Former EastEnders star James Bye lands major new role

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Nine months after his character Martin Fowler was killed off in the 40th anniversary live episode of EastEnders, James Bye has officially landed a major new role, joining the cast of hit stage show 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Bye will be playing Sam in the show’s new UK tour in 2026, alongside Hollyoaks, The Bill and Footballers’ Wives star Gary Lucy, who has been cast as Ben. Lucy also had a role in EastEnders, playing Danny Pennant between 2012 and 2014.

The news of Bye and Lucy’s casting was announced on 2:22 A Ghost Story’s Instagram account, alongside the news that Shvorne Marks will be reprising her role as Jenny, having played the character opposite Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, while Natalie Casey will be playing Lauren.

The play, written by Uncanny’s Danny Robins, has been running since 2021, with other stars who have featured across various productions including Lily Allen, Stephanie Beatriz, Mandip Gill, Cheryl, Louisa Lytton, Jake Wood, James Buckley and Tom Felton.

The synopsis for the play reads as follows: “Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben.

“Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they’ll know.”

This is the second stage show that Bye will have starred in since finishing his time on EastEnders. This year, he has also been starring in a new production of Death Comes to Pemberley.

When his role in that show was announced, Bye said of playing Mr Darcy: “I am leaving EastEnders on an absolute high after the explosive live 40th anniversary episode.

“After a decade of gritty storylines, it’s going to be quite a switch to put on period clothes as one of literature’s romantic leading men, but I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”

Death in the Family' Star Jason Clarke on Narcissist Role

Death in the Family’ Star Jason Clarke on Narcissist Role

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

How do you best tell a tragic story that everyone already seems to know? For “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” star and executive producer Jason Clarke, you have a little fun with it. Well, with an asterisk.

“I’ll give it to you straight up: it’s enjoyable being a narcissist,” Clarke said during a recent chat with IndieWire as part of our Pass the Remote panel series, presented in partnership with Disney, to celebrate the art and craft of TV. “It’s enjoyable being a good ol’ boy, you know what I mean? It’s good to be the king! There’s that whole side of it. Narcissism? I looked and thought about that a lot. A lack of empathy as well, ultimately. Which is where he truly ends up, with a lack of empathy. The man stands by his decision, I guess, in still not coming clean.”

Poker Face

In the miniseries, Clarke stars as convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh (complete with Southern accent and rusty red hair), infamous for killing his wife Maggie (Patricia Arquette) and son Paul (Johnny Berchtold) in 2021 following years of interfamily drama, trauma, and oops, yes, other mysterious deaths. For Clarke, tapping into Alex’s most basic (and base) desires was key to unlocking his character.

During the panel, hosted by IndieWire’s own Editor in Chief & Senior Vice President Dana Harris-Bridson, some of the limited series’ cast and crew joined Pass the Remote to talk about their meticulously researched show and what they hope viewers get out of it. Clarke was joined by co-creator and executive producer Erin Lee Carr; co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer Michael D. Fuller; hair department head Katie Ballard; casting director John Papsidera; and makeup department head Addison Foreman.

And while Clarke was joking a bit about enjoying the process, Clarke clearly relished tapping into whatever it is that makes Alex tick and applying it to his performance. He also credited Ballard and Foreman for assisting that transformation, not just through their own craft work, but by similarly diving head-long into a journey through “absurdity and vulgarity.” And Will Ferrell outtakes?

“There’s the mechanical way of going through that and processing it, and then there’s the subconscious way of just doing it,” Clarke said. “I’ll say, with Addison and Katie, we used to listen to what you could term narcissistic music and dance. … You have to stay happy! It’s not easy being a full-time narcissist, it’s a full-time job. Katie and Addison, who were in my space so much and were probably two of the only people I let into my space to see my absurdity and my vulgarity at times and my bad temper. … We’d do a lot of things, watch Will Ferrell to laugh, to get into, ‘fuckin’ the plums, just drippin’ down my chin!’ You have to have the big thing, to go out and just think, ‘Fuck it! I’m just concerned about me!’”

Watch the complete video of IndieWire’s “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” panel above. More Pass the Remote panels are available as well on IndieWire’s website and YouTube channel.

“Murdaugh: Death in the Family” is now streaming on Hulu, with new episodes rolling out through Wednesday, November 19, when the series finale will start streaming.

The IndieWire Pass the Remote Winter Edition, presented in partnership with Disney, will celebrate the art and craft of TV through a series of panels rolling out through early December 2025. Check back here for more.

Milo Ventimiglia explains why he had to keep his Call of Duty role a secret

Milo Ventimiglia explains why he had to keep his Call of Duty role a secret

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

14 November 2025

Milo Ventimiglia had to keep his Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 role a secret because he was forbidden from telling anyone he had been cast as the fan-favourite protagonist, David Mason.

Milo Ventimiglia was contractually forbidden from telling anyone he was playing David Mason in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

The 48-year-old actor stars in the blockbuster video game as the beloved Lieutenant Commander – who first appeared in 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II – and Ventimiglia has now revealed his contract with publisher Activision prevented him from telling anyone about the role, including his parents.

When the BBC asked the Girlmore Girls star what it was like to tell his friends and family about landing the part, he said: “I couldn’t tell them.

“That was actually the thing, like part of my contract [was] I could not say what I was working on.

“So I think like … I didn’t even tell my parents. A producer at the company we have together knew, and my wife knew.”

Ventimiglia added he thinks the secrecy around his role was something the fans would have wanted, so that the “excitement” around the game could be maintained.

He continued: “I think that’s what the fans want. They don’t want to be told too far ahead of time. They want that excitement.”

As well as Ventimigila, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 stars Kiernan Shipka as Emma Kagan and Michael Rooker as Mike Harper, who had previously portrayed the character in Black Ops II.

Reflecting on joining the iconic shooter franchise, Ventimigila said working on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 had been “intense, but also really fun”.

He said: “Honestly, when it comes to something like this – Call of Duty has such a legacy, such an iconic presence – you really want to get it right. And I feel like so many people on this team have been working on the franchise for years.

“It was lovely being in an environment where I could say, ‘This isn’t quite working’, and be surrounded by people who genuinely cared and helped figure it out.

“It was a super collaborative space, and I’m naturally a collaborative actor, so it suited me perfectly. Everyone was so kind and fun – even though the story is intense, the vibe was always great.

“That’s important to highlight: it was intense, but also really fun.”

On November 6, London hosted a pop-up event with Call of Duty’s Toshin Matcha Bar bringing the world of Black Ops into real life, offering an exclusive preview of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

High-profile guests, including Micky van de Ven and Hugo Chegwin, experienced a fusion of London’s matcha culture and high-energy gameplay, set to a live soundtrack by Nia Archives.

Inspired by the new Japanese-themed multiplayer map Toshin, the event opened with a serene, neon-lit Tokyo-style matcha bar serving limited-edition Layered Peach and Mango Uji Iced Matcha Lattes from Chinatown’s Tea Parlour.

From there, the experience intensified, as guests moved through a smoke-filled red tunnel into a disorienting mirror room, followed by a corridor encounter with the game’s villain, Menendez.

The journey continued through an interrogation room and an upside-down bar serving themed cocktails.

The main space featured a 1950s-style Nuketown airstream, gameplay stations, a surveillance-style face-capture installation displayed on a giant screen, and multiple photo moments.

Nia Archives and CLIPZ closed the night with high-energy DJ sets that completed the immersive Black Ops 7 world.

Emmerdale star Joshua Richards on Bear's shocking descent into modern slavery – and past role exploring "horrifying" subject matter

Emmerdale star Joshua Richards on Bear’s shocking descent into modern slavery – and past role exploring “horrifying” subject matter

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Joshua Richards has spoken at length for the first time about his Emmerdale character Bear Wolf’s shocking new storyline.

Bear, who has been missing for several months while his son Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) assumed he was staying with a friend in Ireland, has actually been manipulated as a victim of modern slavery.

Shedding light on Bear’s circumstances, Richards told RadioTimes.com and other press that “basically it’s something that you can slip into, and if you’ve been manipulated a certain way”.

“And being a certain age as well, where maybe you do think that you’re useless and redundant, if someone convinces you that no, you are worth something, that you do have some kind of currency. Currency being the operative word,” he emphasised.

It’s a harrowing new story for the soap. ITV

“You can be somehow manipulated into a situation that you didn’t envisage seeing yourself in, in the first place. So it’s quite fascinating how these things actually do happen.”

The actor has described Bear’s ordeal as “one of the most horrifying things you can possibly think of”.

“Some are in the dark web of life, there are people who are gangs, who are criminals, who are ready to exploit people. Because the biggest bill you’ll ever get for anything you have done, for example your house extension, the biggest part of your bill is the labour,” he explained.

“And if criminal gangs can take that essence out, that you don’t have to pay for that labour, then that’s where big profits are made, people are exploited and misery begins.”

Richards went on to share how he prepared for such a harrowing storyline.

“All I can do is be a very old-fashioned actor and read the script because I don’t hold with the method way of things,” he said. “I didn’t lock myself away in a tent or hide in the countryside and try to scrabble along.

“No, I just read the scripts and used my imagination to put myself in the position of other people, who are in the real position. Basically it’s done by the auspices of the great researchers and the writers of the drama.”

Something that helped the star, who joined Emmerdale in 2019 as Paddy’s long-lost father, was that he has already portrayed modern slavery in his career.

Paddy looks worried in Emmerdale

Paddy thinks the police aren’t taking the situation seriously. ITV

“But also what’s fortunate for me, in 2007 I did a play written by John Godber and Jane Thornton from Hull Truck [Theatre Company] called Sold. Which was all about modern slavery.

“That was 18 years ago and we did it in Hull and also in Liverpool University, so it’s not a new subject for me; it’s something I’ve been aware of for many years and even before I did that play.

“It is quite frightening that even as we speak, there are about [50] million people in modern day slavery, which is horrific.”

Asked about the instalment in which Emmerdale will detail how Bear was targeted, Richards revealed: “Yes, it’ll be a standalone episode, where we’ll have some kind of explanation of what exactly happened to him after he got in his car and drove away.

“We did see a few weeks after he’d left the village that he was still with his car and not with his friend Gnasher in Ireland at all. So we will find out exactly what happened to him.”

The episode was filmed backwards, meaning that, after being assured that he would be coming back to the show, Richards had one specific assignment during his time off.

Celia Daniels grabs April Windsor and threatens her in Emmerdale

Celia and Ray – who are already grooming Amelia and Dylan – are his captors. ITV

“Clare Golds in make-up said: ‘Whatever you do, don’t cut your hair and don’t shave your beard. Go raggedy’. So I became a raggedy old man while I was off.

“You first see Bear when he’s at the real bottom, looking really filthy and scraggly and unkempt. Then bit by bit we took it away.”

While soaps have briefly explored modern slavery in recent years, this is the first time it will be covered in depth – and with an older character like Bear, who, notes Richards, typically considers himself strong and capable of defending himself.

“I thought it would be interesting, because of course Bear has been experiencing this depression and confusion. So maybe it’s a great thing to find him so vulnerable – a big strong man being vulnerable and exploited.”

On the message he hopes this story can send, Richards told RadioTimes.com and other media: “Be aware – it’s going on under our noses.

“We all have our cars cleaned and say: ‘Ooh, that’s cheap’. But who are the people cleaning your car? I mean, that’s just a very tiny part of it.

“It’s other things, it’s people who are picking your spuds, it’s people who are fixing your driveway, maybe there’s somebody doing work on your roof. You really don’t know. I mean, there are bona fide proper people – builders, farmers, other people – out there,” he said.

“I’m very proud to be part of what ITV is doing with these wonderful writers and the great research which has gone on. And maybe hopefully something… it will prompt something and there will be action.”

Paddy looks towards Bear on location in Belfast in Emmerdale

Joshua joined the soap in 2019. ITV

How does Richards think the viewers will react to the revelations about Bear?

“They’ll be furious!”

“I do get people coming up to me and saying: ‘How is Bear? We’re worried about him?’ You think ‘this is great’ because people who watch this soap really do care.”

Emmerdale is working with the Salvation Army on Bear’s story, which has also seen teens April and Dylan groomed in recent weeks.

bitchy | Duchess Meghan filmed a ‘small cameo role’ in a movie in LA this week

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Late Tuesday and early Wednesday, Page Six published a trilogy of stories about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, all of them sourced and promoted from Kensington Palace. Prince William is not slick in the least, and the tabloid stories were part of William’s emotional-support smearing! In one of the stories, a “Hollywood source” swore up and down that people in LA absolutely hate Harry and Meghan, and that no one wants to work with them. Not even 24 hours later, the Sun and the LA trade papers got the tip that Meghan was actually at a studio, filming a small role in a movie with Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Hahahaha. From the Sun, an outlet which put this story on their cover (hahaha).

Stars will welcome back the Duchess of Sussex as she shoots a Hollywood movie. Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid — son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid — and Brit Henry Golding are among those filming Close Personal Friends.

Meghan, who announced her retirement from acting eight years ago, is on set today in Pasadena, LA, playing herself in the Amazon MGM Studios production about two couples, one famous and the other not.

Last night a studio source said: “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set. Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

[From The Sun]

Not “she has been swamped with offers”!!! Not an admission that people in LA love Meghan and want her to work on their films and TV projects! My god, this is so funny. What else… Variety confirmed the Sun’s story and they said Meghan filmed a “small cameo role” in the film about “a ‘regular’ couple that meets a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, lines are crossed and things get awkward.” What’s crazy about that is… why not film Meghan’s cameo IN Santa Barbara, close to where she lives? Why did they ask her to schlep to the studio?? Anyway, People Magazine had this exclusive as well:

Meghan Markle’s newest role has her feeling “very relaxed and happy.” After eight years away from acting in film and television productions, the Duchess of Sussex is now working on a movie featuring stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson, an insider confirms to PEOPLE on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Sun was first to report the news of Meghan’s new project after she was seen on the set of Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends in Pasadena, Calif.

“Meghan was on the set today,” the insider exclusively tells PEOPLE, adding that Meghan has a small role in the project.

“She seemed very relaxed and happy,” the insider continued. “She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”

[From People]

Going from what I know about Lily Collins and Brie Larson, I bet both women were super-excited to see Meghan. Brie is very hippie/nature/granola, and I feel like Meghan definitely has that side to her too. Lily is a big deal over at Netflix (Emily in Paris) and so is Meghan, so they probably talked business. Anyway, it is cracking me up that Meghan was on a studio set in LA on the same day as Prince William’s Earthshot AND Harry was doing events in Toronto as well.

‘Susheela Ki Jawani’: Farah Khan offers Tees Maar Khan 2 to Ananya Panday, gives her Katrina Kaif’s sister’s role

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

In 2010, fifteen years ago, Farah Khan directed Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in Tees Maar Khan. The film received negative reviews, but it achieved moderate success at the box office and emerged as a cult classic over time. Akshay and Katrina’s sizzling chemistry, Akshaye Khanna’s impeccable comic timing and the iconic dance number Sheila Ki Jawani were some of the biggest highlights of the heist comedy film. But is there scope for a sequel? Well, Farah has now spilled the beans about Tees Maar Khan 2 on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s chat show. And Ananya Panday is hoping to get a role in it!

Katrina Kaif and Ananya Panday

Today on an episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, hosts Twinkle Khanna and Kajol were joined by the new besties in town — actor Ananya Panday and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan. In one segment, Kajol pointed out, “Tees Maar Khan didn’t do well but Sheila Ki Jawani did very well. That was a mixed bag.” Hearing this, Farah replied, “But I just want to tell you all, contrary to what people say, it made ₹64 crores, 15 years ago. And it’s a Gen Z cult film. In fact, when you ask which movie I should make a part two to, they write Tees Maar Khan. Kajol stop making that face! Ask your son, he’ll love it.”

Twinkle chimed in and said, “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me that there are some talks about Tees Maar Khan part two.” Hearing this, an excited Ananya asked, “Can I be in it?” To this, Farah replied, “Yeah, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.” Kajol then joked, “Sheila… you’ll be Leela Ki Jawani.” Meanwhile, Farah joked, “Susheela Ki Jawani also you can be.”

Can you imagine Ananya Panday as Katrina Kaif’s onscreen sister in Tees Maar Khan 2? We wonder what role Akshay Kumar will play this time.

Vicky Kaushal Gave Up Non-Veg And Alcohol For His Upcoming Role As Lord Parashurama in Amar Kaushik’s “Mahavatar”

After the massive success of Chhava, Vicky Kaushal is all set to take on another epic historical film. The actor will soon collaborate with Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik for a magnum opus titled “Mahavatar”, based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, an immortal incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to a recent report by one of the media houses, Vicky Kaushal has decided to make significant lifestyle changes before stepping into this divine role.

Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal Quit Alcohol

The actor plans to give up alcohol and non-vegetarian food as part of his preparation for Mahavatar. A source close to the film revealed, “A film like Mahavatar requires complete concentration, and both Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik are determined to give it their all. They’ve decided to give up non-vegetarian food and alcohol. Preparations for the film will begin with a grand puja ceremony next year.”

The source further added, “Amar has already given up his eating and drinking habits, while Vicky will do the same after completing the shoot of Love and War. This is his way of showing respect to the character of Lord Parashurama.” The much-anticipated project, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, is expected to go on floors in late 2026 and release in theaters in 2028. The film is touted to be one of the biggest mythological productions ever made in India, combining cutting-edge technology with a story rooted in ancient Indian lore.

Vicky Kaushal

In May 2025, producer Dinesh Vijan spoke about Mahavatar, emphasizing the importance of telling stories inspired by India’s heritage. He said, “Over the last 10 years, we’ve been focusing on telling stories rooted in our own culture rather than chasing Western narratives. India is the only country with such rich mythology and history. Stree and Chhava are examples of that. Mahavatar is probably our biggest film yet, we want to make it grand, world-class, and culturally authentic.”

Doomsday’ reported to be Patrick Stewart’s final acting role

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly be the final acting role in the career of Patrick Stewart.

The film is set to be released in cinemas on December 18, 2026 and it will feature the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this time in the role of the supervillain Doctor Doom.

The Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and the original X-Men will all team up to take on Doctor Doom in the film, and among them will be Stewart as Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, and Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Now, it has been reported that Stewart, who is 85, will give up acting once the film is completed. As discussed on The Kristian Harloff Show on November 3, Stewart will supposedly be “done with acting” and will be “stepping down” after Doomsday.

Stewart is one of the most respected actors of his generation, having studied at the Royal Shakespeare Company and earning a reputation as a stage actor, winning two Olivier Awards. He achieved new levels of fame playing Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1987 to 1994, reprising the role in the 2020 spinoff series.

He played Professor X in Fox’s original trio of X-Men films from 2000 to 2006 and after Disney’s acquisition of Fox, he has become a part of the MCU, appearing in 2022’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

Doomsday will be the 39th film in the MCU and the fifth Avengers movie and will see the return of directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who also helmed Infinity War and Endgame among other MCU titles.

Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd will return as Thor, Captain America and Ant-Man respectively, as will Letitia Wright as Shuri, aka Black Panther, and Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn will bring their Fantastic Four characters into the Avengers world.

Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Lewis Pullman and David Harbour will also be a part of the film as the New Avengers, as established in Thunderbolts* earlier this year, while Ryan Reynolds is also reported to be making an appearance as Deadpool.

Earlier this year, Avengers: Doomsday was moved from May 2026 to December, giving the production extra time to finish up but leaving fans impatient. One of the film’s cast, Alan Cumming, confirmed the return of his X-Men character Nightcrawler in the film.

Macaulay Culkin has stepped back into his Kevin McCallister role for a new Christmas advertising campaign with a message about family and ageing.

Macaulay Culkin has stepped back into his Kevin McCallister role for a new Christmas advertising campaign with a message about family and ageing

The 45-year-old actor, best known for playing quick-witted lad Kevin who outsmarts burglars in 1990 comedy Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), is starring in a new “Home But Not Alone” campaign for Home Instead, a company providing in-home care for older adults.

This time, the character of Kevin’s focus is on keeping his mother, Kate McCallister, played again by 71-year-old Catherine O’Hara, safe at home.

In a series of newly-released clips released as part of the campaign, Macaulay reprises his character from the original films. The main ad opens with a hand-drawn map titled “Mom’s Safety Plan”, showing danger zones around the house and notes reminding Kevin to secure a carpet to prevent tripping, raise the toilet seat and install a stairlift.

Kevin says in the video while wrapping outdoor decorations in bubble wrap: “I’m just worried about mom being by herself, y’know? What if she falls down or gets snowed in? They never did catch that South Bay Shovel Slayer.”

His conversation is interrupted by the sound of a shovel scraping the pavement, leading to an encounter with Old Man Marley’s granddaughter – a nod to the original film’s neighbour.

She asks him what he’s doing and suggests a different approach, asking: “Have you tried talking to her about getting a little help?”

She adds: “The scariest part is starting that conversation. Then at least you’ll know and can stop worrying about it. It’s not easy, but how you feel about family is a complicated thing.”

The campaign was directed by Jody Hill, who said about the ad campaign in a release shared with People: “We wanted to tell this story authentically, recognising that we all experience this moment with a loved one at some point.

“It goes beyond holiday nostalgia to connect with Kevin McCallister years later – as he faces the same concerns many of us have as our parents age. It’s real, it’s funny, and it’s deeply human.”

The “Home But Not Alone” ads are set to air during broadcasts of Home Alone and other festive programming, as well as throughout college football coverage until 11 January.

Macaulay filmed several additional clips for the project, including one re-creating a famous moment from the original movie in which Kevin’s grocery bags split open on the street.

Despite more than three decades since first playing the role, the actor said the connection between himself and Kevin remains strong – and is one now shared with his own family.

In December 2024, the father of two told E! News his four-year-old son, Dakota had begun confusing his own memories with scenes from the films.

Macaulay said: “He thinks he’s Kevin.

“I’m like, ‘Do you remember going down the stairs on the sled?’ He’s like, ‘Mmhmm, yep. Sure do.’ I’m like, ‘Do you remember when he had yellow hair?’ And he’s like, ‘Uh-huh, yep’.”

Macaulay added he responded by calling Dakota “a lying liar who lies”.

Salman Khan is reportedly set to make an appearance in Riteish Deshmukh’s historical movie Raja Shivaji. The superstar will portray Jeeva Mahala, the courageous and loyal warrior who stood as one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s most trusted aides. According to reports, Salman will shoot his sequence on November 7, 2025 and the scene is expected to be one of the film’s standout moments. While not much has been revealed, it is for sure that fans can expect great results from Salman and Riteish’s collaboration.

Salman Khan has previously made cameo appearances in Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhaari and the song Ved Lavlay from the film Ved.

About Jeeva Mahala

Jeeva Mahala played a crucial role in protecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during the fierce attack by Sayyad Banda, the trusted lieutenant of Afzal Khan. This defining act of courage will be a major highlight in the film. With Salman Khan stepping into the role of Jeeva and Sanjay Dutt portraying Afzal Khan, the audience can look forward to a grand, emotionally charged cinematic moment that honours timeless bravery, loyalty and history.

On the professional front, Salman Khan’s lineup remains packed with high-octane commercial entertainers like his upcoming and much awaited war drama, Battle of Galwan which has already set the internet talking and generated an intrigue amongst the audience ever since the first look was out.

Salman recently spoke about the physical challenges he faced while playing his character in the film. He said, “It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I have to give more time now. Earlier, I would manage it in one or two weeks, but now I’m running, kicking, punching, and doing all that stuff. This film demands that. For instance, in Sikandar, the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult, especially shooting in Ladakh, at high altitudes and in cold water.”
