“When filming, we had to use our imagination, which our actors embraced perfectly.” Whoa – meet the big guys! Netflix has unveiled a 5 minute promo featurette for the Norway monster movie sequel Troll 2, which is now playing on Netflix right now. We posted the full official trailer a few months ago – this video focuses on the VFX work and the design & creation of the main trolls that will rumble in this sequel. Netflix got the original Norwegian action director, Roar Uthaug, back for this one. Nora, Andreas and Captain Kris leap back into action when a dangerous new troll awakes – and this time they’ll need more help to take it down. With the clock ticking and chaos spreading, they’ll need new allies and ancient secrets to stop the rampage. Starring Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, and Sara Khorami. Producers also state: “It’s always daunting to do a sequel but we truly feel that this time, we’ve created an even better, bigger, funnier, and more adventurous film – if that’s even possible!” This is a very fun video that lets Roar himself speak and explain their decisions and how they made these new Troll characters. Check it out below.

Here’s the VFX breakdown featurette for Roar Uthaug’s epic sequel Troll 2, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:

Avatar: Fire and Ash first reactions are in as critics single out “unimaginable” and “bold” sequel filmmaking

by jummy84 December 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The first wave of reactions have arrived for Avatar: Fire and Ash ahead of the release of the third entry in James Cameron’s epic sci-fi franchise later this month – and early signs suggest the new film could be another winner.

Although full reviews for the film are still under embargo for the time being, critics have begun posting their takes on social media, and the vast majority have been very positive so far.

“Three films in and I still can’t get over how magical the [Avatar] movies are,” wrote Perri Nemiroff of Collider, adding that Fire and Ash “truly feels like a ride.”

She continued: “I couldn’t believe how quickly I was pulled back into the world of Pandora and swept up in the situation. And once that happens, there’s a noticeable increase in complexity in quite a few aspects of the production.”

Critic Courtney Howard called the film “a glorious saga” and added: “Bold, brilliant & awesome in every way, this is what movie theatres were built for,” while writer Michael Lee claimed that it “pushes technical boundaries in unimaginable ways”.

Avatar: Fire and Ash 20th Century Studios

Chris Killian of ComicBook.com wrote that the film was a “damn good James Cameron movie!” and continued: “What else do you need to know? Go see it in 3-D in the best theatre you can find because it’ll blow your mind. That’s what JC does. Every bit as gorgeous as you’d expect, Fire and Ash is also easily the most INTENSE Avatar movie yet.”

Some viewers noted that the film would work best as a double bill with previous entry The Way of the Water, suggesting that it might be best to rewatch that one before going to see the new film.

“It feels like a Part 2 of that story,” wrote YouTuber Adam Hlaváč. “I was blown away by the visuals, the score, and many performances. But goddammit, you gotta see this thing in Dolby 3D! It’s unreal how immersive it is.”

Jesse Hassenger added that it was: “The first James Cameron sequel that feels kinda like a regular follow-up rather than an innovative re-envisioning of its predecessor’s world,” but added that “it also just casually drops ~3-4 of the best/coolest action sequences of the year and I was rapt the whole time.”

Read more:

While most of the reactions skewed very positive, a couple of them did also come with one or two reservations. For example, Eric Goldman wrote that while it was “another visually fantastic epic” and that “Cameron delivers spectacle like no one else”, he had “some issues with the third act and Way of Water remains the peak”.

Meanwhile, Matt Neglia of Next Best Picture wrote that while it “delivers the most emotional moments of the franchise” and is “the most epic in both scope and runtime”, the film contained “a few questionable choices” and was at times “frustrating”.

The reactions were pretty much unanimous in their praise for the visuals, but there were some critics who seemed otherwise unimpressed, with Variety’s Clayton Davis calling it the “most bloated entry yet”.

He added: “The dialogue often makes you cringe, and the story essentially devolves into an episode of My Two Dads meets James Cameron’s take on A Pyromaniac’s Love Story.”

Kaitlyn Booth also wrote that “story-wise, it’s the same ‘capture/rescue’ plot over and over again with some laughable dialogue thrown in the middle” adding that “the runtime is criminal, and if you have eye issues, avoid the 3D”.

The film arrives in UK cinemas on Friday 19th December, with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver and Kate Winslet among the stars to reprise their roles from previous instalments and, Oona Chaplin, Edie Falco, and David Thewlis joining the cast.

The official synopsis teased: “A year after settling in with the Metkayina clan, Jake and Neytiri’s family grapples with grief after Neteyam’s death.

“They encounter a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe, the Mangkwan clan, also called the Ash People, led by the fiery tribe leader, Varang, who has allied with Jake’s enemy, Quaritch, as the conflict on Pandora escalates to devastating consequences.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash will debut in cinemas on Friday 19th December 2025 in the UK.

‘Wicked: For Good’: How to Watch Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Musical Sequel at Home

by jummy84 November 24, 2025
written by jummy84

I’ve heard it said that Wicked: For Good has finally come into our lives a year after the release of part one. But you probably already know that, given the highly anticipated musical sequel has already surpassed the first Wicked movie with the biggest box office debut for a Broadway adaptation. It’s fair to say Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are pretty popular with the masses…Okay, I’ll stop with the Wicked pun in just a clock tick.

But what if you’ve already paid $20 (plus the cost of popcorn and a soda) during opening weekend or just don’t want to drive to the theater? Thank goodness there are plenty of ways to enjoy the Wizard of Oz origin story based on the 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire.

Here’s how to watch Wicked: For Good—and everything you can actually stream at home—right now.

How to watch Wicked: For Good right now:

Wicked: For Good is now in movie theaters. You can check your local listings and buy tickets in advance on sites like Fandango, or directly through AMC and Regal.

When will Wicked: For Good be available to stream at home?

There has been no official announcement, though it will likely follow a similar timeline as the first film, which hit theaters on November 22, 2024, was available to purchase and rent on Amazon Prime on December 31 of that year, alongside a sing-along version, movie commentary, and plenty of bonus footage in the form of deleted scenes and a 40-minute documentary.

As for streaming, Wicked stans were able to watch the movie on Peacock as early as March 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, Wicked is easier to watch than ever right now.

Amazon Prime subscribers are now able to stream Wicked for free, along with all the aforementioned bonus footage. For those without a subscription, you can rent Wicked for $3.99 or purchase the film for $9.99 on Amazon Prime or Apple TV.

“Let the 50th Hunger Games begin!” Lionsgate has revealed the first look teaser trailer for their next new epic The Hunger Games sequel – this one is titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. It’s a prequel to the original The Hunger Games stories, but also a sequel to the other recent The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes movie that opened in 2023. Sunrise on the Reaping revisits the world of Panem and follows young Haymitch Abernathy 24 years before the events of THG, starting on the morning of the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Something big will happen here? This one has an exceptional cast: Joseph Zada as Haymitch, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow, Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Elle Fanning as young Effie Trinket, Mckenna Grace as tribute Maysilee Donner, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Whitney Peak, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. This also features a different Hunger Games setup up in the mountains which reminds of Midsommar in many ways. Take a look below.

Ice Spice Drops New Single ‘Big Guy’ for ‘The SpongeBob Movie’ Sequel

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

The rapper will also voice a character in the animated film, set for release on Dec. 17

Ice Spice shared a new single, “Big Guy,” written and recorded for upcoming animated sequel The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants. A video for the spit-fire track will follow later today.

“Off the wake up, I’m feeling my best/ Big things ’bout to happen today,” the rapper intones on the upbeat single. “I bend over, I do my lil’ stretch/ I woke up feeling a brand new way/ Ain’t a jellyfish, but I’m the catch.”

“Being part of the SpongeBob soundtrack is such a full circle moment for me,” Ice Spice said in a statement. “It’s crazy to see my music in a movie that’s been part of so many people’s childhoods, including mine.”

Along with creating an original track for the film, Ice Spice voices to one of the characters in the movie, marking her first-ever voice cameo.

“Big Guy” follows on the heels of Ice Spice’s recent singles, “Pretty Privilege” and “Baddie Baddie.” The latter song marked Ice Spice’s first solo release since she dropped Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) last December. It was produced by the rapper’s longtime collaborator RiotUSA and samples M.I.A.’s 2012 hit “Bad Girls.” She later dropped an Evil Twins-directed music video for the track.

Trending Stories

Since releasing Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe), Ice Spice collaborated with several artists. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Latto on “Gyatt,” which marked the first collaboration between the two rappers and effectively squashed rumors of the pair’s feud. She also made her film debut in Spike Lee’s most recent film, Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants hits theaters on Dec. 17. The film’s official synopsis notes, “Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.”

“Hi there, I’m Lilypad! Let’s play!” Disney & Pixar have unveiled the first look teaser for the Pixar sequel titled Toy Story 5, arriving in theaters for Summer 2026 – a full 31 years after the original Toy Story in 1995. After three other sequels to the original over many years, this time the toys are finally going to deal with the elephant in the room – technology. 😱 Buzz, Woody, Jessie are challenged after being introduced to what kids are obsessed with today: electronics. Essentially in the form of a gaming tablet. The big bid villain is a high-tech frog-shaped smart tablet named Lilypad voiced by Greta Lee. For those of you that don’t have kids, yep these things are real. Conan O’Brien will also be a part of the voice cast as toilet training tech toy, Smarty Pants. All the regulars are back: Tom Hanks returns as ever loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen is back as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack saddles up again as Jessie. And interestingly, Andrew Stanton is directing – he has made plenty of Pixar movies before, but this is his first Toy Story movie for the animation studio. From Toy Story 4 (in 2019), Tony Hale is also back as Forky, and it looks like Bonnie is still taking care of all the toys. An amusing first look intro while we wait for this next year. Say hi to Lilypad.

Here’s the teaser trailer for Andrew Stanton & Kenna Harris’ sequel Toy Story 5, direct from YouTube:

“It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favorite team of legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology, and we’re thrilled to share this first glimpse with audiences. Having the remarkably talented Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humor and heart — has been incredible.” –Co-directors Andrew Stanton & Kenna Harris

Toy Story 5 Teaser

Toy Story 5 Poster

In Toy Story 5, we’re introduced to a new character Lilypad, a high-tech frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee that makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime. Tom Hanks returns as ever loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen reports for duty as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack saddles up again as the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl Jessie. It was recently announced that Conan O’Brien will also be a part of the voice cast as toilet training tech toy, Smarty Pants. Pixar’s Toy Story 5 is directed by American filmmaker Andrew Stanton, director of the movies A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, John Carter, Finding Dory, and eps of “Stranger Things”, “Tales from the Loop”, “For All Mankind”, and “3 Body Problem” recently. Co-directed by Kenna Harris (of Ciao Alberto). The screenplay is also written by Andrew Stanton. Produced by Lindsey Collins (Turning Red, Wall-E, Finding Dory). Made by Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA. Disney debuts Pixar’s Toy Story 5 movie in theaters worldwide starting June 19th, 2026 next summer. First impression?

‘A Different World’ Sequel Snags Netflix Series Order

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Hillman College will enroll a new class of students with Netflix’s pickup of a sequel series to A Different World.

The streamer has given a series order to the comedy, which has been in the works for more than a year (and included a very rare pilot order from Netflix). The show will star Tony Award winner Maleah Joi Moon (Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway) as Deborah, the youngest daughter of original series leads Whitley (Jasmine Guy) and Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison), who enrolls at the HBCU her parents attended.

Felicia Pride (Bel-Air, Grey’s Anatomy) is the showrunner on A Different World. Several alumni of the 1987-93 NBC series join Pride as executive producers, including Debbie Allen, Reggie Rock Bythewood, Gina Prince-Bythewood and Tom Werner; Mandy Summers also exec produces. Allen, who directed the majority of the original show’s episodes, will helm the series premiere and two more episodes in the sequel’s first season.

“It is such an honor to be a part of bringing back this iconic show, one that I grew up on and which had a profound impact on my life,” Pride said in a statement. “I am so proud of the work we’re doing to reimagine A Different World for beloved fans and new generations alike.”

A Different World was a spinoff of The Cosby Show that followed Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) to college. Bonet left the show after its first season, and the show retooled around a larger ensemble that featured Guy, Hardison, Dawnn Lewis, Darryl M. Bell, Cree Summer, Charnele Brown, Glynn Turman, Sinbad and Lou Myers. Bill Cosby is credited as the creator of the original series, but he is not involved in the sequel.

The logline for the sequel reads, “The series follows Deborah as she enters her freshman year at her parents’ HBCU alma mater and finds their shadow difficult to escape. She sets out to build her own legacy — while having the time of her life — alongside a whole new generation of Hillman’s best and brightest.

Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall and Kennedi Reece will star alongside Moon in the new series.

“A Different World changed everything for us,” said the Bythewoods in a statement. “It was where we got our start as writers and where we found each other. This show has always been a part of our love story. To return to Hillman now and help reimagine this world for a new generation feels like a continuation of that legacy — one rooted in love, purpose, and possibility.”

Moon is repped by Buchwald, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Strig Artist Management and Jill Fritzo PR. Kai is with IAG and Holland and Knight.

Michael Jackson Biopic Trailer Draws 30 Million Views in 6 Hours, A Sequel Reportedly in the Works

The first teaser for Michael, Lionsgate’s upcoming biopic about music legend Michael Jackson, generated more than 30 million views within its first six hours of release — a figure that marks a 50% increase over the debut numbers for John Wick: Chapter 4, according to Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Adam Fogelson.

The update was shared during the studio’s earnings call on Thursday, where Fogelson also confirmed the film remains one of Lionsgate’s most anticipated releases. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, who also produced Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael is set to open in theaters on April 24, 2026. During the call, Lionsgate executives were asked whether plans remain in place for a second installment of Michael. The film was initially divided into two parts, as the original cut ran three and a half hours long. Additionally, a portion of the footage reportedly centered on one of Jackson’s accusers, who reached a settlement with the singer’s estate stipulating that their story could not be dramatized — an oversight the estate made when approving the film’s early development.

Responding to questions about a possible sequel, Fogelson said, “Since the last time we worked together on an earnings call, we’ve had the great pleasure of seeing the director’s cut of the first film, and it is exceptional.” He added, “While we’re not yet ready to confirm plans for a second film, I can tell you that the creative team is hard at work making sure that we’re in a position to deliver more Michael soon after we release the first film.” Fogelson concluded by praising the film’s lead, Jaafar Jackson, the late singer’s nephew, saying, “People have been waiting a long time for this. I think people are stunned with Jaafar’s performance.”

Mom 2: Khushi Kapoor, Karishma Tanna To Lead Late Sridevi’s Sequel?

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Khushi Kapoor and Karishma Tanna are reportedly set to headline Mom 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the National Award-winning 2017 film Mom, which marked the late Sridevi’s final on-screen performance. While Mom 2 draws inspiration from the emotional and powerful essence of the original, the sequel will present a fresh and contemporary story centered around justice, resilience, and strong female characters.

Khushi Kapoor, Karishma Tanna To Lead Mom 2?

The film aims to carry forward the legacy of Mom while introducing new dimensions and a modern narrative style. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Mom 2 will not be a direct continuation of the first film’s storyline. Instead, it will weave a brand-new tale, blending suspense, high-stakes drama, and emotional depth. The focus will remain on portraying complex women navigating moral dilemmas and seeking justice in challenging circumstances.

A source close to the production shared, “Mom 2 is an emotionally layered, modern, and dynamic film. Karishma Tanna brings the right intensity and emotional depth to the story, while Khushi Kapoor adds a refreshing energy. Their on-screen chemistry is what makes them the perfect pair for this project.”

The film will be produced by Boney Kapoor, who also backed the original Mom. Direction will be helmed by Girish Kohli, known for his writing contributions to Mom, Kesari, and HIT: The First Case. Boney Kapoor had earlier dropped hints about Khushi’s involvement during the 2025 IIFA Awards in Jaipur. Speaking about his children’s work, he said, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films — The Archies, Loveyappa, and Naadaniyan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry Mein Entry. It could be Mom 2.”

Khushi Kapoor, who made her debut with The Archies, was later seen in Loveyappa and Naadaniyan, though both films underperformed at the box office. Karishma Tanna was last seen in the 2021 spy drama Lahore Confidential and has previously appeared in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari and Sanju.

With Boney Kapoor at the helm and a promising new pairing in Khushi and Karishma, Mom 2 is shaping up to be an emotionally charged cinematic experience blending legacy, modernity, and female strength.
