‘Made In Korea’ Renewed For Second Season At Disney+, Release Date For S1 Unveiled

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney+ has renewed Korean crime series Made In Korea for a second season, with Season 1 debuting on the platform on December 24 this year.

Season 1 stars Hyun Bin (Crash Landing On You, Confidential Assignment), Jung Woosung (12.12: The Day, Hunt) and Woo Dohwan (My Puppy, Bloodhounds), who all appeared on stage at Disney’s APAC Showcase in Hong Kong.

Director Woo Min-ho reunites with Hyun Bin, who previously starred in Woo’s historical film Harbin.

Production has already begun on Season 2, which will premiere in late-2026.

Set in 1970s Korea, the first season of Made In Korea follows Baek Kitae (played by Hyun Bin), an ambitious KCIA agent who is living a double life.

Driven by his thirst for power, Kitae works as an agent by day and a smuggler by night. Suave, cunning and capable, Kitae rapidly moves up the ranks after using his smuggling operation to consolidate power, protect his brother (played by Woo) and generate vast sums of money for the agency.

Seemingly unstoppable, only one person stands in his way — a tenacious prosecutor, Jang Geon-young (played by Jung) who can’t be bought or bribed. With everything at stake for both men, the series will follow the duo as they look to take each other down.

Made in Korea is written by Park Eunkyo (Sea of Tranquility, Mother) and Park Joonseok (A Normal Family).

The series is produced by Hive Media Corp, with two episodes set to premiere on December 24.

Another two episodes will premiere on December 31, with one episode releasing January 7 and the finale debuting January 14.

According to Vanity Fair, she remarked, “There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed.” She continued, “Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.”

While Paltrow has been in Hollywood longer than Chalamet, Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie praised her star power and presence on screen. He told Vanity Fair, “She’s a movie star. I say that in the cosmic sense. She’s got a gravitational pull that only a camera can depict.” He added, “I think her absence from acting has lent a vulnerability to her abilities.”

What Is Marty Supreme About?

According to Paltrow, the film follows “This woman who is married to someone who is in the ping-pong mafia, as it were.” She explained,”They meet and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both.” The titular character, Marty (Chalamet), is the ping-pong player.

Sydney Sweeney is stepping into the boxing ring for what might be her most physically and emotionally demanding role yet. In Christy, the new biopic that premiered at TIFF, the Emmy-nominated actress portrays legendary boxer Christy Martin. Sweeney committed fully to the role, literally delivering real punches alongside her co-stars. “Every single fight you see, we are actually punching each other. We are going full force,” she told Vanity Fair — and yes, she emerged with bruises and concussions to prove it.

The actress is also making her case beyond the ring: “I was blown away that her story wasn’t more known on a universal, global level,” Sweeney said of Martin, calling her “one of the most harrowing and inspiring women that I’ve ever met in my entire life.” That emotional weight is underscored by Sweeney’s physical transformation, training for months, gaining more than 30 pounds and stepping into Martin’s shoes.

With growing excitement over Sweeney’s transformative performance, fans are eager to know more about the film and the true story behind it. Find out more about the Christy Martin boxing biopic below.

Who Is Christy Martin?

Martin is a groundbreaking American professional boxer who rose to fame in the 1990s, earning the nickname “The Coal Miner’s Daughter.” She’s widely credited with bringing women’s boxing into the mainstream, becoming the first woman signed by promoter Don King and fighting on high-profile cards. Martin won the WBC women’s super welterweight title and retired with a record of 49 wins, 7 losses, and 3 draws.

Beyond her victories, Martin’s story resonated with fans for her courage outside the ring as well. In 2010, she survived a near-fatal attack by her then-husband and manager, James Martin. She later testified against him in court, and today she uses her platform to advocate against domestic violence while continuing to mentor young fighters.

What Is ‘Christy’ Starring Sydney Sweeney About?

The film, directed by David Michôd and co-written with Mirrah Foulkes, chronicles Martin’s rise in the 1990s, her role in breaking barriers for women’s boxing, and the deeply personal struggles she endured behind the scenes. It doesn’t shy away from her survival story after the 2010 domestic violence attack that nearly cost her life, making the biopic both a sports drama and an intimate portrait of resilience.

Michôd described the project as “a wild mix of inspiring underdog sports-world story and personal saga,” praising Sweeney’s dedication: “Sydney trained her butt off to play the part. The beauty of Sydney is that she turned up to work every day with her tail wagging, ready to go. No matter how tough it was, she was like a ray of sunshine.”

Sweeney transformed physically and emotionally for the role, gaining over 30 pounds and committing to a grueling daily training regimen. “I loved it,” she told W Magazine. “I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”

Is the Christy Martin Biopic Based on a True Story?

Yes. The film is a true-to-life portrayal of Martin’s journey, from her barrier-breaking success in professional boxing to her survival and recovery after enduring a brutal domestic violence incident.

When Does ‘Christy’ Come Out?

Christy premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2025, where Sweeney’s performance drew immediate attention. Its theatrical release was November 7, 2025. Filming wrapped in late 2024.

Is ‘Christy’ Streaming for Free?

No, Christy is not available to stream for free yet, and it’s still unclear on which streaming platform viewers will watch it.

Senna Hegde’s Avihitham Gears Up for OTT Release

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

After the success of Thinkalazhcha Nischayam and 1744 White Alto, filmmaker Senna Hegde is back with Avihitham, a layered social drama that continues his exploration of life in small-town Kerala. Released in theatres on October 10, the film was praised for its realistic treatment, sharp writing, and grounded performances.

A Quiet Town, a Scandal, and the Stories Beneath

Set in a sleepy town, Avihitham revolves around a scandal that disrupts the community’s calm. What begins as gossip soon reveals deep-seated hypocrisy, moral policing, and gender bias. Through this seemingly simple setup, Hegde examines how collective judgment can shape, and often distort, people’s lives.

The film features a relatively new cast including Unni Raj, Renji Kankol, Dhanesh Koliyat, Vineeth Chakyar, Rakesh Ushar, Vrinda Menon, and Ammini Chandralayam. Their understated performances lend the story a sense of authenticity that mirrors Hegde’s filmmaking style, marked by realism and restraint.

Senna Hegde’s Signature Realism Finds New Ground

Written by Senna Hegde and Ambareesh Kalathera, Avihitham is based on a story by Kalathera. The screenplay balances humour, tension, and social critique without ever losing its human touch. Critics have noted that the film carries Hegde’s hallmark ability to find drama in everyday lives while maintaining empathy for his characters.

Behind the camera, Avihitham brings together cinematographers Sreeraj Raveendran and Ramesh Mathews, editor Sanath Sivaraj, and composer Sreerag Saji. The visuals and music work in quiet harmony, reflecting the rhythms of the small-town setting and the unspoken tensions beneath its surface.

Produced by Senna Hegde along with Mukesh R. Mehta, Harris Desom, P. B. Anish, and C. V. Sarathi, the film was described by critics as a “measured and mature” look at moral double standards. With strong word of mouth from its theatrical run, Avihitham is now set for its digital premiere on JioHotstar on November 14, giving streaming audiences a chance to discover one of Malayalam cinema’s most distinctive voices.

What’s Next for Senna Hegde

Even as Avihitham readies for its digital release, Hegde has already announced his next project titled Bloody. Revealing the film in October, the director shared, “We’ve celebrated the simple, the sincere, the everyday Kanhangad heart. Now it’s time to stain it a little. This is our descent into desire, deceit, and decay.”

The upcoming film, slated for 2026, will reunite the Avihitham production team and promises a darker, more intense narrative set once again in the filmmaker’s hometown backdrop.

With each film, Hegde continues to strengthen his reputation as one of Malayalam cinema’s most consistent and introspective storytellers. Avihitham stands as another example of how the director captures the complexities of ordinary people with honesty, empathy, and cinematic precision.

‘KPop Demon Hunters 2’ Aiming for 2029 Release

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

First the good news: You have not seen the last of Rumi, Mira, Zoey and the Saja Boys. Then the not-so-good news: but you’ll have to wait four years.

According to a brief mention at the end of a story about how KPop Demon Hunters reportedly fumbled toy merchandising for the smash Netflix animated musical in Bloomberg, the business site reported that Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for sequel. But, because animated films can take a long time to complete, the movie isn’t expected to release until 2029. According to Variety, Netflix and Sony declined to comment on the report.

“We’ve set up so much for potential backstory,” co-director Maggie Kang told Variety in July about the plans for another go-round from her and directing partner Chris Appelhans. “Obviously, there’s a lot of questions that are left unanswered and areas that are not explored. We had to do that because there’s only so much movie you could tell in 85 minutes.”

The fantasy adventure about a fictional K-pop girl group who help save the world from a demon attack thanks to their music has become one of Netflix’s most popular movies of all time, with over 325 million views to date, breaking a slew of streaming records while also spinning off a number of chart hits. The biggest, “Golden,” from fictional band HUNTR/X, leads the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Exclu. U.S. charts for a 14th week each.

In addition, last month the soundtrack to the film hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time on the chart dated Sept. 20, after seven nonconsecutive weeks in the No. 2 position. That ascent to the top was preceded by four top 10-charting hits from the soundtrack on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart — the most from a soundtrack in nearly 30 years — including “Golden,” the Saja Boys’ “Your Idols” and “Soda Pop” as well as HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done.”

The movie has become such a phenomenon that Netflix released a sing-along version in theaters in August and October, grossing $18 million over two days in the summer and another $5-$6 million in the fall.

Jennifer Lawrence and Cole Escola’s Miss Piggy Movie: Cast, Release, and Latest News

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, Why has there never been a Miss Piggy movie before, have we got news for you. Jennifer Lawrence told Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers on the Las Culturistas podcast that she and Emma Stone are producing a Miss Piggy movie, to be written by Tony winner Cole Escola of Oh, Mary! fame.

“I don’t know if I can announce this but I am just going to…Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it,” Lawrence said. Obviously, this is deeply important news for women, Hollywood, Muppets, and the LGBTQ+ community, for whom Miss Piggy is a beloved icon.

Without further ado, here is everything we know.

What will the Miss Piggy movie be about?

We don’t know.

Who is in the cast?

Aside from the titular Muppet herself, it will possibly star Lawrence and Stone. When asked by Rogers and Yang if she and her coproducer would appear in the upcoming film, Lawrence replied, “I think so. We have to…it’s fucked up [that we haven’t done a movie together].”

When will the movie premiere?

We don’t know.

Is this going to be a children’s movie?

We don’t know.

Do we know anything?

Unfortunately, not really. Back in July, during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, Escola did mention a meeting with Disney (which owns the Muppets). Asked who would play Mary Todd Lincoln in a film adaptation of Oh, Mary!, Escola suggested that Miss Piggy would be a good choice, with all of the other actors played by humans. Then they added, “Actually cut this because I’m gonna be talking to Disney tomorrow.” At the time, it seemed Escola was just making a joke, but this news makes it seem as if they were perhaps more serious about that Disney meeting than they let on. And that’s about the extent of the knowledge we have at this time.

Luckily, the cat’s out of the bag now, which means we can probably count on more news in the very near future.

This post will be updated.

BREAKING NEWS: Madhya Pradesh High Court Dismisses Petition to Restrain The Release of HAQ

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

BREAKING NEWS: Madhya Pradesh High Court Dismisses Plea by Shah Bano Begum’s Daughter Against Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar’s HAQ.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition to restrain the release of HAQ, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi. Directed by Suparn S Varma, the film is inspired by the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court on Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum case, in which the Supreme Court ruled in favour of providing maintenance to divorced Muslim females.

The petition against HAQ was filed by Shah Bano Begum’s daughter, Siddiqua Begum Khan, who argued that the filmmakers could not have made such a film and depict such events without taking consent from Shah Bano’s family or heirs. She had stated that she had inherited her late mother’s reputational rights after Bano’s death.

Justice Pranay Verma at the Indore Bench of the High Court rejected the arguments, holding, “Privacy or reputation earned by a person during his or her lifetime extinguishes with his or her death. It cannot be inherited like a movable or immovable property.”

The court also accepted the filmmaker’s stance that HAQ is “inspired” by the landmark case. It is fictional and the disclaimer that states the same is also a part of the movie. “Since the disclaimer itself states that the same is dramatization and is fictional and an adaptation of a book and is inspired by a judgment of the Apex Court, it cannot be said that the contents of the film are fabricated. Since the film is an inspiration and a fiction, some amount of leeway is certainly permissible and merely because the same is done, it cannot be said that there has been any sensationalization or false portrayal,” the Court said.

In its final verdict, the Court also noted that the film is stated to be largely inspired from publicly available court records. “Once a matter becomes a matter of public record, the right of privacy no longer subsists and it becomes a legitimate subject for comment by the Press and Media amongst others. The same is precisely the fact situation in the present case,” it said.

HAQ

Additionally, the Court also accepted an argument by the filmmakers that the petitioner had an alternative approach of heading to the Central government for revoking or suspending the censor certificate granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), instead of coming to the Court directly.

Insomnia Films (a producer) was represented by advocates HY Mehta, Chinmay Mehta along with Chandrajit Das, briefed by Parinaam Law Associates. Junglee Pictures was represented by Senior Advocate Ajay Bagadia and advocate Ritik Gupta along with advocate Jasmeet Kaur, briefed by Anand Naik & Co.

Directed by Suparn Varma, HAQ stars Emraan Hashmi, Yami Gautam Dhar and it also also features Vartika Singh making her debut with the film and powerhouse performers Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady. It explores themes of the Uniform Civil Code, Triple Talaq, and gender equality before the law. Written by Reshu Nath, produced by Junglee Pictures, in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, HAQ is set for a worldwide release on 7th November 2025.

The Big Reveal! Salman Khan’s Battle Of Galwan Release Date Leaked, Fans Are Going Crazy | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Salman Khan’s upcoming film, Battle of Galwan, is steadily progressing toward completion and is likely to release in June 2026. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the Bollywood superstar’s return to the big screen, and new updates suggest the film is shaping up to be one of his most powerful performances yet.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, filming began in September 2025 in Ladakh, where a major portion of the movie has already been shot. The team has reportedly completed several demanding and high-intensity action sequences against the rugged mountain backdrop. A source close to the project revealed, “The shoot will wrap up in December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will fully focus on post-production. A June 2026 release is being seriously considered, though July or August could also be possible depending on the release calendar.”

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan draws inspiration from the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops — a confrontation that became one of the most defining and emotional moments in recent Indian military history. The film highlights the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers who fought without firearms, using only hand-to-hand combat, sticks, and stones. With its gripping storyline and stellar performances, Battle of Galwan is expected to stand as a heartfelt cinematic tribute to the Indian Armed Forces.

Recently, speculation about Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement in the film spread online after Lakhia shared photos of himself with the veteran actor on set. However, the director clarified that Bachchan was not part of the movie, explaining, “He was shooting for a commercial in a nearby studio, and I simply went to meet him.”

While the release date is yet to be officially confirmed, Battle of Galwan is already one of 2026’s most anticipated Bollywood films.

‘KPop Demon Hunters 2’ Aims for 2029 Release

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Huntr/x will return to the screen… but the girl group’s reunion tour might take a while.

Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for another “KPop Demon Hunters” movie, with plans to release the animated musical sequel in 2029, as first reported by Bloomberg. Animated films can take a long time to make, hence the potential four-year gap between installments. Of course, release date plans could change depending on the film’s production schedule.

Netflix declined to comment.

“KPop Demon Hunters,” a fantasy adventure about a fictional K-pop girl group who protect the world from demons with their music, was developed and produced by Sony Pictures Animation. As part of Sony’s licensing deal with Netflix, “KPop Demon Hunters” landed directly on Netflix and became the streamer’s most popular movie of all time. Meanwhile three of its original songs — “Golden,” “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” — have been mainstays on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and could land nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

“KPop Demon Hunters” has been such a phenomenon that the theatrical-averse Netflix decided to bring a sing-along version of the film to theaters for fan events in August and October. During the first go-around, “KPop Demon Hunters” topped the box office with roughly $18 million over two days. Then around Halloween, the movie collected $5 million to $6 million, which is noteworthy considering it’s been widely available on streaming for months.

“KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang, who helmed the film with Chris Appelhans, has long expressed her desire for a sequel.

“We’ve set up so much for potential backstory,” Kang told Variety in July. “Obviously, there’s a lot of questions that are left unanswered and areas that are not explored. We had to do that because there’s only so much movie you could tell in 85 minutes.”
