The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City - Season 6 Mary Cosby

‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary Cosby Subject of TLC Investigative Series

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

TLC has set a new investigative series around The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby.

The three-part docuseries, titled The Cult of the Real Housewife, looks into Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, the church Cosby shares with her husband, Robert Cosby Sr.

Per the logline, the series “unpacks the allegations behind the headlines, revealing the darker and more unsettling truth about the church.” Ex-congregants speak out for the first time in the series, including long-standing pillars of Faith Temple, the Enoch family, to provide “deeply person and disturbing accounts from family members,” including Mary’s sister, Denise Jefferson Okinada, and Mary’s cousin, Dan Cosby, along with his wife, Kim.

Here’s more from TLC: “The Cult of the Real Housewife traces the dramatic rise of Faith Temple from its founding by the beloved Rosemary ‘Mama’ Cosby, grandmother of Mary Cosby, to her passing, the controversial transfer of leadership, and her husband’s marriage to Mary. This hotly contested bequeathment pushed Faith Temple into a controversial, new era. … [The series] pulls back the salacious headlines and social media takes to dive deeper and unpack one of the most enduring mysteries at the core of the scandal: how have Mary and Robert Cosby Sr. managed to avoid accountability for so long?”

The docuseries also features investigative journalists and bloggers who have reported on the story, as well as a leading cult expert, and boasts access to recordings of “controversial sermons” delivered by Mary and Robert Cosby Sr., as well as extensive archival from the early days of Faith Temple.

The Cult of the Real Housewife hails from the directors of discovery+’s House of Hammer, which explored the accusations of sexual assault and cannibalism fantasies against actor Armie Hammer, and is directed and produced by Elli Hakami and Julian P. Hobbs for TLC.

The series premieres Jan. 1 from 8-11 p.m. on TLC, streaming the next day on HBO Max & discovery+.

The Cult of the Real Housewife follows TLC’s recent investigative series Hillsong: A Megachurch Exposed, which examined allegations of abuse, exploitation and celebrity influence.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to a rep for Cosby, as well as Bravo, home to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, which is currently airing its sixth season.

HBO has announced three new cast additions for Dune: Prophecy season 2, with Indira Varma, Ashley Walters and Tom Hollander joining the ranks.

The series, which is inspired by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson’s prequel novel Sisterhood of Dune, is set 10,000 years before the events of the original Dune novel series and its ongoing movie adaptations, helmed by Denis Villeneuve.

Varma is best known for playing Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones and is also set to appear in The Night Manager season 2, while Ashley Walters is best known for his role as drug kingpin Dushane in Top Boy.

Hollander, meanwhile, will be widely recognised for his recent role as posh scammer Quentin in The White Lotus season 2.

No character details have been revealed for their roles yet.

Alongside the casting news, the network also confirmed that production on the second season has officially begun, with filming locations for the new instalment including Hungary, Jordan and Spain.

And, unlike the six-episode first season, HBO is treating fans to more episodes in season 2, with the new instalment set to feature eight.

Jodhi May as Empress Natalya Arat Corrino & Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino in Dune: Prophecy. HBO

“Whose baby is this?” Netflix has revealed a fun official trailer for Man vs Baby, the follow-up series to Rowan Atkinson’s other comedy series Man vs Bee from 2022. Atkinson is best known as either Mr. Bean or Johnny English – after moving on from those characters he is now playing “Trevor Bingley”. This holiday comedy looks quite funny. After a disastrous experience housesitting a high-tech mansion hampered by an inconvenient insect in Man vs Bee, Trevor now finds himself looking after a luxurious London penthouse, with another unlikely companion he didn’t ask for… On the last day of term at his school job, when no one comes to collect the Baby Jesus from the school nativity, Trevor finds himself with another undersized and very unexpected companion. With a penthouse to protect & a baby to burp, will he be able to have the calm Christmas he hopes for, or will festivities descend into chaos? This stars Rowan Atkinson with Alanah Bloor and Joseph Balderrama. And one cute baby. Or maybe two cute babies?! Ha… This actually looks like a good time – better than most streaming Christmas comedies they’re making these days. Have a laugh.

Here’s the first official trailer for Rowan Atkinson’s series Man vs Baby, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:

After a job looking after a high-tech mansion ended in disaster thanks to an irritating insect in Man vs Bee, Trevor Bingley (Rowan Atkinson) has left the stressful world of housesitting for the quieter life of a school caretaker. That is, until a lucrative offer to look after a luxury London penthouse over Christmas proves too tempting to resist. But on the last day of term, when no one comes to collect the Baby Jesus from the school nativity, Trevor finds himself with another undersized and very unexpected companion. With a penthouse to protect and a baby to burp, will Trevor be able to have the calm Christmas he hopes for, or will festivities descend into chaos? Man vs Baby is a comedy series created and written by British comedy masterminds Rowan Atkinson and William Davies (also creator of “Man vs Bee”, “The Letter for the King”; writer on Puss in Boots, Lyle Lyle Crocodile, How to Train Your Dragon, Johnny English movies). Featuring episodes directed by David Kerr. Produced by Kate Fasulo; executive produced by Chris Clark and William Davies. Netflix will release Rowan Atkinson’s Man vs Baby comedy series streaming on Netflix worldwide starting December 11th, 2025 before the end of the year. Anyone want to watch this?

‘A Different World’ Sequel Snags Netflix Series Order

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Hillman College will enroll a new class of students with Netflix’s pickup of a sequel series to A Different World.

The streamer has given a series order to the comedy, which has been in the works for more than a year (and included a very rare pilot order from Netflix). The show will star Tony Award winner Maleah Joi Moon (Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway) as Deborah, the youngest daughter of original series leads Whitley (Jasmine Guy) and Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison), who enrolls at the HBCU her parents attended.

Felicia Pride (Bel-Air, Grey’s Anatomy) is the showrunner on A Different World. Several alumni of the 1987-93 NBC series join Pride as executive producers, including Debbie Allen, Reggie Rock Bythewood, Gina Prince-Bythewood and Tom Werner; Mandy Summers also exec produces. Allen, who directed the majority of the original show’s episodes, will helm the series premiere and two more episodes in the sequel’s first season.

“It is such an honor to be a part of bringing back this iconic show, one that I grew up on and which had a profound impact on my life,” Pride said in a statement. “I am so proud of the work we’re doing to reimagine A Different World for beloved fans and new generations alike.”

A Different World was a spinoff of The Cosby Show that followed Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) to college. Bonet left the show after its first season, and the show retooled around a larger ensemble that featured Guy, Hardison, Dawnn Lewis, Darryl M. Bell, Cree Summer, Charnele Brown, Glynn Turman, Sinbad and Lou Myers. Bill Cosby is credited as the creator of the original series, but he is not involved in the sequel.

The logline for the sequel reads, “The series follows Deborah as she enters her freshman year at her parents’ HBCU alma mater and finds their shadow difficult to escape. She sets out to build her own legacy — while having the time of her life — alongside a whole new generation of Hillman’s best and brightest.

Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall and Kennedi Reece will star alongside Moon in the new series.

“A Different World changed everything for us,” said the Bythewoods in a statement. “It was where we got our start as writers and where we found each other. This show has always been a part of our love story. To return to Hillman now and help reimagine this world for a new generation feels like a continuation of that legacy — one rooted in love, purpose, and possibility.”

Moon is repped by Buchwald, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Strig Artist Management and Jill Fritzo PR. Kai is with IAG and Holland and Knight.

From the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul comes Pluribus — a bold, genre-bending new series on Apple TV+ that flips the conventional dystopian narrative on its head.

Starring Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka — described as “the most miserable person on Earth” — the story follows her unexpected journey when she becomes one of the few immune to an event that forces humanity into unrelenting happiness. With a nine-episode first season debuting November 7, 2025, and a two-season order already locked in, Pluribus promises to mix sci-fi, thriller, and social commentary in a world where joy might be the greatest threat of all.

Learn more below.

How to Watch Pluribus

Pluribus premieres on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025, when the first two episodes will drop. After that, new episodes will be released each Friday through December 26.

The series is available to stream via the Apple TV+ app (and via Apple TV+ through platforms like Amazon Prime’s add-on).

What Is Pluribus About?

Pluribus is a genre-bending sci-fi drama created by Vince Gilligan (best known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul).

The premise: one woman described as “the most miserable person on Earth” is thrown into a surreal world where nearly everyone else is part of a hive-mind of unwavering optimism — and she’s apparently immune. From that starting point, the show explores what happens when happiness itself becomes a threat.

Who Is in the Pluribus Cast?

The lead role of Carol Sturka is played by Rhea Seehorn, re-uniting with Gilligan after her role in Better Call Saul.

Will There Be a Pluribus Season 2?

Yes — prior to its debut, Apple TV+ ordered the series for two seasons. So a second season is already in the pipeline, though details about what that season will cover have not been released.

Bob Dylan: Through the Open Window: The Bootleg Series Vol. 18 Album Review

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

In one of the finest moments of sequencing on this set, the next song up is “Boots of Spanish Leather,” an outtake from the Freewheelin’ sessions with Tom Wilson (Dylan would eventually re-record it for The Times They Are A-Changin’ in 1964). The contrast between the rousing chorus of “Blowin’ in the Wind” and the stillness of “Boots” is jarring enough to bring out new aspects of each song, with “Boots” sounding even lonelier, even more despairing. Written during a trip to Italy as his relationship with Suze Rotolo appeared to be crumbling, it sounds intimate and unguarded, intensely private rather than public; he needs a quiet moment to himself in order to rouse an audience with his friends.

Though known in folk circles, Dylan was still struggling to find a larger audience and break through to the pop market. He signed with Columbia in late 1961, which is roughly where Act II begins. He recorded his self-titled debut with John Hammond producing, but it was not the breakout anyone expected. Here’s where you might want to place your bookmark and give that album another listen, just to get a feel for how this young man presented himself to the world; unexpectedly, Bob Dylan might work better as an addendum to this bulky novel than as a standalone release. Even Dylan considered it a failure, both commercially and creatively, and he was moving so fast that these traditional tunes and talking blues were old news by the time it was released.

His follow-up, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, did not come easy. He worked through a series of aimless sessions over several months, finally piecemealing an album that wasn’t too dissimilar from his debut. At the last minute Columbia decided that “Talkin’ John Birch Society Paranoid Blues” was potentially libelous and removed it from the album. Dylan was irate, but it worked out in his favor, as it gave him a chance to quickly record several new songs and redo about half the album, including “Girl from the North Country” and “Masters of War”—two of his best compositions from the era. The new tracklist sharpened his Cold War fears while also introducing more intimate struggles, in particular his insecurities about Rotolo. The album toggles gracefully between the public and the private, each lending weight to the other, which contributes to its status as Dylan’s breakthrough as well as just one of the best folk albums ever made.

Official Trailer for French Thriller Series ‘The Hunt’ w/ Benoit Magimel

“We have to lure them out of the woods.” Apple TV has revealed their official trailer for a gripping French thriller series titled The Hunt, also known as Traqués in French, made by famous production company Gaumont in France. Not to be confused with either the Danish film called The Hunt with Mads Mikkelsen or the controversial American film The Hunt from a few years ago. But just as unsettling as those films. Franck and his buddies enjoy going on hunting trips. One day, they encounter another hunting group who strangely targets them. In self-defense, Franck’s group injures one of the attackers. But paranoia sets in as they return home and try to forget the incident – but the start to feel hunted by now vengeful enemies after them. “The most dangerous enemy is the one you can’t see.” Starring Benoît Magimel and Mélanie Laurent, pluds Damien Bonnard, Manuel Guillot, Cédric Appietto, Angelyna Danabe-Mignot, Sarah Pachoud, Yann Goven, Paul Beaurepaire, and Patrick De Vallette. This reminds me of that Netflix series “Beef” where a random occurrence turns into something bigger that destroys everyone’s lives. Looks just as crazy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Cédric Anger’s thriller series The Hunt, direct from YouTube:

The Hunt Series

The Hunt Poster

Franck (Benoît Magimel) and his longtime friends enjoy spending their weekends hunting together, but one Sunday, they come across another group of hunters who start targeting them without explanation. When one of their party is shot, Franck’s friends strike back, sending an attacker to the ground. Barely managing to escape, they keep the event a secret. Franck tries to go back to his life as usual alongside his wife Krystel (Mélanie Laurent), but in the next few days, he starts to feel like he and his friends are being watched, or worse, tracked by hunters who are now hell-bent on revenge. The Hunt, also titled Traqués (meaning Hunted) in French, is a series created & written & directed entirely by French writer / filmmaker Cédric Anger, director of the films The Killer, The Counsel, Next Time I’ll Aim for the Heart, and Paris Pigalle previously. Produced by Isabelle Degeorges; made by the studio Gaumont. Executive produced by Sidonie Dumas, Isabelle Degeorges, Clémentine Vaudaux, and Alexis Barqueiro at Gaumont. Apple releases Anger’s The Hunt series streaming on Apple TV+ starting December 3rd, 2025 coming soon. Interested?

Pluribus Review: Vince Gilligan Remixes The Twilight Zone For One of the Year’s Best New Shows
Music

Vince Gilligan’s Brilliant New Sci-Fi Series

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

When Apple TV’s Pluribus was first announced, all we knew was that it was a science fiction series from Vince Gilligan, and that it would star Rhea Seehorn, who had just finished giving one of TV’s most captivating performances on Better Call Saul. Everything about that equation was exciting, especially because before changing television on a fundamental level with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Gilligan was a key writer on The X-Files during some of its best years. The potential for what he might bring back to the genre, after spending so long in the world of Albuquerque drug dealers and crooked lawyers, was reason enough to tune in.

It turns out, though, Pluribus has far less connection with The X-Files than it does with The Twilight Zone’s particular brand of storytelling — ordinary people caught up in an extraordinary situation. There is an investigatory element, especially early on, when the questions feel overwhelming. Yet that’s really not the thrust of the series, at least based on the first seven episodes provided to critics. Instead, it’s a show about the individual, as well as society, and how those concepts might exist in direct opposition to each other.

When Pluribus begins, the scientific world is on the verge of a major discovery — but most people have no idea, just living their lives as if there’s not a giant countdown clock looming above them. This includes Carol (Rhea Seehorn), a frustrated writer whose speculative historical romances are best-sellers, but not exactly creatively fulfilling. (“Mindless crap,” she calls it.) Still, as her partner Helen (Miriam Shor) reminds her, it pays the bills for their otherwise content existence.

Related Video

When everything changes, though, it changes fast. Soon, Carol finds herself alone and scared — unsure what’s happened to the world, and if it can even be fixed. Especially since there are some people who might argue that the world doesn’t need fixing.

The list of things that can be said about Pluribus in this review is much shorter than the list of things that cannot be said, due to Apple TV’s desire to keep much of the plot under wraps. While these sorts of embargo restrictions are never fun for a critic, it does speak to how much of the show’s power comes not from its twists, but the way the writers approach those twists. There are no shortage of elements here that might feel familiar on the surface, but the creative team here is just as familiar with the tropes as we are. The glee they take in subverting them is just one element of what’s so fascinating here.

It’s very close to the storytelling style we saw evolve during the Breaking Bad-verse, executed on a global scale. No easy answers are provided, making the pleasure of each revelation all the more satisfying, all executed with top-tier unconventional cinematography and editing that speaks to a fresh narrative voice. Such care has gone into this show’s making that every detail on screen is worth savoring.

It’s also worth noting that for as much time as characters might spend on their own, the writing never lapses into lazy quirks like having the person talk to themselves, narrating their actions. Instead, the show puts its faith in the audience to watch carefully. Breaking Bad composer Dave Porter handles the score here, creating a totally different sound for the show’s music that’s largely choral-based — a choice, considering the premise, that’s more than apt. Yet it’s also conscious of how powerful silence can be.

Gilligan, Seehorn told Consequence back in 2022, wrote the role of Carol specifically for her, and it truly is an incredible showcase for her talents. She’s not in every scene, but the weight of the show largely rests on Seehorn’s shoulders. Fortunately, Carol is so well-drawn as a character, both in the writing and the performance, that she offers steady support for the action. She’s far from perfect, with flaws that perhaps make the situation worse as opposed to better, yet that draws out her humanity all the more. Not the hero we need, but the only one we’ve got.

While the stakes are quite high, there’s still a sense of real fun to be had, whether it be in Carol’s reactions or some of the wilder cameos that occur. However, speaking of flaws, Pluribus’s biggest one might be found in how close it holds its cards to its chest: Key information gets doled out at a pace that could frustrate viewers more eager for answers than understanding. There are no shortage of clues, of course, though how many of them are actually relevant isn’t explicitly clear. As one example, some of the numbers being thrown around do have Biblical overtones, though the degree to which that’s an actual hint as to what’s going on is more than murky at this time.

When you dig a little deeper into Pluribus, though, it does reveal that it may have a little something to do with that recent period of time we all spent sheltering in place, every cough heard in public a potential harbinger of doom. There’s a lot being explored here about community, and the kind of value we put on acceptance as opposed to independence. Not just because of the isolation some characters experience, but because of what that isolation draws out of them.

This might be the best pandemic-related art we’ve gotten yet, because it comes at those themes from the most unexpected of angles, prying open the lingering trauma from those years to explore the deeper ways that time hurt us all. The title of the show, a Latin word drawn from the American motto E pluribus unum, emphasizes the “many” out of the translation “Out of many, one.” Seehorn might be the star of the show, but it really is a series about all of us.

The first two episodes of Pluribus are streaming now on Apple TV. New episodes premiere on Fridays.

Briskly covering James Garfield’s unexpected nomination for the presidency through his assassination just four months after taking office, Mike Makowsky’s four-episode Netflix series is a savvy deconstruction of American myths invigorated by rip-roaring performances and a wily sense of humor.
