UK snooker fans will have access to extensive coverage of the British Open live on ITV4 throughout the week.

After the Prince and Princess of Wales’s busywork theatrics in the past two weeks, I expected them to take a multiweek vacation to recover. I guess that isn’t happening yet – surely, the kids’ school has a half-term break coming up? So, dreadfully, William and Kate are back at work yet again, the poor exhausted sausages. They stepped out today – in what was an unannounced appearance – in Southport. Southport was devastated in July 2024 when a man with a knife violently attacked adults and children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. King Charles was sent to Southport to meet with the victims’ families pretty quickly, but William and Kate waited months to visit. Well, today was their second visit.

They visited the Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School. They pulled kids out of class to greet Kate and William (only Kate crouched down to the kids’ level). They also met with a victim’s family and her teachers and friends. Kate told the kids: “I’m very impressed with all of you and all the hard work you’re doing. What a fantastic thing to learn to raise money to help other people. Keep up your hard work.”

This kind of visit isn’t about clothes, and I don’t have the IDs on Kate’s ensemble. She wore grey trousers (with cuffs??), a grey overcoat and a pink pussybow blouse. I kind of think the pussybow ruins the look – a regular pink blouse would have been fine here. Even Kate’s hairpiece seemed subdued out of respect for the Southport community.

The Hack producer on why phone-hacking scandal is “even more relevant” today

Their work appears to be separate at first, concerning tabloid misbehaviour on one side and a still-unsolved murder on the other, but connective tissue becomes apparent as the story gradually unfolds.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com at the launch of the series, Williams (who also worked on Mr Bates vs The Post Office) acknowledged that the technology involved might seem antiquated now – but the core themes remain urgently current.

“Even though it’s set only about 12 years ago, part of it is to do with the hacking of voicemails, which feels quite analogue now,” he began.

“But I think, at the same time, it will hopefully remind people of how much they’re sharing with the item in their pocket and with bits of technology. And, of course, that’s even more the case now. It’s even more relevant.

“We’re sharing more and more stuff than people would have shared in their voicemails back then.”

While concerns over privacy have only grown since the practice of phone-hacking was stamped out, owing partly to the rise of big tech and online tracking, The Hack writer Jack Thorne thinks further probing of the scandal is required.

“[This story] hasn’t been given the opportunity to be investigated properly. Leveson was supposed to be in two parts… and Leveson 2 was supposed to be looking into criminality,” he said at a post-screening Q&A for The Hack.

“It’s supposed to be looking into these relationships that were so problematic, and that inquiry was denied by the Conservative government. And then Labour said one of the things they were going to do is Leveson 2, and now they’ve shelved it.”

He concluded: “We need this painful itch properly scratched so that we can move on from it. Because it was extraordinary, and what it means about our institutions, about the country we live in… it really matters to look at it and look at it properly.”

The Hack features a starry ensemble cast, including Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), Rose Leslie (Vigil) and Eve Myles (Coldwater), among others.

The Hack premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Wednesday 24th September 2025.

Estimates of d4vd’s net worth for 2025 generally put him at around $2 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

However, his financial future has come under scrutiny in light of recent headlines. In September 2025, police discovered the body of missing teenager Celeste Rivas in a Tesla registered to the singer, sparking a homicide investigation. As a result, several of his scheduled appearances have been affected, including a planned show in Seattle on September 17, which was canceled. According to TMZ, major brands have also pulled promotional content featuring d4vd, while some collaborators have distanced themselves from the singer.

Despite the controversy, a spokesperson confirmed that d4vd remains on his Withered World Tour and is “fully cooperating with the authorities.”

Without naming anyone, she said, “It’s all negative PR to pull someone down. If I start sharing details, these shows will seem like peanuts.” Supporting her, Pawan remarked, “I’ve been saying since day one, this show is nothing compared to what you’ve faced.”
