Jordan Peele’s post-‘Nope’ horror film removed from Universal’s 2026 schedule

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Jordan Peele‘s highly anticipated next project has been removed from Universal Pictures’ 2026 release schedule.

  • READ MORE: ‘Nope’ review: say yes to Jordan Peele’s genre-hopping comedy-horror

The currently untitled horror film – which will serve as the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2022’s Nope, and will mark the filmmaker’s return to directing after four years – was most recently slated for a release sometime around Halloween next year.

Now, however, it has been reported via Variety that Universal Pictures has removed it from its 2026 release schedule, and has yet to set a new date for the film. The film was first meant to premiere around Christmas last year, but was put on pause in 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood.

The film was then pushed to October 23, 2026, but has been removed from Universal’s roster. According to Variety‘s sources, Peele is still working on the project, and has yet to begin the filming process.

Details surrounding the film, including its cast and premise, have yet to be made public, though Peele opened up about the project at the start of last year, calling it his “favourite” of all his works so far.

After a successful career in comedy, Peele made his directorial debut with 2017’s Get Out, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and numerous other nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Peel then produced  BlacKkKlansman in 2017, before returning to directing and writing for the acclaimed horror movies Us (2019) and Nope (2022), reuniting with Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya for the latter. He also co-wrote the 2021 sequel to 1992’s Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta.

He has since produced two films – Monkey Man and HIM – via his Monkeypaw production company, and is rumoured to have fired his management team after they were unable to secure producer rights for the acclaimed horror film Weapons.

Peele’s last directed film, 2022’s Nope, scored a four-star review from NME: “From the movie’s unpredictability, patterns and motifs emerge; something as simple as the one-word title becomes part mantra, part running joke, part time-keeping metronome. It turns out that Peele’s background as a sketch comedian doesn’t just make him aware of certain genre tropes, or able to inject humour into tense situations (though both of those things are true). At times, he seems to imply that comedy and horror are both ways of processing the perverse mysteries of the world—and looking at things we shouldn’t be looking at. This also makes Nope a film that rewards repeat watching.”

NTR to Begin The Second Schedule of Prashanth Neel’s Directorial NTR X Neel! Deets Inside!

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

NTR is a star who has always amazed his fans with his energy and charisma on screen. He is loved by fans all over the world. After making many hit films, he was a big surprise in the movie War 2 recently where he teamed up with Hrithik Roshan. Hindi movie goers saw NTR for the first time in a full-fledged Hindi film, but the movie didn’t impress all and had a somewhat middling-box office performance. But, NTR has moved on to the next big project and we have some important news about that.

According to a reliable source in the movie business, “NTR is going to start the second part of filming for Prashanth Neel’s movie, NTR x Neel in the first week of September.” NTR x Neel is going to be a massive film for NTR. When two of the biggest names in movies, the famous director Prashanth Neel and Jr. NTR come together, it is sure to be something special. For NTR fans, this movie is already being hailed as the biggest film of 2026.

Prashanth Neel, the director behind the hugely popular KGF series, will direct this action-packed film. It is set to release on June 25, 2026. The movie is being made by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, which means it will be a high-quality production with a big budget. This project is meant to show off NTR’s acting range and cater to his pan-India appeal.

Besides this film, he is also working with director Trivikram Srinivas on another big project. This one will be a grand story from Hindu mythology, where NTR will play the part of Lord Kumara Swamy. This is a very different kind of role for him, as he usually stars in action movies. NTR seems to be the kind of actor who is not afraid to try new things.NTR’s last release War 2 did promising numbers in Hindi and Telugu. Though the film was expected to do more, it didn’t quite live up to the expectations.

Warning: Minor spoilers ahead for Alien: Earth episodes 1 and 2.

Alien: Earth has emerged as one of the buzziest shows of the year to date, wowing viewers with its high production value, atmospheric sequences and weighty sci-fi concepts.

So far, the first episode of the series has attracted more than 9 million views across Disney Plus and Hulu (according to Variety), with that number expected to grow as the hype continues to build.

The series stars Sugar’s Sydney Chandler in the lead role of Wendy – a human child’s consciousness in a synthetic adult body – who finds herself on a collision course with the franchise’s iconic monsters.

Fargo writer Noah Hawley has opted to largely ignore major canon changes from Prometheus, in favour of having free rein to imagine his own dystopian vision of the future.

When is Alien: Earth episode 4 released on Disney+?
