LaKeith Stanfield to Star in Dennis Rodman Movie, Replacing Jonathan Majors

by jummy84 December 13, 2025
written by jummy84

LaKeith Stanfield is set to play NBA legend Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s “48 Hours in Vegas,” taking over the role after Jonathan Majors was dropped from the film following his 2023 assault conviction.

The upcoming comedy is “inspired by the untold story of Dennis Rodman’s legendary trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals — just as the Rodman’s Chicago Bulls are on the verge of completing their second consecutive threepeat championship in eight years,” according to a release.

Rick Famuyiwa (“The Mandalorian,” “Ahsoka”) will direct “48 Hours in Vegas” and write the next draft of the screenplay, following an earlier draft by Jordan VanDina.

The film will be produced by Lord Miller’s Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood. Executive producers include Ari Lubet, Rodman and Lucy Kitada, with Nikki Baida serving as co-producer. Meredith Wieck and Pavan Kalidindi will oversee the project for Lionsgate, while Robert Melnik negotiated the deals on behalf of the studio.

“I’m genuinely excited to help create an exhilarating, joyful work that both honors and thoughtfully examines the legacy of Rodman and fellow trailblazers,” Stanfield said in a statement. “Those who moved to the beat of their own drum, undeterred by the obstacles placed before them, then and now.”

Stanfield received an Oscar nomination for his performance in 2021’s “Judas and the Black Messiah.” He is known for roles in films including “The Book of Clarence,” “Sorry to Bother You” and “Get Out,” as well as the FX dramedy series “Atlanta.” He most recently appeared in “Roofman” and “Die My Love,” and will next be seen in “I Love Boosters.” Stanfield is represented by CAA, Stark Management and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.

“Dennis Rodman is more than a basketball player, more than a personality—he’s an entire cultural phenomenon. His bold style and physical presence, combined with an iconic persona, created a larger-than-life impact on and off the court,” said Erin Westerman, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “There’ll never be another like him. LaKeith and the incredibly talented team on this film will bring the legend to life in this most extraordinarily unbelievable story.”

Majors was previously attached to the Rodman film until he was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault stemming from a domestic dispute with his former partner. He was sentenced in April 2024 to one year of domestic violence counseling.

Insneider was first to report the casting news.

First Trailer for Exciting New ‘Star Wars: Galactic Racer’ Video Game

by Alex Billington
December 12, 2025
Source: YouTube

“The Galaxy needs racing!” Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer launching to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post trailers for video games – this new one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they’re bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. This looks like it’s going to be plenty of fun to play – maybe there will even be a podrace in it somewhere as hinted at with the final shot.

Here’s the first official trailer for Fuse Games’s game Star Wars: Galactic Racer, from YouTube:

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Poster

“No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.” Lucasfilm Games’ Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. At the heart of it all is Shade, a lone racer with a dream of glory and revenge. For Shade, the League isn’t just a race; it’s a shot at reclaiming destiny. But standing in Shade’s way is Kestar, a ruthless rival who has his own power-hungry plans for the League. As the Galactic League rises, so does the rivalry that could define it. Shade must forge alliances, outpace rivals, and survive long enough to become an elite racing pilot. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a racing video game created & developed by Fuse Games; published by Secret Mode and Lucasfilm Games. The game will be available for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S when it launches sometimes in 2026. Stay tuned for updates. For more info on the game + more news, visit the official site. Who’s excited to play?

Toby Wallace To Star In Netflix Series

by jummy84 November 25, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Toby Wallace (Euphoria, Bikeriders) has become the first actor officially set as a series regular in Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed live-action series, based on Ubisoft’s best-selling video game franchise.

Wallace is said to be playing the co-lead in Assassin’s Creed, a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. The series follows its characters — said to be different from the games — across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.

The series stems from a deal Netflix signed with Ubisoft in 2020. It is expected to start production in 2026 in Italy, which I hear serves as a setting of the series, with the exact time period unclear.

Roberto Patino and David Wiener serve as showrunners. They executive produce with Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.

With more than 230 million units sold, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the best-selling series in video game history.

This marks Wallace’s return to Netflix where he previously starred on the 2019 mystery YA drama series The Society. He recently wrapped shooting HBO’s Euphoria as a new Season 3 series regular.

Wallace’s recent feature credits include Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders alongside Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, and Austin Butler, Ron Howard’s Eden alongside Jude Law and Sydney Sweeney, Charles Williams’ Inside with Guy Pearce, as well as in Jusin Lin’s Last Days. .

On TV, Wallace also starred in Danny Boyle’s FX on Hulu limited series Pistol, in which he portrayed Sex Pistols’ guitarist Steve Jones. Aussie Wallace, winner of the 2020 AACTA Best Lead Actor award and the 2019 Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor at the Venice Film Festival for Babyteeth, is repped by CAA, 3 Arts, CP Artist Management, and Sloane Offer.

‘Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City’ Star Jen Shah Gets Early Prison Release Date After Serving 33 Months

by jummy84 November 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Jen Shah is getting out of prison earlier than expected after the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum got her sentence reduced again.

The former Bravo star was sentenced to 78 months in prison after being found guilty of her involvement in a telemarketing fraud scheme that conned people (mostly elders) out of their money.

Shah’s release date had been altered numerous times since her imprisonment, and the latest date, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, was set for August 30, 2026. However, People is now reporting that the BOP has approved a December 10 departure for the former RHOSLC star.

By the time Shah is released from prison, she will have served 33 months behind bars — 45 months less than her sentence.

Before surrendering to prison in February 2023, Shah posted a statement on social media: “I am surrendering to serve a sentence in a federal prison today. It is the price I must pay for the bad decisions I made. People got hurt because of my decisions. While incarcerated, I will work to make amends and reconcile with the victims of my crime.”

Shah’s trouble with the law was chronicled on Bravo’s RHOSLC as cameras captured the moment the reality star was notified that authorities were looking for her. Law enforcement arrived at the filming location, but Shah left the scene and later that day surrendered to authorities. Shah was arrested and indicted on wire fraud and money laundering charges in connection with a telemarketing scheme in which she found herself involved.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney gives update on season 3

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney gives update on season 3

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Almost four years on from Euphoria season 2, as fans continue to wait for the drama’s third run, a huge new update has just been provided by Cassie star Sydney Sweeney.

Speaking to Deadline about season 3, Sweeney said: “You know I can’t say anything, I can’t say anything at all. I wrapped last week though, it’s very exciting. We filmed since February.”

The end of production marks a major milestone for the drama. HBO head Casey Bloys previously said that the show is expected to return to screens in spring 2026, and that would seem to be on track given this news.

Back in September, Bloys also addressed the future of the show beyond season 3, which has been rumoured to be the final run.

Sydney Sweeney in Euphoria. HBO

He said of potential future seasons: “We always leave it up to producers, you never know. I’ve never had a show with that many legitimate movie stars.

“So as you can imagine, the scheduling is hard enough with actors having multiple jobs, but these are probably three or four of the biggest movie stars working of their generation, so we’ll see. But I’m excited to have the third season coming.”

Season 3 will be made up of eight episodes, with Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and Colman Domingo all reprising their roles alongside Sweeney.

Sweeney will next be seen in the sports biopic film Christy, which is coming to UK cinemas at the end of the month, having already been released in the US and brought in only a small sum at the box office.

She is also starring in The Housemaid, a psychological thriller in which she stars opposite Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.

Euphoria is available to watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW with an Entertainment Membership.

Does ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Have Cancer? – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Grey’s Anatomy star James Pickens Jr., who has been on the show for 20 years, is now the epitome of the famous phrase, “life imitates art,” but for an unfortunate reason. Like his character on the show, the 73-year-old actor revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“We caught it really early, and so they thought that would be the best route to take,” Pickens Jr. explained during an interview with BlackHealthMatters.com in November 2025. “I do have a rare variant that you don’t see very often. They wanted to err on the side of caution and keep an eye on it. It was rare enough that they wanted to make sure that they were crossing all the T’s and dotting all their I’s. But they hadn’t seen one that was detected as early as mine.”

Below, learn more about Pickens Jr.’s health in reality versus that of his on-screen character.

Who Is James Pickens Jr.’s Grey’s Anatomy Character?

Pickens Jr. plays the role of Dr. Richard Webber, whose cancer diagnosis was unveiled during the season 22 midseason finale. His specific type of cancer was not immediately revealed.

Does James Pickens Jr. Really Have Cancer?

Yes, Pickens Jr. revealed his prostate cancer was diagnosed early during a November 2025 interview with BlackHealthMatters.com.

“It’s not the kind of news anyone wants to hear, but to be honest, prostate cancer has run through my family,” the actor explained. “My father had it. He had a lot of brothers; several of them had it. I would have been surprised if I hadn’t gotten it. I’ve got a 90-year-old first cousin, who’s still alive, actually; he had it. His son has it. A couple of his brothers had it. No one, as far as I know, has succumbed to it.”

The Cleveland, Ohio, native received his diagnosis in 2024. During his interview, he recalled going back to the doctor and, “when my PSA numbers came back, my primary said, ‘Yeah, you know what? It’s ticked up some more. I want to send you back to the urologist.”

“The urologist looked at him and said,” Yeah, there’s something here. Let’s do an MRI,’ which we did, and it revealed, as he called it, something suspicious,” Pickens Jr. said.

What Is Prostate Cancer?

Prostate cancer is when cells within the male reproductive gland, the prostate, grow out of control. Pickens Jr. emphasized that early detection of a tumor is essential in battling the disease.

“I started getting my annual physical 34 years ago. And I started my PSA testing when I was 41; I’m 73 now,” he said. “My urologist said. ‘Because you were so diligent in that piece of your health, it was to your advantage. We were able to catch it so early because you were being tested.”

Is James Pickens Jr. Leaving Grey’s Anatomy?

Grey’s Anatomy fans are now concerned that Pickens Jr. will leave the show. Since the actor has been managing the illness since 2024 and caught the cancer early, it doesn’t appear that he will leave the series anytime soon. Only time will tell, though.

Former EastEnders star James Bye lands major new role

Former EastEnders star James Bye lands major new role

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Nine months after his character Martin Fowler was killed off in the 40th anniversary live episode of EastEnders, James Bye has officially landed a major new role, joining the cast of hit stage show 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Bye will be playing Sam in the show’s new UK tour in 2026, alongside Hollyoaks, The Bill and Footballers’ Wives star Gary Lucy, who has been cast as Ben. Lucy also had a role in EastEnders, playing Danny Pennant between 2012 and 2014.

The news of Bye and Lucy’s casting was announced on 2:22 A Ghost Story’s Instagram account, alongside the news that Shvorne Marks will be reprising her role as Jenny, having played the character opposite Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, while Natalie Casey will be playing Lauren.

The play, written by Uncanny’s Danny Robins, has been running since 2021, with other stars who have featured across various productions including Lily Allen, Stephanie Beatriz, Mandip Gill, Cheryl, Louisa Lytton, Jake Wood, James Buckley and Tom Felton.

The synopsis for the play reads as follows: “Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben.

“Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they’ll know.”

This is the second stage show that Bye will have starred in since finishing his time on EastEnders. This year, he has also been starring in a new production of Death Comes to Pemberley.

When his role in that show was announced, Bye said of playing Mr Darcy: “I am leaving EastEnders on an absolute high after the explosive live 40th anniversary episode.

“After a decade of gritty storylines, it’s going to be quite a switch to put on period clothes as one of literature’s romantic leading men, but I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”
