Lilli Reinhart reveals endometriosis diagnosis after ‘multiple urologists and gynecologists’ dismissed her symptoms

by jummy84 December 12, 2025

Actor Lilli Reinhart has shared her diagnosis of endometriosis – a chronic disease whose symptoms include severe pain during menstruation and heavy menstrual bleeding – which was officially confirmed last week following laparoscopic surgery. Lilli Reinhart announced her endometriosis diagnosis, confirmed by laparoscopic surgery, and shared a candid Instagram post detailing her journey. (Instagram/ Lilli Reinhart)

In a candid Instagram post on December 11, the Riverdale actor shared hospital photos and detailed her frustrating and protracted journey to receive an accurate diagnosis, highlighting the importance of self-advocacy.

‘I was told there was no cure’

Lilli’s health struggles began earlier, when she was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis (IC) last year after consulting a urogynecologist. She was told there was ‘no cure for her symptoms’, a period that involved three hospital visits and consultations with multiple urologists and gynecologists.

“Last week, I was officially diagnosed with endometriosis following laparoscopic surgery. Last year, I saw a urogynecologist and was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. I was told there was no cure — and no lasting relief — for my symptoms. Three hospital visits. Multiple urologists and gynecologists. And not one of them seriously considered endometriosis as the underlying cause of what I was experiencing,” Lilli wrote in her Instagram caption, shedding light on the common diagnostic challenges faced by those with the condition.

Actor’s path to diagnosis

The key turning point in her health journey came through working with pelvic floor therapists. Lilli said that it was through their guidance that ‘the word endometriosis was even mentioned to her as a possible source of her pain’. Her self-advocacy led her to pursue an MRI on her own, which revealed a diagnosis of adenomyosis, a condition where endometrial tissue grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This, in turn, prompted her to meet with an endometriosis specialist who recommended laparoscopic surgery.

Highlighting the persistent challenge of medical dismissal, Lilli wrote, “It wasn’t until I worked with two different pelvic floor therapists that the word endometriosis was even mentioned to me as a possible source of my pain. I pushed for an MRI on my own, which led to a diagnosis of adenomyosis. From there, I met with an endometriosis specialist who helped me decide that laparoscopic surgery was the next step I wanted to take — while, at the same time, another gynecologist told me I ‘probably didn’t have endo’ and should just go on the pill.”

Raising awareness for a misunderstood disease

Lilli expressed relief in trusting her instincts and stressed the necessity of others doing the same. “I’m glad I trusted my body and listened to my gut and will continue advocating for others to do so,” she said.

Lilli used her platform to raise awareness about the scale and severity of the disease. The actor shared that endometriosis is “an extremely misunderstood disease, leaving often a 4-11 year gap between symptoms and a definitive surgical diagnosis.” The World Health Organisation estimates that 1 in 10 people with uteruses have endo, she added.

Her announcement is expected to bring greater visibility to the chronic condition, which involves tissue similar to the lining of the uterus growing outside of the uterus, causing significant pain and other health complications.

Letterboxd VOD Platform Video Store Reveals First Films

by jummy84 December 8, 2025
written by jummy84

After years of documenting the viewing habits of cinephiles everywhere, Letterboxd is entering the distribution world. On December 10, the site will launch Video Store, a new VOD platform that allows users to rent a curated selection of movies curated by the Letterboxd team.

With Video Store debuting on Wednesday, Letterboxd has answered some of our questions about the previously announced platform. Video Store will use a transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) model, in which users pay to watch individual movies without any subscription fee. The product will launch in 23 countries, and the app will be available on iOS, Android, web browsers, and a variety of smart TVs.

'Cronos' (1993)

The first nine films will be arranged into two “shelves”: Unreleased Gems, consisting of recent festival favorites that previously did not have distribution; and Lost & Found, which is comprised of previously lost or newly restored classics.

Notable titles include Todd Haynes’ 1991 debut feature “Poison,” Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s “Before We Vanish,” and 2025 SXSW premiere “It Ends.”

“Weʼre incredibly proud of what we and our community have built,ˮ Letterboxd CEO and co-founder Matthew Buchanan said in a statement. “We take their lead, and believe that has been integral to Letterboxdʼs success. They tell us what’s really happening — a 1980s action film suddenly trending, a festival title from two years ago still being added to watchlists.”

He continued, “Video Store lets us act on that real demand, whether itʼs helping a distributor unlock value from a forgotten gem in its vault or giving a filmmaker direct access to the audience theyʼve been building on our platform. Itʼs our way of saying to the industry: letʼs harness this interest to get films to the people who want them most.ˮ

Keep reading for the full slate of titles launching on Video Store, with language provided by Letterboxd.

UNRELEASED GEMS

“It Ends” (2025) – Director Alexander Ullom’s directorial debut about recent grads trapped on an infinite, nightmarish backroad made waves when it premiered at SXSW 2025, going on to win Best First Feature at Fantasia International Film Festival and the Narrative Feature Grand Jury Award at the Atlanta Film Festival.

“Sore: A Wife from the Future” (2025) – Director Yandy Laurens’ inventive time-loop sci-fi romance about a woman who travels back in time to change her husband’s destiny received eight nominations at the 2025 Indonesian Film Festival, including Best Picture, and has been selected as Indonesia’s submission for the Best International Feature Film for the upcoming Academy Awards.

“Kennedy” (2023) – Anurag Kashyap’s neo-noir thriller following a presumed-dead insomniac ex-cop seeking redemption in Mumbai’s dark streets premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, going on to screen at over twenty international festivals.

“The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo” (2025) – Director Diego Céspedes’ feature debut about an eleven-year-old girl protecting her town’s queer community from superstitious panic won the Un Certain Regard Prize at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and has been selected as Chile’s submission for the Best International Feature Film for the upcoming Academy Awards.

LOST & FOUND

“Tiger on the Beat” (1988) – This legendary 1988 action-comedy starring Chow Yun-Fat and directed by Lau Kar-Leung remains a beloved classic of Hong Kong cinema. For most of the world, this is the first opportunity to see the new 4K restoration—a digital exclusive to Letterboxd at launch.

“Kisapmata” (1981) – Considered one of the greatest Filipino films of all time, Mike de Leon’s masterpiece about a young woman living under her domineering father’s suffocating control won ten awards at the 1981 Metro Manila Film Festival including Best Film and screened at Cannes. This brand new 4K restoration premieres digitally, celebrating the late director’s uncompromising vision that faced censorship under the Marcos regime.

“It Must Be Heaven” (2019) – This comedy won both the Special Mention from the Main Competition Jury and FIPRESCI Prize at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, but its theatrical release was delayed for over a year due to the pandemic, limiting its reach despite widespread praise. . Suleiman’s distinctive visual satire continues his acclaimed tradition of observational comedy that speaks to universal themes of displacement and belonging.

“Poison” (1991) – This groundbreaking film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1991 Sundance Film Festival and became a lightning rod in the culture wars, with conservative politicians attempting to defund the NEA over its support. The first feature from future Oscar nominee Todd Haynes established him as a fearless voice in independent cinema.

“Before We Vanish” (2017) – Based on a cult Japanese stage play, master filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s alien invasion story screened in Un Certain Regard at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, showcasing the acclaimed director’s distinctive take on the genre.

Veteran Actor Dharmendra Passes Away at 89
Bollywood

Aamir Khan Calls Dharmendra a Gentle Giant, Reveals He Saw Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947

by jummy84 November 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Aamir Khan recently remembered late actor Dharmendra and called him underrated, despite his mastery over different genres. Speaking at the International Film Festival of India, the actor said, “Well, I’ve grown up watching him. He was known as the action hero and the He-man. And of course, he was extremely good in portraying these strong characters in action films. But I don’t know whether people have really noticed, I think he’s underrated.”

Khan continued, “His performances in romance or different genres are so great. He’s done so well in comedy. My God, he’s done amazing comedy, romance, and dramas. According to me, Dharamji was right up there… And what a handsome person.”

The actor also expressed his regret over not being able to attend Dharmendra’s prayer meet which took place on November 27.

For the uninitiated, Aamir Khan never shared the screen with Dharmendra, but he appeared as a child actor in the film Yaadon Ki Baarat, which starred Dharmendra, Vijay Arora, Tariq Khan and Zeenat Aman among others. Khan also produced Sunny Deol’s yet-unreleased film Lahore 1947. The actor revealed that they had the chance to show Dharmendra the film.

Aamir Khan Dharmendra“In fact, ‘Lahore’, the film we’ve made with Sunny. I had the good fortune of showing him the film, so he’s seen the film. It’s not released yet, of course, but I was so glad, because this was one of his favourite scripts. So, I’m so glad he got to see the film.”

The Lagaan actor further called Dharmendra a great actor and a gentle giant and continued, “Dharamji was not only a fine actor, but he was a great human being. He was so gentle. He was like a gentle giant, and he was very loving no matter who he would meet… He was a great actor, and it’s a great loss for all of us. He’s really an institution. He had such a command over his language. Unki zubaan itni saaf thi… It was so soft that it was amazing to hear him, even in live events when he would speak… I remember, I was there at the book launch for Yusuf Saab , and there he spoke. He spoke with such dignity. Really, it’s a big loss for all of us. I’m fortunate I got to spend some time with him.”

The legendary actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89.

New Report Reveals Trust, ROI, and AI as Defining Issues for the Global Awards Industry in 2025

by jummy84 November 25, 2025
written by jummy84

A new industry study, The Business of Awards: 2025 Industry Insight, reveals that while the global awards sector remains a multi-billion-pound powerhouse, it faces mounting challenges around credibility, return on investment (ROI), and the disruptive role of artificial intelligence (AI).

The report — based on a cross-stakeholder survey of awards organisers, sponsors, entrants, and judges, alongside interviews with leaders from Epica, Arc Europe, the PPA, Arena International, and more — highlights that fewer than half of stakeholders believe judging processes are transparent. Nearly a fifth go further, describing them as opaque.

“Trust is the currency of awards. Without transparent judging and clear separation of sponsorship from results, the commercial model risks collapse,” said Mark Tungate, Editorial Director of the Epica Awards.

Other key findings include:

  • Credibility under scrutiny – Less than half of stakeholders rate judging as transparent; scams and “pay-to-play” perceptions are widespread.
  • ROI pressure – Sponsors cite brand visibility and networking as top objectives, but demand measurable outcomes “beyond the night.”
  • Formats in flux – Almost two-thirds of stakeholders favour in-person awards, with hybrid models a strong secondary preference.
  • AI disruption – Judges are already encountering formulaic, AI-generated entries, raising urgent questions about authenticity.
  • Future growth – Year-round engagement, lifecycle analytics, and international expansion are identified as key opportunities.

“The awards industry is resilient, but long-term success will depend on credibility and proof of value,” said Ben Flight, Arena International. “Sponsors increasingly demand evidence that their investment delivers impact.”

The 50-page report combines survey data with expert commentary from:

  • Mark Tungate (Epica Awards)
  • Sophie Eke (Arc Europe)
  • Sarah Austin (British Business Excellence Awards)
  • Melissa Irving (emap)
  • Hannah Bray (PPA)
  • Helen Wilson (Haymarket Media Group)
  • Paul Schnell (Evessio)
  • Simon Burton (Power 100)
  • Donna O’Toole (August Recognition)

Adam Parry, Co-Founder of Event Industry News and lead editor of the report, said:

“Awards remain a vital part of the events economy — but credibility, innovation, and ROI are now non-negotiable. Our research provides organisers, sponsors, and entrants with a roadmap to navigate the next decade of recognition.”

He’s off on a road tour! The best-in-the-biz indie distributor Neon has just announced that they’re taking award-winning Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi on a tour around the US for Q&As for his new film titled It Was Just an Accident (watch the trailer) – which already began its run in limited theaters in October. Check your local listings. Most cinephiles already know that Panahi won the coveted Palme d’Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival for this film, which is about a group of Iranian people seeking revenge on a man they believe is their torturer from the time they were kept in prison by Iran’s authoritarian regime. It’s “a deeply felt moral thriller, where high stakes tension combines with unexpected flurries of humor and thoughtful, sometimes devastating questions regarding persecution & revenge.” Neon has revealed that Panahi will tour with It Was Just an Accident to 7 cities in late November: mainly in NY, CA, WA, MA, IL. He will also make “a new short film to document his journey” while on the road. Panahai was imprisoned by Iran in 2010 for making films and then again in 2022 – and was barely released in 2023 before he went on to make this film.

Vahid (Vahid Mobasseri), an unassuming mechanic, has a chance encounter with Eghbal, a man that he strongly suspects to be his former sadistic jailhouse captor. Panicked, he gathers several former prisoners, all abused by that same captor, to try and confirm Eghbal’s identity. As the bickering group drives around Tehran with the captive, they now must confront how far to take matters into their own hands with their presumed tormentor. It Was Just an Accident, originally known as Un Simple Accident (in French) or also A Simple Accident, is written and directed by iconic Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, director of many films including The Circle, The Mirror, Crimson Gold, Offside, Closed Curtain, Taxi Tehran, 3 Faces, and No Bears previously. Produced by Jafar Panahi, Philippe Martin, David Thion. This initially premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Palme d’Or top prize. Neon opens Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident film in select US theaters starting October 15th, 2025 this fall. Tour details here.

Bill Maher Reveals Why He Refuses to Do Stand-Up Comedy Again

by jummy84 November 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Bill Maher doesn’t have any plans to hit the road again for more stand-up comedy shows due to the current intense political divide in the United States.

The comedian and host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher recently chatted with Patton Oswalt on his Club Random podcast, where he opened up about why he’s decided to stop doing live comedy shows.

“I feel like it was a great choice because I don’t want to be out there in this country in this political atmosphere. I could get shot by the left or the right,” he said. “It’s a good time to not be out there.”

In addition to getting “tired of the travel,” Maher said he also “got tired of being twice as funny as people who were selling twice as many tickets as me.”

“That’s, you know, partly because I’m on TV every week,” he continued. “And not that I didn’t sell a lot of tickets and do great theaters, but I didn’t sell arenas, and some people did who frankly are not that great. But, you know, when the audience is 35 to 45, they don’t want to see somebody 70. I want to see my generation, and it’s OK. I still have my show. I have this. I didn’t need it. I miss it, but that’s part of what it is.”

Maher, who has been outspoken about his moderately democratic views for years, describing himself as “an old-school liberal,” has faced backlash from both sides of the political aisle.

While he’s regularly criticized Donald Trump and other conservative figures, in April, the comedian shared his new perspective on the president following their meeting at the White House. Maher concluded that Trump was actually “gracious and measured,” and not like the “person who plays a crazy person on TV,” drawing criticism from some, such as Marc Maron.

Maher’s most recent comedy special, Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?, premiered earlier this year on HBO.

Sophia Bush reveals how much she earned per episode on One Tree Hill

14 November 2025

Sophia Bush took home around $3,000 per episode for One Tree Hill.

Sophia Bush reveals how much she earned per episode on One Tree Hill

The 43-year-old actress appeared as Brooke Davis, one of the main characters in The WB/ CW drama series, from 2003 to 2012, but she admitted the difference in pay between actors was “wild”.

Speaking at a Tech Futures panel, she said: “Everybody was coming from something.

“I had been the philanthropy chair of my sorority at USC.

“So, the difference in pay scale was wild.

“Once I paid 10 per cent to my managers, 10 per cent to my agents, five per cent to my lawyers, a publicist fee, my taxes, and the $3,000-a-month that my two-bedroom apartment in Wilmington cost me, I was taking home about $3,000 per episode.”

In July, Sophia admitted she wasn’t “really given the opportunity” to negotiate her salary during the series.

When asked on The Burnouts podcast if she ever got a chance to discuss her earnings with show bosses, she said: “We weren’t really given the opportunity to do that.

“They would always tell us we were on the verge of getting cancelled so that we wouldn’t try.”

However, ahead of season four, her legal team stepped in and stood up for her.

She said: “They just said, ‘Listen, we know none of the girls are making what the boys are making.

“‘But you cannot pay her a third of what the woman making the least amount of money on the show is making.’

“They really went to bat for me.”

Despite her pay rise, Sophia was still earning “under 20 per cent” of what her male co-stars – who included her ex-husband Chad Michael Murray – were making.

She said: “I was finally being paid equally to the second-lowest paid woman on the cast.

“So, under 20 percent of what my male co-star was making on the show.

“Part of the reason they like to make teen television is because they don’t really have to pay young people very much money.

“Because I had been an added character – even though I’d be a series regular. I was essentially told, ‘This is all we can afford to pay you. Take it or leave it. It’s never going to get any better than this.’

“It was a baptism by fire in the financial space. You want to work so you say yes, but when you make money, 10 per cent goes to your agent and 10 per cent goes to your manager and five percent goes to your lawyer. Then you have to buy into your union and you have to figure out how to incorporate a business.”

EXCLUSIVE! Children’s Day Special: Manpasand Ki Shaadi Fame Akshun Mahajan Reveals He Still Watches Batman, Dragon Ball Z

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Akshun Mahajan, who has already won viewers’ hearts with his charming screen presence and impressive performances, continues to shine with every new project. The actor earned widespread love and appreciation for playing the lead role in Rajshri Productions’ Manpasand Ki Shaadi on Colors TV, where his natural acting and emotional range made him a standout favorite among fans.

On the occasion of Children’s Day today, Akshun Mahajan takes a nostalgic trip back to the moments, cartoons, and lessons that shaped the person he is today.

Akshun Mahajan Reveals His Childhood Dreams

During an exclusive conversation, Akshun Mahajan reveals his childhood was filled with superheroes, animated battles, and simple joys that still stay with him. For him, childhood entertainment meant two things – Batman and Dragon Ball Z. Akshun admits he still watches them every single day, even if it’s just for five minutes. He shares, “It’s my way of reliving those old times,” Whether it’s early morning or late at night, these shows continue to bring him comfort.

Interestingly, before acting entered his life, Akshun had an entirely different dream — one inspired straight from the world of Goku. “I wanted to go Super Saiyan.” As a child, Mahajan spent hours trying to transform into the powerful form he admired so much. That childhood fantasy, he says, made him believe in becoming stronger and evolving constantly.

These shows didn’t just entertain him; they shaped his values, too. Akshun credits Batman for teaching him loyalty, ethics, and the importance of staying true to one’s path. From Dragon Ball Z, he learned the meaning of family and the importance of remembering your roots. He reflects, “These two cartoons played a big part in making me who I am.”

Akshun Recalls Flying ‘A Lot’ Of Kites As A Kid

When asked about a childhood memory that still brings a smile, Akshun lights up instantly. He recalls long winters in Punjab spent flying kites on the terrace, especially during the January kite festival. He said, “I used to fly a lot of kites actually, the entire winter until Baisakhi. Easily one of my fondest memories. And still, when I get the chance, I do travel back home and I go fly kites at my old terrace.”

This Children’s Day, Akshun Mahajan reminds us that the kid inside us never really goes away – and maybe, that’s the best part of growing up.

Happy Children’s Day!
