Three minutes and 30 seconds trailer

According to sources, The Raja Saab trailer duration is around 3 minutes and 30 seconds. The trailer was recently censored and is presently in the final cut to send it to the screens. Hombale Films, the production house of Kantara, has earlier bankrolled Prabhas-starrer Salaar. It also collaborated with the superstar for three more films. They share great bonding and that’s now benefiting both the parties. Pencilled to be a horror comedy, The Raja Saab is directed by Maruthi. The film is said to be a blend of romance and action, marking a fresh genre experiment for Prabhas. The teaser that was released in June generated good buzz, and fans are hoping for more excitement with the trailer. The Raja Saab is slated for release on January 9, 2026 for Sankranti festival.

Hollywood Stars and Their Bold Ventures Beyond the Screen – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

The glamour of Hollywood has a tendency to cloud another facet of its biggest stars: their business ambitions. While acting is their main source of stardom, many actors and celebrities have dabbled in as varied ventures as casinos, restaurants, fitness, technology, and health. For some, they have turned into global empires, but for others, they have faced setbacks that suggest that stardom does not equate to business success.

Jay-Z and the Casino Bid That Was Rejected

In September 2025, Jay-Z’s high-profile bid to construct a New York Times Square casino was rejected by a state advisory committee. Jay-Z, with Caesars Entertainment and SL Green Realty, had envisioned a massive entertainment complex with a casino, hotel, and nightlife spots under his Roc Nation brand. While Jay-Z might have 99 problems, running a large casino is no longer one.

The bid was turned down amidst protests by Broadway theaters’ owners and local leaders over the potential impact of the bid on the neighborhood’s culture, traffic, and community balance. Despite the turn-down, the bid highlighted how celebrities are being drawn more and more to entertainment and amusement-based businesses. Modern casino culture is also found online, where online platforms like Coin Poker AU are pioneering new ground in online gaming by merging poker with blockchain. With Jay-Z’s bid being rejected, more New York residents might have to stick to playing online for now.

Francis Ford Coppola and the World of Wine

Francis Ford Coppola, the legendary film director, is a case in point of a Hollywood star who pursued a personal interest and made it a money-spinner. His Sonoma County winery is now a major tourist attraction, offering both fine wine and tourist destination status. Coppola’s love of wine is part of his desire to create art beyond the screen, combining storytelling and the culture of the host.

Robert De Niro and Nobu Restaurants

Robert De Niro is always renowned for his intensity on screen, but his business tactics are no less calculated. He joined forces with Nobu, now the iconic restaurant chain that prepares Japanese cuisine. From its New York roots, Nobu has spread across the globe with dozens of restaurants and upscale hotels. De Niro’s good taste in talent and his support of chef Nobu Matsuhisa transformed one dining area into an international giant.

Mark Wahlberg: From Burgers to Getting in Shape

Mark Wahlberg is the most visible example of an actor who has diversified into numerous fields. With his brothers Donnie and Paul, he established Wahlburgers, a casual restaurant chain that has grown to have locations in the United States, Canada, and abroad. The chain even spawned a reality television show, adding to its exposure.

In addition to burgers, Wahlberg has made a mark in the global fitness industry. His F45 Training investment, which is an international chain of high-intensity exercise fitness gyms, is an indication of his celebrity persona as a self-disciplined and physically dedicated human being. Through Wahlburgers and F45, Wahlberg demonstrates how celebrities can leverage their own brand and use it to build successful businesses that resonate with mass consumers.

While these might be the most noteworthy businesses Wahlberg owns, he does, in fact, own several other businesses too, from his own clothing line to bottled water; his reach extends far beyond Hollywood these days.

Jessica Alba and The Honest Company

Jessica Alba co-founded The Honest Company with the vision of providing non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products for the household. It began as a niche company that catered to baby and wellness products and then branched out into a popular brand. The Honest Company went public in 2021, validating Alba as not just a good actress but also a serious entrepreneur who rode on growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly, toxin-free products.

Ashton Kutcher and Venture Investments

Ashton Kutcher may have started in sitcoms, but his career as an investor after acting has made him a contender as one of Hollywood’s most successful investors. Through A-Grade Investments and recently Sound Ventures, he has invested in early-stage businesses like Airbnb, Uber, and Spotify. The bets were enormous payoffs, making Kutcher one of the prominent figures in Silicon Valley. His story proves that celebrities can be successful in ventures away from the entertainment field if they are open to experimenting and discovering.

Ryan Reynolds and Aviation Gin

Ryan Reynolds, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, turned a then-niche gin brand into a global brand through smart marketing and his signature humor. His collaboration with Aviation Gin was remarkable, more than a typical celebrity endorsement, given that he engaged in the brand’s strategy and campaigns proactively. The business was sold to Diageo in 2020 in a deal worth up to $610 million. Reynolds’ story reveals how charm and storytelling, cultivated in Hollywood, are weapons strong enough to yield great outcomes in business.

Hollywood Entrepreneurs: Life Lessons

The ventures of Jay-Z, Robert De Niro, Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, and Ryan Reynolds demonstrate the opportunity and danger of celebrity entrepreneurship. Celebrity will open doors and attract investors, but longevity requires commitment, vision, and an unmistakable understanding of the industry selected.

Not every business works, as Jay-Z’s failed casino attempt clearly shows, but failing is part of the entrepreneur’s journey. What binds these stars is the desire to bet and take a chance beyond the film set. Their diversions prove Hollywood’s influence pervades boardrooms, dinner parties, vineyards, and even fitness studios globally.

Hollywood actors and entertainers are no longer content to rely solely on the unpredictable nature of film careers. By branching into industries as diverse as casinos, restaurants, fitness, wellness, and technology, they show that creativity and ambition can transcend the screen. While not all ventures succeed, the stories of these stars inspire audiences to see them as more than entertainers. They are entrepreneurs, innovators, and risk-takers, proving that reinvention is as much a part of Hollywood as acting itself.

Robert Redford, A House of Dynamite, Foreign Oscar Race — Screen Talk

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Much like “Screen Talk” podcast co-host Ryan Lattanzio felt after leaving Kathryn Bigelow’s nuclear missile thriller “A House of Dynamite” at Venice — which he rave-reviewed — Anne Thompson left a recent L.A. screening of the movie with her heart pounding in her chest.

Written by Noah Oppenheim, Bigelow’s real-time thriller about the banalities and actualities of a fictional-in-premise-only nuclear attack on the United States is Netflix’s best horse in the race at the Oscars this year. The film stars Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, Idris Elba, Jonah Hauer-King, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Tracy Letts, and more — and while its ensemble will likely be left out of acting categories, the movie will play well to Oscar voters and audiences when it drops on Netflix in October. The streamer will give this gripping and intense film — which is a cautionary letter about the nuclear stockpile across the world — a theatrical, qualifying play in theaters starting October 10.

On this week’s “Screen Talk” episode, we also remember the great Robert Redford, the filmmaker and actor and Sundance founder who died at home in Utah at the age of 89 on Tuesday. We each pick our favorite Redford movies: While Anne argues that “Out of Africa,” the 1985 Best Picture-winning romance he directed and starred in with Meryl Streep, has aged better than Alan J. Pakula’s timely (!) journalism thriller “All the President’s Men” from 1976, Ryan advocates for “The Way We Were” as a career-best Redford performance. He starred in that Sydney Pollack-directed film as a WASP opposite Barbra Streisand as a Marxist Jewish woman. From college on, they never could make their relationship work. But Pollack knew how to make commercial appeal and filmmaking artistry work at the same time.

We also discuss the latest, headline-dominating news that Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled from late-night airing by ABC after he made allegedly erroneous comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk. What does it mean for free speech on television? It’s not looking good. Much like the situation with Stephen Colbert getting axed from airwaves amid the Paramount-Skydance merger, there’s another combination of mega broadcasting forces at play here: Nexstar, America’s largest local TV broadcasting group, is amid a merger with similarly local-TV-operating Tegna. Both are in the FCC’s pocket, which is in turn in President Trump’s pocket.

This week’s “Screen Talk” also breaks down the major players in the Best International Feature Oscar race. France, due to its production stake in the film, has officially submitted Iranian director Jafar Panahi’s Palme d’Or-winner “It Was Just an Accident” for the Academy Award. The country stands a good chance at a nomination, and possibly a win, after years of being snubbed. France could have won this year for “Emilia Pérez” until, well, we know what happened there. Other strong contenders include “The President’s Cake” from Iraq (a Sony Pictures Classics release), Norway’s “Sentimental Value” (Neon), and Brazil’s “The Secret Agent” (also Neon), though this is a category that is ever hard to predict. The deadline for submissions is October 1.

Hawaii Film Fest To Open With ‘Rental Family’; Screen ‘No Other Choice’

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: This year’s Hawai’i International Film Festival (HIFF) will open with Rental Family, starring Brendan Fraser, and has set Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice as its Centrepiece Film.

Fraser stars as a down-and-out American actor adrift in Tokyo in Rental Family, which was filmed in Japan. The film is directed by Japan-born, US-based filmmaker and former actress Hikari, who has also directed episodes of Tokyo Vice and Netflix series Beef. No Other Choice, fresh from critical acclaim at the Venice and Toronto film festivals, has also just screened as the opening film of Busan International Film Festival.

Park is also being honoured with the Vision In Film Award at HIFF, which will also present a Career Achievement Award to New Zealand actress Melanie Lynksey (Pike River) and Maverick Award to Japanese director and action choreographer Kenji Tanigaki (The Furious). Japanese comedian Yuriyan Retriever will receive the festival’s New Vanguard Award.

In addition, the creative team behind Apple TV+ series Chief Of War – inspired by Native Hawaiian history and co-created by Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa‘a Sibbett – will be presented with a Trailblazer Award. The team also includes producer Brian Keaulana and many members of the Kānaka Maoli and Pacific Islander community.

HIFF is also launching its first ever industry conference in Honolulu, which will bring together Hawai’i’s creative community with visiting filmmakers and film agencies from across the Asia Pacific Rim.

Keynote speakers set to attend HIFILM Industry Conference (October 24–26) include former Amazon Original Movies head of physical production Glenn Gainor, who has launched new outfit Hollywood Ventures; and Oscar-winning documentary director Ben Proudfoot (The Queen Of Basketball), who recently directed The Eyes Of Ghana, produced by the Obamas. The conference will also present a deep dive into the writing and production of Chief Of War.

“This new platform brings together a cross-section of professionals from across the industry – Sundance alums, Academy Award winners, Hollywood execs, international co-production experts, and cultural workers to examine how production impacts real communities, both above and below the line,” said HIFF Artistic Director Anderson Le.

“At a time of massive paradigm shifts, especially in Hawai’i, it’s vital we explore these real-world effects and anticipate the trends shaping the future of storytelling as it pertains to authenticity and the global marketplace.”

In total, HIFF will screen 72 features and 143 short films from 44 countries. The festival has expanded its shorts programming as it’s the only festival in the State of Hawaii to be an Academy Award qualifier for short films. Two awards will be handed out in the shorts categories – Best Short Film and the Best Made in Hawaii Award, dedicated to short films from Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

HIFF will also present the HIFF Kau Ka Hōkū (Shooting Star) Award to the best emerging filmmaker at the festival and the Pasifika Award for Best Feature Film, which focuses on films with a Pacific Islander perspective. The nominees for both awards are listed below.

Other highlights include titles from Sundance, Cannes, Toronto and Busan film festivals along with major films from the Asia Pacific Rim that will screen at HIFF before their domestic releases. Best of fest titles include Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just An Accident, Lav Diaz’ Magellan, Oliver Laxe’s Sirat, Mascha Schlininski’s The Sound Of Falling and Kleber Mendonca’s The Secret Agent.

“HIFF45 continues our legacy of showcasing the most exciting and groundbreaking voices in global cinema, while also creating a vital hub for industry exchange through our inaugural HIFILM Industry Conference,” said HIFF Executive Director Beckie Stocchetti.

The fest is scheduled to run October 15-26 in Honolulu and October 28-30 in West O`ahu, followed by screenings on Maui (Oct 19-20), Lana`I (Oct 21-23),  Kaua`I (Nov 1-3), Big Island (Waimea, Nov 7-9), Maui (Nov 8-9) Big Island (Hilo, Nov 13-16) and Moloka`I (Nov 14-16).

“Everyone’s after my chainsaw heart!” Wowza! Sony Pictures has launched a second official trailer for the crazy new big screen anime movie called Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, a spin-off from the hit anime series “Chainsaw Man” (watch it on Crunchyroll). This action-packed creation is ready for release in theaters around the world (dubbed + subtitled versions) at the end of October – a treat for all the “Chainsaw Man” fans out there. Here’s the first trailer for more footage for anyone thirsty. Lock in. Denji encounters a new romantic interest, Reze, who works at a coffee café. For the first time, Chainsaw Man will slash his way onto the big screen in an epic, action-fueled adventure. Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a Devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s Devil Hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café… With the voices of Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, plus Fairouz Ai, Tomori Kusunoki, Shogo Sakata, & Reina Ueda as Reze. This looks wild! What a crazy fun trailer – literally an explosive new look at this anime movie. “Boom.”

Here’s the second trailer for Tatsuya Yoshihara’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, on YouTube:

You can rewatch the first trailer for Yoshihara’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc right here for more.

For the first time, Chainsaw Man slashes his way onto the big screen in an epic, action-fueled adventure that continues the hugely popular anime series. Denji worked as a Devil Hunter for the yakuza, trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, until the yakuza betrayed him and had him killed. As he was losing consciousness, Denji’s beloved chainsaw-powered devil-dog, Pochita, made a deal with Denji and saved his life. This fused the two together, creating the unstoppable Chainsaw Man. Now, in a brutal war between devils, hunters, and secret enemies, a mysterious girl named Reze has stepped into his world, and Denji faces his deadliest battle yet, fueled by love in a world where survival knows no rules. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, also known as チェンソーマン レゼ篇, is directed by the Japanese filmmaker / storyboard artist Tatsuya Yoshihara, also of the series “Yatterman Night”, “Long Riders!”, “Black Clover”, “Wistoria: Wand and Sword”, and eps of the original “Chainsaw Man” previously. The screenplay is written by Hiroshi Seko. Based on the original manga “Chainsaw Man” by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Produced by MAPPA; with Keisuke Seshita as animation producer. Sony Pictures opens Yoshihara’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc in US theaters nationwide starting on October 29th, 2025 this fall. So who wants to watch this?

Rajkummar Rao proved his acting prowess when he wonderfully portrayed the titular role in the 2024 film Srikanth. The actor did full justice to the character of Srikanth Bolla, a blind man who becomes a successful entrepreneur.

But before Rajkummar, quite a few Bollywood stars took on role of visually impaired characters and masterfully portrayed their challenges on screen. Here are 8 Bollywood actors who left an indelible mark on the audience’s hearts by playing visually challenged roles.

1. Rani Mukerji In Black

In 2005, Rani Mukerji was widely lauded for starring as a deaf-and-blind woman in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black. The actress represented the trials and tribulations faced by specially-abled people by playing Michelle, a girl who could neither see nor hear. But, with the guidance of her stubborn teacher, Debraj, played by Amitabh Bachchan, Michelle explores her full potential and dreams of getting a college degree. Rani’s act in Black is counted among her finest performances. The actress swept almost all the Best Actress Awards that year, winning big at Filmfare, IIFA, Screen, Stardust, and Zee Cine Awards.

2. Kajol In Fanaa

Kajol impressed the viewers and critics alike when she played Zooni Ali Beg, a visually-challenged woman from Kashmir, in the 2006 film Fanaa. The Kunal Kohli directorial follows Zooni, who falls in love with a tourist guide, Rehan (Aamir Khan), during a trip to Delhi. While Rehan eventually helps her in getting her eyesight back, Zooni remains unaware of his real identity. Kajol’s nuanced portrayal of a girl whose character graph goes through several ups and downs earned her the Best Actress trophy at the 52nd Filmfare Awards.

3. Ayushmann Khurrana In Andhadhun

Andhadhun was the film that boosted Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bollywood career and made him an A-list star. The 2018 film follows a visually impaired piano player, Akash (Ayushmann), who gets embroiled in a violent run and chase when he witnesses a former actor getting murdered. Whether Akash was blind or pretending to be one is still a mystery, and Ayushmann’s enchanting performance only made the story even more ambiguous. Andhadhun was directed by the maestro, Sriram Raghavan and starred powerhouses of talents like Tabu and Radhika Apte. Ayushmann bagged the National Film Award for Best Actor and a Filmfare Best Actor (Critics) Award for his portrayal.

4 & 5. Hrithik Roshan & Yami Gautam in Kaabil

Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil told the heart-wrenching story of a visually challenged couple, Rohan and Supriya, played by Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam, respectively. The two fall in love and live a happy married life until one day, when some local goons assault Supriya and she ends up committing suicide. Rohan then quests for justice and, despite being blind, uses his other senses and skills to get revenge. Hrithik’s performance in the film was hugely appreciated, as he portrayed both the shades of a vulnerable lover and a menacing killer. Yami was also praised for her role portraying a woman who succumbs to a heartbreaking tragedy.

5. Sanjay Dutt In Dushman

Sanjay Dutt has played various roles in his career, including that of a blind man in the 1998 hit Dushman. A remake of the Hollywood film Eye for an Eye, Dushman revolves around Naina, played by Kajol, who wants to avenge her twin sister’s assault and murder by the sadist killer and r*pist, Gokul (Ashutosh Rana). Sanjay Dutt appears as a visually impaired Army veteran, Major Suraj Singh Rathod, who trains Naina in her mission and ends up having feelings for her. Several stars rejected the challenging role before it landed in Dutt’s lap, and the actor played it to perfection, winning over the hearts of audiences and critics.

7. Naseeruddin Shah In Sparsh

Back in 1980, Naseeruddin Shah essayed the role of Anirudh, a blind principal at a school for visually impaired children, who falls in love with a sighted teacher, Kavita, played by Shabana Azmi. The film beautifully captures the essence of the relationship between the two, as Anirudh starts to feel unsure about their future owing to his condition. Still, the couple keeps helping children at the school. Naseeruddin mesmerized the viewers with his subtle acting and won the National Film Award for Best Actor. He went on to play a blind man again in the 2015 film Welcome Back, albeit in a comic role.

8. Deepika Padukone In Lafangey Parindey

Deepika Padukone was still in the initial phase of her career when she starred as a blind woman in the romantic drama Lafangey Parindey. She played Pinky Palkar, an aspiring skater who loses her eyesight in an accident. Nandu (Neil Nitin Mukesh), who was responsible for the accident, starts to train Pinky and helps her prepare for a skating competition, and the two get romantically involved. Though the film was a box-office dud, Deepika’s portrayal of a young girl who strives to achieve her dreams despite being blind enchanted the viewers.

What Happened To The Actress Who Shared The Screen With Deepika Padukone In Her Debut Film? | Glamsham.com

written by jummy84

Deepika Padukone’s success after making her debut in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om (2007) is a well-documented fact. However, few recall that another actress also made her Bollywood debut in the same film, sharing the screen with Deepika.

This talented individual had big dreams and a promising career ahead, but somehow, her stardom slipped away, and she’s not as prominent in the industry today. Despite her potential, she couldn’t sustain the momentum and is now a lesser-known figure compared to Deepika’s meteoric rise to fame. Even though she had worked alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, Yuvika’s career went in a completely different direction.

From Bollywood to Television
Since Om Shanti Om, Yuvika worked in a number of films like Summer 2007, Toh Baat Pakki!, Naughty @ 40, Khap, Enemmy, and The Shaukeens. Though she had worked with big names such as Akshay Kumar, none of them were very successful commercially or gave her a solid support base in Bollywood.

As the film opportunities diminished, Yuvika slowly turned her attention to television. She rose to fame with her role in reality shows like India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj, Bigg Boss 9, MTV Splitsvilla 10, and Nach Baliye 9 which she won with her husband, actor Prince Narula. Yuvika was recently seen in the 2022 TV series Cyber Vaar.

Standing by Deepika’s Concept of Work-Life Balance
Last month, Yuvika stepped forward in solidarity with Deepika Padukone’s proposal for an 8-hour working day in the film industry — particularly after being a mother. In an interview with Hindi Rush, Yuvika recognized the ordeal of women after being mothers, stating, “It’s not easy to become a mother, and then work after that is more difficult. She deserves that respect after working for so many years.”

Yuvika also came clean about rejecting many promising ventures to focus on her family. “People shouldn’t be so heartless. This is a tough journey, and they should stand by women,” she stated.

While Yuvika’s journey deviated from that of a Bollywood superstar, her decisions are proof of resilience and dedication to her profession and to her life.

What’s Next for Quentin Tarantino, and Film Critics — Screen Talk

by jummy84 August 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Quentin Tarantino‘s recent — and no doubt coveted — appearance on “The Church of Tarantino,” a long-running fan podcast run by Scott K., provided spicy details about the director’s next moves. He’s working on a play he hopes to take to the West End, and during the two-hour episode, he also explained why his purported 10th film “The Movie Critic” derailed. It turns out that Tarantino’s planned limited series, as announced in 2022 for an unspecified network or streamer, began as “The Movie Critic” before he whittled it down to a feature film version.

The Oscar-winning “Pulp Fiction” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” director first announced in 2024 that he would not move forward with “The Movie Critic,” about a film writer in 1970s Los Angeles circa the same time and place as “Once Upon a Time.” There wouldn’t have been, he insists, any overlaps in terms of characters, nor would there be an appearance from Cliff Booth (played by Oscar winner Brad Pitt). Of course, we now know that Booth and Pitt are returning for a new film, scripted by Tarantino and directed by David Fincher, for Netflix. Titled “The Adventures of Cliff Booth,” the period film went into on-location California production this past week.

On this week’s episode of IndieWire’s “Screen Talk,” co-hosts Anne Thompson and Ryan Lattanzio recapped Tarantino’s podcast appearance — and specifically about how Tarantino rejected the notion that he is paralyzed by fear or indecision about his 10th and expected-to-be-final movie. For now, the Netflix movie and the eventual stage play will have to sate his fans.

Elsewhere on the episode, we share our own favorite movies from the 1970s in the wake of IndieWire’s ’70s Week, which ranked the decade’s 100 best movies, topped by Bob Fosse’s “All That Jazz,” along with interviews and insights about the era. Our mutual favorites include “Klute” and “Chinatown,” and we gave a shout-out to films like “A Clockwork Orange” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” that didn’t make the cut.

Speaking of podcast appearances, Warner Bros. film chiefs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy gave a candid chat to The Black List founder Franklin Leonard about the studio’s recent successes. They talked about the bidding war for Zach Cregger’s sleeper horror “Weapons” — De Luca got the script at 8:30 a.m. on a Monday in January 2023 and by the next day the deal was closing at Warners’ production arm New Line. They also unpacked further the revolutionary deal for Ryan Coogler and “Sinners”; the filmmaker will get back the rights to the horror movie in 25 years, which is five years longer than Sony’s similar deal with Tarantino and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” a movie Warners chased. At this point, “Sinners” is a Best Picture Oscar frontrunner.
