Can Inside Out Redefine ROI for Sustainable Fashion Businesses?

In March, social entrepreneur Suzy Amis Cameron (whose husband is filmmaker James Cameron) launched a holding company with bold ambitions in fashion and beyond.

Co-signed by entrepreneur Erik Stangvik and former Deloitte partner Blair Knippel, Inside Out was positioned as a “wayfinding collective” designed to deliver “revolutionary solutions to the world’s most urgent challenges”. Its mission spreads across six key verticals: science research technology, fashion textiles home, food, education, media, and wellness.

Just over six months in, the fashion textiles home vertical — helmed by Vogue Business 100 Innovator and longtime sustainability consultant Matteo Ward — has already made two acquisitions: Wråd, the consulting studio Ward founded; and Sheep Inc., a UK-based wool brand focused on traceability. On Thursday, Inside Out unveiled the latest project: organic children’s and womenswear brand The Simple Folk.

To mark the occasion, Ward and Amis Cameron outline their shared vision for Inside Out, and how they plan to turn their blue-sky ambitions into reality.

Vogue: Why did you create Inside Out and what do you hope it will achieve?

Suzy: For years I’d been working across education, fashion and food, but these worlds were operating in silos. I wanted to bring them under one ecosystem that could align business agendas and the urgent needs of the planet. Inside Out was born from a simple realization. If we want lasting change, we have to redesign the systems that shape our daily lives, from the clothes we wear to the food we eat, the stories we tell and the way we nurture our families. Our objective is to improve the well-being of the world for generations we will never meet.

Vogue: You’re operating across sectors, but how does Inside Out plan to create sustainable change in the fashion industry specifically?

Matteo: Every day, we walk into work aware of the fact that nobody needs another pair of jeans or another T-shirt, but we all need better brands and better systems built around them, to fashion better habits and better habitats.

It’s beyond materials — it’s about redefining the role of the fashion industry itself. At the highest level, preserving the industry’s legitimacy and relevance. At the brand level, preserving their competitiveness and resilience. If we extract essential resources for life to make clothes, the bare minimum is to ask ourselves: what for? What can brands do for their communities? What’s the transformative promise of our projects?

L’Oréal and T3 Systems Redefine Sustainable Event and Retail Design

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

L’Oréal and T3 Systems are pioneering circular design in retail and events — delivering high-end, reusable activations that merge sustainability, creativity, and global scalability for world-leading beauty brands.

In a sector where one-off builds and single-use materials have long been the norm, a quiet revolution is taking place. Global beauty giant L’Oréal has partnered with T3 Systems to lead a new era of sustainable event and retail activations — proving that premium design and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

The partnership began with the introduction of The T3 System — a lightweight, modular framework that enables brands to achieve bespoke, premium finishes without waste. Every structure can be reconfigured, reused, and refreshed for future activations, eliminating the need for one-time-use builds while maintaining exceptional aesthetic quality.

Following early success, the collaboration has expanded to include two major UK events, each executed using the same T3 kit — reconfigured to create entirely new, visually striking experiences. This circular design approach allows L’Oréal to maintain design excellence while dramatically reducing carbon footprint, materials use, and build time.

“The beauty industry has always valued creativity and finish. What’s exciting now is proving that sustainability can enhance rather than limit that,” says Philippe van Ameyde, Managing Director at T3 Systems. “L’Oréal’s activations demonstrate that circular design and brand experience can coexist beautifully.”

The same T3 system has also been used by Coty Inc., home to brands including Rimmel, Hugo Boss, and Gucci Beauty. Across both L’Oréal and Coty activations, the kit has now been reused at seven different events, configured in unique ways to deliver fresh, high-impact results each time.

Each display system is built around T3’s modular aluminium framework, engineered for rapid, tool-free assembly and disassembly. The result is a solution that embodies circular design principles, providing brands with flexibility, sustainability, and stunning visual outcomes in equal measure.

With its global availability, T3 Systems supports clients worldwide through a central design and sales team in London, and production facilities in Essex and West Paris. This international network ensures seamless delivery and consistent quality — wherever clients choose to activate.

T3 Systems now works with an impressive portfolio of leading luxury and beauty brands including L’Oréal, Armani, Valentino, Prada, Rimmel, Hugo Boss, and Coty Inc. Together, they’re helping to shape a more responsible future for live and retail environments — one modular structure at a time. 🎥 Watch the full video case study here:

New European Headquarters

As part of its ongoing European expansion, T3 Systems has established a dedicated headquarters and production hub in Élancourt, West Paris. Operating under t3displaysystems.fr, the French team serves clients across mainland Europe with local design, stock, and project support — ensuring faster turnaround times and a lower carbon footprint for European activations.

Prince William and Princess Kate call for ‘better, more sustainable world’

31 October 2025

Prince William and Princess Kate have called for a “better, more sustainable world” in a new social media post.

Prince William and Princess Kate have called for a ‘better, more sustainable world’ in a new social media post

Just after King Charles formally began the process of stripping Prince Andrew of his titles and honours, the couple, both 43, shared the message on their Kensington Royal X account as part of ongoing promotion for the Earthshot Prize, William’s environmental initiative recognising global projects tackling climate change.

The post included a two-minute video highlighting finalists from Barbados, Bangladesh and the United States, describing how each is helping communities adapt to environmental challenges.

William and Kate wrote: “We envision a world that’s a better, more sustainable home for everyone. A world where greenhouse gas emissions are falling, and carbon-neutral economies help protect the most vulnerable. A world like this is within reach.”

It was the fifth consecutive day the Prince and Princess of Wales had posted Earthshot content, following videos released throughout the past week.

William, unveiling the Earthshot shortlist earlier this month, reflected on the urgency of the prize’s mission.

He said: “Back then, a decade felt a long time. George was seven, Charlotte five and Louis two; the thought of them in 2030 felt a lifetime away. But today, as we stand halfway through this critical decade, 2030 feels very real.”

Five winners will each receive £1 million when the Earthshot Prize is awarded on 5 November at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, ahead of the COP30 UN climate summit.

The latest Earthshot message appeared less than a day after Buckingham Palace confirmed King Charles, 76, had ordered the removal of Andrew’s HRH style, titles and honours.

In a statement, the Palace said: “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”

It added: “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Andrew, 65, is expected to vacate Royal Lodge and live privately under the King’s care at Sandringham Estate.

Royal sources told The Daily Mail that he could receive around £500,000 as part of the early termination of his lease agreement.

Meanwhile, Republic, the anti-monarchy campaign group, said it had instructed lawyers to explore a private prosecution against Andrew over allegations relating to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Showman’s Show partners with Grid Faeries x Ecotricity to supply sustainable energy to over 120 exhibitors.

The Directors of The Showman’s Show, Jeremy & Johnny Lance, are excited to announce a new partnership for the 2025 show with Grid Faeries x Ecotricity, who will be using their 1-megawatt battery to supply sustainable energy to The Showman’s Show show’s custom built Exhibition Hall.

Grid Faeries, founded by Dale Vince OBE and Claire O’Neill in partnership with Ecotricity, is dedicated to transforming the way festivals and outdoor events are powered. The company delivers renewable energy solutions through onsite battery power, while also working towards permanent grid connections and exploring new localised green generation projects.

Grid Faeries x Ecotricity batteries have had a busy year, powering the Arcadia Dragonfly stage at Glastonbury, the Charlie Gillett stage at WOMAD, Massive Attack’s stage on Clifton Downs, Bristol, and APE and LIDO in Victoria Park.

Claire O’Neill, CEO and Co-founder said: “We’re pleased to be powering The Showman’s Show with our Grid Faeries battery packed with power from the wind and the sun. Our aim is to get the diesel out of live events – powering the show all about shows is a great chance to reach the audience we need to. First, we take out the diesel generators then we connect to the grid – that’s the mission.”

Johnny Lance states that “The Showman’s Show prides itself in being a platform to showcase new ideas and innovations.  This partnership not only will help us as an organiser meet our sustainability goals but also provides an opportunity for event organisers and suppliers to see this service in action and come and speak to the team at Grid Faeries to learn more”.

The Showman’s Show is held at Newbury Showground on the 22nd & 23rd of October.  It is free to attend.

The Sustainable Secret of Hybrid Events

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Sustainability has become a defining theme in the events industry. From reusable name badges to carbon-offset travel schemes, there’s growing recognition that every decision we make as organisers, venues, and suppliers has an environmental consequence. Yet one of the most effective tools for reducing emissions and increasing accessibility is often overlooked: the hybrid event.

Hybrid as a Strategic Choice

Hybrid events have come a long way since the early days of the pandemic. What started as a necessity has matured into a deliberate, strategic way of engaging audiences. By combining an in-person gathering with high-quality live streaming and interactive online participation, organisers can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of an event without compromising reach or impact.

A well-designed hybrid event allows global audiences to connect without the need for mass travel, long-haul flights, or overnight stays. It’s a shift in mindset – not from “in-person” to “virtual”, but towards a more intelligent balance between the two. The best events today aren’t about bringing everyone to one place; they’re about bringing the experience to everyone.

The Environmental Case for Hybrid

Transport is consistently one of the largest contributors to an event’s carbon footprint, often accounting for more than 70% of total emissions. Reducing the number of attendees who need to travel immediately lowers that figure. Even small changes – such as encouraging remote attendance for certain sessions, or hosting regional watch parties – can make a measurable difference.

Hybrid events also help cut waste. Smaller physical audiences mean less catering, fewer single-use materials, and lower energy consumption at venues. Add to that the ability to repurpose digital content rather than recreating it from scratch, and the environmental benefits quickly multiply.

Building Sustainability into Event Design

Designing a sustainable hybrid event starts long before cameras roll. It begins with asking the right questions at the planning stage:

  • Could parts of the event be streamed rather than replicated across multiple cities?
  • What’s the minimum viable footprint for production and crew travel?
  • How can online participants be given an equally valuable experience?

The answers to those questions lead to smarter, leaner events. Advances in technology now make it possible to deliver broadcast-quality production with smaller, more efficient setups. Portable connectivity units, remote-controlled cameras, and cloud-based switching tools have made professional streaming achievable from almost anywhere – fields, factories, and temporary spaces included.

Key Actions for Event Organisers

For organisers looking to reduce their environmental impact while maintaining event quality, here are some practical steps to consider:

  • Plan hybrid from the start – integrate digital participation into your event design early, rather than adding it later as an afterthought.
  • Reduce travel where possible – encourage remote attendance for speakers or attendees who would otherwise fly or travel long distances.
  • Select sustainable venues – choose locations with renewable energy use, good public transport links, and established recycling or waste management systems.
  • Rethink materials – minimise printed materials, reuse signage and staging, and prioritise digital communications and ticketing.
  • Use efficient production setups – opt for lightweight, multi-purpose equipment and local crew where possible to reduce freight and travel.
  • Incorporate accessibility – design hybrid participation options that support diverse needs, including captioning, interpreters, and simple navigation.
  • Repurpose your content – film sessions for reuse in future training, marketing, or community engagement rather than recreating similar events later.
  • Measure and communicate impact – track emissions, waste reduction, and audience reach to build transparency and set measurable sustainability goals.

These small, intentional changes not only make a difference environmentally but also resonate with delegates and sponsors who increasingly expect sustainability to be more than a policy statement.

The Inclusion Factor

Sustainability and inclusivity often go hand-in-hand. Hybrid events remove barriers for those who can’t travel – whether due to cost, accessibility needs, illness, or family commitments – and make participation possible for a far wider audience.

They also support diversity by enabling organisations to draw speakers and delegates from around the world, without the associated financial or environmental cost of travel. For many event planners, this broader inclusivity has become a central part of their ESG goals.

Longevity and Content Value

One of the most powerful sustainability gains from hybrid events lies in how they extend an event’s lifespan. When sessions are captured in high-quality video, they can be repurposed into on-demand training materials, highlight reels, or short-form content for marketing.

Instead of existing as a one-day experience, an event can generate weeks or months of ongoing engagement. That’s better for ROI and better for the planet – fewer repeated gatherings, fewer duplicated resources, and more lasting impact from a single production.

From Trend to Standard Practice

As sustainability commitments become standard across the industry, hybrid events are likely to form the backbone of a more responsible approach to event design. The most successful organisers will be those who see hybrid not as a fallback but as an opportunity – a way to balance human connection with environmental awareness.

The key is integration. Rather than treating sustainability as an add-on, it needs to be embedded into every part of the planning process, from travel policies and supplier choices to content strategy and legacy use. Hybrid offers a natural framework for this shift, allowing the industry to reduce impact while maintaining creativity, innovation, and engagement.

A Greener Future for Events

The events industry has always been about connection – and connection doesn’t have to come at the expense of the planet. Hybrid delivery offers a blueprint for how we can continue to create shared experiences while respecting the world we build them in.

Many production teams are already embracing this shift. At Stream7, for example, the majority of events delivered are now hybrid, supported by energy-efficient equipment, digital-first workflows, and remote production technologies that reduce travel and waste. It’s a small example of how sustainability can be embedded not just in event design but in the day-to-day operations of the wider industry.

The next era of sustainable events won’t just be about cutting carbon or swapping single-use items for greener alternatives. It will be about designing smarter, more inclusive experiences that work for both people and the planet.

And that’s the real secret of hybrid events.

What is sustainable diet? Doctor shares 8 practical tips to stay healthy: Seasonal veggies, smart eating order and more

A sustainable diet is not restrictive, and instead supports long-term health by being realistic. Know how you can follow a sustainable diet.

There are a lot of diets trending lately that people are very quick to adopt. But one of the concerns with these quick-fix diets is the lack of longevity. Many get tired or give up midway because it feels too confining. Commonly, fad diets are too ambitious, cutting a number of different food groups, but the real solution lies in balance, moderation, and mindful choices that can be sustained in the long run. The way forward is adopting a diet which is enduring and, most importantly, realistic.

Dr Aparna Santhanam, dermatologist and holistic wellness coach, told HT Lifestyle that a sustainable diet helps to keep up with dieting for years as it’s not restrictive.

She explained, “A sustainable diet is not a short-lived food plan but a way of eating that you can enjoy and maintain for years. It focuses on balance, variety, and moderation, rather than rigid restrictions. The beauty of sustainable eating is that it not only protects long-term health but also makes daily meals more enjoyable, practical, and kind to the planet.”

Further, she highlighted how in the Indian food culture, where food is respected, sustainable eating is viewed as a way of building a natural habit to nourish the body.

Dr Santhanam shared 8 tips, demonstrating how to follow a sustainable diet:

1. Prioritise non-processed foods

  • Prioritise whole, minimally processed foods in the form of fresh fruits, vegetables, dals, and whole grains keep you fuller for longer.
  • For example, roasted chana or Makhana makes a far better snack swap nutritionally and sustainability-wise wise than a bag of store-bought potato chips.

2. Ensure smart eating order

Add darker greens to your salads. (Shutterstock)

  • Start meals with fibre-rich foods like salads or sautéed vegetables, then move to protein (dal, paneer, fish, eggs), and finish with carbs, which are largely grain-based in the Indian context.
  • This helps control sugar spikes, improves satiety, and keeps energy levels steady.

3. Adopt portion control

  • Instead of cutting out favourite foods, enjoy them in smaller servings. Sharing a dessert at dinner is both healthier and more satisfying.
  • At home, use smaller plates and bowls that visually cue abundance.

4. Add more proteins

• Add more plant-based proteins.

  • Mix in dals, sprouts, beans, and tofu regularly. This balances nutrition while reducing dependence on heavy meats.

5. Eat local and seasonal produce

  • Choose what’s naturally available, like mangoes in summer and carrots in winter, for freshness, better taste, and higher nutrition.
  • It is vital to stay attuned to nature’s seasonal rhythms.

6. Reduce food waste creatively

  • Yesterday’s dal can become dal paratha, or extra sabzi can be rolled into a whole-wheat wrap, and leftover rice can be made into cutlets with vegetables.
  • It’s fun and nourishing.

7. Stay hydrated wisely

Herbal teas like Chamomile and ginger tea have low-calorie content.(Pexels)

  • Replace sugary sodas with plain water.
  • The other option is light herbal teas for long-term metabolic health.

8. Make your plates balanced

  • An ideal Indian meal could look like this: start with a bowl of kachumber salad (fibre), followed by a serving of dal (plant protein and fibre), one dry sabzi like beans or bhindi (fibre + micronutrients), and a small portion of brown rice or jowar roti (complex carbs with additional fibre).
  • This mix ensures satiety, steady energy release, and a full spectrum of nutrients.
