The Social Network Follow-Up to Star Jeremy Strong As Mark Zuckerberg

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Facebook doesn’t look anything like it did in 2010 when “The Social Network” came out, and now neither does Mark Zuckerberg. Though some names had been floating around in the trades, Sony Pictures confirmed that “Succession” star Jeremy Strong, not Jesse Eisenberg, will portray Mark Zuckerberg in Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to “The Social Network.”

Also announced on Friday: a title for the new film, a release date, and the cast announcement. The film is called “The Social Reckoning,” which is being written and directed this time by Sorkin. It will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside Strong, who is actually billed third among the cast list, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Bill Burr will all star.

It’s a helluva cast, with Madison still riding high off “Anora” and White and Strong about to share the screen in “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” the Bruce Springsteen biopic.

Sorkin’s original screenplay for “The Social Reckoning” tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin and Stuart Besser are producing the film.

“The Social Reckoning” is opening the same day as a Jessica Chastain horror film called “Other Mommy” and one of the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” animated films.

Sorkin has been teasing a follow-up to “The Social Network” since 2024 and has publicly said that he blames Facebook for the January 6 insurrection on Capitol Hill. And while this screenplay is considered original, the last time we wrote about the film, he was said to be inspired by some Wall Street Journal articles called The Facebook Files that showed some of the special rules Facebook execs had and that it was aware of its toxic effect on teens and on the emotional toll it had on friends and families with differing views — and algorithms.

“The Social Network” was directed by David Fincher and written by Sorkin, and it earned a Best Picture nomination and a Best Actor nomination for Eisenberg’s calculated performance as the Facebook founder. Sorkin though won Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars among the film’s three statues. It made $224.9 million worldwide.

‘Love Island’ Star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu Reveals Her Tips for Thriving on Reality TV

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

A little competition never hurt anyone! Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu first rose to fame after winning Love Island in 2022 and has since become a familiar face on reality television with stints on Dancing on Ice, The Wheel, The Traitors US, Celebrity Big Brother, and Love Island: All Stars.

Now, the British-Turkish actress is taking her talents to Netflix’s new high-stakes series, Inside: USA, and she’s sharing her advice for surviving (and thriving) on TV.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu/Instagram

“I’ve always had that fire in me. … I’d describe my competitive spirit as strategic and observant. I love to have fun, but I also want to win,” she tells ET.

Offscreen, the 30-year-old is just as fierce, but her opponents are different.

“I’m competitive with myself more than anything. I’m always pushing to be better, whether that’s in my career or personal life. I love to set big goals and challenge myself. I don’t like to settle until I’ve reached them,” she says.

Since adopting that strong mindset, it’s been easy for Cülcüloğlu to ignore any haters.

“Once you know your worth, the outside chatter doesn’t matter as much. When the comments come in, I try to focus on the positives and the love people send rather than the negativity,” the model notes.

“I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone, and that’s okay. I remind myself that most negativity says more about the person writing it than about me,” she adds.

Above all, the television star embraces her journey on and off camera.

“People have literally watched me fall in love, make mistakes, and reinvent myself. I’m not afraid to change and grow. I want to keep surprising people and show different sides of who I am.”

“Abbott Elementary” Creator & Star Quinta Brunson Finalizes Divorce Just 6 Months After Filing

#QuintaBrunson is a reminder that not all celebrity divorces end in drama.

TMZ reports that the mastermind behind #AbbottElementary filed court documents confirming she and her estranged husband, Kevin Anik, have reached a written agreement to divide property and finalize their divorce. This comes just six months after she filed to end their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. A postnuptial agreement is reportedly in place to determine how assets will be divided. They were married for nearly three and a half years and had no children together.

All that remains is a judge’s sign-off before the split becomes official.

How Does Mel Owens Earn a Living?

Before entering the reality TV world, Mel was a professional football player for the NFL. From 1981 through 1989, he played as a linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams. At the time, the average NFL player’s annual salary was reportedly around $160,000.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mel’s salary increased throughout the 1990s with an annual income of around $300,000. By that time, he’d already left the NFL and took up different business ventures. He became a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch & Co and was admitted to the State Bar of California in the early 2000s. Mel became a sports attorney in Laguna Hills, California, specializing in workers’ compensation and sports injuries, to name a few areas of his expertise.

What Is Mel Owens’ Net Worth?

Mel has a net worth of $2 million as of 2025, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

What Happened With Mel Owens’ Ex-Wife Before The Golden Bachelor?

Mel was married to his ex-wife, Fabiana Pimentel, a Brazilian businesswoman whom he called his “first love.” The couple share two sons, and they lived in California while they were together.

In February 2020, Fabiana filed for divorce and cited irreconcilable differences, according to court documents viewed by Hollywood Life. It took nearly five years for them to finalize their divorce with their split being final in December 2024. The court ordered Mel to pay about $1 million for unpaid child and spousal support, property division and attorney fees, according to multiple outlets.

Ahead of the season 2 Golden Bachelor premiere, Fabiana was asked by Daily Mail how she felt about her ex-husband’s participation on the show.

“Good luck. I mean, it’s going to be bad,” Fabiana told the outlet, adding, “But anyway, I don’t want to be involved in this.”

During an interview with Us Weekly, Mel said Fabiana filed for divorce from him after falling in love with another person.

Well, it’s never good, right? But, you know, I’m never going to get in the way of someone’s happiness,” Mel told the outlet. “If you want to find somebody else in a different phase in your life — it hurts — but I can’t get in the way of your happiness. And what’s your happiness may not be my happiness. That’d be a real conflict — you can’t stop somebody, say, ‘I’m over here now.’ You can beg and plead, but I’m fine. Life is short, and if you’re in love with somebody else, that’s fine.”

Rap star Cardi B admits she’s ‘very dramatic’

Cardi B is “very dramatic”.

Cardi B has confessed to being overly-dramatic

The 32-year-old rap star is well-known for her outbursts on social media, and she raised eyebrows earlier this year when she removed photos of boyfriend Stefon Diggs from her Instagram account – but Cardi insists people shouldn’t read too much into her online behaviour.

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cardi explained: “I’m dramatic. That’s the thing.

“Like, something that to people is a big deal, to me is not a big deal at the moment. And then it’s like, ‘Ugh.’ It became something that is not.”

Asked whether she archives the photos or deletes them from her phone entirely, Cardi explained: “I just archive. But I’m very dramatic. Like I’m the type of person that’s like, ‘Oh, okay.'”

Cardi’s decision to remove Stefon from her social media accounts actually annoyed her boyfriend at the time. But the loved-up couple are now able to laugh about it.

The rap star said: “He was like, ‘Why would you do that?’ But you know, that’s the type of thing that we laugh about.”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Cardi claimed that Offset, her estranged husband, wants her to “pay for [his] taxes”.

The chart-topping star filed for a divorce from Offset over a year ago, and she claims that financial disagreements are now slowing down the process.

Cardi said on a livestream: “The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes

“Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’mma fight for that. This is not no love s***. I’m not gonna stop living my life.”

Cardi claims that Offset – who stars in the rap group Migos – wants “millions of dollars” in order to finalise their divorce.

She said: “On a contract, I’m practically still married, because somebody [wants to] hold me hostage, if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it.”

Jack Lowden and Martin Freeman Star in New ‘Fifth Step’ Trailer

by jummy84 September 24, 2025
written by jummy84

The U.K.’s National Theatre Live has released a new trailer for “The Fifth Step,” featuring Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (“Slow Horses,” “Dunkirk”) and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit,” “The Responder”) in David Ireland’s critically acclaimed drama.

The trailer offers wider audiences their first glimpse of the intense two-hander. The production is set to reach cinemas worldwide from Nov. 27, presented by Neal Street Productions, Playful Productions and National Theatre of Scotland in association with Nica Burns.

Ireland’s play, from the writer behind “Ulster American,” follows the twelve-step journey of Alcoholics Anonymous, and centers on two men: James (Freeman), a long-time member of the program who agrees to mentor newcomer Luka (Lowden). Over cups of black coffee, the pair forge a fragile bond through shared experiences. But as Luka approaches the critical fifth step of the program, which demands complete honesty, both men must confront dangerous secrets from their past – revelations that could either strengthen their recovery or send them spiraling back toward addiction.

The production was filmed live during its sold-out London West End run at the intimate, in-the-round @sohoplace theatre. Directed by Finn den Hertog, the play originally premiered in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2024 through National Theatre of Scotland before its successful London transfer.

Lowden originated the role of Luka at the 2024 Edinburgh International Festival under the National Theatre of Scotland banner.

The project marks another high-profile addition to National Theatre Live’s roster of theatrical broadcasts, including “Inter Alia,” starring Rosamund Pike.

Claudia Cardinale, Tunisian-born star of Italian cinema dies at age 87

Claudia Cardinale, Tunisian-born star of Italian cinema dies at age 87

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

ROME, Sept 23 – Claudia Cardinale, a glamorous symbol of post-war Italian cinema who enjoyed a long and varied acting career on film and in the theatre, has died at age 87, according to AFP and other French media.

Claudia Cardinale, Tunisian-born star of Italian cinema dies at age 87

Raised in Tunisia to a family of Sicilian origin, Cardinale’s introduction to the movie world came in 1957 after she won a beauty contest in Tunis and was rewarded with a trip to the Venice film festival.

Her voice had to be dubbed for her first Italian screen roles because she had grown up in a family where Sicilian dialect was spoken and had been educated at a French-speaking school.

Her early career was also complicated by a secret pregnancy which she said was the result of an abusive relationship. She gave birth to a son, Patrick, in London in 1958 and passed him off as a younger brother for several years while he was brought up by her parents.

After a series of smaller roles, she shot to international fame in 1963 when she featured in Federico Fellini’s “8-1/2” while she also starred alongside Burt Lancaster in “The Leopard” in the same year.

Shooting two films at the same time brought complications, with Cardinale recalling that she had to have different hair colours for the two roles.

In an interview with Britain’s Guardian newspaper in 2013, Cardinale contrasted the approaches of directors Fellini and Luchino Visconti, who directed “The Leopard”.

“He couldn’t shoot without noise. With Visconti, the opposite, like doing theatre. We couldn’t say a word. Very serious,” she said.

Her growing profile opened the door to Hollywood productions and she appeared in the comedy caper “The Pink Panther”, directed by Blake Edwards, and Sergio Leone’s “Once Upon A Time In the West” in 1968.

OSTRACISED

Cardinale’s career took a hit in the 1970s, after she separated from film producer Franco Cristaldi to start a life-long relationship with filmmaker Pasquale Squitieri, with whom she had a daughter, also called Claudia.

Angry at being dumped for another man, Cristaldi asked friends and associates in the Italian cinema industry to ostracise Cardinale, resulting for example in Visconti turning her down for his last film, “The Innocent” .

“It was a very delicate moment. I discovered I had no money in my bank account,” Cardinale said about the period.

Franco Zeffirelli eventually came to her rescue, casting her in the 1977 television mini-series “Jesus of Nazareth”. She then continued working with other European directors, including Werner Herzog and Marco Bellocchio.

The husky-voiced, chain-smoking Cardinale had a reputation as a fiercely independent, free-spirited woman, who once defied Vatican protocol by showing up for a meeting with Pope Paul VI in a miniskirt.

A 2022 book celebrating her life was called “Claudia Cardinale. The Indomitable”.

Based for much of the time in France, and friends with presidents Francois Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, Cardinale turned to the theatre around the turn of this century, winning plaudits for her appearances on the stage.

She carried on making films in a variety of European languages until late in her life, appearing in Swiss TV series Bulle in 2020.

Awarded a lifetime achievement at the Berlin Film Festival back in 2002, she said acting had been a great career.

“I’ve lived more than 150 lives, prostitute, saint, romantic, every kind of woman, and that is marvellous to have this opportunity to change yourself,” she said.

“I’ve worked with the most important directors. They gave me everything.”

Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver Star Wars Film

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

“Star Wars” fans are one step closer to returning to a galaxy far, far away.

The first trailer for director Jon Favreau’s “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” the upcoming “Star Wars” film starring Pedro Pascal from his “Mandalorian” Disney+ series, has been revealed.

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” was first announced in January 2024 as the next “Star Wars” movie in development, and it’s set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. In addition to Pascal’s masked Mandalorian character and his adorable sidekick Grogu (better known as Baby Yoda), the cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as a fighter pilot, Jeremy Allen White as Jabba the Hutt’s son and Jonny Coyne as an imperial warlord.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said when the film was first revealed. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

The “Mandalorian” series takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” where a lone mercenary (a Mandalorian from the planet Mandalore) makes his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy. Along the way, he meets Grogu (a force-sensitive creature from the same species as Jedi Master Yoda), and the two form an unlikely bond as they trek across the galaxy far, far away, avoiding the vestiges of the Empire and meeting characters from across the Star Wars canon.

Favreau is producing the film alongside Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Filoni, Lucasfilm CCO and former supervising director of the beloved animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

NFL Star Stefon Diggs In Paternity Dispute w/ Influencer As He Awaits Baby w/ Cardi B

#StefonDiggs is unsure if he’s the father of a months-old baby girl.

The New England Patriots player is involved in a paternity dispute with model and influencer Aileen Lopera, who claims he is the father of her child born in April. While Stefon hasn’t denied having a s3xual relationship at one point with the woman, he is “not certain” the child is his. To get to the bottom of things, he requested genetic testing, and in July, a judge ordered both parties to undergo it. It’s unclear whether the testing took place or what the results were.

Stefon is known for keeping his private life private, so the chances of any confirmation coming from him are slim. He even jokingly dodged questions recently when asked about the baby he’s expecting with his girlfriend, rapper #CardiB. His silence isn’t stopping Aileen from speaking out. Her lawyer said in a statement to PEOPLE, “My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”
