m ready.” Unleash the hound(s)! RLJE Films has revealed the official trailer for a movie called Muzzle: City of Wolves, a surprise sequel to the movie Muzzle from 2023. Did anyone know about this? Did anyone even watch that original movie? Muzzle: City of Wolves is a direct sequel – introducing a new dog named Argos as his partner. Haunted ex-K-9 officer Jake’s peaceful life is shattered when a gang brutally attacks his family. With his new K-9 partner Argos, he uncovers a drug ring, confronts corrupt officials involved in it, and fights inner demons all the while pursuing the criminals. Of course he does! A sequel to 2023’s Muzzle, the action-thriller stars Aaron Eckhart, Tanya van Graan, and Karl Thaning. Directed again by John Stalberg Jr., opening in theaters this November. At least the doggie in this looks like he’s a real champion. But the rest? Exceptionally cliche.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for John Stalberg Jr.’s film Muzzle: City of Wolves, from YouTube:

Muzzle: City of Wolves Trailer

Muzzle: City of Wolves Poster

Jake Rosser (starring Aaron Eckhart) is haunted by PTSD from his days as a K-9 officer and endeavors to lead a peaceful life with his family and retired K-9 companion, Socks. But the tranquility quickly dissolves when a ruthless gang targets them in a brutal attack. Determined to protect his loved ones, Jake and his new K-9 partner “Argos” delve into a violent underbelly of crime where Jake confronts corrupt officials, uncovers a perilous drug trafficking ring, and battles his own inner demons. Muzzle 2: City of Wolves is directed by American producer / filmmaker John Stalberg Jr., also director of the movies High School, Crypto, Bad Hombres, and Muzzle previously. The screenplay is written by Jacob Michael King, based on a story by John Stalberg Jr. Based on the characters created by Carlyle Eubank. Produced by Kyle Ambrose, Delon Bakker, David Frigerio, John Stalberg Jr. RLJE Films will debut Stalberg Jr’s Muzzle: City of Wolves movie in US theaters starting November 14th, 2025 later in the fall. Who’s down to watch? Look good?

“Someday we’ll all be living in computers…” That’s for sure. Oscilloscope Labs has unveiled the full trailer for OBEX, a peculiar indie horror fantasy sci-fi creation from the mind of filmmaker Albert Birney (also of Strawberry Mansion). This first premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in the experimental Next section, then played at the RiverRun, Atlanta, Chicago Critics, Sydney, Munich, Fantasia, & Vancouver Film Festivals during the year. Set in the 1980s, Conor Marsh’s secluded life disrupted when he gets a start of the art new game called OBEX which claims to digitize the player and put them into the game. But when he starts playing, his dog Sandy disappears, blurring reality and game. Conor enters the OBEX world to rescue Sandy, navigating its strange realms. A black-and-white surreal fantasy film. Starring Albert Birney as Conor, Callie Hernandez, Paisley Isaacs, Frank Mosley, Tyler Davis, and more. This nerdy little film has such a funky retro vibe, with all the clunky hardware and 8-bit chunkiness from the 80s. It’s a unique & entertaining indie project that I hope cinephiles of all kinds watch out for when it’s in theaters. View below.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Albert Birney’s film OBEX, direct from YouTube:

OBEX Poster

OBEX Poster

In pre-internet 1987, Conor (starring Albert Birney) and his dog named Sandy live a life of seclusion, lost in the slow-rendering graphics of early Macs and televisions aglow with late night horror marathons. But when he begins playing OBEX, a new and mysterious, state-of-the-art computer game, he finds himself trapped in a low-tech, but high-stakes analog hellscape as the line between reality and game blurs. OBEX is directed by the indie actor / writer / filmmaker Albert Birney, director of the films The Beast Pageant, Sylvio, Tux and Fanny, Strawberry Mansion, and Eyeballs in the Darkness previously. The screenplay is written by Albert Birney and Pete Ohs. Produced by James Belfer, Albert Birney, Emma Hannaway, Pete Ohs. This initially premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year in the Next section, with a stop at the Chicago Critics Film Festival in the summer. Oscilliscope Labs will debut Birney’s OBEX film in select US theaters starting on January 9th, 2026 early next year. So who’s intrigued? Would you play? 💀

“He brought home a second wife. But something else followed…” The first official trailer has debuted for a film titled The Vile, a supernatural horror thriller from UAE (United Arab Emirates). Directed by genre filmmaker Majid Al Ansari as his second horror feature so far, this film just premiered at Fantastic Fest last month where it won Best Film from the jury. It also plays at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain next this month. When a man decides to bring home a second wife, the new bride is not the only thing that enters the family house. Amani’s peaceful life as a wife and mother shatters when her husband brings home a second wife without her consent, unleashing mysterious dark forces into their household. Blending supernatural & horror elements, the film is a viscerally gripping exploration of polygamy, greed, betrayal, and trauma—told through the eyes of a mother and her daughter. Starring Bdoor Mohammed, Sarah Taibah, and Eman Tarik. While polygamy is a familiar concept in the UAE, Al Ansari’s film boldly questions notions of gender inequality & consent in relationships, making The Vile as thought-provoking as it is unsettling. Al Ansari found inspiration from legendary genre cult classics including Fatal Attraction and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, offering audiences a truly diabolical cinematic feast for the senses. Worth a look! Check this out.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Majid Al Ansari’s horror film The Vile, direct from YouTube:

“As a huge horror fan and as a filmmaker who has predominantly worked in this genre, I wanted to create a female-led film where the fear factor stems from the trauma that is inflicted after a man decides to marry for a second time, without the consent of his current wife. I had to get as close as I could to the same kinds of emotions women could experience when they are confronted by this situation. Empathy alone was not going to be enough and I spent an intense period researching so that I could tell this story in an authentic way. I didn’t want to make a statement or judgement about polygamy, but rather visually express a family’s psychological and emotional journey as a result of deception and secrecy.” –Director Majid Al Ansari

The Vile Horror Trailer

The Vile Horror Poster

Amani (Bdoor Mohammad) is blindsided & heartbroken when her husband, Khalid (Jasem Alkharraz), brings a second wife into their home. Forced to accept the circumstances and determined to fight for the sake of her daughter, Noor, Amani remains in the house and attempts to assert her role as the family’s matriarch. Living with the new bride, Zahra (Sarah Taibah), crushes Amani emotionally & sends her into a downward spiral. When ominous, seemingly paranormal events begin to overtake the house, Amani launches a frenzied search for answers, leaving Noor fearful for her mom’s own sanity. Driven by instinct and terror, Amani becomes increasingly convinced there is something sinister in Zahra’s past—but her desperate quest for the truth threatens to push her further from reality. The Vile, also known as Hoba, is directed by UAE filmmaker Majid Al Ansari, director of the film Zinzana (or Rattle The Cage) previously, and a few other shorts. The screenplay is by Majid Al Ansari and Johnnie Alward, from a story by Majid Al Ansari. Produced by Derek Dauchy, Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, and Rami Yasin. This premiered at Fantastic Fest and plays at the 2025 London & Sitges Film Festivals this fall. No US release date is set yet – stay tuned.

“All they want is to be who they are, yet the world is determined go there and destroy them!” Yep! She’s right. Vertical has unveiled their official trailer for a movie titled Last Days, the first non-Fast & Furious movie directed by filmmaker Justin Lin in a while. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and will be out to watch coming soon this fall. The film tells the story of John Allen Chau, an idealistic missionary wanting to make contact with the “Sentinelese“, an isolated tribe living on North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean. It’s the same story told in the doc film The Mission, which everyone is familiar with because he was killed by this island tribe at the shore. A 26-year-old missionary journeys to the remote North Sentinel Island, determined to convert an isolated tribe, while the authorities attempt to intervene before potential harm occurs. Starring Sky Yang as John Allen Chau, with Radhika Apte, Ken Leung, Naveen Andrews, Toby Wallace, and Ciara Bravo. This movie looks like it glorifies this kid way too much, when in reality, he was just a dangerous idiot who had no valid reason to go there. Oh well…

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Justin Lin’s film Last Days, direct from Vertical’s YouTube:

The screenplay is written by Ben Ripley. Based on the true story of John Allen Chau; inspired by the article “The Last Days of John Allen Chau” written by Alex Perry. It’s produced by Salvador Gatdula, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Justin Lin, Eric Ian Robinson, Andrew Schneider, and Clayton Townsend. This initially premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Vertical will debut Lin’s Last Days film in select US theaters + on VOD starting October 24th, 2025 this fall. “Who are you? You know who I am…” Magnolia Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for an intriguing experimental genre creation called The Carpenter’s Son, described as sort of a horror take on the story of Jesus. Yes, for real. It’s from the same director behind the other visionary films 12 O’Clock Boys and Harka. The film is based on the apocryphal gospel, the Infancy Gospel of Thomas. A remote village in Roman-era Egypt explodes into spiritual warfare when a carpenter & his son Jesus are targeted by supernatural forces. A boy, known as “The Boy”, is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension. As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors, natural & divine. The film stars Nicolas Cage as The Carpenter, FKA Twigs as The Mother, Noah Jupe as The Boy, with Souheila Yacoub and Isla Johnston. Set for release in theaters this November. Director Lotfy Nathan, drawing from his Coptic Christian background, delivers a meticulously crafted, genre-bending supernatural thriller packed with unshakeable images. Gotta say I’m certainly curious about this, looks like a unique take on the classic biblical tale. What do you think?

Here’s the full official trailer (+ poster) for Lotfy Nathan’s film The Carpenter’s Son, from YouTube:

The Carpenter's Son Poster

A remote village in Roman-era Egypt explodes into spiritual warfare when a carpenter, his wife and their child are targeted by supernatural forces. Joseph (Cage), Mary (FKA Twigs) and their teenage son Jesus (Jupe) have lived for years under threat, clinging to their faith and traditions. But a stopover in a small settlement unleashes growing chaos when a mysterious stranger (Isla Johnston) tries to entice Jesus to abandon his devout father’s rules. With every pull of temptation, the boy is lured into a forbidden world, as a terrified Joseph realizes that a demonic power is at work. Violent, unnatural events inexplicably follow Jesus, and he begins to experience nightmarish visions of the future. Finally, he learns the fearsome truth about his new playmate, as well as the child’s real name: Satan. The Carpenter’s Son is written and directed by British-American visionary filmmaker Lotfy Nathan, director of the films 12 O’Clock Boys and Harka previously, plus a few other shorts. Inspired by the classic “Infancy Gospel of Thomas“. Produced by Brahim Chioua, Eva Diederix, Alex Hughes, Yiannis Iakovidis, Eugene Kotlyarenko, Riccardo Maddalosso, Vincent Maraval, Solène Michel, Julie Viez, and Nicolas Cage. This hasn’t premiered at any film festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Magnolia Pictures will debut Lofty Nathan’s The Carpenter’s Son film in select US theaters starting November 14th, 2025 coming soon this fall. First impression? Who’s interested n it?

“When do you think happens when you die? It’s time to find out.” In theaters in a few weeks! Universal has debuted an extra promo trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Black Phone 2, the horror follow-up to C. Robert Cargill & Scott Derrickson’s film The Black Phone from 2022. We’ve posted two other scary trailers for this before, here’s one more to remind people to buy tickets for the release on October 17th this month. The story of the masked man ain’t over yet. 4 years ago, 13-year-old Finn killed his abductor & escaped, now the sole survivor of The Grabber. But true evil transcends death… and the phone is ringing again. Will you answer? Following the blockbuster success of Blumhouse’s 2022 horror hit, which earned more than $160M worldwide and global acclaim, Universal announces the launch of a sinister new franchise with the release of Black Phone 2. “The Grabber” has big plans? Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and Miguel Mora all return for this sequel, again directed Derrickson. The filmmakers finally confirm that “Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors was absolutely an inspiration” – it looks like they made one helluva crazy homage to that horror classic. Some gnarly kills in here! Who’s watching?

Here’s the “Get Tickets Now” promo for Scott Derrickson’s horror sequel Black Phone 2, from YouTube:

The Black Phone 2 Trailer

The Black Phone 2 Poster

You can watch the first trailer for Derrickson’s Black Phone 2 horror movie right here + second trailer here.

Ethan Hawke is returning to the most sinister role of his career as The Grabber seeks vengeance on Finn (Mason Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw). As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, the headstrong 15-year-old Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone & seeing disturbing visions of 3 boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake. Determined to solve the mystery and end the torment for both her and her brother, Gwen persuades Finn to visit the camp during a winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering intersection between The Grabber and her own family’s history. Together, she and Finn must confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death & even more significant to them than either could imagine.

Black Phone 2, originally known as The Black Phone 2, is once again directed by acclaimed American genre filmmaker Scott Derrickson, director of the films The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Sinister, Deliver Us from Evil, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, The Black Phone, and The Gorge previously, plus an ep of “Snowpiercer” and a short in V/H/S/85. The screenplay is again written by C. Robert Cargill & Scott Derrickson. It’s produced by Jason Blum, Scott Derrickson, & C. Robert Cargill. Made by Blumhouse. Universal sends Derrickson’s Black Phone 2 in theaters nationwide starting October 17th, 2025 this fall.

“You’ve got to sell them the dream.” “What’s the dream?” “Me.” Sky TV has revealed their teaser trailer for a thriller series titled The Death of Bunny Munro, ready to watch streaming in the UK this November. No US release is set yet – expected sometime next spring. Based on the novel by Nick Cave with the same name as the series, the film is a bleak look at the life of a sex-addict traveling salesman who uses his door-to-door beauty products to meet women. Adapted from Nick Cave’s acclaimed novel, The Death of Bunny Munro is both a wild cautionary tale and a tender portrait of the relationship between father and son. A misogynistic middle-aged salesman takes his son on a road trip around Sussex after his wife’s suicide at the same time as a serial killer is inhabiting the area. Matt Smith stars as Bunny Munro, joined by Rafael Mathé as Bunny Junior, Sarah Greene, Johann Myers, Robert Glenister, and Alice Feetham. This looks very kooky and dark and seriously messed up – but I guess that’s the point of this strange story. Check out the first look.

Here’s the first look teaser trailer for Sky TV’s series The Death of Bunny Munro, direct from YouTube:

The Death of Bunny Munro Teaser

The Death of Bunny Munro Teaser

After his wife’s death, a sex-addicted door-to-door salesman and self-professed lothario Bunny Munro (Matt Smith) takes his young son on a chaotic sales tour around Brighton and beyond, where he is forced to confront what kind of man — and father — he really is. The Death of Bunny Munro is a UK mini-series adapted & written by Pete Jackson (“Somewhere Boy”). Based on the novel of the same name by Nick Cave, first published in 2009. All episodes are directed by Swedish filmmaker Isabella Eklöf (also director of Holiday, Kalak, and episodes of “Servant”, “Industry”). Produced by Matthew Mulot; made by Clerkenwell Films & Sky Studios. Executive produced by Nick Cave, Matt Smith, Isabella Eklöf, Pete Jackson, Manpreet Dosanjh, Petra Fried, Ed Macdonald, Emily Harrison. Sky TV will debut The Death of Bunny Munro series streaming in the UK only starting on November 20th, 2025 this fall. Is anyone into this? Want to watch?
