‘Big Bang Theory’ Star’s Partner Exits to Launch Hiro’s Omakase

by jummy84 October 2, 2025

Jason Hiro Kim is going solo.

The producer and former manager has unveiled Hiro’s Omakase, a new indie production company eyeing stories across Japan, Korea and the U.S. — markets where the Korean exec, who came up by way of Japan and was educated stateside, has spent years building bridges.

Kim’s resume includes a 10-year-plus run repping talent at Lovett Management before making the jump to producing in 2020 alongside Kunal Nayyar. The “Big Bang Theory” alum brought Kim aboard to help run Good Karma Productions, where he’s overseen creative for half a decade on both scripted and unscripted fare. Good Karma’s pipeline includes a Nayyar-starring series being developed with Miramax.

With Kim’s exit, Good Karma is elevating Logan Kovarick from director of development to VP. He’ll keep tabs on the company’s growing development roster.

Under the Hiro’s Omakase banner, Kim plans to stay attached to select projects, including an adaptation of “Angel Island: Immigrant Gateway to America” by Erika Lee and Judy Yung. He’s also backing the Broadway bow of “The Lost Boys” and has a stake in an untitled Ketchup Entertainment feature.

“I’m eternally grateful to Kunal for almost two decades of a wonderful working partnership,” Kim said. “As I now focus my attention on this new venture, we will continue to collaborate in meaningful ways.”

Nayyar added: “Jason has been instrumental in my career for over the better part of 20 years, and it is with joy and admiration that I applaud him on his new venture. We will continue to find projects to work on in the future.”

From ‘Van’-illa To Grand: How Bollywood Stars Are Driving Up Vanity Van Demands

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

The mobile dressing room of the Bollywood star, once a basic requirement, has undergone a radical transformation. Today, the vanity van is less a room on wheels and more a highly customised, multi-crore mobile mansion—a stark symbol of a superstar’s status and demands.

Recent industry reports have pulled back the curtain on this lavish world, revealing the extraordinary specifications and sheer scale required by Bollywood’s elite, including Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Space Challenge

The sheer size of a star’s vanity van often correlates directly with their fame. Vanity van vendor Ketan Raval pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan’s van is so immense and luxurious that it frequently causes logistical headaches.

“Shah Rukh sir’s van is so big that sometimes, he can’t take it to those remote locations,” Raval noted. When a shoot location is too cramped or the access too tight, Raval must supply a standard, smaller van to accommodate the star, highlighting the limitations imposed by such a grand scale.

Ranveer’s Three-Van Entourage

Ranveer Singh, however, takes the mobile luxury concept further. A source cited in a Hollywood Reporter India report revealed that Singh requires a full entourage of three vans when on a shoot schedule: one for his personal use, one dedicated gym van, and a third van exclusively for his private chef. This necessity for specialized, separated spaces underscores the dramatic evolution of on-set celebrity requirements.

Bespoke Interiors: Black Toilets and Sheesham Wood

The interiors of these vans are far from standard; they are intensely customized to reflect the star’s personal and often idiosyncratic tastes.

Raval disclosed that he receives highly specific requests from celebrities, including one particularly unusual demand for a black toilet. This level of detail is clearly visible in the van of John Abraham. While Abraham wanted a floor-to-ceiling window to maximize natural light, he simultaneously insisted that every single surface—the walls, floor, sink, and yes, even the toilet—be entirely black. As Raval described the contrasting effect, the natural light enters a space “framed by an entirely dark box.”

In a different design vein, Kangana Ranaut’s van, detailed by designer Prateek Malewar, opts for rustic elegance. Its interiors are beautifully crafted using sheesham wood, adding warmth and texture to her mobile haven.

Vanity Vans Cost: Basic To Luxury

This elevated standard of living on set comes with a corresponding elite price tag and substantial upkeep costs. The average annual maintenance cost for a high-end celebrity vanity van is estimated to be around ₹10–15 lakh. The initial purchase price, however, is where the real investment lies:

1) Super Vans(Multi-Room, Expandable): The top-tier models, featuring Italian marble, luxury recliners, and even gym facilities, can be priced between ₹2–3 crore.

2) High-End Custom Vans: These specialized vehicles range from ₹75 lakh to ₹1 crore.

3) Mid-Range Vans: Equipped with essentials like sofas, a compact pantry, and a washroom, these cost approximately ₹35–50 lakh.

4) Basic Vans: A simple unit with a dressing area and air conditioning starts between ₹15–20 lakh.

Ketan Raval concluded that the vanity van has firmly moved past its initial function as a necessity. It is now a critical symbol of prestige, power, and the no-limits luxury enjoyed by Bollywood’s biggest stars.

Melody’s Echo Chamber Sees ‘Stars’

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

French musician Melody Prochet’s fourth album as Melody’s Echo Chamber, Unclouded, will arrive Dec. 5 from Domino Records and, as previously reported, was produced and co-written with Swedish musician Sven Wunder. A new song, “In the Stars,” is out now.

“The music I create unusually inhabits the liminal zone between realism and fables,” says Prochet. “But the more experience I have of living, the deeper I love life and the less I need to escape. If my heart still belongs to the blue hour, it also feels like I’ve gathered up all the pieces of myself that were scattered everywhere and glued them together with gold like Japanese kintsugi.”

In addition to Wunder and his partner, multi-instrumentalist Josefin Runsteen, Unclouded boasts contributions from Leon Michels’ El Michels Affair, Dina Ögon’s Daniel Ögen and Love Orsan, Heliocentrics drummer Malcolm Catto and Dungen guitarist Reine Fiske.

“It is a little bit outside of the Sven sound, but I think people will be able to hear that I had some part in the making of it,” Wunder recently told SPIN of Unclouded. “We had a bit of a different way to compose songs, but it turned out really nice. It was a really fun experience because to work with such a vocalist is something I haven’t done that much. Sometimes we would bang our heads, but she always knew where she was heading.”

Prochet will support the album with a 2026 tour, beginning April 14 in Berlin and concluding May 23 in Seattle.

Here are Melody’s Echo Chamber’s tour dates:

Joey Graziadei Talks New ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Role, Injury Secrets and More (Exclusive)

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Joey Graziadei wasn’t quite ready to leave the ballroom. After The Bachelor Season 28 star won the Season 33 Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with pro Jenna Johnson he’s back as the first-ever host of the Dancing With the Stars Official Podcast. He’s taken on an entirely new role, not unlike going from The Bachelorette to the lead of The Bachelor.

Instead of competing every week, Graziadei will be watching the performances closely and diving into what’s going on behind the scenes. Graziadei spoke with TV Insider about stepping into the hosting space, how he’s viewing the show in a completely new light, his secret injuries last season, and more.

How did you react to getting the call about staying in the Dancing With the Stars world with this podcast?

Graziadei: I was so excited when that call came through. Obviously, I stayed in touch with the whole family in general, especially the executive producers, and they knew that I really was looking to, after my time on Dancing With the Stars, get more into the hosting space and try to find those opportunities, just in any space, be able to do some more hosting. When the Dancing With the Stars call came to do something on the podcast side, it just seemed like a great fit. I was honored that they thought of me, super excited, and eager to get started, build that skill, and have an opportunity to really be a part of this new season, which everyone’s so excited about. There were a lot of emotions. There was excitement, there was relief, there were a lot of things that came through, but I’m honestly most of all just grateful that I got the opportunity.

ABC

Since you’re covering the season for the podcast, are you in the ballroom every week?

Graziadei: I’m going to be there almost every single Monday and Tuesday. That is the plan and what I want to be a part of. I guess the best way to describe it is I knew how it was on the show, where during the weeks, from Wednesday through Sunday, you’re kind of in your own little bubble, you’re in the studio, you’re working on your dance, but Monday is kind of when everyone comes together. That’s when they do the camera blocking. That’s when we start to get a feel for the ballroom and the dances that week. I really have made it a goal to try to be there on those blocking days, be able to catch up with everyone, and get a feel for what the dances are going to be like. And then the same thing for Tuesdays as well. I’m trying to be there the majority of the dance on Tuesday to get a feel for the sense of the ballroom when people are getting started. I think it’s just good to have a finger on that pulse before those dances come up, and then we’re shooting the podcast majority on Tuesdays after the show because we’re trying to get the reactions and what happens in real time. And then also it’s going to get to the point where we start talking to the eliminated couples, and we have to be there and available when that time comes.

You obviously have the perspective of someone who’s competed and won the show, but does watching and observing for the podcast make you look at the show differently now?

Graziadei: I definitely look at it with a different lens. After being on the show, it’s helpful to understand and relate to what the celebrities are going through, in terms of, for me, personally, how different it is. It’s funny. Sometimes I’m like, “Man, I wish I were just dancing.” It’s so exciting to see the energy in the ballroom and how excited all the celebrities are. And per usual, this is another one of those seasons that is a lot of great talent, but there’s a lot of great camaraderie. The different lens, for me, really is just an understanding of how difficult it is and trying to find a way to show how amazing the show is. In this podcast, we’re also touching on a lot of different things besides just the competition and what happens from week to week. We really want to start going and uncovering and talking about those things that people don’t see unless you have been on the show, or unless you go to a live show, whether that’s how the production crew works, how the stage managers work, everything from hair and makeup to costumes, there’s so many moving parts of this show that you have to be a pretty die hard fan to know about. And even the die-hard fans probably don’t get to see and uncover all those things. There’s a lot going into what we’re trying to do on the podcast. That’s probably one of my favorite things is just trying to shed light on how amazing these people are that really make up the show.

Danielle Fishel spoke about her injury in her video package. What did you do to stay injury-free last season?

Graziadei: I’ll be the first to admit I had plenty of injuries. It’s one of those things that, if it’s really bad, it gets talked about. I feel for Danielle, because I think there isn’t one person I know who has been on the show who hasn’t gotten some injury. It could be something really serious, like what happened with Danielle, and to have a small hamstring tear this early is obviously devastating, and I hope it just gets better for her. I remember after Week 3, I injured my heel during a backflip and had to dance my tango on a bruised heel. I think I had a small fracture in my heel, which could have been something that was nagging from before, but it just happened with the show. Most people don’t know is how many hours you put in consistently, and you’ve just got to keep dancing. It’s one of those things that you can be hurting, and everyone has a little nagging pain, or something serious like Danielle, but you want to be able to put as much time and energy into your dance as you can, to feel confident in what’s coming into it. For me, in terms of prevention, it took that Week 3 drive for me to have an injury. I was 29 years old the time, so I wanted to be invincible still, but I was like, “I need to still take care of my body.” They have a great PT team, and the people who have the ability to help on the show are unbelievable. You can go in to try to be able to have work done whenever something’s hurting, and just the stretching every single time before practice, and trying to make sure that you’re taking care of your body, you’re giving it rest, you’re icing, you’re elevating all those fun things from my heel to my shoulder to I think I had a little bit of a nagging knee pain at one point. I think the ones you see on the show are the ones that really get to the point that they have to adjust. It’s something that it’s obvious that there’s something that’s wrong, so they have to make a part of the story. People don’t know half the injuries that happen on the show, but it’s nice to highlight sometimes how hard it is. I give major props to Danielle for being able to push through and do as amazing as she did in the dance.

Eric McCandless / Disney

Was there anybody in these first two weeks who just took you by surprise?

Graziadei: I mean, how long do you have? I feel like this whole cast is unbelievable. Obviously, everyone has some type of dance background in a lot of ways. Out of this crew, there’s people that have danced back early on their life and have taken a long break. There’s people that have have zero dance experience whatsoever. I think I would say the two biggest surprises for me, and I shouldn’t say surprises because I think all the others are so talented, but one in particular was Lauren [Jauregui] in the first two dances. She’s a beautiful dancer, and I knew she was going to be a beautiful dancer, but I’m more amazed at how effortless she makes it look. I think, especially with the new style of the ballroom, how she’s moving across the dance floor and how elegant she’s been is so spectacular and something that I’m really amazed by in the first two dances because she’s done two dances where she’s had to be in frame, and she’s had to work with Brandon [Armstrong] to move across the floor. Obviously, everyone was blown away by Robert Irwin in Week 1, with the fact that him having no dance experience and looked as good as he did in his drive was unbelievable. That was such a dance that fit him, and props to Witney [Carson] for getting him ready in such a short period of time and for having him look the way he did. Dylan Efron is another where you can tell how much energy and effort he’s putting into it, and how he’s improved from Week 1 to Week 2 already is amazing. But if I’m being honest, I could go through each one of the cast and tell you how surprised I am by how strong they are. I just see the competition getting tougher.

You’re hosting this podcast, and you’ve said you want to continue to be in the hosting space. If somebody got sick or something, as we saw with Carrie Ann Inaba during premiere week, if they called you and asked you to guest cohost, would you do it?

Graziadei: I mean, right now, I’m open to any opportunity that would come my way. Obviously, I’m hoping that the people who are there are in good health and stay in the position that they’re doing because they’re doing such an amazing job. The judges and the hosts, with Alfonso [Ribeiro], Julianne [Hough], Carrie Ann, Bruno [Tonioli], and Derek [Hough], they’re the heart of the show from week to week. I’ve actually really enjoyed, on my side, being able to learn from them and to talk to them and see how they operate being on this side now. I’m definitely taking notes. I’m definitely holding on to what I can so I can learn. I’m just impressed at what they do every day. I’m so grateful to be in this hosting position right now in the podcast space to build this skill. If an opportunity arises at some point down the line, I will always be open to it, especially if they think of me and they think I’m able and willing to do it. That would be an honor. But right now, I’m just in that process of trying to learn and take it in each day.

Tune in every Thursday to the Dancing with the Stars Official Podcast, available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.

Selena Gomez’s Colorist Nikki Lee Spills the Star’s Wedding Day Hair Secrets (and Tips Every Bride Can Steal)

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Beautiful bride! Selena Gomez tied the knot with Benny Blanco on Saturday, Sept. 27, in a stunning Santa Barbara, California ceremony. But before she walked down the aisle, the Rare Beauty founder made sure her luscious locks were every bit as magical as her fairytale moment

A week before the big day, the Only Murders in the Building actress enjoyed pre-wedding hair TLC with her longtime colorist and Nine Zero One co-owner Nikki Lee.

“There’s a lot that goes into wedding prep, and your hair color is no exception,” Lee tells ET.

Petra Collins

“When I helped Selena get ready for her wedding, we talked about how she planned to wear her hair down, so it was extra important that her color was rich, luminous, and frizz-free.”

To achieve this, Lee whipped up a custom blend of Wella Shinefinity (6/0, 5/37, and clear) for a warm, elegant tone with mirror-like shine, followed by an Ultimate Smooth treatment to boost reflection and keep the singer’s hair smooth.

The end result? “Sophisticated, radiant, and completely timeless. She was the most stunning bride,” the hair guru gushes.

To emulate Gomez’s flawless look, Lee suggests brides-to-be give their strands extra attention leading up to the celebration.

Selena Gomez/Instagram

“Begin treatments as soon as you can. Wella’s Ultimate Repair line is my go-to for strengthening and prepping strands before doing any big color work.”

Next, choose a shade that feels classic to you with the help of an expert.

“Schedule a consultation with your colorist to talk through your inspiration and find the look that flatters you best,” she advises.

Lee encourages every bride to ask themselves, “When I look back at my photos in 20 years, will this feel like a fleeting trend or like my most beautiful, authentic self?”

Nikki Lee/Instagram

Timing matters too, so be sure to book your appointment 8 weeks out.

“This gives you enough time to live with your new color and make sure it feels perfect,” the hair expert explains.

And her golden rule? “Skip the last-minute drastic changes,” Lee laughs.

Instead, she suggests one last polish just before your wedding.

“This is the moment to refine your color, add shine, and keep stress levels low. … Stick with a gloss and treatment.”

Keanu Reeves is still one of Hollywood’s most iconic leading men, and in 2025, he continues to surprise fans both on screen and off. After years of quietly dating artist Alexandra Grant, the two remain a steady presence together — and their rare red-carpet outings often spark interest. Recently, budding wedding rumors have followed the couple, though they’ve clarified they are not married.

This year, the Bill & Ted Face The Music star makes his Broadway debut in the revival of Waiting for Godot, starring opposite longtime friend Alex Winter. On the film front, he’s also appearing in the John Wick universe spin-off Ballerina and the upcoming supernatural comedy Good Fortune.

Onscreen, Keanu has paired up with some of the most gorgeous leading ladies in the industry, like Sandra Bullock, twice, in Speed and The Lake House, Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give, and Ali Wong in Always Be My Maybe. Offscreen, his track record is just as enviable. Take a look at the actor’s romantic history and the famous beauties he’s been linked to over the years below.

Keanu and Alexandra went public with their relationship in November 2019. The couple, who run a publishing house called X Artists’ Books together, have been close friends for decades, and have actually been dating “for years,” her friend, actress Jennifer Tilly, revealed in February 2020. Alexandra told British Vogue in March that “every single person I knew” called her when they saw her walk a red carpet with Keanu for the first time. Since then, they’ve hit plenty of events together, and she’s even traveled with him to Berlin while he films The Matrix 4.

Claire Forlani

Keanu and Meet Joe Black star Claire Forlani were linked from 2004 to 2006, and rumors even swirled that the two were engaged. Keanu, according to one report, popped the question to Claire by getting down on one knee in the middle of Wolfgang Puck’s Hollywood restaurant Cut. Unfortunately for shippers, that wasn’t true. He laughed off the engagement — and even romance — speculation in a 2006 interview with The New York Daily News, saying that he and Claire were “good friends.” Claire ended up marrying Scottish actor Dougray Scott and starting a family, as seen on her Instagram.

Jennifer Syme

Keanu began dating Lost Highway actress Jennifer Syme in 1998. The couple announced they were expecting their first child together the following year. Tragically, their daughter, Ava Reeves, was stillborn at eight months in January 2020, and they unfortunately ended their relationship after not being able to withstand the grief of losing their child. They remained on good terms, though. Shockingly, Jennifer died in April 2001 at the age of 28 after losing control of her car. She and Keanu had met up for lunch just one day prior.

Amanda de Cadenet

Keanu was linked to Amanda de Cadenet in the late 1990s, but according to The Word host, it didn’t last long. Oh — and it was messy. In her memoir, It’s Messy: Essays on Boys, Boobs and Badass Women, Amanda wrote, “We met when I was two months pregnant, 19 years old, and married to another man [John Taylor of Duran Duran]. Within minutes of first laying eyes on [Keanu], I remember thinking, ‘I wonder how many pregnant women have affairs?’ I was surprised by my strong attraction to a man I had just met.” However, Keanu, “a man with hardcore ethics,” didn’t ask her out on a date until after her divorce in 1997. They’ve remained good friends since.

Sofia Coppola

Keanu’s relationship with then-burgeoning director Sofia Coppola was short, but sweet. The couple met when Keanu starred in her father, Francis Ford Coppola‘s film Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1991. They briefly dated before splitting up the following year. Sofia would go on to marry fellow director Spike Jonze. After their divorce, she later married Phoenix lead singer Thomas Mars.

Winona Ryder

Keanu and Winona Ryder never really dated — but they could technically be married! Winona told EW in 2018 that their characters in Bram Stoker’s Dracula were wed by an actual priest. “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married,” she joked in a joint interview with Keanu while promoting their romcom Destination Wedding. The best part? They said their vows on Valentine’s Day!

Young Stars of ‘Wayward’ on Stepping Into Mae Martin’s Teen Nightmare

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

When it comes to Toronto teens Abbie (Sydney Topliffe) and Leila (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in Netflix‘s new series “Wayward,” the word the actors behind the characters repeatedly use in conversation is “codependent.” Yes, the duo are best friends and chosen family — but they can’t survive without each other in a way that has already impacted their futures, especially at the disquieting Tall Pines Academy.

Abbie and Leila’s need for each other is established from the start of Mae Martin‘s Netflix thriller series, which sees the girls locked up and subjected to abusive behavioral therapy once they reach the Academy. Before that, Abbie is being ruthlessly scrutinized and controlled by her parents, while Leila’s mother has mostly checked out after her elder daughter’s sudden death.

Gavagai

“When you don’t have that love from from a family member, or from anybody that is blood-related in your life, then you kind of search for it anywhere else,” Lind told IndieWire in a joint interview with Topliffe. “I think she found Abbie at a very young age, and just was like, ‘You’re mine,’ and latched onto her.”

Chosen family is a major theme in the series, from Abbie and Leila to their peers at the Academy to Alex (Martin) and his experiences growing up queer in the Midwest and wife Laura (Sarah Gadon) remaining close to her own Academy cohort.

“You could have a family that’s your blood, but at the end of the day, it’s about the people that you choose to be in your life and people that you love in that way. Abbie is Leila’s chosen family,” Lind said.

The theme was naturally mirrored behind-the-scenes, where the young cast quickly bonded and turned their traumatic on-screen experiences into Canadian summer camp with the cameras off. As creepy as the Academy set was (“I love ghosts, it felt haunted,” Lind said), it helped actors tap into the right head space before clocking out to enjoy the field trip an hour outside of Toronto.

“When you’re in a really serious position, especially with these two girls, they find the levity in it, even in a horrible situation,” Topliffe said. “There were a couple scenes that were really intense, like the Hot Seat scene days were hard, those were long days.”

Episode 6 traps the teens in the Academy for what amounts to a prison riot, with many of the students and staff played by actual stunt performers. Prior to that, Topliffe was among the actors who took an outdoor adventure when the Academy staff leaves them in the wilderness.

“That was a lot of fun. We would be climbing these hills like on our stomachs, and then we would just find empty beer bottles and break our — well, I probably shouldn’t say that for insurance,” Topliffe said. “But that was really fun. We all got a lot of mosquito bites, but it was great. I loved being dirty.”

After filming the pilot together — not to mention going through their final round of auditions, switching between Abbie and Leila and not realizing they had nabbed the roles — Lind and Topliffe’s on-set fate mirrored their characters’ as they had to work separately.

“In the story, we are each other’s security blankets, so it kind of feels weird when we’re not together. That came through in real life,” Lind said. “By the second episode, it was like, ‘Wait, where’s my friend? I don’t know how to do this without her!’ It was like starting a whole new show.”

“Wayward” hits a sweet spot for both actors; Topliffe plays a high school student in Aura Entertainment’s “Doin’ It,” now in theaters after its 2023 SXSW premiere, and 18-year-old Lind has somehow logged her third time playing a teen struggling with addiction.

“I don’t know why I keep getting typecast as this, but… I like being able to sink my teeth into it, so keep casting me as it,” she said. “I will try to deliver in the best way possible. It’s fine. Easy roles are boring, so it’s really fun.”

With “Wayward” out in the world (and some potential for a second season), the fun is exactly what both actors remember, and what they hope to find in future work.

“I’m sure the crew hated us because we were just so annoying,” Topliffe said. “We took the work seriously, but we also didn’t want to sit in that all day, so we would make stupid movies.”

“We would be sobbing and crying and upset in a scene and going through all these emotions — and then Sydney would be like, ‘Do you want to pretend to be Zac Efron on that hill over there and do ‘Bet on It’?” Lind recalled. “I’d be like, ‘Yes, I do! Bet on it, bet on it!‘ It was my favorite part of the whole experience. It was so much fun.”

“Wayward” is now streaming on Netflix.

Likewise, Jenna had kind words about Corey, writing in her initial post, “Our time together was cut short but I am SO grateful for the incredible weeks we did get to share!!”

“Thank you for the giggles everyday in rehearsal, thank you for the hard work, and thank you for sharing your life lessons and memories with me,” she continued. “I’ll cherish our friendship forever. Never stop dancing.”

Whispers of a fallout surfaced earlier this month, when Jenna shared that Corey was MIA following the cast announcement on Good Morning America Sept. 3.

“So many people have been, like, ‘Where are your TikToks with Corey? What’s happening?’” Jenna wrote on her Instagram Story Sept. 6, per Us Weekly. “To be completely honest, I actually haven’t seen him since Good Morning America.”

Mel Owens may be handing out roses on The Golden Bachelor Season 2, but away from the cameras, he’s first and foremost a devoted dad. The former NFL player turned reality TV star shares two sons with his ex-wife. As the 66-year-old embarks on his televised search for love, fans are just as curious about his family life and the children who have always been at the center of his world.

Below, get to know Mel’s kids.

Mel Owens’ Career

Before becoming The Golden Bachelor Season 2 lead, Mel built a successful career both on and off the football field. He played as a linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL from 1981 to 1989, where he became known for his consistency and leadership.

After retiring from professional sports, Mel transitioned into a career in law, working as an attorney specializing in workers’ compensation and disability law.

Who Are Mel Owens’ Children?

Mel is a proud father of two sons, Lucas and Andre, from his first marriage. While they live more private lives, Mel has spoken about how important fatherhood is to him and how being a dad has shaped his perspective on life.

According to his ABC bio, his children are a central part of his world, and he hopes to find a partner who embraces his family values as much as he does.

Who Is Mel Owens’ Ex-Wife?

Mel was married to Fabiana Pimentel for 25 years before she filed for divorce in 2020. Their split was finalized in December 2024, after a lengthy process. The divorce settlement included joint custody of their two sons, and though Fabiana has largely stayed out of the spotlight, she has publicly distanced herself from Mel’s role on The Golden Bachelor.

Why Did ABC Choose Mel Owens as The Golden Bachelor?

ABC highlighted Mel’s story as one that resonates with viewers — a man who had a long, committed marriage, raised a family, and is now ready to open his heart again in his golden years. In his official bio, the network described him as a “devoted dad” who wants to rediscover love through simple joys like companionship, making plans for the future, and growing stronger as a couple.
