Cecilie Fjellhøy Talks Case Update and ‘Tinder Swindler’ Spinoff (Exclusive)

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Almost immediately after she appeared in The Tinder Swindler, Cecilie Fjellhøy got to work on Love Con Revenge, which almost serves as a companion piece to Netflix’s 2022 documentary.

“Because it was such a need,” she explained the quick turnaround in an interview with Swooon. “The amount of people I already have now, people reaching out to me wanting help. Can you imagine? Like, ‘I need help from you because no one else is helping.‘ So that’s what happened after The Tinder Swindler even before Love Con Revenge was born.”

‘The Rookie’ Spinoff ‘Gearing Up’ To Shoot Pilot, Timing Revealed

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The Rookie North, Alexi Hawley’s anticipated spinoff from his long-running ABC drama The Rookie, is getting closer to fruition.

“I think we are looking at shooting a pilot in the spring or late winter, so we are gearing up for that,” Hawley told Deadline of the project, which has not been officially picked up to pilot, on the red carpet at ABC’s End of Summer Soirée Friday night.

Deadline revealed exclusively in December that ABC was developing a second Rookie spinoff set in Washington state, written/executive produced by Hawley and executive produced by The Rookie star/executive producer Nathan Fillion and fellow EPs Bill Norcross and Michelle Chapman.

“I’ve been going back, and there’s a script, I’ve been doing some drafts and getting some notes,” Hawley told Deadline in May. “You know me, I’m a hopeful person, so I remain hopeful.”

By early July, The Rookie North was in serious pilot consideration at ABC. As Deadline reported at the time, the project had been gaining momentum for a pilot order, which was believed to be contingent on casting the lead role, a former overachiever in his 40s-50s who becomes a rookie cop after his life does not go as planned. A well-known TV actor was approached, but things didn’t work out.

I hear a pin has been put in the casting process to wait for the new cycle when more big names become available. ABC brass are looking to cast the role with someone of the caliber of Scott Speedman, who headlines the network’s only drama pilot ordered so far this year, RJ Decker, now filming.

Additionally, I hear the network and producing studios, Lionsgate TV and 20th Television, took their foot off the gas to give the script more time and not rush it to production.

Those considerations are consistent with the timeline provided by Hawley, and a formal pilot pickup is expected.

If The Rookie North comes to fruition, it would be the third series in the franchise, following spinoff The Rookie: Feds starring Niecy Nash, which was canceled after one season in 2023. Of that offshoot’s demise, Hawley said last year: “A lot had to do with the forces that led to strike … the consolidation of the industry, the economic impact of the streaming wars have had on different companies. I do feel it was not a creative decision. It was a business decision. I can’t argue with that. I’m not running anything. It was a treat for us. We love that show … it’s all I can really say.”

The mothership series, headlined by Fillion, will return for its eighth season in early 2026, re-teaming with High Potential and Will Trent on ABC’s Tuesday schedule.

‘The Paper’ creators explain why Oscar was perfect for ‘The Office’ spinoff – National

by jummy84 September 6, 2025

The Office may have ended, but its world is far from over because its spinoff, The Paper, carries on the mockumentary style and humour, introducing new characters on a new mission.

This time around, the same documentary crew that followed Michael Scott and his employees at Scranton’s Dunder Mifflin is focusing on a Midwest local newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, as it tries to get back on its feet with a team of (untrained) volunteer journalists.

Global News spoke with The Office director Greg Daniels, who is back at the helm of The Paper, and co-creator Michael Koman about the new series and their decision to bring back Oscar Nuñez , who is reprising his role from the original series.

“The bones of the show is that it’s a documentary and the documentary crew is the main connective tissue. We obviously have Oscar, which is wonderful, but the crew is looking for another subject for a documentary and they start in the paper company following the absorption of the paper company into a larger conglomerate that’s organized around things that use paper, like toilet paper and local newspapers,” Daniels said.

Daniels said it was an easy decision to bring Nuñez back because he’s a “great actor.”

“His character didn’t have the same closure that a lot of the other characters did in the finale of The Office. There’s still more adventures for him to go [on] without undoing anything that we had settled,” he added.

Daniels and Koman said that in the beginning of the show, Oscar is “horrified that he’s about to embark on it again.”

“He doesn’t really want to participate but the other characters are more innocent and they’re just explaining what they do at The Paper. They start off a little bit dispirited until Domhnall Gleeson shows up,” Daniels revealed.

The show was greenlit in 2023 and boasts a star-studded cast with Michelle Pfeiffer in the lead role.

Now, as reported by Deadline, the latest addition to The Madison is film and TV star Kurt Russell.

Kurt Russell in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Apple TV+

Russell, perhaps best known for roles in Escape from New York, The Thing, and Quentin Tarantino flicks The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, joins the cast fresh off the back of playing Lee Shaw in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

Although Russell is confirmed as part of The Madison’s cast, his role is yet to be determined.

Russell and Pfeiffer join the previously announced cast of Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Kevin Zegers.

Like with previous entries in the Yellowstone universe, The Madison is created and written by the show’s original creator Taylor Sheridan.

Kurt Russell Joins ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Series

by jummy84 September 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Kurt Russell is saddling up for Yellowstone spinoff series, The Madison.

The Emmy and Golden Globe nominee has joined the forthcoming series, from Taylor Sheridan and starring Michelle Pfeiffer, as both a castmember and executive producer.

Previously announced cast includes Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Kevin Zegers.

The Yellowstone universe has no signs of slowing down following the likely series finale of the flagship that aired back in December 2024. The Madison is one of several spinoff series currently in production, also including CBS’ Y: Marshals, starring Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton in the fall, and Paramount+’s Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler spinoff, Dutton Ranch (working title), which returns Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser to their roles and doesn’t yet have a premiere date. Another prequel, 1944, is in development following the likely conclusion of 1923.

The Madison is a modern-day spinoff with little known about how the characters will relate to the main Dutton family of the flagship series. Here is the official logline: “The series is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”

Michelle Randolph, who married into the Dutton family on Dutton prequel series 1923 as Elizabeth, mused about if her character could crossover to The Madison, given how her story ended. “I don’t know a ton about The Madison,” she told The Hollywood Reporter after the 1923 ender, “but I know they come from the East Coast. I so I’m like, is there some sort of web [connecting] Elizabeth?”

Russell joins the growing list of A-list talent within Sheridan’s Yellowstone-verse, also including Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren on 1923 and Ed Harris, newly cast in Dutton Ranch.

The movie star known for Overboard, Tequila Sunrise and The Hateful Eight to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is currently starring in the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters alongside his son, Wyatt Russell. He is repped by UTA.

The Madison is executive produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox, and is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.

The Office may have wrapped years ago, but its story continues with a brand-new spinoff. Titled The Paper, the series has officially premiered on Peacock, bringing fans back into the mockumentary universe that made its predecessor a global hit. While the original featured stars like Steve Carrell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, Ed Helms, this new chapter follows a fresh cast as the familiar documentary crew searches for their next subject.

This time, the cameras land on a struggling Midwestern newspaper called The Truth Teller, capturing the chaos as its staff tries to keep the operation alive. Just like The Office, The Paper blends workplace humor with heart, offering plenty of awkward moments and quirky characters.

Hollywood Life has all the details about The Office spinoff, The Paper, below — from its release date to the cast and more.

How Many Seasons of The Office Are There?

There are nine seasons in total of The Office. The show premiered in March 2005 and concluded in May 2013.

Recurring actors of the cast include Oscar Nuñez, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey and Nate Jackson.

Steve Carrell revealed in a May 2024 Today interview that Domhnall had called him for advice on the spinoff show.

“He called me up and (asked), ‘Well, should I do this?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I mean it’s Greg Daniels. You’ll have a ball,’” the Morning Show star said. “I think he’s gonna be great.”

The Office US spinoff The Paper has already been renewed before season premiere

3 September 2025

The Paper has already been renewed for a second season.

Domhnall Gleeson is starring in The Paper

The highly anticipated spinoff series to The Office US doesn’t premiere until Thursday (04.09.25) but that hasn’t stopped NBC deciding to greenlight a second run of episodes ahead of the release date.

The renewal was announced on the Today show by stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source has revealed showrunner Greg Daniels has already started working on ideas for season two.

It’s said the network was keen to keep up momentum, while an early renewal means the show can return at the same time in 2026.

The new series is a spinoff from the US version of The Office, which in turn was based on Ricky Gervais’ iconic mockumentary comedy of the same name.

In the upcoming 10 episodes, the fictional documentary crew from The Office US tackle new subjects in the form of The Truth Teller, a failing newspaper in Ohio.

Domhnall stars as salesman Ned Sampson, who is given a new task in his role in the toilet paper division of conglomerate Enervate.

He’s challenged with saving the firm’s small market newspaper, which doesn’t have many legitimate journalists on the staff.

Co-creator Greg recently revealed that he and Michael Koman – his fellow executive producer and showrunner – “definitely have ideas” for a second run.

He told Variety before the renewal was announced: “We definitely have ideas. We’ve been talking about stories for a possible Season 2, and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks.

“We’ve gotten really good feedback from people inside the company and journalists and friends, but you never know what the broader world of Office fans are going to think of it.”

Pearlena Igbokwe, chairman of TV studios, NBC Entertainment Peacock Scripted at NBCU, is hopeful the show will resonate with viewers.

She said: “Having seen all the episodes, I think [Greg’s] done an incredible job.

“These are characters you just grow to love and appreciate what he’s doing in the show. I think they do an incredible job of landing the season. So I am very hopeful and optimistic that the audience will feel the same.”

‘Office’ Spinoff ‘The Paper’ Getting Binge Release on Peacock

‘Office’ Spinoff ‘The Paper’ Getting Binge Release on Peacock

by jummy84 August 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Peacock is changing the release schedule for its Office follow-up The Paper.

The NBCUniversal-owned streamer says it will make the comedy a binge release, debuting the full 10-episode season on Sept. 4. The Paper had previously been slated to roll out over four weeks, with the first four episodes coming on the premiere day and two per week after that through Sept. 25.

Citing positive responses from people who have previewed the series (though not in print; reviews are embargoed until closer to the premiere), Peacock, Universal Television and the show’s producers decided to make the change and drop the entire season at once. The move will also put the entirety of The Paper in front of audiences several weeks before the start of the traditional TV season makes the premiere calendar even more crowded.

The Paper is set in the same world as The Office, with the documentary crew that filmed the workers of Dunder Mifflin taking on a new subject. It stars Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, the new editor of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a historic Ohio newspaper that has fallen on hard time. Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key and Oscar Nuñez — reprising his Office role — also star. Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim and Tracy Letts have guest roles. Ikumelo, Edelman, Rahill and Welch are also writers on the series.

Greg Daniels, who created the American Office, and Michael Koman co-created The Paper. They executive produce with The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas.
