Kylie Jenner is officially stepping into the world of acting with her first major film role. The beauty mogul and reality TV star has joined the cast of The Moment, an upcoming A24 film based on an original idea by pop singer Charli XCX. Kylie confirmed the news on October 9 by reposting a Deadline article via Instagram Stories, along with a behind-the-scenes photo with Charli, adorned with green heart emojis — a nod to Charli’s Brat aesthetic.

Directed by Aidan Zamiri and co-written by Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, The Moment is set to release in 2026 and promises a bold, pop-centric narrative. The story follows a rising pop star navigating the pressures of fame and the demands of preparing for her first arena tour — a fitting theme given Kylie’s own experience with public life and the entertainment industry.

This marks Kylie Jenner’s first scripted acting role outside of her reality TV fame in Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The Kardashians. Though she had a brief cameo as herself in the 2018 heist-comedy Ocean’s 8, The Moment is her first significant acting venture.

Kylie joins a star-studded ensemble cast including Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, and Charli XCX herself. The supporting cast features Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, and Shygirl, among others. A.G. Cook, Charli’s longtime collaborator, will be working on the film’s music.

Produced by Charli XCX’s Studio365 and 2AM’s David Hinojosa, with executive producers Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright, and Zach Nutman, The Moment is already generating buzz for its unique blend of music, fashion, and fame.

Charli announced the film with a teaser video set to her 2013 hit I Love It (with Icona Pop), captioned: “Based on an original idea by Charli XCX. The Moment. Coming 2026.”

Combining psychological depth with edge-of-your-seat tension, The Last Frontier is shaping up to be one of the year’s most intense new releases. Here’s everything to know about the series, including its release date, cast, plot, and how to watch.

What Is The Last Frontier About?

The Last Frontier begins with a shocking prison transport plane crash in the remote Alaskan wilderness, unleashing dozens of dangerous inmates into the frozen terrain. In the aftermath, a veteran U.S. Marshal and a small, isolated community are forced to confront the escalating chaos. But as tensions rise, the Marshal starts to suspect the crash was no accident and that a far more sinister conspiracy is unfolding beneath the surface.

The Last Frontier will be available exclusively on Apple TV+.

“What line of work are you in?” “Politics.” Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for their upcoming mini-series titled Death by Lightning, a fascinating tale of American history. It is the story of President James Garfield and his greatest admirer Charles Guiteau, the man who would come to kill him. It’s a look back at a turbulent time in the USA, after the Civil War, when James Garfield would rise from poverty to become the 20th president before being assassinated. The new series stars Michael Shannon as Garfield, Betty Gilpin as Crete Garfield, Matthew Macfadyen as Charles Giteau, Nick Offerman as Chester A. Arthur, Bradley Whitford as James Blaine, Shea Whigham as Roscoe Conkling. Death by Lightning is a drama series that brings to life the epic and stranger-than-fiction true story of Garfield. With many other guest stars. The title comes from an actual Garfield quote: “Assassination can no more be guarded against than death by lightning; it is best not to worry about either.” Quite prophetic. He was shot by a Republican officer seeker in 1881. This looks pretty damn good! Not only a fascinating look back at US political history, but also a kooky fun tale of men, power, fame, and politics. And of assassination, too, of course. View below.

First Real Teaser for ‘Pluribus’ Intriguing Sci-Fi Series w/ Rhea Seehorn

“You might want to stick close to home for the next few days…” Apple TV has unveiled their first real 60-second teaser for the new series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan titled Pluribus. They already debuted a total of 4 other short cryptic teasers over the last few months, still not really revealing what is going on. This next teaser doesn’t explain or reveal much more yet. The sci-fi drama series is titled Pluribus – the Latin word is an adjective that means “much, many” (commonly used in the U.S. slogan “E pluribus unum“). The only one-line intro available so far to setup the concept: The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn (who was also in “Better Call Saul”) along with Carlos Manuel Vesga, Karolina Wydra, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte. It still seems like this will turn out similar to something like Apple TV’s other sci-fi show Severance with some more lo-fi sci-fi aspects within this story. What is she up to in this & why is she the one that must fix everything? Huh.

Here’s the first actual teaser for Vince Gilligan’s series Pluribus, direct from Apple TV’s YouTube:

“How could this ever happen to me?” Hulu has revealed the full official trailer for a series titled All’s Fair, another new Ryan Murphy creation ready to rattle some cages. Ready to debut streaming in November this fall. The brash and opulent series follows a successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-female law firm in Los Angeles meant to help support women. A team of female divorce attorneys leave a male-dominated firm to open up their own powerhouse practice. Fierce, brilliant and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets and shifting allegiances—both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. The new series stars Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor (also starring in PTA’s One Battle After Another as Perfidia Beverly Hills), Matthew Noszka, with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close. This is a wild and wicked trailer, with so much opulence and luxury flying out of it, and plenty of yelling, too. Sarah Paulson looks like she’s having a ball letting loose on everyone in here. That final snappy reply from her at the table is pretty spicy. This might actually be good? Who’s watching?

Squid Game And Alice In Borderland: The Uncanny Similarity Between Their Series Finales – What Does It Mean? | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Netflix’s Squid Game and Alice in Borderland are frequently compared for having the same high-stakes survival ideas—but with both series having grown in the process, the Japanese series has appeared to leave the competition in the dust, particularly after the emotional end of its season three on September 25, 2025.

AIB, adapted from Haro Aso’s manga and helmed by Shinsuke Sato, launched in December 2020 on Netflix. It depicts Arisu, a jobless gamer who is thrown into a different Tokyo in which individuals must play deadly games. He becomes fast friends with fellow player Usagi, and both characters gradually develop, discovering purpose, love, and finally peace. Unlike Squid Game, Alice in Borderland is a manga adaptation, but its final season took creative liberties while still delivering a satisfying and hopeful ending.

Squid Game, the brainchild of Hwang Dong-hyuk, premiered in 2021 and took the world by storm. It is the story of Gi-hun, a financially strapped man who wins a deadly competition, but is left tormented by survivor’s guilt. Although Squid Game began as a scathing commentary on capitalism, fans say that its message lost intensity as time went on, particularly with Season 3, which concluded on a pessimistic note and previewed a U.S. spin-off rather than closure.

In both Squid Game and Alice in Borderland, a unique plot device is employed. The manga version of Alice in Borderland features a pregnant character, Usagi, and in the final game, her unborn baby becomes a contestant, aiding the players in achieving victory. Similarly, in the Korean show Squid Game, an unnamed baby takes her deceased mother’s place, influencing the storyline

Unsurprisingly, both series finished on scenes filmed in California—Squid Game launched a new iteration of the games with Cate Blanchett, while AIB suggested global upheaval and an enigmatic waitress called Alice, opening doors for future tales.

Fan reactions make the distinction even more evident. Alice in Borderland was lauded for providing closure and emotional resonance, while Squid Game was bashed for putting franchise potential ahead of story. As one fan described, “AIB healed a wound Squid Game left behind.”

Although both shows can proceed in different mediums, Alice in Borderland stands on firmer ground today—providing a thorough, emotional story fans won’t soon forget.

Eran Riklis on His Thriller Series Co-Penned by "Fauda'"s Moshe Zonder

Eran Riklis on His Thriller Series Co-Penned by “Fauda'”s Moshe Zonder

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Prominent Israeli filmmaker Eran Riklis, known for his Middle-East set humanistic films “Lemon Tree,” “The Syrian Bride” and most recently “Reading Lolita in Tehran” feels angry and frustrated over the political leadership in Israel that has led nearly 4,000 entertainment industry names to boycott Israeli film institutions, viewed as “complicit in war crimes” in Gaza.

Riklis has been selected for the Tallinn’s TV Beats, Co-Financing Market (Nov. 7-8) with his upcoming TV drama “The Abduction of Yossele Schumacher,” commissioned by Israel commercial channel Keshet 12.

The filmmaker is eager to find European partners in Tallinn for his six-part drama thriller. But he alsohopes that anti-Israel sentiments from some parts of the global industry won’t impact his dream to bring to the screen yet another work building bridges between people.

“Israel is not in the best [political] position and I hope that nothing political will stand between me and making the series,” he tells Variety in a video call from his home in Tel-Aviv. Similarly, Riklis feels sorry for the controversy over Israel’s Oscar entry “The Sea” featuring a young Palestinian boy, risking his life to go to the beach in Tel Aviv, and subsequent threat from Israel’s culture minister Miki Zohar to axe funding to the Israeli Film Academy.

“I mentored ‘The Sea’s’ director Shai Carmeli Pollak when he attended the Sam Spiegel International Script Lab with the project. I loved the story and gave Shai confidence to direct it. I then saw the film at the Jerusalem Film Festival and cried for an hour and a half. It’s a simple yet complex story and absolutely beautiful.

The fact that the Israeli Film Academy voted for it [as Oscar entry] was a surprise, but it’s the best film that represents Israel right now. It’s good to join the [Oscar] race with this kind of story,” notes the filmmaker, a firm believer that art transcends political boundaries and that storytelling can open people’s hearts and minds.

“As a filmmaker, I want to remain optimistic,” says Riklis who was a 19-year old Israeli soldier during the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and lost many close friends. “I faced the Egyptian army for months. It was a horrible war. But then, who would have imagined that a few years later, in 1979, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat would sign a peace agreement [the Camp David Accords] with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who had very right-wing views. So I always try to remember these events,” insists Riklis. “There are always people trying to make changes and succeeding; we need to have hope.”

Thriller series based on true events

After “Reading Lolita in Tehran” which tackled women resisting the oppressive clerical regime in Iran, Ricklis’ next project, the TV show “The Abduction of Yossele Schumacher,” looks at a different religious extremism, closer to home for the filmmaker.

The story is based on the true case of the abduction in Israel of a seven-year-old Jewish boy, Yossele Schumacher, by his ultra-Orthodox grandfather in the early 1960s, to prevent him from being raised as a secular Jew by his parents. Following an intensive international search led by Israel’s secret services Mossad for nearly two years, the boy was eventually found in the U.S. and returned to his parents. According to the logline, the abduction “leads three women to clash over his fate and faith and to a fierce conflict between the Israeli Mossad and the impenetrable web of the orthodox community.”

Riklis, who was only six-to-seven years-old at the time of the events, has a vivid memory of the case that became a cause célèbre, dividing the Israeli society. “Overnight, from a small family dispute, the story became huge, opposing the secular and ultra-Orthodox population in Israel. Our Prime Minister at the time Ben Gurion was afraid the case would lead to a civil war, so he asked Mossad to intervene,” Riklis explains, before adding: “With no documentary made about the case, the Yossele Schumacher story felt like an old memory being lost, until three years and a half ago, when I spoke to someone who mentioned it. I contacted Yossele, found him and told him about my idea to bring his story to television. He said “yes and yes again. I’ve just been waiting for this to happen!”

Riklis then contacted seasoned screenwriter Moshe Zonder, known for “Fauda,” Apple TV+ spy thriller “Tehran” and the recent Series Mania winning show “The German.” The two had collaborated earlier on Riklis’ local hit “Zohat” (1993) and “Vulcan Junction” (1999). “I felt Moshe would be the perfect co-creator and co-writer of the series. He has a great skill in balancing drama and thriller, so I was thrilled when he agreed to board the project,” Riklis says.

Digging deeper into the plot and storyline, the filmmaker says “the main dramatic thread will be the search for the kid, but the series will contain three dramatic layers. Firstly, the core of the story will be about three equally flawed women. Madeleine Feraille, Yossele’s abductor, a former French resistance fighter who converted to Judaism after WWII. Then the boy’s mother, Ida Schumacher, and the Mossad agent Judith Avrahami. For various reasons, the three women are grieving a child. “That’s the emotional core of the series,” says Riklis.

The second layer will be the thriller, with the Mossad search for the boy between Israel, Italy, Germany, France, England and the U.S.. “You will be on the edge of your seat, like with a Liam Neeson thriller,” promises the filmmaker. Then the third element will be the complex socio-political context, “with themes about oppression, liberalism, fate versus religion, the Rule of Law vs the Rule of God, issues that are as topical today as 60 years ago.”

“Ultimately, it’s about pain, love, parenthood, loss, faith, fanaticism and about secrets and lies on so many levels,” adds the filmmaker who feels the project has “all the right ingredients to turn into exciting and profound must-see television for everyone.”

The project, with an estimated budget of around €1.5 million ($1.7 million) per episode, is being produced by Riklis’ own shingle Eran Riklis Production and Moshe Edery of United King Films, one of Israel’s most-established production and distribution outfits and a long-time partner to Riklis. Israel’s commercial channel Keshet 12, is on board.

“At Keshet, we are passionate about telling Israeli stories that reflect our unique culture while resonating with audiences everywhere,” says Keshet 12 head of drama and comedy Karni Ziv. “With Eran Riklis at the helm, this project promises to be a moving family drama with a strong, suspenseful edge, and we are excited about its potential to connect with viewers both in Israel and beyond.”

As one of eight projects selected for Tallinn’s TV Beats Co-Financing Market, part of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival’s Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the series will vie for the coveted Council of Europe Series Co-Production Development Award worth €50,000 ($58,700).

“At Tallinn, I hope to find co-producers who love the project. I’m particularly looking for partners from traditional sources of financing – public funders, broadcasters, and also streamers,” says Riklis who hopes to go into production in November 2026.

Sunil Pal Slams Aryan Khan’s Web Series “The Ba***ds of Bollywood,” Says He Mocked the Industry That Made His Father a Superstar

Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, made his directorial debut with the Netflix web series “The Ba***ds of Bollywood.” The show has received mixed reactions from audiences and critics alike. While many praised Aryan’s bold storytelling and satirical take on the film industry, comedian Sunil Pal has strongly criticized it for mocking Bollywood.

Sunil Pal

Sunil Pal Criticized Aryan Khan

In an interview with one of the media houses, Sunil Pal expressed his disappointment, saying, “You are criticizing the same Bollywood that made your father such a superstar!” He added that Aryan should have shown more respect toward the industry that has given his family so much fame and success. Let us tell you that Shah Rukh Khan, who has ruled Bollywood for more than 33 years, has delivered countless blockbusters and established himself as one of the most loved actors globally.

Interestingly, SRK himself appears in a cameo role in Aryan’s show, which also pokes fun at several well-known actors and industry practices. Despite this, none of the celebrities who were referenced or portrayed in the show have publicly objected to its content. Sunil Pal further stated that Aryan had all the resources and support to create something more inspiring. He said, “Aryan had no shortage of fame, money, or platform. If he had waited for five more years and worked harder, he could have made something even Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have appreciated.”

“The Bads of Bollywood” features an impressive ensemble cast including Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Manoj Pahwa. Several Bollywood celebrities, such as Karan Johar, Emraan Hashmi, and Shah Rukh Khan, make special cameo appearances. The series, streaming on Netflix, explores the darker and humorous sides of the glamour industry, blending satire with social commentary. While Aryan Khan’s debut has sparked controversy, it has also established him as a daring new voice in modern storytelling, one unafraid to question the very world he comes from.
