Swara Bhasker says Aditya Chopra dismissed her request for role in Salman Khan’s Sultan: ‘Joh bhi kiya, cheen ke liya’

Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker recently opened up about asking for work without any hesitation. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Swara revealed that she had once texted filmmaker Aditya Chopra, requesting a role opposite Salman Khan in one of his films. However, the filmmaker politely turned her down.

Aditya Chopra rejected Swara Bhasker for Salman Khan’s Sultan.

Swara Bhasker on Aditya Chopra rejecting her

Swara revealed asking for role in Sultan and recalled, “I said, ‘I think, sir, aapko mujhe cast karna chahiye, main bahut acchi pehelwan banungi.’ He replied, ‘Nahi, mujhe aisa nahi lagta, Swara ( I said ‘I think, sir, you should cast me; I would make a very good wrestler.’ He said, No, I don’t think so, Swara.’) I said, ‘Okay, theek hai.’ (Okay, that’s fine).’ Look, if we maintain too much lihaaz-vihaj (formality and restraint), we won’t get work. We are outsiders, right? I didn’t have anyone who could call and recommend me. Maine jo bhi kiya hai, maine cheen-cheen ke liya hai, ya apne dum pe — jaise bhi mila mujhe (Whatever I’ve achieved, I’ve taken it by fighting for it or earned it on my own — however it came my way).”

Swara further added, “I’m very polite in every other aspect of my life, but kaam maangne mein mujhe kabhi sharam nahi aayi kisi se (I’ve never felt ashamed to ask anyone for work). I think that’s completely fine — I should ask for it. I may not enjoy doing it, but I still do, because I believe one shouldn’t have that hesitation. I always say, ‘I’d love to work with you. Please cast me, consider kar lijiye.’ (Please consider me) But ever since I became pregnant, I haven’t asked anyone for work.”

While Swara didn’t work with Salman in Sultan, she essayed the role of her sister in 2015 film Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo.

About Sultan

The 2016 sports drama film, written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, starred Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, alongside Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh in pivotal parts.

The story follows Sultan Ali Khan, a pehlwani wrestler and former world champion whose professional success strains his personal life. The film was a massive box office hit, collecting ₹607.84 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹80 crore.

About Swara Bhasker’s recent work

Swara is currently a participant in the reality television show Pati Patni Aur Panga, along with her husband Fahad Ahmad. Hosted by Sonali Bendre and Munawar Faruqui, the show tests the bond and compatibility of celebrity couples through a series of engaging tasks and challenges. The show is available to watch on JioHotstar.

‘Trigger Point’ Season 3 Villain Jason Flemyng Interview on ITV Role

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

You’ve probably seen English actor Jason Flemyng in Guy Ritchie and/or Matthew Vaughn‘s films, such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Layer Cake, Kick-Ass, and X-Men: First Class. You may have seen him in such Hollywood movies as Rob Roy, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Seed of Chucky, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Transporter 2 or in small independent films from around the world. Now he is playing the antagonist in one of Britain’s biggest TV dramas, season three of Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure.

Flemyng stars as Steven Wyles, who is causing the team of Explosives Officer, or Expo, Lana Washington, portrayed by McClure, all sorts of headaches with his sinister vendetta. “Someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenue,” according to a season three plot synopsis. “Working alongside the Police Counter Terrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim.”

Season three of the show, produced by Jed Mercurio’s (Line of Duty, Bodyguard) HTM Television, in association with All3Media International, which distributes the series internationally, starts airing on ITV1 and STV on Sunday and will be available to stream on ITVX and STV Player.

Flemyng talked to THR about his role and why he always seems to get cast as a baddie.

I told to a friend of mine that you got cast in Trigger Point, and he said, “Yes, I recognize him. He must play a bad guy!”

Flemyng [Laughs] Everyone says that. It’s so unfair. I’ve been playing those parts for my whole career, and I think I have been miscast from the very beginning of time until now. But that’s what I do. As soon as you see I’m in it, you know that people are gonna die.

What can you share about your character in season three without spoiling too much?

Initially, we see the victims, we see the explosions, we see the ramifications of his actions, but we don’t see him. It’s a cat-and-mouse game between me and Vicky, which was fun.

Vicky’s someone I’ve admired from a distance for a long time. When you meet people like that, you’re like, “Please, let them be nice.” And Vicky was exactly as I expected her and exactly as I wanted her to be. It was a happy shoot, and it comes from the top.

There are some big dialogue scenes with Vicky that were a joy. In football [aka soccer], if you go on to the pitch with Ronaldo, you look like an idiot, right? But in acting, if you go on to the set with Vicky or Stephen Graham or Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie, the better the actor, the better you are. Honestly, I’ve been really lucky.

What can you tell us about the dynamic between Vicky’s Lana and your character Steven?

It’s a classic film relationship between the compassionate copper, even though Vicky is not a copper, but, you know, the compassionate protagonist and my character. The story behind this character is that he is a little man. It’s David versus Goliath. He’s been fucked over by the capitalist system. He is a byproduct of profit, and he’s sick and dying, as a lot of his friends are. He has no way of fighting back. So he takes it into his own hands. It’s a sort of Robin Hood story to a degree.

Vicky’s character understands why he’s doing it, but obviously doesn’t agree with the way he’s doing it. But her character is compassionate and left-leaning, you could say. He does it the wrong way, and she understands why he’s doing it, but can’t agree with the way he does it. There are a lot of those head-to-head things where they discuss that, which is great. Her compassion for him is very understated, but we know it because she’s such a great actress.

There are some massive scenes in it, which you definitely don’t get in a film. I have more lines in one scene than I have in whole movies, because there are six-, seven-page scenes. But when you have good dialogue, it’s easy.

The writing was working well, and I hope that the audience will have compassion for him because they understand his predicament, and they understand what’s happened to him. I think in modern society, a lot of people feel voiceless, and a lot of people feel like they’re a byproduct of the capitalist system.

Did you know Trigger Point well? What was your reaction to the opportunity to join the show?

This landed on the desk, and I was like: Brilliant! It’s [shot] in London as well. Double brilliant! I really didn’t have much of an idea about it. I knew Vicky was in it, and I knew that it was Jed’s show. But then when I arrived on it, I knew this was a big deal. Usually, when people ask me what I am doing, I’m like: “I’m making this film about a lesbian sheep farmer in the Czech Republic. And it’s got subtitles in German.” And they’re like, “Oh yeah? Great.” But when I said I’m in Trigger Point, they were like, “Oh my god, yeah, Trigger Point.” It’s probably the most popular thing I’ve ever done.

I’m at an age where my kids are 14, and it’s nice to be on the telly and at home. It sits easy with me that I’m not in Jordan, making a film that not many people are ever going to see. It’s nice to be in London, filming with the people who know exactly what they’re doing in a really tight machine. I have now watched the other seasons, which are great. And I think this year, it’s sort of stepped up another level visually. It looks more cinematic and dramatic. So, I’m really excited to see what people think.

Will your fans get to see more of you on mainstream TV shows then, maybe even as the hero saving the day for once?

I’m with you on that. But the people who are in control need to make those decisions. (Laughs)

Task Star Emilia Jones On Getting Lost In Her Role As Robbie’s Niece

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

SPOILER ALERT! This story contains details from the season finale of Task on HBO.

Emilia Jones considers it a compliment that, while playing the emo niece of a criminal uncle in Task, no one realized that she previously played the only hearing member of a deaf family in the 2021 Oscar winner CODA.

“I went to the Rangers game last night and someone was like, ‘I didn’t recognize you without your mullet.’ And then someone else was like, ‘well, I didn’t recognize her with the mullet.’ So many people sent me text messages saying they didn’t realize it was me until episode three or two,” admits Jones of the CODA role that earned her a BAFTA nomination. “It’s such a compliment. That’s what I love about acting. I love playing characters you can totally disappear into. That was my goal and I feel very happy that people didn’t realize it was me.”

Here, the British actress who also played the title character of Reality in 2024’s Winner and Kinsey in Locke & Key addresses Sunday’s adrenaline-fueled finale and where she thinks her character took Robbie’s kids now that they’re free from harm.

DEADLINE Let’s start with the final episode. Talk about high octane.

EMILIA JONES It was so much fun because I love stunts and it was the climax of the show. We all worked together to make that scene so much more than what we thought it could be. Sam Keeley, who plays Jayson, gave me a look before we started shooting that sequence and was like, ‘let’s do this. Let’s just go for it.’ We slightly went off the script and had this back and forth fight. My adrenaline was so high the whole time and it was a really, really challenging but such a fun scene to shoot.

DEADLINE In the end, how do you think Maive felt about Robbie, played by Tom Pelphrey?

JONES I think Maeve is devastated, obviously, when Tom [Mark Ruffalo] tells her Robbie’s dead. Maeve has long been torn by his choices, and she saw the risks, the moral compromises, the danger that he brought into the family. But at the end of the day, he was still her uncle and he was deeply intertwined into her life. Although Robbie burdened Maeve with a lot of responsibility, she knew that she still had someone who was looking out for her. So it’s an absolute huge loss. I think that Maeve had come to the realization that Robbie’s heart was always in the right place. No matter what he did, he was trying to protect his family.

DEADLINE What was it like working with Tom?

JONES He’s such a giving actor. Building Maeve and Robbie’s relationship was such a joy with Tom because it’s a complicated relationship. There’s a lot of resentment there with Maeve and some conflicting emotions and anger, but at the same time, there’s so much love between them. Tom and I would hang out a lot in between filming. We would go to museums and dinners and we did this trippy room at the children’s museum and wore 3D glasses. We basically spent five hours laughing. That really helped us bond. It was easy, then, to play the anger and tough emotions because there was so much trust and love between us.

DEADLINE You were quite the kid wrangler in this. Have you ever worked with this many kids on a project?

JONES It’s funny, creator Brad Ingelsby, when I first spoke to him about this project, ended the Zoom before I read the script and said, ‘do you like kids?’ It was such a random question to ask. I was like, yeah, I love kids. Who doesn’t? And then I read the script and was like, oh, okay, I understand. I started acting when I was 8, so I saw myself in the kids. I remember when I was on set when I was young, someone would get me a present or something and it would just mean the absolute world to me. So I tried to do that with the kids. For Ben Doherty, who plays Sam, it was one of his first projects. He was just so happy to be on set. So I bought him a little Polaroid camera so he could take pictures of all the crew and cast to make a little scrapbook to remember everybody for the rest of his life.

DEADLINE Which kid called your character a chicken butthole, again?

JONES That was little Oliver Eisenson, who plays Wyatt. Wyatt loved saying chicken butthole just as much as Oliver loved it. It wasn’t improvisation, but he absolutely loved that he got to say it. A lot of those kind of scenes were improvised because Oliver is such a bundle of energy and he’s so perfect for Wyatt, so they just kept the camera rolling and let him do his thing.

DEADLINE Where would you like to think that Maeve and the kids went at the end?

JONES I have thought about that so much. I just hope that Maeve is able to get the support that she needs because for a lot of her life, she’s had to put things on pause and never put herself first. I would like to think that she’s living a happy life with Harper, Wyatt and the family that they are, but at the same time, being able to grow as a person and learn to do a few things for herself, because my goodness, she deserves it.

DEADLINE Was Task a game changer for you?

JONES I mean, CODA was such a game changer and I’m so grateful for it. It was a complete whirlwind. The whole award season was such an amazing experience and such an unexpected one. I felt so lucky to have been a part of that film. I was 17 and I’d never signed or sung before. For every skill that was required for that film, I had a big fat NO by every single one of them. And for some reason, the director Sian Hader took a risk and cast me. I’ll be forever grateful for Sian and for that film. CODA allowed me to be a part of Task and I’m so grateful. Task really enriched my life. Maeve came to me at a time when I really needed it. I found filming the show really cathartic and I learned a lot about myself.

DEADLINE What have you heard about the future of Task?

JONES I’ve caught wind of it [being an anthology], and I really hope that that happens. Brad is such an amazing writer and I think his characters are so layered and complex. The way he portrays moral ambiguity in characters is so intriguing and it’s what drew me to Task and to watch Mare of Easttown. I think it would be a shame not to keep this world alive.

Mikey Madison Debuts Freshly Chopped Hair for Her Next Role

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

“For this look, I wanted something that felt softly sculpted, natural, timeless, and romantic,” Calhoun shares with Vogue. “We were going for effortless yet refined, something classic, but with a modern touch. We started the day with a big haircut and transformation for an upcoming role, which really set the tone for the rest of the styling. I wanted the hair to move beautifully and feel touchable.”

Schwarzkopf Professional products were Calhoun’s go-to for the entire process. After the cut, Calhoun prepped Madison’s hair with the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Upload Bodyfying Cream, applying it from roots to ends on damp hair to add body, bounce, and control. Using a round brush, she blow-dried the hair smooth, all while keeping lift at the roots to maintain natural volume and movement. Once it was dry, Calhoun used a 1¼-inch curling iron to curl the hair in the same direction throughout, creating a uniform wave pattern. After curling, she pinned each section to cool and set the shape, which Calhoun says helps keep the waves in their hold, and a smooth finish. When the curls had fully cooled, she brushed through the hair to soften the texture and blend the pattern. Using setting clips, Calhoun shaped the waves together, refining the “S” shape, and allowing them to set for a few minutes.

Once the waves were defined, she misted the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Texture Craft Spray through the mid-lengths and ends to build a bit of texture and movement. To finish, she applied Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Freeze for long-lasting, locked-in hold, and using her fingers, brushed a small amount of Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Glow gently at the roots to tame flyaways. “The products really make the difference,” stresses Calhoun.

The rest of Madison’s glam was kept similarly classic; Melissa Hernandez was on-hand for a poreless base and ever-so-delicate, grapefruit-toned blush on the apples of her cheeks, a sweep of liquid eyeliner, and a flutter of ’60s-style lashes, with a rosy pink lip to finish.

Hair and makeup matched the romantic custom Dior gown, inspired by Look 71 from Jonathan Anderson’s spring 2026 collection and womenswear debut for the French house. The dress featured billowing sleeves cuffed just above the wrists to create a retro silhouette, with a deep scoopneck, bow-tied waist, and flowing skirt, all in a sheer, embroidered silver fabric. With its bouncing, three-dimensional hemline, the dress reflected the movement of her sleek, free-flowing hair. As Mikey Madison and Rena Calhoun show, the story starts with seriously good glam.

Charli XCX Makes Surprise SNL Appearance During Role Model Song

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Charli XCX wasn’t supposed to be Saturday Night Live‘s musical guest, but that didn’t stop her from making a surprise appearance on the late night show Saturday night.

Role Model, who served as the official musical guest of the second episode of season 51, hit the stage where he performed a rendition of his track, “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out.” When performing the song at his live shows, the artist typically brings out a special guest of his own, known better to fans as the “Sally girl.”

In the past, Role Model has chosen artists like Conan Gray and Charli XCX’s dear friend and Sweat Tour co-headliner Troye Sivan to serve the role. The two have taken joking jabs at one another on social media due to faux “Sally girl” drama, which included Role Model featuring the “Rush” singer during one of his shows.

However, it appeared Charli XCX and Role Model officially worked it out on the remix (or SNL stage) as she delivered a surprise cameo during his performance of the beloved song. Eagle-eyed fans also pointed out that the “360” singer wore the same shirt Role Model had on during promo shots that were released earlier this week for the episode. The shirt read, “max’s kansas city.”

The “Look At That Woman” singer made his SNL debut on Saturday night, where he was joined by host Amy Poehler. The second episode of season 51 proved to be a star-studded night in terms of appearances, as former cast members Tina Fey and Seth Meyers also made unanticipated cameos.

Charli XCX hosted SNL for the first time last year, where she also doubled as musical guest. The Grammy winner is known to spotlight fans and (sometimes) surprise celebrities during special segments of her concerts. Set to her track “Apple,” Charli XCX regularly picks a concertgoer or public figure to be platformed on the big screen of her shows, where they often recite the popular TikTok dance to the tune of her song.

Her SNL appearance comes amid speculation of an alleged feud with Taylor Swift. The latter singer’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, featured a track entitled “Actually Romantic,” which some fans believe is a response to Charli XCX’s 2024 track “Sympathy is a knife.”

Watch Role Model Bring Out Charli XCX for ‘Sally, When the Wine Runs Out’

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Role Model debuts on the late night show performing his viral hit with help from the British pop star, plus another song from his latest album

Singer-songwriter Role Model debuted as Saturday Night Live musical guest with two songs from the deluxe edition of Kansas Anymore, his second studio album, which he released in February.

After an introduction from SNL host Amy Poehler, the 28-year-old Maine native opened with “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” In live performances of the indie pop hit, Role Model has often invited a fan, another musician, or some other special guest to play the part of Sally. Here, it was Charli XCX.

The British pop singer—SNL‘s musical guest last November—received wild screams of approval from the audience. After dancing and swirling her hair to the song’s bridge, she slid her sunglasses onto Role Model’s face, blew him a kiss, then strutted away.

Role Model’s second performance was of the more mellow “Some Protector.”

The artist, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, has said his latest album, which follows 2022’s Rx, is a big step forward.

“I think the one thing I wanted to prove when I first put it out was my growth — my songwriting and my taste in music had matured, and I had also matured as a person,” he told Rolling Stone in a revealing April interview. “It felt like a big shift in the way I would talk about things and write about them, and a big part of that was just me getting to a place on guitar where I could play well enough that I could write songs by myself on it.”

Trending Stories

Role Model, who opened for Gracie Abrams last year and then headlined his No Place Like Tour this spring, will be one of the four artists at Rolling Stone‘s Musicians on Musicians live event Oct. 23 at New York’s Beacon Theatre. He will be paired with María Zardoya of the Marias, while Jack Antonoff will join Hayley Williams with Bleachers, for conversations and collaborative performances on stage. SNL‘s James Austin Johnson will host.

Role Model begins a stretch of European shows next month.

Jodie Whittaker reveals the iconic TV role she would have shaved her head for

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

She said: “I would have loved to have been Eleven in Stranger Things. I would have loved to have been a kid with a shaved head!”

“When I saw the first series I thought, ‘Oh my God, to be Millie Bobby Brown right now, what a part,'” Whittaker continued. “The first season of that show was incredible. It homages everything I adore, and that part is incredible. If I could have been a child with a skinhead, that would be the role for me, but I don’t think I was in the running.”

Whittaker laughed as she said: “So, no animosity to Millie Bobby Brown,” before suggesting that “Maybe if I had tried a little bit of sellotape to make me look a bit younger?”

Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things season 1. Netflix

Stranger Things fans are currently waiting for the show’s fifth and final season, which will be released in three parts starting later this year, while Whittaker can currently be seen playing con-woman Sam in ITV’s Frauds, opposite Suranne Jones.

Explaining what drew her to Frauds, Whittaker previously said: “When I read it, I was just blown away by how different these characters felt [and] this particular relationship, and the world that we were in… but it still felt authentic. I felt like I knew these people.

“As extreme as some of the characters are – we’re all pretty heightened – but there’s some kind of familiarity with it, and within this specific friendship.”

She also made a return to her role as the Doctor on Doctor Who earlier this year, for a cameo appearance in Ncuti Gatwa’s final episode, and has said she “wouldn’t hesitate” to come back again in future.

“It’s just my absolute happiness, Doctor Who,” she told The Times. “If someone said to me in 20 years, ‘I’ve written an episode and the Thirteenth comes back,’ I just wouldn’t hesitate. It’s absolute joy.”

Frauds is available to stream on ITVX now.

Shikhar Pahariya’s Paris Photo Shoot: Did Janhvi Kapoor Play The Role Of Personal Photographer? | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Shikhar Pahariya is presently basking in the beauty of Paris, allegedly with alleged girlfriend and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor. The couple, who were previously secretive about their relationship, have again set the internet buzzing with their Paris honeymoon, generating new rounds of speculations and admiration from the fans.

Janhvi Kapoor was in Paris for Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2026 presentation during the high-profile Paris Fashion Week. After the end of work assignments, the actress apparently accompanied Shikhar for some fun in the City of Love. Although neither has publicly confirmed relationship status, their constant appearance together, holiday pictures, and flirtatious social media interactions have turned them into one of Bollywood’s most discussed young couples.

Fueling the excitement, Shikhar recently posted a dashing solo picture of himself standing in front of the Eiffel Tower at dusk, looking radiant under the lights of Paris. Wearing a black leather jacket and dark shirt, he was stylishly thrownback and full of confidence. Posting the picture with a literary “Yeh Shaam Mastani,” he immediately got fans buzzing.

The comments section quickly lit up with reactions. Janhvi’s sister, Khushi Kapoor, commented, “Wow, Shiku haircut!!!” while their mutual friend Orry cheekily wrote, “Woof.” Actor Arjun Kapoor chimed in with, “Jacket game strong.” Among the many fan reactions, several speculated that Janhvi herself might have clicked the picture, with one user noting, “Janhvi Kapoor best photographer.”

To add to the mystery, various Parisian viral pictures and videos showed the alleged couple strolling hand-in-hand down cobbled streets and emerging from the upscale Hermès boutique, which suggested an expensive shopping bonanza. These peeks further stimulated buzz and intrigue among fans and media.
